Where to Wine & Dine off Boston's Freedom Trail

"Founded in 1969, the Bull & Finch Pub gained popularity as producers used the establishment’s exterior for the iconic show’s namesake bar. In 2002, the space was officially renamed to Cheers Beacon Hill." - Abbe Baker

If you grew up with the show, you'll love the bar, they have so much memorabilia. So nostalgic. I loved it. The food was eh though. For the price of each dish I was hoping for better. I had the nachos and they were not great. Only cheese on top. The mozzarella sticks were hard. Definitely recommend going but just a beer at the bar and to look around

Google
A must-visit for any Cheers fan! Walking up to the iconic Cheers sign in Boston instantly transported me into the world of the beloved TV show. From the nostalgic sign outside to the brass nameplates at the bar (Norm! Frasier! Carla!), this place is full of charm and character. We grabbed a beer in a signature Cheers mug, complete with a slice of orange, and soaked in the cozy pub atmosphere. The staff was friendly, the drinks were cold, and the vibe was exactly what you’d hope for—warm, welcoming, and just the right amount of touristy fun. It’s not just a gimmick—it’s genuinely a great place to have a drink, enjoy some history, and pretend—just for a little while—that everybody knows your name. 🍻 Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in Boston!

Google
This place looks EXACTLY like the sitcom outside, but completely different inside. However, that is not the fault of the business. We went inside and had an adult beverage and it was still cool. Lots of nostalgia and a cool store supporting the show. People were having a real good time. Can't speak of the food because we did not eat. Would recommend everyone come by here for a drink and a bite to eat.

After years of “visiting” the show on tv, visiting the bar that inspired "Cheers" was a true pleasure. The stairway and exterior matched my memories from the show, creating an instant sense of nostalgia. While the interior was a bit different than I expected, it still captured the essence of what made the show so beloved, making it a cool experience to be there in person. I was initially concerned about accessibility, as there was only a stairway to enter. However, to my delight, they had an old-fashioned elevator with a sliding gate door, which took me right down to the bar. The staff couldn’t have been more hospitable and helpful throughout my visit. I enjoyed a great beer, chatted with some friendly locals, and had an all-around fantastic time. Cheers Bar is a must-visit for any fan of the show or anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in Boston!

Google
I recently visited the iconic Cheers bar in Boston, located at the edge of Boston Common, and it was a fantastic experience. As a fan of the classic sitcom, it was amazing to step into the very place that inspired the show. The bar's atmosphere is lively, with plenty of nods to its TV history, including Sam Malone's Red Sox jacket on display. While the food may not be exceptional, it's classic bar fare served in souvenir glasses, which adds to the charm. The beer selection is impressive, and I enjoyed trying the UFO blueberry. The bar's location makes it a great stop-off point while exploring Boston Common and the surrounding area.

Google
We had such a fun time at Cheers Bar! 🍻 The atmosphere is classic and welcoming, and it really feels like a piece of Boston history. The food was excellent—the burger was juicy and flavorful, one of the best we’ve had. On top of that, their 1/2 price appetizers were a perfect bonus, making it a great spot for both quality and value. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Google
During my visit, I sat at the replica set upstairs. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and felt so much like being dropped into the series itself! The replica set is in a much smaller space than the original set, so you might need to wait a few minutes before being seated. I planned my visit for first thing that morning (a Monday), and there was no line on my side. :) Bartender Jess was very friendly, and although I didn't order any food, the Shirley Temples she made were fantastic! I would definitely recommend this experience to any "Cheers" fan!

Google
I remember watching this show as a little kid, then later in life I started working in casting, and was lucky enough to get to work with Mr Kelsey Grammer (long after the Frasier years had ended, but still) who was great. It may have taken longer than I would've thought, but I finally made it to this great little bar. It's important to note that the exterior was shot for the show, but the interior was shot on a sound stage so it's nothing like what you see in the show. Either way, or was such a great little place and I met some amazing people who I ended up having great conversation with over a beer. So, I guess it wasn't that much different than the show after all. I would definitely recommend stopping in here if you haven't. I know I'll be back!

Yelp
I'm so happy I got to come here. I was skeptical given some reviews but the food was actually REALLY good! No points off but they did forget to bring my burger with no onions. Either way I took them off myself. I love Cheers and I love Frasier even more, so removing this off my bucket list was a great experience. The gift shop was fun, kind of expensive for a T-shirt but screw it.

