The 15 Best Restaurants In Elephant And Castle - London - The Infatuation

"CheeMc is a straightforward Korean restaurant that rivals anything the Colonel's doing. The casual spot is stripped back, with simple black tables draped with Korean and British flags and the kind of seating that'll leave you numb and re-thinking padded underwear. But that's fine, because you don't need faux flowers and tasselled cushions when you're nose deep in fried chicken, or when you're glugging water after a mouthful of ferocious kimchi fried rice. The fried chicken alone is worth coming here for—the batter shatters and reveals tender meat, and our favourite coating is the honey chilli which is equal parts sweet and spicy." - jake missing, sinead cranna

The Best Fried Chicken In London - London - The Infatuation

"Few things warm the soul like a group of friends alongside a basket of fried chicken, and CheeMc is one of London’s go-to spots for such a pleasure. The low-key Korean restaurant has locations in Elephant and Castle and Soho and is best known for its KFC that comes in seven different flavours. Our favourite is the honey chilli, which is equal parts sweet and spicy, though the spicy gochoo is also great. Particularly because it’ll have you fighting back tears for multiple reasons when it comes down to that last wing." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

CheeMc Soho Review - Soho - London - The Infatuation

"When you come to CheeMc, go upstairs. The red hue from the neon signage on the first floor of this Korean spot in Soho makes everyone look good, which you’ll appreciate when the spicy gochoo KFC makes your face flush. Plus, the higher up you are, the more likely you are to hear someone passionately belting out Korean pop songs from one of the private karaoke rooms on the top floor. It’s a laid-back restaurant, where friends gather to eagerly work their way through buckets of fried chicken. Give the rest of the long menu a miss and focus on the top-tier chicken. The crispy exterior is an ASMR dream and the soft meat inside remains tender and juicy. We’re big fans of the classic, but that must-order extra spicy gochoo will have you fighting tears for multiple reasons when you finish the last wing." - Rianne Shlebak

CheeMc Elephant and Castle Review - Elephant and Castle - London - The Infatuation

"CheeMc is a straightforward Korean restaurant that rivals anything the Colonel's doing. On a busy Elephant and Castle road, between charity shops and supermarkets, the casual spot is stripped back, with simple black tables draped with Korean and British flags and the kind of seating that'll leave you numb and re-thinking padded underwear. But that's fine, because you don't need faux flowers and tasselled cushions when you're nose deep in fried chicken, or when you're glugging water after a mouthful of ferocious kimchi fried rice. The fried chicken alone is worth coming here for—the batter shatters and reveals tender meat, and our favourite coating is the honey chilli which is equal parts sweet and spicy. But everything we've tried—sticky BBQ pork, delicate gyoza stuffed with vegetables—is great. Which means it's easy to ignore the uncomfortable seating and focus on the comforting food instead. Took a chance and just walked in. Waited for around 15 mins to get seated (luckily!). 😄 Ordered Ddukbul meal set, japchae. Ddukbaegi-Bulgogi taste amazing!! It comes with 7 sides plus rice. The meal itself is already good for 2. Sides vary per day, spinach and gimmari would come out on top of the sides. Japchae is just okay, but it got lots of ingredients in so for the price, very worth it. "My old soda" (the bubblegum flavored drink) tasted soooo sweet at first in lingers on the mouth for a while. But combined with the main dish, it complements each other. Even got a take away of half&half chicken. Overall good experience. Will try their karaoke room at the top floor next time!

Had been a fan from their E&C branch, so happy they opened in Soho! Table booked on website, get seated quickly. They have 2 levels of seating plus karaoke rooms on top floor. Friendly staff, good chatting atmosphere. Chicken was great, especially with half and half options. Would not recommend the all-you-can-eat chicken because you would lose out - we had japchae and seafood pancake and both were delicious! Fair sized portions.

Food here is average at best. The flavour of the fried chicken was good, but rather expensive for the portion size. Overall it's "okay" and there are far better Korean restaurants in Soho

This place is a hidden gem at the heart of Soho for Korean food lovers! Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The seafood pancake (haemul pajeon) was crispy on the outside and perfectly soft inside, with a generous amount of seafood and scallions. Paired with the dipping sauce and a wedge of lime, it was an ideal starter. We also had a feast of crispy honey garlic fried chicken, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles with beef and vegetables), egg fried rice, and noodle soup with seaweed. The chicken was hot, crunchy, and juicy—clearly freshly made. Japchae was perfectly seasoned and had a nice chewy texture, and the fried rice was light, aromatic, and not greasy at all. The noodle soup was soothing and balanced, with a clean broth and fresh vegetables. The service was quick and friendly, and the food came out hot and fast. Portion sizes were generous, making it great for sharing. Whether you’re craving something crispy, savory, or comforting, this spot nails it across the board. Highly recommend for a casual, satisfying Korean meal!

Food is really great. We came for the chicken and it lives up to its reputation. The stew set is so good and you get a variety of flavorful sides. Shreeya was really nice and provided fast service.

Been here twice now - absolutely love their Korean fried chicken! We got the half-n-half, red devil and mad garlic, they were very delicious. We also got the plain kimchi fried rice and vegetable pancake, equally tasty! Staff were very friendly and service was quick! If you’re looking for good Korean friend chicken or wanting to try it for the first time - I would highly recommend this place!

Google
Soooo good one of the nicest Korean places I've visited whilst in London, food was quite expensive but portions were big and we ended up taking most of the chicken home! service was perfect and we were also seated right away, there's extra seating upstairs. downsides would be I found the music in the restaurant to be really loud and the tables are quite close together since the bottom floor is really small. The chips we ordered were also cold when we were given them. Theres also a 5% service fee on top of the bill and we weren't able to split the bill between the two of us as their system wouldn't allow it. would visit again but its more on the expensive side compared to other places in Chinatown.

Went here for their unlimited korean fried chicken with one free drink for about £22 (with taxes) and I think it’s worth every penny! My favourite chicken flavour were, the soy sauce, honey garlic, sweet sour pineapple, snowy cheese & the ones with scallions! Other dishes are great as well! I just don’t have any pictures of it! Give their taco bulgogi & seafood pancake a try! They were really good! Their chicken & beef are halal! (Not too sure about cross contamination) P.S we ate the chicken wings to their bones ☝🏽😂
