This restaurant reopened recently - We never got to visit when it was last open but heard it was a union square institution. The menu is mostly diner food but has some more “foreign” (to a diner menu) dishes like korean style wings (very good) and hummus (ok). The buffalo shrimp appetizer and the wings were my favorite, along with desserts (we got the creme brûlée cheesecake and carrot cake in a mug - both were wonderful)

Cozy all-day café off Union Square that recently got its liquor license. Regulars have been coming here for years, but they're under new management and they're making a push to attract new customers. The Fish and Chips and Korean style wings are both great, and everybody seems to love their Mac n Cheese. Even their burger was really good, but make sure you're hungry because it's a 10oz patty!

Chat n' Chew was a 20 year staple in the Union Square area until closing its doors in 2014. But now, like yet another TV show brought back from cancellation, Chat n' Chew is getting its own revival and it's come back stronger than ever. With a focus on a more diverse menu that pays homage to its roots but also has options for healthy conscious diners, the food here isn't only dynamic, it's also downright delicious. First things first, The Holy Cow Burger is a MUST try! I had ordered mine with Vermont cheddar cheese, maple cured bacon and wild mushrooms, had it prepared at medium rare. The patty itself is a house blend and is without a doubt one of the most delicious burgers I've had. Most burgers are greater than the sum of their parts but not this one. I could've had that patty all by its lonesome served on a plate with a single iceberg lettuce and I would've been happy. The Chinatown Chicken Salad is another winner: Chicken breast, shaved nappa cabbage, iceberg, carrots, redpepper, scallion, cucumber and a burnt orange sesame dressing. Not only delicious but hearty and makes a great case to order a salad for lunch. Another recommended dish is the Cape Cod Fish & Chips made with their own hand cut fries (which are as perfect as you'd want hand cut fries to be). Think of this iteration of Chat n' Chew as the sequel that outshines the original. One bite of any one of these dishes and you'll understand why.

Diner with excellent food and friendly service. The place and its owners are welcoming. Guests are diverse, ranging from young couples to families, and atmosphere is casual and quiet - really comforting compared to the frenzy of New York. The pasta Bolognese were fantastic. Their burger had a thick and tasty patty, a nice layer of cheese, and the buns were sweet and golden. Fries were good too. Great place for comfort food!

Went to the AMC movies on Broadway and 19th street and decided to grab a bite before the show. I really enjoyed my fried chicken which was crispy and moist. I have the restaurant 4 stars because my wife thought her portion of ravioli was a bit small for the price. Otherwise, we were happy with the meal and space and would recommend dropping in for a meal.

We stumbled on this quaint restaurant and were not disappointed. I got the pasta bolognese and the sauce was perfect as were the noodles. My wife got the turkey dinner and it tasted just like home. The place was not busy but we sat down at 8pm. Prices were a little high but it's Union Square so that's normal. For comfort food in the city, I highly recommend the Chat n' Chew!

Matzo Ball soup was the real deal, rich broth with lots of chicken meat. Holy Cow Burger a thumbs up, I ordered mine with bacon - that bacon was exceptional. Meatloaf was rich and so reassuring on a winter's night, potatoes and green beans such a homey touch. The star of the show, surprisingly, was the appetizer we ordered as an afterthought: Chicken Wings = dangerously addictive. A lipsmacking bounty that we devoured much too quickly. This will be our Go-to in the Flatiron neighborhood. Friendly, easygoing staff and mood. All around feel-good experience.

Went here in a group of five. I had a great vegan nachos plate with black beans and guacamole. And friends had a variety of meat dishes and Mac&cheese. They only gave an average rating for food. Service was fast and staff where helpful with allergies.
