My partner and I moved to Natomas about a year and a half ago; Chef Frank is our favorite sushi restaurant! We have had miso soup, chu-toro, California roll, spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll, sunset roll, and super star roll. All have been fresh and wonderful. Cool fact- they use real crab in their California roll, unlike most places that use imitation crab (good to know for those with allergies like me) Service has always been great. Sometimes you’ll see Chef Frank behind the counter putting together a dish or refilling your water while asking how everything is tasting. We prefer to sit at the bar (when they’re not doing omakase) and watch the chefs do their magic. I always recommend this place to others!

Google
Can’t Believe I Just Found This Place! I seriously can’t believe I’m only trying this spot now—I literally live right around the corner! This Japanese restaurant is an absolute gem. The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Every bite felt like a treat. The rest of the menu is just as good—high-quality ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors all around. The service was amazing—super friendly and attentive without being over the top. The atmosphere is cozy but modern, with a calm, welcoming vibe that made the whole dining experience even better. And the parking? Tons of it. No stress I already can’t wait to come back—and next time, I’m definitely trying their Omakase. If you’re in the area (or even if you’re not), do yourself a favor and check this place out. Total hidden gem!

Great spot for an elevated sushi experience! We sat at the bar and were able to watch the chefs work their magic behind the counter. We ordered the Hokkaido roll, the Sunset roll, Unagi, Wagyu, and yellowtail collar appetizer. Everything was delicious and beautiful prepared. We also had the sapporo on draft and a sake shot! 10/10 recommend.

Google
Super friendly staff with some phenomenal sushi. Was traveling for work, and did not want a chain near airport - and this place was perfect. Sat at the sushi bar, enjoyed a couple rolls, some wine and conversation with the chefs. Definitely worth stopping by when in the area.

Google
Probably one of the best sushi restaurants in Sac! Did the Omakase for $125, a great value, as they threw in a couple complimentary sake bombs! The quality of the fish was fantastic and all the flavors worked together well!

Google
Got recommended by a friend to try this place. Good quality Japanese food. One of the better ones I’ve had in the area. The rolls were delicious and had a nice balance of flavors. None of that imitation crab meat here😆The spicy scallop hand roll was a first for me and it was delicious. Would recommend this place!

Google
This is a very nice place for truly amazing and delicious rolls, sashimi and oysters were exceptionally good. You can also order chardonnay or other wine to your seafood dish. Nice and polite personnel. I'd definitely return to taste more of their awesome dishes 😋

Google
This place is AWESOME. The service was great. The food was outstanding. It's a little pricy, but it's worth it. ($50 a person). But as you see in pictures it was a lot of excellent food. The whole experience is just that. An experience. Great place for a date night or just to hang out with friends.

Yelp
Came here with some fellow yelpers as we have a love for good sushi. Let me tell ya'll, this place does not disappoint. We had the omakase sushi experience. Def worth it! It's only if Fridays and Saturdays and you have to make a reservation. You'll sit at the sushi bar where the chef will directly hand you your sushi. We enjoyed it so much! Def worth it. No caption of the photos as it was chef's special.

Yelp
I loved my first visit here, but was a bit underwhelmed the second time I stopped by. I came mid-week my first visit and fish tasted so fresh! When I came on a Sunday, for my second visit, some of the fish in the mystery box were fishy. (Not because they are "fishy" fish, but because that's what happens when fish gets on the older side.) I was also wanting to order their roll with chu-toro, but they had since taken that out of their roll and replaced it with a cheaper fish. Such a letdown! Service remained good. Overall, still a good sashimi place, but not as eager to come back in the future as I once was.

Yelp
I came here today for sushi and a shooter. The service was not properly done, because there were no water refills until I was about to leave. The sushi was delicious but took awhile longer than expected. We sadly did not enjoy the oyster shooter. My sister and I came into the restaurant today and it was not packed. The receptionist said it's required to have reservations, but online it says nothing specific about reservations being a requirement to eat here. It was around 5 pm and I saw at least 6 tables empty and several chairs open. Next time, I will pass, because the employees made it feel very unwelcoming. As a first time guest, this should had been taken into consideration when we arrived. The hype for this place is not that necessary.

