We had been passing by this place for months now and finally decided to stop in. Small quaint and cozy restaurant. The owner is extremely nice and everything you order is pretty much made to order by her. The food was hot and fresh with plenty of hearty vegetables. The spices and sauces used were very delicious and flavorful. The atmosphere at the time we went was calm and quiet only us and a few other customers but very relaxing. The restrooms and entire establishment was very clean and well maintained. We will definitely be visiting more often. We ordered the Crab Rangoons, Jungle dish with pork as protein, and Pad Kee Mao with chicken as protein.

We are always on the lookout for a good Thai restaurant and found one in Chaya Thai. A small eatery that is big on flavour! The lunch specials are a great deal ( M-F) with decent-sized servings. We ordered Eggs Rolls, Hot Basil with Chicken and Massaman Curry. The Hot Basil Chicken was delicious. I usually don't clean my plate ( and take a doggy bag home), but I did with this dish! Perfect balance of spices, bell pepper, onion and fresh basil ( the dish is normally with mushrooms also but I omitted them). Highly recommend.

This is my new favorite Thai restaurant! I came here for the first time today because my old favorite was open for takeout only. Otherwise I never would have discovered this spot. The fresh rolls were fresh and delicious, and the peanut sauce was amazing. I asked for a recommendation and the server said she likes the cashew dish. That's what I ordered, and it was a great choice! My only criticism is that I don't think their rice is jasmine rice. If it is, it isn't very fragrant. Not a big enough issue to take away a star.

The service at this restaurant is great and everything most of the reviewers here say it is. It is a small restaurant run by a very kind lady. She was very attentive to my needs, even making sure to bring me a glass of water while I waited for my to-go order. The food was cooked quickly and tasted great. The dining area, though small, was clean and full of natural light. I noticed there was a high chair available at the far side of the dining room. I look forward to coming here again!

I feel so bad to leave this review because the owner/operator was very nice but three out of four dishes we ordered were that bad. I’m not picky, I just work really hard for my money (just like the owner) and when I have to pay for something I wish I didn’t buy, I want to warn others. It took one hour for everything to come out and we were the only people in the restaurant. Not tasty, no flavor, not normal recipes, the ingredients were NOT FRESH. I picked this restaurant because of all the 5 star reviews and I am just so disappointed. I forced myself to finish my food because I was so hungry after hiking all day, but it was hard to do. I will say the whole restaurant including the bathroom is very clean. DO NOT order papaya salad, tom kha, or rad nha noodle.

First time here. GPS took me here but got lost a little because there is no sign outside. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the owner I assume. She was very very friendly and welcoming. They have a great looking menu. I got cashew chicken lunch special and spring rolls. Super tasty. I like the portion sizes and the prices are affordable.

Absolutely love Chaya Thai ! This is our go-to spot for Thai food in Tacoma . We've tried nearly half the entire menu and are always satisfied after the meal !!! If you ever have a chance, order some of their delicious crab rangoons ! There is literally no place that does them better than here . Also the owner here runs the entire operation solo and is incredibly sweet ! We love her food and supporting her business !! 😁

Google
Warm & heart felt service from owner. Very welcoming and fresh made to order food with fresh ingredients. Average portions with affordable prices. Delicious red curry & spring rolls. Best Pad Kee Mao in Tacoma. The mango sticky rice was absolutely perfection warm, semi-sweet , great texture for rice & delectable mangos. Everyone must try & visit this gem in Tacoma for some good comfort food thai.

Yelp
Loved the food here. Portions were kinda small, but service was fantastic and it was very cheap for Thai food.. at their prices you could buy two dishes and still cost less then most other Thai places. The ambiance isn't that great but again the food and prices make up for it.

Yelp
Small, pink interior with tables, not a lot of space but perfect for the sweet woman who seemed to be doing it all. She took our order, gave us water and went to the kitchen to cook, served us when the food was ready all the while taking to go orders. Luckily we came in when it wasn't busy and she was wonderful. I enjoyed Tom kha with tofu (flavorful rich broth with firm yet delicate tofu) and the pork pad kee mao. The spice level medium was more on the conservative side so we added more spice which gave it a nice kick. The picture included with my review is the jungle which wasn't as green as I thought it would be but it came with a decent amount of protein and the curry sauce was nice although it was a bit on the oily side for my personal taste. Really close to the mall by the way and has a free private parking lot.

Yelp
Ordered the pad ke mao and chicken wings to go. The noodles were well seasoned and perfectly cooked, not soggy and disintegrated into tiny pieces lol Chicken wings spot on-super flavorful, tender and juicy. Fast, friendly service and good prices. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Yummy food and fast friendly service! It was empty when a friend and I came in a few days ago and the nice older lady sat us down and took our orders. Food came out pretty fast and everything was very fresh. We also got a mango sticky rice and the lady was nice enough to let us know the mango might not be as sweet because they aren't in season right now but it still tasted great

Yelp
Wonderful service, I only got the yellow curry which was pretty good. Maybe someone else may think it's the best but I prefer a more coconut and sweet curry with more vegetables and this one was not as sweet and didn't have as many vegetables. The food and portions were at a fair price. The people that work there whether they own it or not I don't know our super great, they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and happy. I give five stars for the service. My honest opinion about the curry would probably rank at a 3.5 due to the reasons mentioned plus the rice wasn't that tasty. It was fine it wasn't tasteless or terrible it's just that I've had pretty good sweet sticky rice with sweet coconut flavored yellow curry and I prefer that. Don't know about the rest of the food it could all be amazing. I would be willing to try some more food for them when I'm around the area as their service was fantastic and their kitchen and facilities looked clean which is also something that's very important to me.

Yelp
This is our go-to Thai restaurant here in Tacoma. It's convenient for my other half and I, as it's located close to where we reside. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is consistently aroi-mak (delicious)! The pad see ew, pad Thai, chicken satay and sticky rice are our go to favorites. We definitely need to branch out and explore the rest of the menu.

Yelp
This is an outstanding little 'hole in the wall' restaurant that you definitely don't want to miss out on. Some of the best Thai I've had anywhere. The Pad Thai was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The employees were very nice, friendly and professional.

Yelp
Fantastic Thai food! My family and I went in on a whim because of the good Google reviews. The food was outstanding! I had the Pad See Ew, and my mom had Pad Thai. Both were so fresh & flavorful! We were surprised the owner cooked everything herself! She is sooo sweet, too! If you are looking for a superb little spot... check out Chaya Thai! And support local business!

Yelp
If I could give this place a lower score I would, I'm going to start with the red curry it had good flavor but the chicken tasted canned and bland small rice portion and curry was watery, the green curry wasn't any better worse in fact mushy, vegetables were raw eggplant was bitter and not cooked, chicken was bland and tasted canned again, finally and worst of all was the pad Thai this was one of the worst dishes of my life noodles were half cooked suace was too sweet and eggy like a sulfur taste I wouldn't be so harsh in my review but low effort and low quality food gets to me especially at this price for 3 dishes I'd take my money elsewhere if I could get a refund I would never coming here again I'll be making my friends and family aware of this place and anyone who ask for a place to eat this place needs to get better at what it does. All I can say is good luck to whoever owns this place cuz the food ain't gonna do it.
