"Chef Creole doesn’t call itself a Haitian restaurant, but rather a Creole restaurant, and they don't only have Haitian dishes on their menu. You can also come here for Bahamian-inspired conch fritters, along with fried, grilled, and stewed seafood dishes. While all the seafood dishes here are good, the standout is the grilled conch—something that’s unique to Chef Creole. They marinate the conch in a Haitian-inspired seasoning before grilling it. The result is lightly charred, just a bit smokey, and the perfect balance between firm and tender. There are Chef Creole locations around Miami (and even in the airport) but the one on 54th Street is our favorite because it has a drive-thru and a little tiki hut you can sit and eat in." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, carlos c olaechea

I stopped by a local spot named Chef Creole today and ordered 2 plates of fried shrimp, rice and plantains for take out. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. My order was fresh and the flavors were great. The customer service was great as well. They have a great selection of Haitian food and when I got home we really enjoyed every bite! We will definitely go back soon!

This place is atmospheric to the max. At our lunchtime there was parking along the west side of the building. The interior is colorful, tropical, ramshackle, with lots of framed photos of people. You order at the counter, choose your table and wait. The food comes out, they call out your name and find your way to the counter. Then you head back to your table, unpack the neatly bagged and boxed food. The food is simple, well-prepared and cooked correctly. My pal tried the griot--fried marinated seasoned pork chunks, served with a savory gravy. As good as it gets. I had the conch salad that was absolutely about the best I've had outside of Nassau. Marinated in a mixture of vinegar, scotch bonnet chilé pepper, lime juice and tomato juice, this version had the perfectly cut and sized chunks of tender, sweet conch offset by the requisite chopped tomatoes, bell peppers and onions. Not ONE morsel of that conch was tough and chewy. I also had the conch fritters (seeing a pattern?) which were filled with smaller pieces of that amazingly sweet conch, deep fried in a light, airy batter that melted in my mouth. Their recipe was unique, producing fritter that was closer to a Krispy Kreme doughnut in texture than a hush puppy. The pickliz was suitably scorching, providing a cole slaw effect on the palate but with a kick. The maduros (fried ripe bananas) and rice are ubiquitous, found in every Caribbean restaurant anywhere. Their versions are fine, unexceptional. That red velvet cake is homemade and delicious! We had a great time at Chef Creole. Next time I'm checking out their location closer to my home.

I absolutely love their fried wings. I’m practically here always every week. My server Dumarsais always gives me great service.

I ordered griot complete the plate only had fat no meat when I returned with the plate they told I was supposed to check it first and when I told them what the staff who let me see the plate before I left he said that it had meat when I got home and checked it was only fat. They grab my plate took it to the back and they presented the plate to me it had meat the pork chunks that it’s supposed to have. When I asked why they didn’t give me the first time they said I have to check my plate and if I don’t like I can complain and they will change it but I should not have to go through that.

I ordered a bbq chicken with two red velvet cake and it tested spoiled we asked for it to be replaced she said she can’t so we had to pay again for another plate. They give us the new order of plate they put an extra one extra fried plantain and three extra chicken.

I love chef creole but i dont agree with the changing of the shrimp they were nasty n taste like the pre cook from walmart in the bag and the gravy taste different today was a disappointment

Google
I love the fried plantains. They are always fresh, crisp and delicious. Great with their homemade pickling. The oxtails are juicy and tender. And when you don't want meat, their fish is fried to perfection and seasoned well. I also tried the fried shrimp during their special. Shrimp fried very well, though they are small. I don't speak Creole but their staff is very pleasant.

Shavon M.

Yelp
Food was fresh and hot. Just have to go to a little earlier. They ran out of beans and rice, but everything else was excellent.

Sharlee M.

Yelp
I love Chef Creole's restaurants and have been going for years. I always eat at the restaurants since I believe the food taste best fresh. The food is also well seasoned. The service is decent. It can take a while to get your food, but at least you know it's being cooked fresh. The location closer to Wynnwood has a better ambience. This location, it's fine, but I pretty much just eat my food and go.

Shanice G.