Yelp
Chef Frank's has been on our list to try for a while now and it's definitely worth it. The 12 piece sashimi mix was of with sake (salmon), shiromaguro, akami, and hamachi. Very fresh and delicious. The Hokkaido roll was phenomenal, smoky, savory, a flavor bomb and the raw scallop melts on the tongue. We ordered a glass of Hakutsuru sake, light and dry rate that at 4 out of 5. Slightly chilled, and served in a wine glass. The service was extremely attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Stopped in for a business lunch. Ordered some sashimi and a roll. Everything was really fresh. Pieces were big! Service was good. Place is small but was not busy by the time we got there Really enjoyed and would come back!

Yelp
Our office ordered lunch here today and the sushi was amazing. For some odd reason 3/4 of the office ordered the Natomas roll. The roll had some of the freshest ingredients I have ever experienced in sushi. On the down side our rolls were piled into the same box so it would be great if there was a way to designate names and items for each person's order. Overall fantastic sushi.

Yelp
I've dined in and ordered takeout from Chef Frank Japanese Cuisine and it's always a great experience. They have plenty of parking available and the ambiance inside is great for a date night, a business meal, or just a fun time with friends. When I order takeout it's always so thoughtfully packaged and the meal still looks beautifully presented even after bringing it back home to enjoy. The mystery box is a favorite, but I've been trying to order different items from the menu each time I visit. I've fallen in love with their hand rolls and fresh oysters as well. The staff is very attentive when you're dining in, and if you have the option you should sit at the sushi bar. It's always a great experience. I really love how consistent they are, how fresh the fish is and how they think about the full customer experience whether you're dining in or taking food home.

Yelp
This was my third time here. It was for Fathers day. We had reservations and got seated right away. The place was packed. Service was great , plus I knew one of the waitresses. I got the oysters and they were perfect. Yummy. Next was the 24 piece sashimi. So fresh. I loved it. So good quality. Had to have a glass of sake to. So good. Always a great time here even on a busy holiday. The place is really clean and you see the Sushi chefs doing their thing at the bar area.

Yelp
Loved the clean environment and pleasant surroundings. Relaxing atmosphere and a male waiter was so welcoming and accommodating when our female waitress was busy. She was efficient. The food was delicious! We had the bento box lunches. I had beef teriyaki, mixed tempura and it was served with creamy dressing on salad and beautifully prepared rice. She enjoyed the mixed tempura and salmon. We shared the spicy garlic edamame and pickled cucumber. The beef was not as tender as I would have liked but the flavor made up for it. The star was the mixed tempura served with a delicate dipping sauce. The crunchy yet light texture was not the best I've had, but it was pretty stellar! I definitely intend to return. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to go to. Always great service. Shout out to I think her name is Nikki. She always has a smile and is very helpful and kind. Everybody is nice. Place is always clean. No uncleared tables. Comments from recent visits. What I liked: (1) Chirashi, third in my chirashi series trying it from different places. The bowl had akami, albacore, o-toro, sake toro, and hamachi. Fish is fresh. The rice is not seasoned but is perfectly cooked. Just enough for the amount of fish. I also enjoyed the one I had last year. What I like about chirashi is you never know what you're getting and Chef Frank offers that. Chirashi from other places have same fish every visit. (2) Sashimi Mix. It had albacore, sake, madai (sea bream), and kinmedai (golden eye snapper). Fresh fish. Favorite was the salmon (as always) and sea bream. Same as chirashi you never know what you're getting. It's a surprise. This is my go to place for sashimi. What I didn't like: (1) Sunset Roll. I like soft shell crab and this has soft shell crab and spicy tuna inside topped with assorted fish. I liked it in the beginning but the last two piece had chewy fish on top. (2) Takeout/To go orders. Ordered for delivery Salmon Maki, Natomas Roll, and Lion King Roll. The salmon maki was falling apart. The rolls had mushy sushi rice. I feel in my experience quality of food not the same as dine in. Prefer to dine in. Thank you.

