Chat Qui Rit | Ristorante Venezia Gourmet

Went for a dinner one night, for anchovi & brioche and steak rossini, with a good bottle of red wine. We were amused by all the petit starters on house to arrive. It was so good we went back for lunch the next day, and sampled more wines by the glass on offer, thanks to the excellent recommendation by the staff and their service. A very special place in Venice, amongst many which could be tourist traps. The truffle pasta, I will remember for a long time.

Gourmet cuisine in the heart of Venice. Service is excellent, quick, attentive. Food is simply amazing! Tasty little appetizers, great menu, wine list. Loved it! More expensive, but not too "touristic place". Worth visit for sure!

Chat Qui Rit is an excellent restaurant receiving a Michelin recommendation! The food was simply put, amazing. The service was exceptional and gave our food in a timely manner. They were very nice and provided freshly baked bread as well as really nice main courses as well as deserts and appetizers. The atmosphere was also elegant with nice scenery. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here!

First dropped in for a glass of wine, blown away by the extraordinary extensive winelist and friendly service. Came back a few days later, had the tasting menu with accompanying wine pairing. We’ve eaten at Michelin starred restaurants across the world, chat qui rit owes nothing to anyone. The quality of cooking on display is absolutely stunning, it’s such a pleasure to experience a certain playfulness towards the local cuisine, it’s not religious, it’s what’s best for the local produce. Giovanni, Leonardo and the rest of the excellent staff made our visit to Venice magical! Worth a trip to Venice in itself!

We had to stop for a drink and a snack. Although they are more of a restaurant, they still happily accommodated us. We had two amazing cocktails and the aged meat platter, both were amazing. And then the tiramisu which had popping chocolate in it. The staff there were fantastic. Highly recommend it. Just need to have found it earlier in our trip.

Very quaint atmosphere , good service , complicated food pairings , surprising very small portions, smaller than appetizers .. a nice touch with complimentary appetizer samples but too far out there . I would not recommend any of the dishes we had. Wine list extravagant and extremely expensive . Not enough or actually hardly any bottles under 200 euros .. got to be kidding ! You’re in Italy where a fabulous bottle could benefit blight for 50 euros.. basically I think they try too hard .. not surprised only one other table occupied . I wish they would tone it down 3 notches , charge accordingly and increase the portion and remove the 90% of wines over 450 euros .. The desert Terimisui is exactly as it says in the menu “ their version “ which one would think is close to the T , absolutely unequivocally it is Not !

Food and service here were fantastic and consistent with other reviews and the Michelin Guide. The tasting menu isn’t going to give you a traditional local meal if that’s what you are expecting, but for something unique and inventive it is there. Recommend to try.

We had a wonderful dinner there in July 2024! We passed by the restaurant early in the day and it looked sophisticated - it did not disappoint when we went for dinner. The service and food were excellent. Staff were we very attentive and gracious. The fish was fresh and perfectly prepared. The bread was fresh, hot and so delicious. We highly recommend it - and we are picky New Yorkers.
