The 24 Best Restaurants In Madrid - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Sometimes, you just need a big hunk of meat. Charrúa, a dark, sexy restaurant in Justicia, comes to the rescue, roasting it on an open-flame grill. Named after an Uruguayan tribe, this spot will fill that carnal craving for steak, but in an exclusive, romantic space—you’ll need to push aside a velvet curtain to enter. The candlelit benches in front of the grill are the best spots for curious diners who want to watch chefs char waygu chorizo, certified Iberian beef tenderloin, or Galician chuletón (yes, you can get grilled vegetables too, but the meat is the highlight). Reserve well in advance as this place is popular with trendy locals who don’t mind dropping €10 on a glass of red." - lori zaino

The restaurant was in a great location, the design and ambience of the place was amazing Staff were also friendly and tried to make the experience more pleasant. We went there for lunch time during weekdays but it was really busy; we were lucky to get a table. The meat was juicy and delicious; all their grilling is made on charcoal so the taste is different than other steakhouses

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! The food was delicious, the place was spotless, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A special thanks to Dipak for his professionalism and attention to details, and to Javier for his kindness and outstanding service. They both truly made the visit unforgettable. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Just had a sublime experience here. Amazing food, crafted excellence and quite possibly the best steak in Madrid. I will definitely be coming back, perhaps for a lunchtime sausage.

Great food, great service. The meats were outstanding and perfectly cooked. The flan with mascarpone was phenomenal. As Uruguayan I feel well represented!

We had the most romantic meal here when we visited Madrid. Food was excellent and all the staff looked after us. Really enjoyed the dark moody atmosphere of the place and being able to see the chefs and the fire pit 🔥

This is the best meat restaurant in Madrid. We had the best sweetbreads and artichokes ever. We tried Uruguayan meat, wine, and dessert and we liked them all. We wanted to have provolete cheese and tarta de queso but they didn't have them. Highly recommended.

A must for meat lovers in Madrid ! I had an incredible experience at Charruà. The staff is helpfull, present and the food quality is very nice. I really recommend you to try their sweet potatoe 😋 Little tip: book it way in advance !

The food was really good. The steak was cooked perfectly and the dessert was honestly amazing. The space itself has a nice atmosphere and feels lively without being too loud. The only downside was the evening host he was rude and dismissive from the moment we arrived, which really set the wrong tone for the night. It’s a shame because the kitchen clearly knows what they’re doing and the rest of the staff seemed nice. If you go, the food is worth it, but hopefully you catch a better front-of-house experience than we did.