Yelp
Came here after seeing the boing reviews and I was not disappointed in the lightest. I didn't expect sashimi quality to be this high and fresh in Sacramento after being used to the Bay Area, but the sashimi mix tasted like an absolute treat (and you could honestly tell even from the photo). Staff was friendly and welcoming the entire time, and food was also served quickly. I'll definitely visit again when I'm back in Sacramento.

Yelp
The food is consistently good no matter how busy or how slow they are top quality and honestly, they are the most kindest people

Yelp
Came here with a friend after someone recommended this place. Got a reservation and when we arrived we noticed that every table was already reserved. This was surprising since we booked dinner at 5pm so we could catch an early evening flight out of town. The fish was all fresh it didn't need much as each piece melted in our mouths. We couldn't decide on what we wanted to eat so we grabbed a couple rolls, some hand rolls, and nigiri Will definitely come back

Yelp
Overall a solid experience! Great spot for sushi lovers who want quality without breaking the bank. Would definitely come back! For regular dining, the prices were super reasonable -- everything we ordered felt worth it, especially considering the quality of the fish. We didn't go for the omakase set, but based on the pricing, it seemed a bit steep compared to the rest of the menu. Honestly, there's plenty to enjoy without it. The oysters were a standout -- so fresh and perfectly dressed with toppings that complemented them without overpowering. We ended up ordering a second round! If you're coming with a group, the mystery box is a fun and tasty option -- a nice way to share a good variety of raw fish. All the fish dishes we tried were fresh and well-prepared. Only minor miss for me was the Lion King roll -- it came with cream cheese, which isn't my favorite in sushi. Not what I was expecting, but the rest of the roll was fine. Also, a nice touch -- if it's your birthday, they give you a free dessert! Always love when places do that.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant and we were so glad we did! We started with Edamame, warm Sake and a Sapporo. We ordered 2 rolls and a Bento box. We got the Lion King and Natomas rolls. The bento box came with teriyaki salmon, three pieces of tempura, rice, salad, and soup. The service was quick, friendly and attentive. No wonder almost everyone who has visited, has given them 5 Stars! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Still one of the best spots for sushi in Sac. The $20 Bento Box dinner is a good deal. The best roll there is the Superstar Roll. I highly recommend this place. Service was excellent. Restaurant is nice and clean. I was able to watch the NBA game while eating sushi lol.

Yelp
Great food in an unassuming strip mall in Natomas. This is one of my top recommendations in all the Sacramento area.

Yelp
Love it!!! If I could give Chef Frank 's more stars, I absolutely would! My daughter and I had the pleasure of experiencing their Omakase, a reservation only experience, available on select days (check their profile for details). From start to finish, it was nothing short of exquisite. The chef's kept everyone engaged, sharing insights about each dish while we indulged in beautifully crafted bites. Each bite just melted in your mouth and "wow"! The presentation was flawless, and the pace of the meal was perfectly timed and we did not feel rushed at all. A special shout out to Nikki, one of the hostess, who was who was on top of everything. She quickly cleared the plates while ensuring each guest was well taken care of. The chef's worked with such speed and precision, yet made everything look so effortless. Overall, whether you're booking an Omaka experience or simply stopping by for sushi, Chef Frank is a must try and my go to spot for everything sushi. And it's always an amazing experience when the Chef's are fun!

Yelp
Birthday dinner 2025 at Chef Frank was fire! Reservations made in advance, table or booth seating. If you're doing omakase then you get to sit at the sushi bar of course. Located next to the taqueria and the empty Pizza Press spot, parking is competitive as it's shared with Five Guys, Saigon Alley, Dickey's BBQ, Wells Fargo. Nikki was our awesome server. To start we had the shrimp tempura and geso karaage. One person had the dinner bento box (tonkatsu and beef teriyaki), one had the beef udon, the other got a Crunch Roll and Land Park, and Hokkaido. The rolls were so good there were seconds ordered. I originally wanted the Large Sashimi Mix (chef's choice, 24 pieces, 6 different fish) but ultimately decided on the Mystery Box: 3 kinds of fish with dressing, 3 kinds of fish with sunomono, 3 kinds of fish with sushi rice. I forget exactly which fish I all got, but there was definitely salmon, scallop, unagi, tuna, fatty tuna...2 huge pieces of each kind of fish, and interesting flavors, top quality sashimi! For birthdays you choose a free dessert, and I got the azuma green tea cheesecake which came with a sparkler candle and birthday song over the speakers. My friends brought gifts and a small cake and we were also able to cut and serve that too, and group photos were also obliged. Super appreciate the great service and meal!

