Brunch time!!! The family gathered to celebrate my cousin's graduation from high school! Let me tell you, a time was had!! We had a fantastic time at Matt and Tony's. We sat inside, but the outdoor seating looked so inviting with the trees providing shade and creating a lovely ambiance. The restaurant has a chill vibe, nicely decorated and has large windows which allowed sunlight to brighten up the space. It was lively and bustling with guests coming and going, which added to the energetic atmosphere.
Our experience started when the hostess welcomed the group with a big smile. Our server Dulce who was absolutely amazing. She was cheerful, attentive, and made sure we had a great time.
For appetizers, we ordered the Seafood Dip with crab, shrimp, spinach, smoked cheddar, parmesan, and rustic bread. It was a delicious start to the meal. We also tried the Pesto Burrata with tomato jam, mixed green salad, garlic crostini, and gold balsamic vinaigrette. The flavors were incredible.
Of course, we couldn't miss out on the amazing cocktails and beverages. We enjoyed coffee, mimosas, Bloody Mary, and the Garden Party mocktail, which was a delightful and refreshing choice. To top it all off, we even had shots of Don Julio 1942 after our breakfast - a fun and celebratory touch!
Now, let's talk about the main entrees. The talk of the town was definitely the Chicken & Waffles. The crispy chicken, Mike's hot honey, mole syrup, and spiced pecans made it lip-smacking good. It was worth every penny of the $18 price tag. The Shrimp & Grits was another standout dish, with cajun spiced jumbo shrimp, andouille sausage gravy, and sharp cheddar grit cakes. It had the perfect combination of flavors. For those looking for something different, the Daily Quiche was a chef's selection served with a side salad and smoked paprika vinaigrette. It was a delightful and satisfying choice at $17. And if you're craving a classic, the Biscuits & Gravy with bacon, home-fries, biscuits, and a fruit cup hit the spot at $16.
Our brunch at Matt and Tony's was a good time. We heard so many good things about this spot. Finally, we got the opportunity to experience it ourselves, and it did not disappoint! It's definitely a spot worth visiting, and we can't wait to come back!