Yelp
Welp, I'm here, so I might as well go "where everybody knows your name." Sorry, I couldn't resist. Cheers sits somewhere between a local dive bar & a sports bar, leaning more towards dive bar. It's a visit purely for the tourist appeal. Small venue, metered street parking on a one way street. Gift shop upstairs. Basic one sided bar menu, beer, truly a no frills place. Service is good, vibe is local bar. The exterior you'll recognize from the show. Interior from just a few opening credit shots. The interior from the show was a soundstage set. There is a replica bar upstairs next to the gift shop where you can sit and drink, no food served up there. Had a burger and a beer. The burger and fries were good, so no complaints. The beer comes in a signature mug, which you can keep for $14 added to your bill. A nice place to visit, but don't expect too much beyond the nostalgia aspect. Grades: Burger: A Fries: A

Yelp
We had such a fantastic experience at Cheers, and it was all thanks to Amy! She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome--especially my daughter, who really wanted oyster crackers with her chowder. Amy didn't just make it happen, she went out of her way to track some down, and even surprised us with extra chowder and a couple of cherries, just because she's that kind and thoughtful. Her warmth and generosity made our day. You can tell she genuinely cares about the customers and takes pride in her work. It's little things like this that make a place stand out, and Amy absolutely made our visit unforgettable. Thank you, Amy! I really hope management sees this--she deserves major recognition. We'll absolutely be back. What an experience!

Yelp
Ummm it's Cheers it's so cool! I know I know it's not the real one but it was cool, the bar was packed so we got a seat by the wall, it's pretty loud but not too bad, and the server was amazing and really cool to talk with, our food was great, our drinks were cold and strong! 10/10

Yelp
Now I could not come to Boston and not sit at the bar where Cheers was taped around people who all "knew my name"lol. There were two bars, one upstairs where the show was taped (we sat here) and the bar o the first floor was said to be the inspiration of the show. There were many pictures of the cast on the wall and the menu was selections based off the character names. A nice cold Heineken in a frosted mug for me and a Sam Adams for the husband was perfect on this hot day. The vibe in here was all that...the music, the crowd, and our bartender, Ryan was the best. I ordered a mug of clam "chowda" and must say it was delicious. It was rich, creamy, full of big potatoes and clams and was nice and hot. My husband was not impressed with the taste of his chicken quesadilla, said it was okay. It was nice visiting.

Yelp
When walking around Boston and we happen to come across this location. This is actually the pub that inspired the television series , Cheers. The actual more areas are quite small with only a small one in the front and in the very back. They do offer food, but honestly, we were both highly disappointed. My husband got a combo platter that came with onion rings, chicken, wings, potato skins, chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks. He said it was just OK and definitely needed an additional seasoning I ended up with the steak and cheese sandwich and while it's a large portion and comes with fries again absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. I did enjoy one of the down East ciders which is unfiltered and was super delicious! On the second floor, they do have the full bar set up for you to view - you cannot order from it . They basically just re-created the set here, but the original taping all happened in LA. Overall, my recommendation is if you want grab a beer, but otherwise keep moving.

Yelp
Had to go here especially is since I've watched Cheers. It's a very busy and cute little neighborhood bar since many go here just to say they visited here this bar. Although not everyone wants to know your name here they are fairly friendly. They serve your normal bar food and wasn't anything amazing but does the job especially while you're drinking.
google avatar

Susan H.

Yelp
Come on who didn't watch Cheers back in the day. Walking up and then down the stairs to the bar is iconic!! While the inside is very different you can still feel the vibe, we stopped for a beer but wound up eating and it was pretty good. Nice portions, we got the nachos to share and more than enough for the three of us. Main course was a variety of burgers and salads all healthy portions to and tasty. Worth the stop if you're in Boston.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
It's like Disneyland inside. Crowded. Full of tourists. Overpriced. But fun to go once.
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
It was my first visit to this bar-restaurant, and with its legendary status, I was preparing myself for a total mob scene. I arrived around 5 pm on a Saturday night, and while it was busy, it was manageable. Pleasant surprise! It's a first come, first served set up. The bartender was phenomenal and juggled a full bar by himself, including taking the food orders. Job well done! I ended up at Frasier's spot, so I decided to go with it and ordered Frasier's Chicken Panini along with a Bull and Finch IPA. The beer was crisp and satisfying. The sandwich was tasty and substantial. What more do you need? Cheers paid its respects to the recently departed George Wendt (Norm) with the black sash across its sign and life-size stand-ups of Norm and a guest book to sign. Nice touches.
google avatar

Grace C.