Yelp
This restaurant is new in my neighborhood so we decided to sit at the bar and try it. The food was delicious! The roll I ate had salmon on top and it was buttery delicious. I believe it was the Lion roll. My husband also liked the Natomas roll and the hand roll he had. The service was great she was friendly and prompt to our requests. We will definitely be back again to try something new. If you haven't gone well get over there!!

Yelp
This is the best Japanese restaurant I've been to in Sacramento, offering authentic Japanese sushi. The food quality, taste, and service are exceptional. I truly enjoyed their Omotenashi (warm hospitality) ‼ Until I discovered this restaurant, I had never experienced the same level of satisfaction as I do in Japan. As a Japanese person, I never expected to find Uni (Sea urchin) of this quality here, but they import it directly from Japan! The seafood is incredibly fresh, and each dish is prepared with great care and precision. The thoughtful service made the experience even more special. :) We visited on Valentine's Day without realizing it was a reservation-only night, but luckily, we got seats due to a cancellation. We were the first customers waiting at the door, and a very kind staff member asked if we'd like to dine in. Thanks to him, we were able to enjoy the Omakase course on this special day. Thank you so much!

Yelp
Who knew this spot was just the perfect little nookie in Natomas. I came here for a quick bite before a holiday party and sat at the bar. Little to my knowledge they were doing a special omakase tasting on one side of the bar. The chefs offered us free sake shots just because the omakase experience guests were taking one. THE HOSPITALITY! The food looked amazing on their side, but my food was delicious! I shared a super star roll and some jalapeño appetizer with my friend. The jalapeño appetizer 10/10!!! Best jalapeño dish in Sacramento! I got a dinner special with salmon and fried chicken and it was good also. 7/10. All in all, the food and great first time experience was something id come back for.

Yelp
Our friend recommended this spot so of course we gave it a shot. Initially, we intended to have their omakase menu but the restaurant said it was only available for dinner and not lunch. We went on a Saturday at noon and were probably the only guests during the hour, surprisingly. The service was decent and fast, just nothing to remember. The woman that brought out the food was nice but the male server didn't seem to have a friendly demeanor. We ordered the luxury oysters, uni, yuzu hamachi, geso karaage, natomas roll, and the premium nigiri mix. The items we ordered tasted extremely fresh, freshest we've had in a verrryyy long time. Ambiance was mediocre and parking was ample. I would recommend this spot for sushi lovers who want authentic and fresh as you can almost get. Side note: something my partner ate did cause an upset stomach from this meal but not full blown food poisoning, maybe mild and was resolved quickly.

Yelp
Was busy when we came in on a Monday evening at 8pm! The staff is superrrrr friendly and accommodating for kids. The vegan options were great too. Had the fried tofu, tempura and vegetable roll. All were good!!! Kids had udon and loved it, as well as the Natomas Roll.

Yelp
Food and service were amazing! This place is one of my favorite sushi places hands down! Best quality in Natomas!!!

Yelp
Overall? This spot was a total win for date night. We chose it for the convenience of being close to childcare, but it turned out to be a standout experience. Honestly, I'd pick this place over Kru, the fish quality was on par, but the preparation and presentation here were next level. We came on a random weeknight, and the service was fast and friendly. The ambience? Clean, crisp, and the perfect complement to the food Here's what we had: Miso Soup (4/5): Solid umami flavor, served at just the right temperature. Could've used more tofu, and mushrooms would've been a great addition. Still, for $3, it's hard to beat Umi Masa (Ocean Trout, 5/5): Awesome. Fresh, vibrant color with the perfect fish to rice ratio. The truffle on top was a genius touch, it paired beautifully with the fish Super Star Roll (5/5): Every ingredient worked together seamlessly for an incredible flavor profile. The presentation was top notch, with just the right balance of rice and filling. No over the top sauces stealing the spotlight, just pure unadulterated flavor 12-Piece Nigiri Sampler (5/5): Wow. The presentation alone was worth it, but the freshly made wasabi stole the show. It's such a rarity to find, and it elevated the whole experience. Generous portions, vibrant colors, and the fish was fresh, fatty, and full of flavor Highly recommend this place

