The Best Breakfast Sandwiches In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Dolly’s in Bed-Stuy expands the definition of the breakfast sandwich. They've got your classic egg variety on a circular bun with cheese and meat, but they also make a rich, delicious cheesesteak egg sandwich on hero-shaped sesame milk bread. It overflows with shredded beef, griddled onions, soft scrambled eggs, homemade cheez wiz, and provolone. And—because this is a freakishly genius invention—it also comes with A1 aioli and a McDonald’s-esque hash brown on the side." - willa moore, will hartman, carlo mantuano, bryan kim

The food was hott fresh and out fast. The prices are just right, the girl. Taking the order was friendly and professional. If you haven't tried it, I would recommend you try their cheese steaks. As you see in the picture , they have alot of meat and are big enough to have for 2 meals.

Google
Well the staff for a smile and were quite helpful... The burgers were okay and the pizza was ridiculously dry and hardly any toppings. They may consider putting in some soundproofing in there because we were in there at a busy time the 5 of us and hearing each other was hardly possible!

Google
Super good food and for a great price as well would recommend

Google
It's a weird little shop being the building is shared with a gas station. But the food's good, and it's pretty cheap, about ten bucks for a cheese steak. The inside is pretty dingy, and they need to update terribly.... But to keep costs down, i'm cool with it how it is!

Google
On the first day I went there was over a 30 minute wait for all food. Went back another time and there was about 15 to 20 minute wait. So this may not be a great place if you are in a hurry for lunch. The food was okay and at this point in time this is still the best. Cheesesteak place in Lincoln, Nebraska. But that is not a very high bar to slide under. LoL

Google
Came here on a Sunday for lunch with a large group of car enthusiasts after a cruise. Cashier was very friendly and worked fast! Guy on the grille was lining those cheesesteaks up! Delicious food! Place was clean! Will be back for more!

Google
Tucked in a gas station like it’s hiding from the health inspector, this place serves a cheesesteak that hits like it was forged in Philly and smuggled across state lines. The bread is right, the meat is real, and they’ll throw jalapeños on it without asking if you’ve cleared it with your cardiologist. In Lincoln, where flavor goes to die, this place is a major miracle. Every bite tastes like rebellion against mayonnaise culture. Five stars for doing God’s work in enemy territory.

Google
Food was average. Good for the price. The meat could’ve been seasoned. I understand the restaurant is attached to a gas station, but the restaurant overall looks pretty sketchy and dirty. I also tried every option for the soda fountain and left with no drink because the sodas were watered down and the lemonade came out as pure syrup and tasted strong. For everyone saying their friends told them to come I definitely don’t think this place is that amazing to do so.

Yelp
This place essentially made every other cheesesteak horrible. I can't eat a cheesesteak somewhere else because I'm disappointed it doesn't match up to this place. Workers are amazingly kind hearted as well. Nice atmosphere for a calm lunch.

Yelp
An amazing Philly right in Lincoln! I got the 10 inch steak Philly with fries. Not only was it gigantic, but with fries and a drink it came out to $12 or so, which was a great deal. The taste was great with just a little seasoning. The fries were so great too and the service was awesome. I could only eat half of it. Will definitely go back!

Maria M.

Yelp
The cheesesteak was good, we just wished it had more cheese on it. The chicken rice bowl was also good, meat was seasoned real nice, would have been much better with some sort of sauce though. This place is what you would expect for being connected to a gas station. Priced right.

Yelp
Best cheesesteak in town. Whenever I'm in this part of town I get one.i always get the ten inch and only need to eat half and have the other half for later. There spicy fries are excellent and to add them with a drink it's super cheap. The help is very friendly place is always clean. So it's five stars from me

Julie A.

Yelp
A hearty sandwich filled with meat & flavor! I got two meals out of mine! Tip: Ask for extra cheese!

Yelp
Hidden gem for cheesesteak sandwiches!! Next door to a gas station! It's worth the drive south Lincoln. Prompt service, even when they're busy, the food still comes out in a timely manner. Friendly staff. This place gives a fabulous amount of food for the cost!! I enjoy it every time. The chicken and steak combo sandwich is my favorite.

Yelp
I love the little quirk Lincoln has of hiding restaurants in gas stations. This place is out of the way and sharing a wall with a convenience store but don't do like I did and wait until you're in the area to try it. Penny and the other two ladies working today were such a delight. The dynamic in there felt so familial and happy that it made me realize how much I miss people this year! As a first-timer, I had them pick what I got and their choices didn't disappoint, plus this was about the biggest sandwich I've ever seen outside of a catering platter. They gave me a punch card because "we know you'll be back," and with such a friendly atmosphere and an awesome value, I won't stay away for long.