Yelp
We only came here to get drinks, so I can't speak for the food, but in truth our drinks were not very tasty. The price was standard for the area, and they were decently sized, but none of us found them that good. Our server was very nice and doing her best in the busy environment. It's a cool place that I definitely see why people go to at least once, but you probably don't need to come more than that.
google avatar

Krystyn P.

Yelp
Okay, so it might be cheesy, but there's a lot to love about Cheers. One, the old school interior takes me back to every local joint in the 80s and you've got to appreciate the aesthetic. Two, the service is fast given the amount of tourists that flock here. Three, almost every meal is under 20 dollars and they make a great burger. Try finding that anywhere else in Boston. Also, Cheers was a damn good show. So get over yourself and just enjoy a great part of Americana.
google avatar

Chastity R.

Yelp
INSANELY busy!!! Upon entering, it's nothing like the show but once you go to what they call The Set Bar, then it feels a little familiar. Definitely on the small side and with everyone in it, it gets to be overwhelming. People waiting behind you to finish your drink. Overcrowded. Thank goodness the bartender was quick and the beer was cold! It's an experience you should try at least once in your life.
google avatar

John Philip C.

Yelp
As famous as it was, this restaurant bar is my kind of bar because of the ambiance... It cozy and historical. There is a replica bar from the show upstairs. The food is good. It's bar food. The service is friendly.
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
You are going to want to check out where everybody knows your name! It's probably one of the touristy things in Boston, but I guess there's far worse things to do. The surprising part to me was how small the place actually is. It's really a hole in the wall place and NOT like what is shown on TV. They do have a replica on the first floor. This was actually the biggest disappointment to me. As for the food and drinks, this is a typical bar you'd find in any major city. The food was good, but nothing too outstanding. They make a decent burger and pour a good beer. Sometimes that's all you need! I know this review sounds more negative than positive, but I would recommend checking out. It's pretty much a normal sports bar. Nothing wrong with that!
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
I had forgotten the original "Cheers" bar (the Bull & Finch pub) was in Boston. So it was a pleasant surprise when I was reminded. We came by around 3:45 PM when the opened up the OG and sat at the bar. A tiny place but full of charm where you can see the decor that inspired the show and photos from the show, and some sports memorabilia. (They have a replica of the show bar on street level that is open all day). If you're a fan of the show, it's an awesome stop.
google avatar

Katy B.

Yelp
What a FUN experience! The service was great and the food was typical bar food, but very tasty nonetheless. Though not set up exactly at the bar on the show it was still so much fun and you feel like Norm, Sam, Cliff, Diane or Karla might join you. Don't miss the gift shop after. I'd definitely go back, if even only for the nostalgia.
google avatar

Margaret P.

Yelp
I recently visited this place while on vacation in Boston and I knew I really wanted to stop by this place. Growing up the show cheers was something my mom always had on TV so there was that feeling of nostalgia when I knew I was going to be headed here. If you're a fan of chairs at all, this is a place that you have to check out. Yes, it's touristy and of course they also have souvenirs. This is an actual working bar and restaurant so you can eat here, but we chose just to sit at the bar and have a drink. We came in the afternoon so it wasn't busy, but I'm not quite sure how busy they get in the evening. It worked out for us though because it's literally right across the street from the Boston Public Garden, which we were already visiting.

Yelp
I grew up in Brookline, so every time I go into Boston from my North Shore residence, I see many changes. My oldest sister used to go to the Bull & Finch pub before it became Cheers. This past weekend, we did the Beacon Hill garden/music/art event, but stopped at Cheers for a quick bite and a cold beer. Our waitress (M. Benny) was friendly & efficient, and the place was packed! We sat at a booth. I had the wedge salad with bacon & blue cheese, and my sister had the roasted mushroom panini sandwich. Both meals were hearty, fresh, and delicious. It is so great to see that this landmark has maintained its original quality of hospitality.
google avatar

Tabitha H.

