"I'm intrigued by the upcoming Cheba Hut, a stoner-themed sandwich shop opening Monday, September 21 at 2808 Main Street in Dallas. The new space is decorated with murals from a trio of local artists, including one that reimagines Dallas’s Reunion Tower as a bong. Founded in Tempe, Arizona in 1998 and expanded nationwide (its first Texas outpost opened in Austin earlier this year), the restaurant will serve subs such as the White Widow — a grilled chicken and veggie sandwich slathered with ranch and named after an iconic marijuana strain — available in three sizes: the nug, the pinner, and the blunt, though the menu contains no cannabis-derived compounds or CBD oil. The Dallas spot will also offer non-alcoholic “Cottonmouth Cures” (sodas and Kool-Aid) and boozy cocktails like the Dirty Hippie (fresh cucumber, lemonade, and Deep Eddy Vodka); thanks to the pandemic, cocktails will be available for takeout. When Cheba Hut opens I can place takeout orders via Cheba Hut’s website or order delivery through DoorDash." - Amy McCarthy
