Château Cordeillan-Bages

This is a five star review- Good staff, accommodation, facilities, spa. We enjoyed our stay in an area we have never visited before, and the drinks/nibbles available throughout the day.||The tour of their wine production facility was fcinating||BUT- Given the lack of high quality restaurants in the immediate vicinity and no restaurant on site, this was a bit of a let down. The Hotel/vineyard does own a nice bistro about 200 meters down a lane at the side of the hotel- Not going to be a pleasant walk in the rain.

Lovely old chateau with 28 rooms. Quite noisy at breakfast and pool but families with you children staying. The rooms and common parts feel like a 5* hotel. However we had a few niggles with the service, which Cirielle (apologies for the spelling) sorted out without fuss. Also for dinner we had to take a 10 minute walk to the nearby village - not a great walk and it was 35C.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff at this beautiful Relais & Châteaux in the middle of the Bordeaux vineyards. A dream location! The hotel staff was tireless in helping us with restaurant and winery reservations, providing a truly 5-star service. We even received a complimentary visit and tasting at Château Lynch-Bages, which belongs to the same family. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had a pleasant view of the internal garden. Breakfast was not included in the daily rate and expensive for what was offered but the possibility of enjoy it next to the vineyards made up for it. Congratulations to the entire team.

What a wonderful place to stay in Bordeaux .||Beautiful Chateau and fantastic staff.||So many wonderful things to say.||Spacious rooms with many features both traditional and high tech. ||Lovely breakfast and service||Not a very obvious feature and well worth noting was they have a library where you can order a scotch or glass of wine (we did both!). ||The grounds were so beautiful . Even though late November, we stayed and took pictures for at least an hour before departing.||The Front Desk staff were some of the kindest and professional I have ever met. Often you have either a wonderful facility or a helpful staff. Chateau Cordeillan-Bages has superior quality of both.||I plan to stay again. Would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends!!

Our stay exceeded our expectations and the staff were outstanding. From the moment we arrived and they put together snacks on the patio and proceeded to take very good care of us. The hot chocolate for breakfast was amazing! Within walking distance to village and to Paulliac.

We had a lovely stay at Cordeillan-Bages. It is a beautiful chateau with an elegant but modern design. The staff was fantastic! Our room was quiet and comfortable. The bed was a bit too firm for our tastes and the phone in the room stopped working on the second day. Otherwise, we have zero complaints and would highly recommend this chateau if staying near Pauillac.

Stunning hotel! Perfect for a visit to Chateau Lynch-Bages nearby, or to base yourself for a visit to Bordeaux and Pauillac in particular. During the summer, the swimming pool was extremely welcome! Staff are fantastic, facilities great and the rooms very comfortable. Highly recommended

Fantastic trip - hotel was perfect for our needs. We stayed 4 nights, had 2 wine tasting trips, hired electric bikes, had a day trip to the coast and visited St Emillion on the day of our departure.

This was an amazing place to stay in Paulliac!!! It was quite expensive, but it included a dinner package at Cafe Lavinal, and a wine tasting at Lynch Bages, where my husband wanted to do wine tasting anyway. It was located so close to every winery on the Left Bank, so extremely worth it for location purposes alone. We could have saved by staying in Bordeaux for all 3 nights of our wine tasting excursion, but honestly it was worth not having to drive 1 hour to Left Bank, wine taste all day, and drive another 1 hour back. You want to enjoy your time in Paulliac!! The hotel itself was so charming though! There were several living room areas that you could relax in, a swimming pool, and even a small vineyard area with tables and service should you want something small to eat. It was extremely relaxing, and although there really is nothing to do on the Left Bank except wine tasting, it would have been nice to stay another day to enjoy this beautiful and charming hotel. Our room was very modern and cute. The swimming pool had plenty of lounging chairs - wish we had time to retreat here, but we simply didn't have the time. The service was so amazingly sweet and genuine here!!! The front desk attendant was so accommodating for us. We told her that we had an early train in Bordeaux at 7:45am, and she gave us helpful information on suggesting when to leave. Also, because of our early check out time, she offered to have breakfast and coffee ready take-away for us! When we checked out at 6am the next morning, we could smell the coffee when we walked in the hallway down to the lobby, and the breakfast pastries were ready prepared for us in a box, and the box was WARM and the croissants were delicious!!!! Wow. I wish we could have stayed a little longer to enjoy the real breakfast. Take me back!!!!!!

In the heart of Pauillac AOC, we splurged for one night at Chateau Cordeillan Bages. Kind service, large rooms, and proximity to the best Chateaux in Pauillac. The nice pool and the well-equiped gym (opened for one customer at a time during COVID) were good additions to an otherwise flawless stay. The restaurant only serves breakfast, the main restaurant is 500m away in Bages, "Cafe Lavinal", for elaborate lunch and dinner.

As good as it gets in Pauillac. I was there on mothers day (fete de les mere) and enjoyed a great XX course set meal. I enjoyed my apertif (champagne rose) in the garden and then had a wonderful meal in the dining room. They swapped out the veau for sea bass to accommodate my diet. There were thus three fish dishes preceding the cheese (excellent selection) and then three deserts (pre-actual-post) . Unlike many other places there is a nice selection of demi-bottles for those needing to drive afterwards. I had a very nice 2005 second wine of Lynch-Bages. Even if you can't stay here (I tried but it was booked) it is worth going there for dinner or as I did lunch. Did I mention it is Michelin Star? You would know if you went.
