Order at the counter, find a table, and they bring your food to you.

I finally visited this delightful establishment after hearing about it for years. The sandwiches were great! Three of four of us got, "The Tenderizer," and were very satisfied. We also enjoyed the music bingo game! We will definitely revisit! Thnx!

I had the lunch special with half a grilled cheese, a side and a drink. It was perfect for a light lunch. The food was tasty and the server was very friendly.

This was my first time trying this place since I was visiting Chicago for the weekend. I had the melt sandwich and a side of fries. It was delicious 😋 and came with a pesto mayo sauce. My friend ordered the Mac and cheese sandwich. We also had the Mac and cheese bites, which were not good though lol, over seasoned 🤢. Overall though, fun atmosphere and friendly staff, good service.

I just wanted to share the customer service here was amazing. We came out for a concert and were just looking for a drink until showtime. Izzy was beyond phenomenal and went out of her way to accommodate us with the most phenomenal kind attitude!!!

You can't go wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich! Love all the variations of the sandwich. The beer options are good as well. Staff is very friendly. Mom pov: we came in after a walk with our stroller in the late afternoon and that worked out. The staff were super friendly to both us and our 4 month old baby. And they do have a changing station in one of the bathrooms.

This place is packed! there's a show tonight at the Vic, so I'm guessing this probably brought more business in. I saw a lot of people wearing Gothic type clothing. That's kind of the look of the show. You order from your table and then they bring you out your food. I had french fries and chicken tenders. Both were very good. The price was really decent considering this is Chicago so I was happy about that. Bathrooms are disgusting so I took some stars off for that because really, really gross. Stay off was nice but the interaction with them is so very little. If you want to refill on your drink, you have to order it from your phone. No free refills on soda.

YUM! If you love a good grilled cheese you definitely need to try the sandwiches at Cheesie's. We had the tenderizer and the popper (which was my favorite btw) The bread is crispy and buttery which makes this sandwich so darn good. I recommend you try it with the tomato soup! Great combo. Their pizza puffs are also amazing! Lots of fillings and a soft pastry. Their chipotle sauce is the bomb! It's a unique restaurant, very chill with lots of rock music playing. They also have a lot of options for drinks which was nice! Would definitely recommend

Came a couple years ago and it was just OK. Came today for lunch and it was so much better. Very good and the manager went above and beyond with customer service. He also mentioned how they're trying to up their food quality and staff. It really showed and we'll definitely be back. Get the mac n cheese balls they're amazing!! Sandwich was also delicious.

Super fun and unique concept restaurant. The servers and bartenders were really friendly and helpful. We barely had to wait to have our order taken and we got our food out quickly. I was a little bummed they didn't take the Yelp check in deal, so that should be looked in to, but otherwise great experience. The popper sandwich was great, fries were crispy, and the drinks were good. We tried the cheeseburger shot, a shot of Jameson, pickle back, finished with a tater tot. It was a unique shot that we couldn't leave without trying, ha!

Let me spell out the perfect night for you - go to Karaoke at Trader Todd's and end the night with Cheesie's. The caprese grilled cheese was delicious and the tater tots were amazing as well. Definitely hits different late night but I can imagine it would be a yummy lunch if it's what you are in the mood for. Lots of seating and service was good too! Absolutely would go back.

I've had a condo a block from this place for four years and have never gotten around to trying it. I'm glad I finally did. Food is terrific. I had a special of the month, the grill power sandwich, but I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches here. They're perfectly grilled, with perfectly melted cheese. I loved the spicy mayo that came with my sandwich. They're also great at cooking the tater tots, which were perfectly crispy. There's tableservice if you don't want it to go, and the service was fast and friendly. I'll be back.

Love this place; who wouldn't love a grilled cheese bar? My favorite is the Frenchie but will definitely be trying more!