Yelp
The bar has a strange set up but works for them. The clam chowder was really creamy and tasty. The menu prices were definitely more than I saw online. Started with a spicy Bloody Mary. It was yummy and a Sam Adam's Brick red beer. The man said it was good. He got the turkey sandwich and I got nachos with chili. I could have had three other people eat the nachos and it would have been more than enough. It was a waste of food, seriously wish they served a half order. Then we had a blueberry wheat beer. I am not a beer drinker and I liked it. It tasted like a blueberry muffin. The service was great she was very friendly.
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
Not everyone knew my name but the beer was cold and the atmosphere was cozy and kind. I'd been before but had to stop in once again to pay my respects to George Wendt, RIP. Cheers to Norm, Cliff, Sammy, Coach, Woody, Rebecca, Frasier, Al, and the whole gang!!!! This bar, its stories, and its people helped shape my life. Makin' your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
google avatar

Jerry P.

Yelp
Come on!! What can I say? This is Cheers, where everybody knows your name. I even challenged the bartender, I asked, "What's my name?" And she replied, "we all call you friend". I grew up watching the show so I had to stop by on my first trip to Boston. The food was good, the beer was cold and decent! They have a souvenir shop upstairs with a lovely young lady with gorgeous curly hair. She was so nice and completely surprised by my compliment on her hair. Don't know why.... Her hair ( and she ) were lovely. But back to the point. Good food Good cold beer Great service A chance to visit a landmark..... Yes please!!!!
google avatar

Cassie C.

Yelp
I am glad we decided to hit this tourist attraction. Great service, cold beer in a Cheers Mug and tasty food. There were 2 levels with a bar on each. It was small, but cool to see the paraphernalia from the hit TV show. We tried the clam chowder, and Frasier's chicken panini, both were good. Definitely worth a visit at least once.
google avatar

Ron G.

Yelp
OMG where do I start. 3 of us went. We ordered fried potatoes skins...(They were perfect) However, they came to the table really fast! The response from service was not just good... But EXCELLENT! As soon as we finished the appetizer, out food came out.. it was delivered to the table quick! Burgers were fantastic and extremely tasty! I have never ever had such quick and fast and attentive service before. I don't know how they do it! You order, then boom, it's on your table. Please Don't think it's crap food because it came out really quick, just take a bite and you'll see it's fantastic food and drinks! Price is a little high, but I expected that, so don't let it worry you. Bartender was great, sorry I can't remember our server name, but she was spectacular! I WILL be coming back to this place when I'm in Boston again!
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
If you're there for a drink this is a good spot. Little crowded since the hop on hop off trolleys stop here, but we got sat at the bar quickly and received our drinks quick too.
google avatar

Missy B.

Yelp
Ok, so this might be a tourist trap but I don't care, I liked it! We happened to arrive about 45-mins before they opened and a line started forming so we jumped in. We were part of the first group in and opted to sit downstairs at the original bar (you can continue on through back up the stairs if you want to grab a drink in the TV Show set replica bar. Service was efficient - they've got this down to a science. Our group went with a Boston Lager for the first round and they came in an icy cold mug - a perfect way to beat the heat! They've got food if you're hungry, but if you want to just grab one beer for the experience and take off, that's cool, too! Don't forget to check out the little gift shop before you leave!
google avatar

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Party of 6. We wanted to do the tourist thing and see Cheers as we grew up watching the show. The service was outstanding but the food was over priced and mediocre at best.
google avatar

Richard N.

Yelp
When the TV show was on air, I was too young to watch or remember, but I grew up well aware of its popularity. Coming to the location in which the show was based was pretty neat, and to enjoy a beer like the characters did, felt like I was part of the show. Apparently, from speaking to people here and there, this physical location has a bit of history outside the show. It includes a time in which the location had closed down, but then reopened. There also came a point when the business decided to open a 'replica' second bar on a higher floor. I believe the original bar can be found in the basement, accessible from the outdoor sidewalk stairway. Inside, on this Tuesday afternoon, was packed. There was bar seating and tabletops but we as a group of three certainly had a bit of a wait before sitting at the counter. Not surprised because this is probably one of the most popular bars in the city. It's worth it to venture beyond the OG bar. You'll find more dining seating, a gift shop, and a steer spiral staircase that leads to another floor with another gift shop and the replica bar. This second bar doesn't seem as cramped as it is with the large windows and the elevated ceiling. *Look for the roll of name tag stickers (like the show theme song: "where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came")* In that moment, I wish I had a marker to write in my name.
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
It was lunchtime with standing room only. There was not even room at the bar for a drink. A lot of memorabilia and photo options to take selfies. All of the staff were very friendly and offered assistance. Even if you cannot get a table or sit at the bar, it is worth a trip through the building.
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
Had to stop in Cheers of course. Just had a drink there but seeing the familiar exterior from the tv show was so cool and kind of surreal lol . We were able to get in quickly as there are a few different bars to sit at .
google avatar

Purpose T.

