The Best New Restaurants in Queens, March 2025

"The Sichuan scene is still buzzing in downtown Flushing’s Chinatown. Charming Sichuan is an all-white, no-frills spot with expertly executed, boldly-flavored Sichuan dishes from chef Dehua Yu, who cooked for 30 years in the Sichuan province. The mouthwatering chicken lives up to its name: a spicy, tangy, and savory affair with peanuts and refreshing pops of cilantro; the cucumber salad features wide strips in a light and tangy broth; and, the rabbit, cooked in a wok with spicy red peppers, baby bamboo, and numbing green Sichuan peppercorns presents a blast of flavor sure to wake you up. It’s all in the details, like the complimentary appetizers of cabbage in chile oil and braised fava beans." - Caroline Shin

This place is new and we wanted to give it a try. The menu is a white sheet of paper with just Chinese writing. If you can’t read Chinese, you won’t be able to order. I think the real menu isn’t available yet. Didn’t ask. Luckily my wife can read and we ordered a few dishes we usually like to compare to other restaurants. The cold cabbage they give you as a starter for free is tasty. The oil is a so fragrant. We ordered sauerkraut fish. It was good, fish was silky smooth. Full of flavor. Vermicelli on the bottom. Drank the soup with the vermicelli. Duck blood dish was flavorful also. But the other ingredients didn’t have time to soak in flavor yet. The stir fry cabbage dish was a little on the soft side. But very flavorful. The best dish came last, the fatty pork with black beans and peppers. The most intense flavors and really good. Highly recommended. Worth a try. Will definitely go back and try more dishes. Flushing has a lot of Szechuan restaurants to choose from now!

Charming Sichuan is a fantastic new addition to the neighborhood! Previously a noodle place, it has transformed into a spot that specializes in bold, authentic Sichuan flavors. The food is incredibly tasty—packed with spice and rich, complex flavors that hit just the right balance. If you’re a fan of spicy food, this place won’t disappoint. Every dish we tried had the perfect kick and was bursting with flavor. The transformation from the old noodle place to this vibrant Sichuan restaurant is impressive, and it’s quickly becoming a go-to spot for anyone craving authentic Sichuan cuisine. Highly recommend giving it a try!

This is a new restaurant. I got the Sichuan style roasted pork & fish flavored egg plant. They were both delicious. Good flavor in both. Maybe it was a little bit oily for my liking. The service and background music was amazing as well.

New place. Super flavorful food. Ambience is quiet and peaceful. Service is friendly. The dishes we got were super spicy but yummy! They didn't have water spinach this time, so they substituted with another veggie. The other dishes we got were beef and 干烧带鱼 (ribbonfish/hairtail).

Absolutely delicious. Everything we got was perfect seasoned and cooked. The burnt pepper eggplant was unlike any I’ve had and was stellar

Initially walked into the restaurants seeing not that many customers so I was a bit concerned. But the food was surprisingly good! Highly recommend the Sizzling Black Pepper Beef铁板黑椒牛柳 and Stir Fried Tomato and Eggs 番茄炒蛋(for kids). Hope more people will come to try their food!

I walk by this restaurant so many times, lucky today I got a chance to try this Sichuan flavor restaurant in Flushing. Their menu isn't completely in English, but their food is so tasty and delicious. Glad to be here.

Google
Unassuming Sichuan cuisine spot. Would heavily recommend having a native Chinese speaker or being patient enough to translate the menu on your own, however.

Yelp
I think it is permanently closed. I swing by today and saw the windows all boarded up.

Yelp
I loved everything we ordered, packed with flavors! Definitely recommend the mouth watering chicken (cold dish), spicy cabbage fish noodle soup, and thinly sliced pork belly spicy peppers. They also brought a complimentary spicy cabbage with sichuan seasonings. Have to ask for the English menu and can ask the server for recommendations as well. They also currently have beers two for one which was a plus. The portions are big so it's great to bring extra friends!

Yelp
This newest entry in the Flushing Sichuan Food Scene, is the latest & great addition to hit up the downtown Main Street area! I've ordered the recommended Mouth-Watering Chicken, Sichuan Cold Noodles, Cold Kungfu Melon Peel (actually Cucumber), and the Fresh Pepper Rabbit as the moan entree. Each of these dishes was absolute Sichuan perfection, and the flavor profile immediately hits you on that first bite. I am writing this first review for them, to make sure everyone knows about this spot and that any Sichuan lover should not miss out on this place. Their Mouth-Watering Chicken alone should win everyone.

Yelp
Simple clean restaurant near the 109 Pct. I had a simple Mapo Tofu dish but it was terrific. It's generally an easy dish to prepare but you'd be surprised at how many restaurants get it wrong. Pefect blendof spices and right amount of heat for $14. Went wonderfully with the large bowl of rice I ordered for $1 more. Good beers are very inexpensive at $4 or less. Great meal. Server and chef were very friendly. I hope more people go there. This place deserves to continue.