Yelp
I've gotten griot and other stuff here but this review is for the lemon pepper wings. They truly get lemon pepper wet RIGHT. You know how hard that is to find?

Mica L.

Yelp
We came for the soup :) the JouMou was amazing. It was well spiced, had an amazing flavor palette, & had so many tasty ingredients. The passion fruit juice was good too. I also enjoyed the spicy Pickliz.

Chris C.

Yelp
I love Chef Creole. The food is consistent with a nice selection and great prices. I enjoy both locations. The 54th street location takes forever so hit it on off hours.

Summer D.

Yelp
I came in for some conch fritters and let me tell you that was the worst fritters I ever had. Must be a different cook because it never use to be like that. Just an advice for the owner, please get rid of that cook or your business will lose a lot of loyal customers. I came in on 12/27/2023. Fritters were fried completely on the outside but doughy on the inside. Not moist. Just dry dough. I paid $15.00 for 6 large dry dough... it use to be 4 fritters now they changed it to 6 nasty dough paying a lot more. Beware.

Ashley D.

Yelp
The food was amazing! The shrimp fried well and plantains thin and crispy I just need more gravy and they won't let you buy extra sauce.

Renae C.

Yelp
Boy food was bussing love the service place very clean fast food was out less than 10 min love Renae and Nola very nice people

FreshNFoodie C.

Yelp
Wow! The seasoning and flavorzzz are out of this world. I ordered the jerk wings they were absolutely and the creole shrimp! Left me speechless The portions are huge! So much flavor and very fair prices for Miami. The chef here is the goat. This is a must try in the (305)!

Chef B.

Yelp
Best Haitian food in the city hands down and at the MIA airport ..n y so many characters

Khanye G.

Yelp

Yelp
Its understandable that the prices have gone up a bit, however the quality/quantity has to remain the same or at least go up as well, you can't have it both ways! I came in on Friday night and ordered a few things, including an order of conch fritters which are my favorite! When I got home I bit into one and it was alright, extremely greasy, a little burned, but no conch... so I tried again & again, & again... I thought I was crazy, until my husband said the same thing, it seems like they forgot the conch?? I paid $15 for an order of fried batter. literally not even one small piece in any of the fritters! it was too late to go back as it was closed already, I went back the next day and was told that I need to come back when there is a manager there. I think it's a little insane that the employees do not have the power to even replace the customer's food. You guys need to do better! There is no phone number to call, so I have to waste more gas to come back when a manager may be I'm duty! these have been the most expensive order of "no conch" fritters that I have ever had!

Danette D.

Yelp
I have been dying to try authentic Haitian food and a friend's cousin who is Haitian by the way... suggested I give them a try and they did not disappoint. My girl decided to go with the oxtails and although not the same as Jamaican oxtails they were very tender and flavorful. I wanted a more authentic Haitian dish and went with the Griot (fried pork), full of flavor and a nice crisp crunch, rice and green peas (which was recommended, however I was told I should have gotten the black rice) and the fried green plantain which I actually enjoyed. I would definitely visit again!

Harry A.

Yelp
Chef Creole is definitely a staple in Miami when when comes down to Caribbean restaurants. This Haitian cuisine will never fail you. And the prices are reasonable. I've been eating at at the location on 54th St for a long time now. Since I discovered they opened one on 119th street, I've been coming here at least once a week. The fried fish filet is fire, the fruit as off the chain. Fried conk is delicious. They have a a good menu, but I can only speak on what I've tried, and so far I have no complaints what so ever. Only advise I recommend is calling in your order before getting to the location. Like that when you arrive your food is ready. For it may be heavy volume of customers. And also make sure you are calling in your order at the correct location. Promise this place is fire!

Brittany W.