Yelp
This review is strictly based on a quick visit as a "tourist". I was pressed for time and did not have an opportunity to dine inside or visit the gift shop. Having said that, the most frustrating part was finding a parking space. I wasted almost an hour driving in circles. On the other hand, the most rewarding part was seeing the well-known attraction itself up close, in the flesh. Like me, there were others standing nearby taking pictures for the same reason. It's in a busy area, so be warned. I am looking forward to trying the food when I go back to Boston!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Stopped here while in town and happen to be staying right down the street so figured I would go and try it out and if you go down the steps you are at the original bar but if you go upstairs you go to what is called the replica bar of the show . We ate downstairs and were seated pretty quick but the small bar area was packed service was good I ended up getting the bleu cheese burger which was good and juicy bacon on it was really good , I will say if you like onion rings I ordered the basket of them and they were really good onion rings and would definitely get them again. Even if you have no clue what the show was the atmosphere is good and enjoyable and would recommend if you happen to be in the area.
google avatar

Glennis T.

Yelp
Omg we finally made it to the sitcom restaurant "Cheers" here in Boston. It was a nice experience, the staff was nice too. We sat around back pass Gift Shop bc it was cooler bk there. We came during Huly 4th weekend & it was sweltering hot . Lol We took photos, stepped in for a bite to eat for the full experience. I ordered the Carla's meatball & spaghetti dish & for appetizer I had the buffalo wings both were good. B4 we left I got a "Cheers" tote bag, beer bottle holder, & a keychain. I forgot what my friends ordered or bought but they were happy I did get a few photos bc it was busy. I do recommend this restaurant for the experience & the drinks & food.
google avatar

Lanita P.

Yelp
Enjoyed coming here. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We came just to grab a drink and purchase souvenirs. The place was full and everyone was enjoying themselves.
google avatar

Alan G.

Yelp
Like many, I loved the Cheers series, so it was fun to visit the bar that inspired the show to take in the fun environment, enjoy some decent potato skins, and chase it down with ice cold Sam Adams Brick Red lager in a classic Cheers mug! Our server was also super friendly and attentive despite it being very busy in the downstairs bar. The memorabilia on the walls was fun to reminisce about while we also watched highlights from the day's Red Sox game. Even the gift shop was fun to peruse despite it being totally aimed at visiting tourists. Overall - an excellent experience!
google avatar

Ilene S.

Yelp
It's where everyone knows your name. Crowded over priced but if you're a fan then it is a must see. Made my husband's night walking in saying "hello everybody" and waiting for the response "Norm". Lots to see, big gift shop upstairs and plenty to drink - don't forget to buy a mug when you are done $13 cheaper then the t-shirts.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
We were riding the trolly to see what areas we wanted to see a little bit more and one stop is directly in front of Cheers. Like many, we loved the show when it was on so we had to get off. It was lunch time so that sealed the deal. We got a table immediately upstairs in the "set" dining room where they have the area set up like the show set including lights etc. There are name plates on the bar where the characters sat. The food was good. I enjoyed a cold beer in a replica dimple beer mug. We split a cheeseburger and had a side of onion rings. Our server was great! They have lots of memorabilia around as well as large cardboard cutouts of the cast. The nostalgia was well worth our time and we enjoyed our meal.
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
Be prepared to wait unless you get there when it opens (11:00). We ordered one dish the Rebecca's FIsh & Chips and they split the food for us on different plates. The fish was nice & crisp but definitely needed the tartar sauce which was very good. Of course we down our meal with some good draft beers Octoberfest. The place had TV's and your regular sports chit chat. They also have a gift shop where you could get souvenirs. I recommend this spot for anyone in thats visiting or in the area.

Eddie O.