We came around 6 p.m. On a VERY nice Saturday and had a very pleasant experience. Inside is very unique as there are chalkboard tables and walls where you can draw whatever you want! You order at the register and our food came relatively quick. I ordered The Melt with a side of tater tots. The Melt was phenomenal. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful and with the bacon it was AMAZING! The tater tots were amazing as well- very fresh and tasted house made. Overall a very wonderful experience. I look forward to coming back the next time I am in the city!

The absolutely perfect late-night spot to go with friends after a night out. At 2am, I promise you, nothing will quite hit like a Cheesie's grilled cheese-- from the loud, crisp crunch of the bread to the warm, gooey melt of the cheese. All the sandwiches on the menu are creative and interesting. I got the Caprese Sandwich (mozzarella, tomatoes, basil on sourdough) which comes with a delicious creamy pesto mayo dipping sauce. It was really good-- piping hot, crispy, buttery, and melted perfectly. My friends tried the OG, the Mac, and the Balboa, and they each enjoyed them. The prices are not bad, but a bit high for what it is (a grilled cheese). The late-night ambience is dark, fun, and pretty loud and boisterous. The staff, from the security guard to the servers, were all really nice-- quite a feat for likely having to deal with inebriated people all night. I'd be curious to try this place during normal day time hours, though I'm not sure if I would readily choose to, as my stomach was honestly also feeling a bit queasy by the time I finished my last sandwich half. -- Price (relative to peers): 4/5 Food: 4.5/5 Ambience: 4.5/5 Overall Value: 4.2/5

A cool and rainy Saturday in April - good day to go to Cheesie's for lunch. Sourdough bread, your choice of fillings, grilled to perfection. Cheesie's does it right. Looked crowded when we walked in - because it was Music Bingo day. Lots of seating at the bar - which is where we landed. The sandwich of the month was roast beef, onions, mushrooms, spring mix and two types of cheese served with a horseradish aioli. That was for me. Rick had the OG with gouda and cheddar with a cup of the tomato soup. We split the sweet potato fries. Bartender was convivial - explained that Music Bingo is nothing at all like trivia games. No one minds if you sing along with the song clips - actually - it's encouraged. We didn't play the Bingo - but we did sing along. (Until they got to Emo - not my category) We both enjoyed two draft beers with our sandwiches and songs. A fun lunch outing.

Amazing place, great food! If you want to have a grilled cheese either to try it for the first time or to satisfy a craving, this is the place to be!

Absolutely delicious grilled cheese! Insanely good!! Would absolutely recommend this place. The Mac was filled with flavor and came out nice and warm and melty.

You literally cannot go wrong with this place. While I would likely never actively come to this joint as a sober person, I have to say that I have tried this food sober and can admit it's a guilty pleasure. Every single time I come here inebriated, it truly hits the spot. We love a place open very late to help assist with the drunchies... but it's even better when the food actually slaps! I've had various things on the menu here and it tastes fire. I even love their tater tots. The fact that this place is located right next to the Berlin club next door and right off the Belmont L stop, it truly makes it a one stop shop for me! Love your unhealthy food!!!

Came after a night out and it was definitely bumpin' at 11pm at night :) Food: Honestly their grilled cheese really hit the spot. I love grilled cheese sandwiches and you literally cannot go wrong with their grilled cheese sandwiches. I like their OG grilled cheese, but their other grilled cheese sandwiches are pretty good too! Service: 100000/10! We had the best server. Had the snarkiest comments and made sure we had everything we needed!