Yelp
I honestly don't see what the hype is about Chef Creole. Their food is not all that. You can get way better food from these authentic hole on the wall Haitian restaurants. Chef Creole is very Americanized and I think that's why Americans like it. Ask a Haitian where to get good Haitian food from and watch their answer not be Chef Creole. I'm not Haitian but I have a lot of Haitian friends and Chef Creole is not where it's at. And another thing their food portions are way too small. You pay all that money for their food and it's basically a kids meal. Each locations good taste different. This location food taste different than the one 54th Street. That's what I don't like about franchises. The location in particular the waitress was so rude. To me our food wasn't fresh and I had about 5 oxtails bones out of my entire plate. The meat was very scarce. The only thing that I'd give Chef Creole credit for and the only that I literally go to then for is pikliz. I like that the vegetables are finely chopped. Other than that I don't want anything from here.

Levida W.

Yelp
I paid $16.00 for filet fish and got a 3 piece of fish nuggets. This place over charge and under serve. They have really gone down while prices went up

Jamie R.

Yelp
Chef Creole has always been a hit with me! I absolutely love their food. I always visit the restaurant on 119th street and the customer service is always so great! My food is always fresh, hot and delicious! I usually get the fish fillet , the fried chicken or the shrimp. I tried the creole shrimp for the first time and I'm hooked! I don't think you can order the wrong thing here. My suggestion is order with your eyes close, surprise yourself lol I'm sure you'll love your meal!

Onrea R.

Yelp
Coming from Georgia I always look forward to visiting Miami and my first stop is Chef Creole. My husband and I were excited to come back to this location. As an American, my original experience with Chef Creole was great. I ordered one of everything on the menu. This place was my orientation into Haitian cuisine. I loved the first visit. So imagine my disappointment when I come back and get the horrible food that I received last night. Nothing was good at all. They were out of griot and I received exactly 3 oxtails after paying 30 dollars for them and the rice was poorly thrown together. My stewed conch was not even close to being as good as the one I had when I originally came in and to top it off the place was dirty when we walked in. (The first visit it was clean and nice) Sad to say this location has MAJORLY fallen off. I won't ever be back when I come to Miami. I was outraged and my husband and I will not be back! I definitely feel taken advantage of and highly disappointed as we are limited with options for Haitian cuisine in Atlanta. This was the worst Haitian food and experience I've ever had honestly.

Patrick J.

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorite Haitian restaurants in Miami! I've been going to Chef Creole since I was 10 and it has never let me down. My favorite dish to order is the fried chicken platter. Rice and beans are always A1, fried plantains always come right, and the chicken is fried to perfection. Remember to get the Pikliz sauce. Every time I go here I pretty much douse my meal with it, but to be clear...the food is still great without it. Definitely one of South Florida's gems.

Joseph W.

Yelp
I gave them 4 stars because everytime i eat there, im 100% satisfied. Let me say this....the fried whole snapper is the best fried fish in dade county. The rice is also exceptional...very very good. Service isnt bad but i wouldnt eat inside just because i dont like the interior of the resturaunt. I have ordered the stewed chicken before and it was also great. No complaints from me. After a few months, I took away a star because of my last 2 previous visits, the fried snapper was over cooked...on both occasions. Paying $20 bucks for it doesn't help. To get home and find out the fish is dry and over cooked twice in a row is a major disappointment and the reason why I removed a star.

Kisha P.

Yelp
This was my first time at Chef Creole. I decided to try it because I was craving griot (fried pork), and heard good things about this place. I was definitely satisfied with my first visit here. The customer service was great, we were greeted as soon as we entered. The food was also delicious! I order griot with fried plantains and beans with rice. Personally I wish they would serve a bigger portion of the griot but was overall pleased. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the inside of the restaurant. It feels too empty and out dated.

Bella F.

Yelp
We tried to call ahead phone just rang! So no pre/order. We are tourist and was about 10 mins from our hotel. Uber ride )5.00. Red beans and rice amazing, sweet plantains yummy oxtails were Okay I've had better. Food took 15mins cooked To order. Fish was fresh! Red velvet cake Fresh, moist homemade