Yelp
Pathetic service. I flew I. From California and only wanted to go to cheers and attend a game at Fenway. So after taking a shuttle, Then a subway ride, then walked quarter mile Thru Boston common park. Just to get to cheers and waite 45 minutes upstairs in the replica bar that I was told I would be seated. There were 5 tables available and the server passed me by several times looked at me and just kept walking by. As we were the only non whites trying to dine in the establishment.
google avatar

Tom N.

Yelp
The very FIRST place we went when we arrived in Boston was CHEERS. I was so looking forward to it, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great, the service was extremely friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, the beer (of course) was refreshing, and the SWAG was iconic. We enjoyed the "Frasier's Chicken Panini", and the "Sam's Turkey Sandwich". Both were excellent and full of flavor. A generous helping of crispy golden fries and a large pickle slice covered the rest of the plate. After dinner, we LOVED shopping the merch store. So, just so ya know, the main CHEERS pub on the street is small and NOT where they filmed. That's next door and upstairs. So DON'T MISS IT! There's another merch shop up there as well. So, the stairs going DOWNstairs from the sidewalk on the street level go to the actual pub where you eat. The stairs going UPstairs from the sidewalk at the street go to the TV pub.
google avatar

Beth Ann P.

Yelp
We came here because, well, it's "Cheers"! How can you come to Boston and not check it out?!? If you're looking to eat, you should make a reservation. We stopped in for a quick cocktail with friends. We got all the "Cheers" vibes in the atmosphere. Service was very friendly, attentive and quick.
google avatar

Mya K.

Yelp
The atmosphere at Cheers is nostalgic and fun, especially for fans of the show. However, the food was just average - nothing too special. Service was friendly but slow, and overall it was an okay experience.
google avatar

Hunter W.

Yelp
The service was ok the dont recommed the nachos because there was exesisive amountsbof cheese the waitress took us to the back room and the coster were sticky and smelt like barf from drunk people it was very small even for short people like myself.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
This is a great fun touristy place. We read bad reviews but still wanted to see Cheers!! We got seated at the main bar right away It was 3 pm on a Thursday. Ordered draft beers and a Blackberry Truly on draft. It was so good. We ordered chicken wings. They were a 10 out of 10. Messy and lips burned but oh so good. We had to buy two matching tee shirts!
google avatar

Kelly H.

Yelp
Ok. I remember watching with my parents and I have a very nostalgic view of this place. We just popped in for a drink, to satiate my memories, and it was worth it. Yeah, it's gimmicky now, with a gift shop and what not, but it meant more to me. The fact that when I cashed out, the bartender called me by name just made my little heart sing. We didn't have any food there, so I can't speak to that. If you're in the area, why not stop by!?
google avatar

Darylynn D.

Yelp
I HAD to stop by here!! I had a quick drink at the bar. It's open seating at the bar or you can sit and order food. During my quick visit here everyone was so friendly and just wanted to enjoy their time. It's a full bar so you can have any drink you want. There's a gift shop within the bar and if you go upstairs into the hotel you can see the set of Cheers and visit the store.

Yelp
It's old and the food is bad. Friendly bartender. Ho for a beer just say you been. Close to the Commons

Yelp
I made it my intention to stop by Cheers when I was in Boston - yes, it's a tourist trap but I'm a fan of the show and wanted to see what it actually looked like in comparison to what was portrayed on the sitcom. Also, should't everybody know my name there? I had to go say hello. First, some fun facts - what we know as Cheers was originally known as the Bull & Finch Pub. The exterior of the pub was used in the sitcom and then due to the popularity of the show, it was eventually renamed Cheers. The interior shots were all filmed in LA, so the actual bar area doesn't really resemble what we saw on the show. However, after the show wrapped the set was shipped to Boston and a replica bar was built here. There are three main areas of Cheers: the original bar/restaurant in the basement, the replica bar on the first floor, and the gift shop. I wasn't looking to eat or drink, but I did explore a little and browsed the gift shop. All around there are cardboard cutouts of the characters in the sitcom, pictures of the cast, and merch reflective of the show. One of my favorite photos was of Ted Danson and Shelley Long outside the pub with the original Bull & Finch sign. Everyone was friendly, and overall I think it's worth at least a stop by to explore the building and gift shop. This seems like a one and done thing in Boston, so not sure I'll be back - but if you've never been I would check it out.

Yelp
Great place to grab a drink and some food ESPECIALLY IF FAMILIAR WITH THE SHOW! Parking is tough in area but it was worth the walk! Service was great too!