Yelp
It's in a gas station, so you know it's good! Seriously excellent cheesesteaks. I recommend adding jalapeños for just a little kick. Sandwich, fries and drink for barely over $10

Derreck T.

Yelp
Great food in a little spot beside the Phillips 66 station. Was very busy and service was great and quick.

Kayona T.

Yelp
The service was fast. The Philly was seasoned but the onions and bell peppers were not sautéed at all they just put it on the grille for lest than 3 minutes to let the cheese melt. Very bare minimum basic Philly.

Yelp
You can find a better cheesesteak elsewhere, but you could also find much worse. I stopped in because I needed some fuel for a road trip, and I barely had time to grab napkins and mayo packets before my food was ready. Much too quick for me to have any illusions about the steak being cooked to order, and for that fact alone I cannot go higher than a 3 star. The food tasted fine, and the bun was nice and soft, but my standards for a cheesesteak are much higher.

Evan F.

Yelp
I was sus about this place when I first walked it and then had to wait about 20 minutes for my food but when it came out it was surprisingly slap. I got the Philly cheesesteak and seasoned fries and they were fye. I recommend this place if you ever have the chance.

Yelp
This was a real surprise. Coming from PA, I am used to "cheesesteaks" that don't even resemble a cheese steak. The flavor of this was "spot on" The restaurant is very clean and they were willing to explain their sandwiches. You know how some places act offended if you don't know what is in their sandwich. Not here. It was seasoned perfectly.

Yelp
Service: Was good, could be a little more friendly. Food came out quickly. Cleanliness: it could have been better. We had to wipe the food crumbs off the bench. Also need a key to the restroom. I'm usually weary of the germs it might contain. A lot of restaurants are moving towards the key pad. Restrooms were very clean, with quality toilet paper! Food quality: it was good. The food tasted really well. According to a picture on yelp they get their bread from a local bakery. They use clear oil from members mark. According to their staff they do not use a microwave. They have ketchup packets with no HFCS! Their fries were frozen not fresh but tasted good. This restuarant is local and connected to a gas station convenient store. Dont let it fool you the food was delicious.

Yelp
This is THE BEST, #1 Cheesesteak in Lincoln. Hands down. There are no contenders when it comes to this sandwich. Champion cheesesteak in Lincoln. I drive across town for it. If nobody else is in the mood for a cheesesteak, I ditch them in a heartbeat, and come eat alone. I don't care. The staff is always friendly, I burn through punchcards like nothing here. You can watch them make the fries and cheesesteak in front of you. There's always a line, it's always busy, and that's how you know a place is amazingly great, when people are willing to line up out the door for it. This is one of my top, if not MY TOP, go-to place for lunch. I'd divorce my wife and marry one of their cheesesteaks if it were legal. Seriously great cheesesteaks. Get the six inch cheesesteak combo, fries, drink and you are SET. On my deathbed, this will be my last meal, but instead of the six inch, I'm going to go with the monster instead. The grim reaper can wait for me to finish it for all I care.

Yelp
Great food for a reasonable price. My daughters with celiac get their Cheesesteak Fries while I get 10 in Philly. Son gets corn dogs. Something for everyone

Yelp
Best Philly cheesesteak in town. Staff are always friendly when taking my order, although I'm usually taking it to go. I can only speak for the steak, as I've never ordered chicken, but it is delish. A standard sandwich only includes onion and green pepper, but I always have to add mushrooms and jalapeños, because no philly is complete without those. They load your philly up to the max, there's no skimping on the meat. You also get one complimentary sauce with your philly. The atomic is my favorite, but the Thai chili sauce is also good. They recently remodeled so now they are a separate entrance from the gas station, with more seating inside.

Yelp
It's legit place is always fantastic. Don't let the gas station fool you this food is legit.

Yelp
Best Cheesesteak in Lincoln. Friendly and fast service. Cheesesteak always hot and fresh. My #1 choice for Cheesesteaks.

Emma B.

Yelp
The food is 10/10 but beware, the customer service is either decent or awful - there's no in between. I never know if I'm going to get a cheerful person or a particular crabby middle aged woman. Don't mind calling for take out today, the lady on the other end will treat your call like a burden & make you wish you were craving something else. I hope they turn this around & get rid of this employee. Really ruins the experience..

Chris C.