Food is bomb af I feel so bad tho--I didn't realize ya'll had already given me a side of tomato soup and I was like "hey there's no side." I didn't realize it was just in multiple smaller containers. Have been to this location twice now for date nights with my boyfriend. We've seen this place a few times before and decided to try it. The atmosphere is so comfy and laid back. The staff there is also very friendly and is always willing to help us find something new to eat. I absolutely love 'The Balboa' grilled cheese. The steak is so soft and the grilled onions go perfectly with the toasted grilled cheese. It's a perfect grilled cheese to satisfy cravings and to also order something super cheesy. I personally get the loaded tater tots each time I go. It's loaded with chili, cheese, chives, and of course the seasoned tots. It's always so hot and delicious, and the tater tots are so crispy each time. This place is such a great find in Chicago, especially with all of the same restaurants with the same menus, it's refreshing to see something that's themed differently. I love how Cheesie's is different than every other place I've been to and I can't wait to go back again.

If you love grilled cheese sandwiches in general, give this place a go! Yum! My daughter has been raving about this place for years. She was like mom, when we go back to Chicago, this is a must. She is was not wrong, the sandwich was next level. I ordered "The Balboa" with a cup of tomato soup. The sandwich was so cheesy, just the way I love it. Was really disappointed when I realized they switched the dipping sauce for the Tenderizer from chipotle mayo to ranch. I guess I should've payed more attention when I ordered it I guess but I assumed it would come with the chipotle mayo since that's always what it came with in the past. I really like the tenderizer but now I have to pay extra if I want a good dipping sauce :/. Ranch is only ok on salads.

A late night classic for sure! Can't go wrong with any of the grilled cheese, but the cheese curds are a must. Bonus points for being open late!

Great comfort food! The ordering system was super handy that you could scan the QR code and it identifies your table number. You order (and pay) from your phone, then they bring out your food when it's ready! I'm not a huge soup person but I got a side sauce of their tomato soup with my sandwich and it had really great flavor. Got the popper and seasoned fries, both were great. Will definitely be going back!

The service is always so nice here and the bartenders deserve all the praise in the world but honestly their grilled cheese is atrocious.

Found this place on a whim with kids aged 12 and 6. Everyone loved it. The food was fantastic (recommend the Melt) and my kids loved the free games & writing with chalk on the tables and walls. Our waiter was attentive and very kind. Would come again!

Cheesie's Pub and Grub hasn't changed since I last had it four years ago. I recently decided to stop by Cheesie's this past Friday and I am so happy that I did. The staff is always so friendly and the moment I came in the bartender was making me laugh. We initially thought we would take the food to go but the place was nicely ventilated and they had ample sitting available. If you are still adjusting to coming outside they have large windows that oepn The menu didn't seem like it changed to much but I am a creature of habit so I just ordered the sandwich that I last remembered was good. Haha. I had the Tenderizer with a side of mac-n-cheese and my husband got the Edgar. This was probably the first time his sandwich was better than mine even though both sandwiches were delicious. I was recommend the Edgar without coleslaw. The side of mac-n-cheese was delicious! I didn't know what to expect when I saw the additional cheese on top because a lot of places try to be extra with their sides. I was pleasantly surprised when I mixed the pasta and it didn't look like Kraft mac-n-cheese. It was delicious and the portion size was appreciated along with the price. I would highly recommend visiting Cheesie's!

I was en route to O'Hare with the kids and needed to stop to get dinner. This place was perfect for us. We found on street parking right across the street. There was Wifi for the iPads. Local beer and cider for the adults. My daughter lives for mac and cheese and my son ate an entire basket of fried pickles. What's not to love? It's a family-friendly arcade bar and you can spend as little or as much time as you like.

I went here for the first time this afternoon. I would pass this restaurant and honestly I thought it was cheesy (no pun intended) because they have a cheese mascot on the door and it reminded me of a childs restaurant. So I had no intention of eating here. DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. I wanted a grilled cheese and this place was the closest with the best reviews so I went. Man! It was the BEST GRILLED CHEESE I ever had! It was cheesy, warm, and the sandwhich was served on a buttery Texas toast. I take a while to eat so even when it was a little bit cold, it still was good. I was greeted by a very kind lady with blonde hair, and I was told I could sit down with a cup of water if I would like while I wait for my order. Which was nice when getting things to-go. Inside of the restaurant definitely does look a bit childish and had cartoons all over the place but honestly that's what I expected in the first place and I was just there for the sandwich.

