"In the hushed, elegant decor of this Montreuil-sur-Mer institution, a young chef from Lille serves creative, eco-responsible cuisine (fermentation, decoction). He puts the emphasis firmly on plants and vegetables and showcases small-scale local producers. The yellow pollack, courgette from the market gardener, fish roe and elderflowers is a surprising, hearty dish with wonderful marriages of flavours." - Michelin Inspector

It’s a while since we stayed in such a lovely hotel. The staff were so nice and friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The room was beautiful with a large lovely bed. We enjoyed a drink on the terrace in front of the garden room and an excellent meal in the restaurant. Everything about the hotel was first class ❤️

We last visited this hotel 30 years ago and for one reason or another never went back. Until last night. We stayed in the same room we had 30 years ago and found it delightfully unchanged though the huge bathroom had been upgraded. A lovely cosy welcoming place for a cold November! The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The restaurant was a delight with a roaring open fire. All the food was delicious. My whole pigeon was outstanding. Beautifully tender throughout. My wife's scallops 3 ways was equally as good. Excellent desserts too. The meal and wine were very reasonably priced for the quality. It is in a great location near the ramparts and the town centre. We would definitely go again!

A lofty, historical hotel near the city walls and walking distance of the centre. Nicely decorated rooms, comfortable bed, large bathroom. Magnificent garden where it is nice to sit outside and relax.|Great breakfast, with fantastic bread.||Restaurant to be honest was a bit of a disappointment. We had 2 nights in a row dinner. First was ok: nice seating outside, we took 3 dishes a la Carte. Food was ok. |Next day it was raining rather hard in the evening so in stead of going out for dinner we decided to stay in the hotel and have dinner there again. We took the 6 course discovery menu. A number of the dishes we had were the same as what we had the day before, so not much discovery there. We had the same waiters so a bit surprised they didn’t “warn” us about the fact that we would be eating largely the same as the night before.||Summary: great hotel, but within walking distance there are much better restaurants to have dinner.

You know as soon as you arrive that you are going to enjoy yourselves. The staff are without exception charming and anxious to assist and our room was delightful. For dinner we had the Chef's menu with wines for each course selected for us, which exceeded all expectations. In a long life of self indulgence, I can't remember anywhere to exceed the Chateau de Montreuil!

Great restaurant with professional staff. It has a nice interior with a fireplace. The food was unique, refined and tasty. Ideal for a visit after a walk around the city.

Wow such a lucky find. (Last minute booking and so lucky to stay here). This is a wonderful Hotel in a peaceful beautiful part of France. The Hotel staff are commendable, exceedingly polite, friendly, helpful and helped to make our stay perfect. The Hotel is beautiful, and the Restaurant offers an amazing menu, and all the food is superb. Our meal was excellent. We can not thank the Hotel enough, and we would highly recommend this place. 👌

Having stayed before we learned on arrival that the hotel had changed hands twice.|With a car full of luggage we booked and paid for private parking, but found it was a derelict lot with overgrown garden about 150 metres away. We parked amongst the weeds.|The Suite was very tired and very expensive. The mirrors on the ceiling and walls in the bathroom made having a bath a disconcerting experience! It could all do with a lot of TLC.|Breakfast was very disappointing and shambolic. The orange juice had run out and was from the packet concentrate. The buffet was a small selection of foods on a small table in a small side room. No protection against germs. Once on or two people got located in front of the table, the rest of us had to wait as there was no other space. Butter was a slab on a plate, by the time we got there the slab had nearly gone and the thought of many people pokeing it around didn't appeal. Cheese and ham nearly run out. "Hot courses" was eggs or...eggs. Definately not a €20 4 star experience.

The chateau is beautiful, with areas for eating and drinking out doors in the lovely grounds. It is located in Montreuil, which is a great town with amazing bars and eateries. The chateau staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us

Yelp
Sunday lunch, party of five. Some ate ala carte, some the prix fixe menu. presentation of food was excellent-a feast for the eyes. Flavors were delicate, perhaps too much so for our naif pallates. Sausage and foie gras to start. One lamb that was cooked a point and was sublime; pork boudin that was tasty, but so rich in flavor that the portion size was too big,; pollock cooked to perfection on an aubergine puree that was just a little too spicy for the delicate fish. For dessert, a variation on on a lime mousse, with pistacchio crust was worth the price of lunch alone. excellent wine selection as to be expected. All round very satisfactory experience. Clearly worth the Michelin star.

Yelp
Very nice food and the Michelin star is well awarded. Very good classic French cuisine perfect for any big occasion because is a little on the pricey side. Menu boasts a lot of variety and has some ting for everyones' tastes. Could have a larger vegetarian option for five stars, although most French restaurants are meat orientated which was fine for me but my girlfriend doesn't eat meat so was a bit of a let down on that front. Overall, a great highbrow place for dinner or afternoon tea (although the British are much better at high tea than anyone)
