"Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is the quintessence of French art de vivre. The ceiling of the lavish dining room is adorned in 120 gilded Lalique crystal leaves and the conservatory commands a fine view of the vineyards. Chef Jérôme Schilling, who boasts an immaculate CV (including Guy Lassausaie, Joël Robuchon, Thierry Marx and Best Craftsman of France 2023), devises menus around the rich flavours of Sauternes produce and its world-famous wine. Scallops are paired with vine shoots, farm-raised pigeon with wine sediment and apples and caramel with the estate’s 2003 vintage… The food is served in magnificent crystalware by Lalique and Bone China tableware, raising table arts to a whole new level. Intelligent, precise cuisine which aims to exalt the distinctive identity of Sauternes, which naturally enjoys a star position on the extensive wine list." - Michelin Inspector

This chateau/hotel is truly incredible. From the very informative and fun wine and food pairing tasting, to beautiful breakfast spreads, to beautiful gardens and vineyards, we thoroughly enjoyed the grounds. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We especially loved all the LALIQUE furniture and glasses - everything custom-made for the hotel and very cohesive. Moreover, 5/5 for service, all the staff is very attentive and thoughtful. This is a place that truly pays attention to details. We had such an amazing time here! Highly recommend and honestly very good value for the experience

Lunch at La Terasse: outstanding food and the most memorable flavours of our trip. The highlight for me was the trout main, which had a beautiful orange sauce and came with fantastic Genoa pesto risotto - one of the best tastes I’ve had in a long time. Two of us had the €39 3-course menu: asparagus in an elderflower dressing, followed by bavette steak perfectly cooked (rare) and served with grilled vegetables. Dessert of tarte au citron wasn’t as fabulous and too heavy on the chantilly cream, but we also got the grilled pineapple which was great. The restaurant then went above and beyond to then make me a gluten and dairy free desert of chocolate, apricots and tarragon sorbet which was delicious and such a unique flavour. Much of the food was cooked on a grill outside beside the tables which was a nice touch, although the vibe in the terrace courtyard wasn’t as lovely as you may expect from a chateau - it felt quite modern and had fake grass which was odd! The service was brilliant, Julian was knowledgable and friendly and went above and beyond.

Stayed for 2 nights and had excellent experience. The welcome was lovely and shown the room which was nicely decorated with vineyard view. Had the lunch and dinner at the michelin star restaurant (the only restaurant in the hotel) the food, presentation and the service was exceptional. They managed to changed some dishes for our dinner so not repeating the same dishes. ||The vineyard tour was the best I had; the lady guide was very knowledgeable and speaking excellent English.||The property provides free electric bike. It is a lovely and easy 10 mins bike ride to the small town where there are limited but charming shops. Found this super nice local restaurant which grills steak on the chimney. The owner was so nice that offered my friend a free car ride back to the property.||Overall the stay was lovely and the staff were nice and attentive. The senior gentleman who usually around the front door is a gem for the property.

Absolutely incredible. 200% would recommend. The chateau and bedrooms are stunning, and our favorite was the excellent tour/tasting with Vincent who is so knowledgeable, kind and delightful to be around !! The entire staff is wonderful - from the moment we walked in, it was absolute bliss. We had dinner at the Lalique restaurant and it did not disappoint ! Stunning view and extraordinary food. We will definitely be back.

Nice place. Nice service. Shower was very bad, spreading water all over the place. The power outlets are also not well placed, not convenient to charge the mobile phone. Don’t buy the wines at the hotel. Prices are abusive and much higher than a regular store in St Emilion. The winery tour guided by Pierre was great.

Back to Trip advisor! : ))) Since covid I stopped posting here, but with this tourism boom I thought it best to come back and continue to cooperate, as I continue to read Trip advisor before traveling, so everyone's review can be important for all of us.||Start with what I loved. This hotel has all the ingredients for a perfect stay. Our suite was excellent, large, with taste and priceless details by Lalique, with various views of the castle and vineyards, impeccable beds and sheets, so important, heated well, bathroom just right comfortable and extremely clean. Thanks! We slept really well. And We’ve even a little gift from lalique on arrival, I loved it. Professional people, attentive to all requests.|The hotel castle is small and isolated, but I like that, and with our car we discovered other vineyards and heritage nearby. The hotel has a shop for wine tourism, selling beautiful bottles of wine, etc., Lalique products are always very beautiful to buy, I am suspicious because I am a fan of the brand. And of course the hotel has an excellent 2 star Michelin restaurant, which I will write about later. There could be another normal Restaurant for everyday life, otherwise lunch and dinner everyday at the 2 Michelin star is not always recommended for all reasons.… so we would have stayed more nights But in the end, I think it's the restaurant that attracts people to the hotel. Although the hotel is great in itself, in addition to the incredible Lalique brand. We'll be back for sure.

We had a lovely stay in one of the suites and a meal at the restaurant. The service is 5 star with everyone being wonderful, smiling, and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well appointed. We slept well because it was quiet. They have a very nice shop with wines, art, and perfumes. Breakfast was delicious. Also, The restaurant is amazing. I will come back as soon as I can