Yolie made our girls night out at Cheesie's a smash hit! A great place to come for your first shot of Malort-- or risk spinning the shot wheel. Yolie talked my partner and I through our first Malort experience and helped make it unforgettable and more fun. The food is excellent and I up until trying mac and cheese bites at Cheesie's I've never had one that wasn't disappointing. We tried the mac and cheese bites, mac and cheese grilled cheese, cheese fries, regular grilled cheese, and cheese curds. No complaints here!

Place is a big salt bomb, and I like salt, but even this was too much. Not bad when drinking or hung over though.

Ordered from Uber eats and this is how I received my Homemade Fried Pickles. I enjoy eating from this place and it's so disappointing that the workers there think it is ok to send burnt food to people. Management should really talk to their employees.

This place is a MUST! Being from Texas, hospitality goes a long ways with me and the folks here made it feel like I was home (unlike the other 9000 people we have encountered here.) We had a group of 5 and every sandwich we got was amazing! The Frenchie, Tenderizer, Mac, and OG plus a kids meal chicken tenders! Will recommend this place to everyone near and far!

Some of the best grill cheeses around plenty of varieties to choose from with variations. I tried the cheese steak and the meat was prime. The thousand island sauce to dip or add compliments the onions and meat. They also have a full service bar with local brews and cocktails. Great spot to end the night.

I came to Cheesie's after a Maroon 5 concert in Wrigleyville, and I have to say, there is no better option for food when it's late at night and you are absolutely starving. I ordered The Caprese, which came with a pesto mayo sauce. The sandwich was truly a perfect grilled cheese with buttery toasted bread, stretchy melted mozzarella, and juicy tomatoes. Every bite was delicious and flavor packed, and I was stuffed after finishing the sandwich. Although Cheesie's may not be a spot I regularly frequent, there is no better place that hits the spot when you're craving a cheesy, buttery grilled cheese sandwich.

I am a huge grilled cheese gal, so Cheesie's is a must for me when I'm craving one. It's a great late night spot, but I also get it delivered when I'm feeling lazy! I have tried a few different grilled cheese options before--the Mac is my go-to, which is what I got this week. It is a solid sandwich; you could easily eat it in two sittings. Seriously just so delicious. The Mac comes with a side of a tomato dipping sauce which I love. Any of the sides are great to go with it as well! My only gripe with delivery is that it wasn't super hot, which is to be expected. I'd say go into the restaurant for the full experience!

Very disappointed in Cheesies! Let me preface by saying I'm not a food snob so I'm content with most food but this was a huge let down. The Mac & cheese is missing the cheese. There was a cup of noodles with oil on the bottom. They forgot our chicken tenders all together and due to the crazy crowd of twerkers and police presence outside we were scared to walk one block over to ask for the tenders. Chili cheese tots and fried pickles were soggy.

What can you not say about this place other than amazing! This review is for the food truck which has come to my place of business a few times. The food is great and filing. However, the customer service is what places this business at A++! During their last visit to my workplace, they completed orders for over 210+ people in a very quick timeframe. They were prompt, ready to serve with a smile, and very easy to work with. They were so friendly to everyone. We even bought more than the original quote and they were more than willing to accommodate. I look forward to visiting the storefront as will as the bar the family owns close by. Welcome to heaven - although it comes with a wait. That's okay because there is a poppin bar that invites people to stay a while and have a drink while they wait 30-60 minutes for to die for grilled cheese! The OG with some tomato soup is a vegetarian dream

Really really good grilled cheese. Melty cheese on perfectly toasted Texas toast. Great service. They were all so nice If you just need a welcoming divey bar type experience with some killer grilled cheese sandwiches this is your place. We tried every app on the menu and we loved the cheese curds and the Mac chz bites.