Yelp
A more perfect sushi spot does not exist in Sacramento! Though the outside is unassuming and plain, the inside is anything but. So happy to have Chef Frank nearby! 1) The staff are awesome. Our waitress had great recs and also joined us in our Yuzu bombs. She was a fun addition to the experience! 2) We ordered so many items, I can't remember them all. Absolutely everything was incredible! I couldn't pick one favorite dish and I also forgot to take a lot of photos. As something hit the table, we were inhaling it. The Del Paso Roll, the Pepperfin, and the Yuzu Himachi were all big highlights! 3) The pricing is perfect. You get top-tier sushi, plated beautifully without the snobby prices. Is it a little expensive? Yes. Is it 100% worth it? Absolutely. We've heard great things about their takeout presentation and about their udon as well. Cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal in all aspects! This place is fast delicious and high quality (the triple whammy). Our server Nikki was incredibly friendly and gave amazing recommendations. We got the Nigiri Special I believe and a roll. Everything was so fresh and wonderfully prepared. The uni was some of the best I've ever had and I've been to more than my fair share of sushi restaurants. The toro melted in our mouths and the salmon oh my goshhh. Selfishly...I hope this place stays secret but really it's on par with some of the best sushi we've ever had!

Yelp
This spot has been on my list for the longest time and I'm so glad I finally got to try it! I came for dinner and split the mystery box and the superstar roll. Everything was really yummy and I enjoyed all the cuts of fish that came with the mystery box! The servers and sushi chefs are friendly and it's fun sitting at the bar to watch them prep everything! Overall I would def come back if I'm in the area to try more of their menu and omakase!

Yelp
We reserved an Omakase experience at Chef Frank Sushi to treat ourselves during the hectic holiday season, and we were so glad we did! As we entered, we checked in with the staff on the left and got seated at the sushi bar immediately. Since we were the first party to arrive for the 5:00 pm seating, we had a few minutes to browse all the drink and appetizer options. My husband was wondering if we should order some tempura, but I stopped him as we didn't know how much food would come with the Omakase. Personally I think we got enough food so I was glad we didn't order anything else. The first course was the Agedashi Tomato, a tempura-fried tomato in dashi stock. The second course was a set of tuna sashimi from lean to fatty, and the third course was a black cod dish. They all tasted really delicious and presented in a beautiful way. The next course was a presentation of 10 handcrafted nigiri's from seared salmon to A5 Wagyu. My personal favorites were the uni, mackerel and a piece with tiny fishes (I forgot the name!). My husband really liked the seared salmon as the chili paste gave it a unique smoky flavor. The last course of the meal was a crab steamed egg dish, for dessert we tried the matcha & red mean panna cottas. Again they were all delicious. I also got to tried the vanila Mille Crepe and it was yummy as well. During our Omakase, we befriended a local couple and four expats living in Brazil, and it got rowdy fairly quickly as everyone had the Christmas cheer and were celebrating two birthdays. Chef Frank bought us a round of yuzu sake bombs and that was quite fun to cheers with everyone including the chefs. Before we knew it, everyone was buying rounds! I feared a hangover but knew better to reject drinks from my new friends so I enjoyed a few too many drinks. Overall, we had a good time and would highly recommend Chef Frank's Omakase experience to everyone we know!

Yelp
Came here for lunch and was seated quickly. Restaurant is a bit on the smaller side. Ordered the dragon roll and the land park roll along with the fried squid tentacles. The fried squid tentacles were freshly fried and hot. I enjoyed it along with the sauce it came with. The sushi rolls were also good. Service was very good. They were quick to clear out empty plates and refilling water.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner here for my friends birthday. Most of us got the mystery box which included 2 types of fish in each section. The fish was very tasty and fresh. I was pleasantly surprised about the eel, I'm not a huge fan of eel but the eel in the box was delicious. Not quite sure if it was quite worth $60 but none the less it was delicious. We also tried the yuzu sparkling wine which was also very tasty and not something I have seen before. Our server was very nice and took great care of us. The restaurant is small and cozy, nicely decorated and quiet. Would definitely go back but probably wouldn't do the mystery box again. The omakase looks worth trying!