Yelp
Great Philly Cheesesteak... try the steak with cream cheese added. Phenomenal! Great place to hit during the kid baseball tournament. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Salt! more Salt and guess what? yes more salt, meat has absolutely no flavor other than, Yep Salt, Someone different is always cooking, Odd I know, its a shame could be fantastic, when they first opened we would go once every two weeks, now its once a year, and finally i'm done.

Yelp
Moses came down from Mt. Sinai with the original Cheesesteak Grille recipe and it is hands down the best Cheesesteak in town.

Yelp
At one time (first 6-months or so of opening) CheeseSteak Grille was the bomb! Now, their staff and food is sub-par..You never get the same sandwich when ordering the same item. Now that Peperjax is in town that's usually my first choice for a Philly as every time I go in I get the same service and quality food. Every now and then we/I check in and try CheeseSteak Grille, but continues to lose it appeal...

Yelp
If you are looking for a great cheesesteak sandwich, the Cheesesteak Grille beats Da Vinci's easily with their creation. The place is located in the same building as a gas station and until this latest venture the venue seemed to be doomed to failure. If the food continues to be as good as it was during my visit, it will thrive.

Yelp
Excellent cheese steak sandwiches, great prices...fries are good! This place is inside a gas station, don't let that scare you away - it's eye openingly good! Always busy during lunch.
google avatar

Tanya D.

Yelp
Great Cheesesteaks. People who work there are always nice. And prices are reasonable!

Randy R.

Yelp
Best cheesesteak in town hands down. The staff here are awesome as well. I love the fries too, and they have PEPSI!!! I live clear across town, but it is worth the drive...I usually get the 6 " steak with fries and drink and it's about $7.00...... great value for what ya get.

Max F.

Yelp
Great cheesesteaks for a very decent price. Love the food the people are usually very nice. Go there often

Yelp
We visited the other evening about 25 minutes before close. The young lady working the counter was very friendly but the man cooking was less than friendly or professional. First thing he announced is that they were closing soon so we could not stay and eat, in fact they had the seating all blocked off, second he told us he was out of steak so it would be about 10 minutes wait, which was fine, so he again told us we could not stay and eat. About 10 people arrived after us, to which he repeated that they were closing and no one could stay. The last 4 people came in and he told them he was locking the doors so no one else could come in. One man asked if he could use the restroom and was told, yes but then you'll be locked out. We received our food and ate at the counter. The young girl locked the door. On our way out we informed her that it was against fire code to lock patrons in a business and she was unaware. Needless to say I will not be back. The food might have been ok but the experience was such that I can find someplace else to go and spend my money.

Yelp
Back in early 2011, I was a big fan of Cheesesteak Grille. I would even go on weekly binges with my girlfriend. The meat, whichever chosen (Chicken or Beef), was cooked perfectly and sauteed on the grill with finely diced green peppers and onions, and delicious melted slices of swiss. The 4 sauces to choose from were a perfect topper for the overly sized 10", or stomache filling 7". Italian bread toasted to perfection. And crinkle cut fries with a tasty seasoned salt sprinkled atop them. After coming close to getting an ulcer from the gut wrenching Atomic Sauce, with extra jalepenos, I gave Cheesesteak Grille a break. When I returned to give Cheesesteak another chance before their arch rival Pepperjax opened in early 2012, I was let down. The friendly kitchen staff had now turned into a hot mess of young highschool girls. The sauteed meat cheese veggie combination had now turned into crunchy pile of partialy frozen veggies with bare amount of meat. The mouth watering Atomic Sauce had now turned into a watered down Louisiana hot sauce. And the crispy italian bread bun turned out a little darker then a peice of coal. It may have just been a bad day for Cheesesteak Grille, but they lost my vote. In the race between Cheesesteak and Pepperjax, Pepperjax is enjoying a nice cold lemonade at the end while Cheesesteak is running with shoes un-tied. I know Cheesesteak has it in them, all they need to do now is prove it.

Kyle K.

Yelp
Find the cheese steaks here very dry and I was not very found of the frozen crinkle cut fries. Portions were acceptable for the price. Service could have been faster but they were polite and acknowledged when I came in. But for cheesesteaks I would look elsewhere.

Brooke A.

Yelp
Most disgusting place ever. The employees stink like weed, I have seen bugs in their before, rude service, I have seen cooks pick stuff of the floor and cook with out gloves. Never again will I eat their.

Jon H.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The cheese steaks are made to order and are by far the best in town. The seasoning on the fries is a nice touch and well worth adding to your order.
