Creative toasted subs, snacks, desserts, and a full bar

"A Sammich and a sandwich are two different things. Uncle Uber's serves Sammiches. With resumes that include local faves Snuffers and Fat Ted's the owners set out to crate the mightiest of sammiches. The difference is that their creations are tasty new spins on classics. Like the Shaved Ribeye - or our fave - the Pork BunMe, with shredded pork, daikon carrot slaw and garlic mayo on a baguette. Don't let "Sammich Shop" fool you - the burgers and salads are hard to beat as well." - Reel FX

"An Arizona-born sandwich shop founded in Tempe in 1998 that leans into cheeky, stoner-themed branding is expanding in the Dallas–Fort Worth area under local franchisee Bhavik Bhakta, who has signed on to open three new DFW locations — the first in Denton expected in early 2022, a second being scouted in North Dallas, and a third yet-to-be announced. The concept, which opened its first DFW outpost in Deep Ellum in September 2020 and now has five Texas locations after launching in Austin last year, offers creative sandwiches such as the Pakalolo (ham, Swiss, and pineapple) alongside classics like the French dip, BLT, a pizza sub, and numerous veggie-forward options. Beverage offerings — marketed as “Cotton Mouth Cures” — run from local brews to cocktails like the Dirty Hippie (Deep Eddy vodka, fresh cucumbers, and lemonade)." - Amy McCarthy

"A stoner-themed sandwich shop in Deep Ellum offering 'toasted' subs on hand-rolled bread, with playful menu items such as the chicken-and-ranch White Widow (named after a cannabis strain) and a California club with fresh avocado, plus cocktails like a brass monkey made with PBR and orange juice; full menu available for pickup." - Brittanie Shey

"I'm intrigued by the upcoming Cheba Hut, a stoner-themed sandwich shop opening Monday, September 21 at 2808 Main Street in Dallas. The new space is decorated with murals from a trio of local artists, including one that reimagines Dallas’s Reunion Tower as a bong. Founded in Tempe, Arizona in 1998 and expanded nationwide (its first Texas outpost opened in Austin earlier this year), the restaurant will serve subs such as the White Widow — a grilled chicken and veggie sandwich slathered with ranch and named after an iconic marijuana strain — available in three sizes: the nug, the pinner, and the blunt, though the menu contains no cannabis-derived compounds or CBD oil. The Dallas spot will also offer non-alcoholic “Cottonmouth Cures” (sodas and Kool-Aid) and boozy cocktails like the Dirty Hippie (fresh cucumber, lemonade, and Deep Eddy Vodka); thanks to the pandemic, cocktails will be available for takeout. When Cheba Hut opens I can place takeout orders via Cheba Hut’s website or order delivery through DoorDash." - Amy McCarthy

"A Colorado-based sandwich shop with a stoner-friendly theme is bringing its first Dallas location to 2808 Main Street in 2020; I note the menu features sandwiches named after weed strains such as Silver Haze and Chronic and cocktails like the Hash Can, a Red Bull-spiked Long Island iced tea." - Amy McCarthy