Yelp
Have been here probably three or four times and love this place!!! The service, the food and if you happen to catch a birthday celebration they make it a festive celebration. The restaurant is immaculate and has a pleasant neighborhood vibe. Love everything I've ever had. Seriously, from sushi to noodles. Just darn good!!! Thank you for bringing this to Natomas, but I would travel to get there if it wasn't! Just one suggestion, if you get the steak bento make sure you tell them to not kill it twice. I've had it overcooked before still good but tough.
google avatar

Val N.

Yelp
Highly recommend getting the Mystery Box -- the fish is very fresh and melts in your mouth!! The toro was my favorite. The sushi rolls were also really good. We found the Mille crepe vanilla to be just okay -- wouldn't get again because it wasn't fresh. The service was quick and staff was friendly! Would definitely come back for the omakase experience.

Yelp
Food was decent. Service was horrible. Might come back to give it another try one day.

Yelp
Consistently the best sushi spot in Sacramento. These days it might be good to grab a reservation as it can get pretty crowded and run out of tables. The best bang for buck in terms of quality of the fish, rice, and overall ambience. Pro tip: order at least one order of the chu toro nigiri. Trust me, you wont regret it.

Yelp
I'd been anxiously waiting to try this new little gem, too bad I couldn't wait till dinner for omakase. I'm always excited to do omakase to experience the chef in action. Since we went during lunch, the mystery box will have to do. Loved the tasty variety, a definite abundance of flavors delighting your palette for sure! Most interesting were the baby crabs, never had those before. So cute, I almost didn't want to eat! Nice crunch. Who could resist A5 wagyu (ok, a vegetarian maybe)? Lovely, 72 oz, yummy cut, wrapped around ... Their oysters were the best I've tasted, clean shucking skills as well as adding the pretty tasty condiments. Too many places just shuck them and leave it to you to add the toppings. I forgot what kind of oysters they were but very plump and fresh. Loved them! Nigiri cuts were delicious and plenty. So tasty and fresh atop the perfect rice texture and flavor. I'm not a huge fan of white rice but I can't resist sushi rice! Sunset roll was the last item I tasted and I was quite stuffed and satisfied by then. A roll can't compare to any of the finer items I had so I'll just say it's a roll, and I could've done fine without ordering it. Service was friendly and attentive. It wasn't packed at lunch; therefore, we shouldn't have had to rearrange empty plates. We did; hence, the 4 stars instead of 5.