Yelp
Chef Creole is by far one of the most reputable names in Haitian cuisine throughout South Florida. From their savory griot served atop plantains with rice and beans to their noteworthy oxtail and fried seafood; they certainly know how to represent their savory recipes and flavors in a perfectly executed form. How do you not lick your fingers and ask for more sauce to douse all over your freshly prepared meal? The conch salad is one of my favorites and I can tell it's fresh which is always an important factor when choosing your seafood. Of course, there's a plethora of fried goodness but the steamed shrimp aren't boring in any way so don't misunderstand the description for any thing less than the best. The plantains could be a bit thinner but I try to get alternative sides when I come here such as the Joumoo soup because it's rare to bump into in comparison with your average order of fries. The wings are great and it's easy to order up a feast here because it's always good to have leftovers for later. I guzzled it down with a local Haitian soda and left completely satisfied. The next time I come, I gotta order the snapper because the table next to us ordered it and it looked meaty and crunchy in all the right ways.

C A.

Yelp
COVID friendly!!! Advise to call in, BEST FOOD IN THE CITY, and I travel around the city a lot. I recommend number 6: fish fillet dinner with sweet plantains. You won't go wrong

Debbie D.

Yelp
Just left Chef creole for lunch. The place was empty however; I could not place a phone order. I ordered fish filet special with beans and rice and salad. Salad was bland only packets of French salad dressing and made with lettuce, onion and tomato only. There should at least be a variety of salad dressing to choose from. I received my fish cold an rubbery like it was fresh from the microwave. Upon complaint to the cashier she could only say sorry. No let us make it over or here's a credit or nothing. This is the worst food I have ever received from this place will not be going AGAIN!!! Actually the salad was the best thing on the plate!!!

Ajani J.

Yelp
Beware!!!! Check your order before you leave because it is likely to be incomplete! There is no working number for this location to get it corrected if there is an error. They will never get my money again! Thieves!

Lakwetta B.

Yelp
Great resturant with really Awesome food. I work for TSA and the generosity that Chef Creole has showed us is remarkable and unprecedented. Chef creole was the first to stand up and help in a time of need. They set the standards. Please stop by and visit Chef Creole, you will not regret it.

Shanelle D.

Yelp
Amazing is an understatement. Came all the way from Cali for this and was treated like a QUEEN!!! Amazing food!! Yaaaaaaaaas to the fried fish!!!!!!!!!

Terry L.

Yelp
Truth be told, for years, I used to come to Chef Creole but stopped as I was over doing it and everything started tasting the same. There were only three locations back then, so you can imagine my surprise when I was driving in this neighborhood and spotted a big bright building with the Chef Creole signage; I just knew I had to stop and give it a try again and ahhhhhhh man... How great it was! The first thing I noticed was the size of this location, in comparison to the others, it's pretty big. You'll notice the many Caribbean flags hanging from the ceiling, the large dining room with plenty of seating and a long bar where you can choose to dine. You first order your food at the bar and can decide to take it to go or dine in. The customer service was OK, they simply took my order and obtained my payment (nothing above and beyond). The food was great. I ordered the following... Chicken Wings with the choice side of French Fries (lunch special) which I believe was $5! I was given about 5 large chicken wings and they were fried to perfection. Sometimes places fry chicken wings too hard and they come out as bricks. This place fries them to crispy heaven while maintaining the inner moist! The breading is seasoned just right. The fries were just OK as they could have used some salt or Cajun seasoning! Fried Shrimp with my choice of rice and peas with fried green plantain. Mannnn, let me tell YOU! I'm going to call it and say this is the most addictive and best tasting fried shrimp I have ever had - not too much breading and generous in size. The shrimps usually come out curved with the tail on and the seasoning makes you want to lick your fingers (no joke). The rice and beans fill the top of the plate will certainly compliment your choice of protein. The green plantains are fried crispy and crave you wanting more. The conch fritters were a great way to start. There were crispy on the outside and tender on the outside. Beware that it's spicy but IMO it makes the dish even better. Each dish is complimented with a little container of Pikliz which is a spicy vegetable slaw composed of carrots, cabbage and chiles soaked in vinegar to create a spicy-sour taste. Typically you would dip or throw this slaw on your meat but because I love the spice I throw it on my rice as well! I also love the fruit punch and lemonade that they have on site, it's just oh so addicting and sweet! I can never leave without a cup! Although there may be some other restaurants that may taste a bit more authentic in terms of Haitian cuisines... Don't pass up on this restaurant as you will not be disappointed with the flavors in each dish. More than likely you'll see me in a love triangle with the fried shrimp, if so, say Hello!