Yelp
I learned about Chef Frank Japanese Cuisine through friends who posted on SM having the time of their life eating at Chef Frank. I mean they literally had a conga line going around the restaurant, staff included! Since then, this spot has been on my list to try. Located in North Natomas, this spot easily became 1 of my new go to spots for delicious sushi! I went on a Thursday night with the wifey, no reservations and got there a little after 6pm for dinner. We were sat right away choosing bar over table. I really appreciated our waiter and watching the chef's put together the food. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and I am so thankful she suggested not to order that extra roll because we were FULL by the end of this meal. We started with the luxury oysters, mix tempura and Geso karaage. The luxury oysters just hit that spot something only oysters can do. Very rich in flavor and delicious. The Geso karaage was delicious and came with nice pieces of squid. The mix tempura also delivered well, the veggies were superb. For our main entrée we got the Mystery Box which includes 9 types of fish, 18 pieces total, some with dressing, some with sunomono and some with sushi rice. The box was outstanding. I watched the chef prepare it and was googley-eyed as it arrived. A great box to share with a partner. As if we didn't think this was enough, we also got 10 pieces of premium nigiri. Presentation, taste and atmosphere really made this a special meal. We sat next to a group who were usuals at Chef Franks and got to chatting, we ended up taking sharing a round of Sake Bombs with them and Chef Frank himself. Overall this was a great dinner night and I'm looking forward to returning!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! North of Thomas is needed an upscale Sushi restaurant for eons, and now chef Frank is here! First off, we love this place. We've dined in, we've ordered take away, and each experience is met with great customer service and tasty food! We've tried quite a few items on the menu, and frankly, you can't go wrong with any of the selections. Fam fav's: The littles love the Bento box. There is plenty of food and a nice variety. The chicken teriyaki wins out almost every time. The chicken is well made, and has just the right amount of teriyaki on each piece. Diners tip: request extra teriyaki sauce for the rice. The Lion King- tasty!! It's the perfect roll. Nice sized pieces. Everything tastes fresh. It's a must. I usually request extra sauce for my rolls, as I prefer that over soy sauce. The Land Park roll is a great roll that everyone enjoys. The shrimp tempura is light and not greasy. Nigiri- if you love sushi, you'll want to try this amazing variety. The O Toro is my favorite. It's a great fatty tuna that is just perfect. It's sliced and presented beautifully. Sake Toro is a must try. It's been one of the best that I've trued. It's a nice slice of salmon belly. It's sweet, it's tasty, it's delish!! Pepperfin. It's my go to, every time I have sushi. It's how I truly rate my experience. If it's too thick, I'm not a fan. If it's too thin, then the restaurant is skimping. It is a Goldilocks moment. It needs to be just right. And Chef Frank, makes it just right. The perfect amount of sauce and fish. It's mouthwatering good. Great service. Good food. It's definitely on the pricier scale, but you're worth it!

Yelp
Have tried just a walk in dinner here - fast service on a weekend. We tried oysters - pretty fresh. My bf ordered the mystery box which is pretty popular and said it was very good, not a fishy taste, can tell it's fresh and quality fish. I ordered the rice bowl with assorted fish which was so good! And filling! You are definitely paying for quality sushi. We came back last weekend for omakase. I made reservations 1 month in advance. They offer it Friday and Saturday at 5 and 7:30. There were three appetizers prior to the 10 piece selection followed by egg soufflé and your choice of dessert. It is a little pricy but I can tell you this omakase was one of the best I have had - coming from someone that lived in OC and have tried multiple amazing sushi places - this one is one of the best in sac! Service is 10/10 and intimate setting inside.

Yelp
The food was beautiful, but nothing we ate was very good. It was all so-so to not good. The fancy oysters were beautiful, but way too sweet. The yuzu hamachi had a thick sauce with too much jalapeno instead of ponzu. The sumamono was overly vinegary. The oyster shooters were bland with too much sake, and not enough flavor. Good ikura are salty. Poor quality ikura is sweet. The ikura was VERY sweet. I have no idea why it's rated so highly. Maybe the locals here just don't know good sushi. It was the same as when I lived in Henderson, NV and sushi places were highly rated but not good. Ginza is amazing and is about 15 min from Chef Frank's. I'll go there next time.

Yelp
Chef Franks is definitely a hidden gem when it comes to sushi. All we did was just have Chef Frank choose for us and he definitely did not disappoint. All the sushi we received was just top tier and amazing. The experience was definitely amazing from even the start. Instead of ginger, we were served with some other pickled type ingredient as our palette cleanser and that was pretty interesting. The sushi all have amazing flavors and were good by itself. None of them needed additional soy sauce as it was already sauced and garnished with flavors from the chef himself. Other than the amazing sushi, the yuzu bomb was really interesting as well. You drop a shot of yuzu in a small cup of beer and drink it. It's one of the most refreshing drinks I've had in a while and it made me really like the drink. This place also has a wide variety of Junmai Daiginjo sake which is a really good cold sake that I'd recommend. Born Gold Junmai Daiginjo was really good and I'd recommend that. This is kind of a little small restaurant but definite packed with big flavors. If you get a chance, always try to sit at the bar as you can see the Chef's at work. If there's something that looks interesting, you can also even ask them what that is and probably even order it yourself.