Tamika P.

Yelp
I always order the fried snapper its the best!!!The beans & rice is good also..I've also tried the griot not to much of a fan it was fried to hard..

Destiny R.

Yelp
This is my go to creole restaurant in Miami. I typically get fried pork or Ox-tails, they're always very delicious! I won't lie I could use a little more meat for the huge amount of rice they scoop, but I won't complain.

Yvette W.

Yelp
I love they fried conch balls, rice and bean, sautéed shrimp with extra pikliz. Food is always fresh and worth the money spent

Xen R.

Yelp
Excellent customer service! I set up in here and worked for almost two hours while eating delicious oxtail and rice and beans. You have to stop by

Kelly C.

Yelp
Good creole shrimp. Fried pork was less than amazing. Anthony Boudain's favorite. They have a drive thru.

Melli B.

Yelp
I don't understand this...it's almost like magic. I ordered a fried conch and when she opened the container to show me my order, it appeared to be just that. I got back to my office and took the first bite but there was no conch inside. I searched every piece and somehow, they managed to sell me a bunch of fried flour. One or two pieces had microscopic conch inside of a lot of crisp deep fried air. I am flabbergasted!!! How'd they do that? How do you deep fry air!!! Even more flabbergasted that she opened the container to show me my deep fried air and then allowed me to pay $13.50 for fried air. And look, I know people exaggerate often but I am speaking the absolute truth here. I took pics to prove it. Just see for yourself. Lol! I've been here before and I've not had complaints in the past but really? This is just a rip off! I'm so disappointed in you Chef Creole. I would have preferred you to tell me you ran out rather than serve me this. And then you give me Pikliz too? Pikliz is not a good accompaniment to deep fried air!

Janoc M.

Yelp
Went in for lunch with my team and everyone loved it. The establishment looks simple, but don't be fooled by your eyes. First off, they have very friendly service, which is rare to find. Second, their food. Their fried conch, fried plantains, oxtail, and their rice and beans were delicious! Add that to their plentiful servings, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Keep in mind, their menu isn't huge, which to my point of view, makes it so much better. They excel at what they offer. This was my first visit, I'm definitely going to have to come back.

Jessica B.

Yelp
As out of towners we knew we had to get our hands on some Haitian dishes so when we were recommended chef creole we went straight there. We got everything on the menu oxtail, snapper, shrimp and lobster. Everything was excellent !if your willing to wait definitely make it a point to go.

Pam P.

Yelp
My friend took me here because I have a new found love for conch. I was not disappointed. I had the fried conch with fries and it was good. I also tried her conch salad and it was good too and not spicy. I'm definitely going back.

Maya D.

Yelp
The service is extremely slow. It takes forever for them to cash you out. They need a new system. The cashiers also have nonchalant attitudes. I waited more than I should because they lost my ticket and I continued to ask the cashier to check on my order when at the last minute told me my ticket was lost. Not only that, my food tasted like it was made in five minutes.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Shout out to Chef C for providing FREE lunches for our furloughed Government Employees at the Miami International Airport. Hats off to you. You will be blessed

Nouf A.

Yelp
Simply amazing authentic Haitian food. It is def worth a visit in Little Haiti. I recommend getting #9 (the shrimp dish) steamed. The shrimp comes in a deliciously flavoured sauce.

Sam B.

Yelp
Fritta was good. I highly recommend going here just for the hell of it the food is worth it.

Carl-Frederick F.

Yelp
Portion great.taste great.representation of the Haitian cuisine on point.price, reasonable .service ,horrible and very disappointing that they do not serve the most popular Haitian cola.you would expect them to have at least that.overall for those who never had Haitian food ,this will give you a fair idea

Arnaud N.

Yelp
I usually go here almost everytime my job pays for my food. The food here is great and brings out the TRUE Haitian culture behind cooking