Yelp
Really delicious. The sushi here is out of this world. The nigiri plate is pricey but excellent, but the MYSTERY BOX is insanely good - and truly, enough food for two people. No lines, great food, and if you don't want sushi - well, if you don't want sushi, you oughta go somewhere else, because the sushi here is BOMB. But for real, if you don't want sushi, they have plenty of cooked foods at a fair price point. The sushi is quite a bit more expensive, but it's also *EXCELLENT.*

Yelp
Decided to give Chef Frank another try since last time, I thought it was ok good. It was a disappointment this time and I don't think I will come back. I order through DoorDash around 11:30am for lunch. I ordered the chirashi don, scallop, salmon, salmon toro, o-toro, trout onigiri and the super star roll . The nigiri were good, especially the scallop. I like the rice ratio, it was on the lighter side which I like. The nigiri fish was fresh but none make me say it was perfect. Chirashi - supposedly it should have 9 pieces and I got 15 pieces ... I should be happy right? NO.. all this pieces are like the ends. The hamachi and this white fish it was crunchy. The albacore sashimi was meh, I have to spit out a hamachi piece since it had sinew. The 4 pieces of octopus is just so hard to chew. The only good piece in this chirashi is the salmon and tuna. I have never experience this bad of a chirashi. The super star roll was ok, supposedly it should have truffles.. and yes it did has a .5 cm dot on each piece. I didn't taste any truffle or mushroom sauce or whatsoever. It was bland but edible. It regret going to chef frank, seriously. I didn't expect that I was given the leftovers end of whatever fish they had. A high quality restaurant should never make this mistakes. This place is overrated for so many 5 stars review.

Yelp
I used to think that people who say, "Take my money and get in my belly" were the most annoying people on the face of the earth, but now, I am a believer of the saying. First, LOOK at how PRETTY the rolls are. In today's modern society, rolls are increasingly accepted, but at this place, I'll embrace ALL rolls. They just are beautiful to look at. Even if the rolls get into my belly, it was WORTH it! Secondly, the sushi is sold at a reasonable price for the quality that you get. If you're loaded with money, come and spend it here. If you're tight on money, come when you're not starving bc the temptation to buy these rolls is an obstacle course that only those with strong self-control can handle. 5 stars for service, ambiance, food quality, and prices! I will, definitely, come get my rolls here. If I'm going to add on rolls to my body, this is the place to go!

Yelp
HIGHLY recommend. I love that I live so close to this place because it's so easily accessible! All the staff has been extremely welcoming every single time I've been there. The food has been consistently amazing. The sushi is very fresh and beautifully prepared. I recommend checking in on open table beforehand. The place can be really loud when they're busy but still a good place for a date. :)

Yelp
My family and I frequently visit this sushi spot, as it's one of the best in the Natomas area. The space feels very clean and has a modern Japandi style. The selection of sushi rolls and nigiri consistently exceeds our expectations. The Hokkaido roll and Dragon roll are personal favorites--they're incredibly savory, with the Hokkaido roll offering an especially rich umami flavor. We celebrated my father-in-law's birthday here and decided to try the 15-course omakase for the first time. It was an exceptional experience! The staff were incredibly hospitable, providing detailed descriptions of each dish as it was served, and they were more than happy to answer any questions we had. The 15-course omakase included: * Starter: Scallop Martini * Appetizer: Uni Crab Meat Monaka * Sashimi: Medai (Sea Bream) * Chawanmushi: Truffle Mushroom Steamed Egg * Nigiri: 10 Pieces of Premium Nigiri * Dessert: Red Bean Panna Cotta The food and service were outstanding, and my family left completely satisfied. Even our toddler, who had a bento box, thoroughly enjoyed his meal and finished everything. To top it off, the restaurant went above and beyond by giving him complimentary ice cream, which made his day. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine.

Yelp
The best Japanese food I've had in the states including kru in Sacramento. Since we got the omakase it was obviously a fixed meal for valentine's. Omakase is Friday and Saturday only. The uni was from Hokkaido, the otoro, chutoro, and Akamai was from Mexico. All of the fish were done properly just as they do in Japan, no need to add soy sauce especially for the nigiri since they put their own type of soy on there. I'd highly recommend it and it is totally worth the $125. I could go on and on but there are plenty of other reviews saying the same thing.
