"The Oak Hill restaurant is all about Chinese noodles, naturally, from spicy beef noodle soup to fried rice noodles, paired with excellent scallion pancakes. Look for and sibling restaurant Chen’s Noodle House up in Spicewood too. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

I have frequently visited this place, and the food has consistently been exceptional. In my opinion, the lunch special represents a reasonable bargain when compared to the recent price of comparable meals from other restaurants. The service is commendable, and I find it pleasant that there are rarely others present, as I enjoy the tranquility of the atmosphere. I've had no unsatisfactory experiences at all, and I hope to support them in their endeavor to offer an extensive menu of items.

I mostly wanted to add a review to counteract so many recent negative reviews. Me and my family went in on Thanksgiving Day to get a non-traditional meal. The food was quick, hot, and delicious! We had the fried dumplings, curry chicken fried rice, combination soft noodles, walnut shrimp, and Peking Pork. I would recommend any of the dishes! It is certainly set against a rustic background with evidence of cracked tiles and storage of restaurant items such as plates, forks, etc in plain view but the service was friendly and the food was great!

Rare find. So fresh and delicious!!! Authentic food, good service, clean, affordable. We had dumplings as our appetizer, pork chop in Peking sauce and BBQ pork soft noodles. Our new fav!!

Been coming for years, best Chinese food around, don’t let the looks from outside fool you. Got the lunch special for under $9. Order on the phone and is ready in 10 minutes.

I really enjoyed the noodle soups and dumplings here at Chen Z. I got the Lamb Noodle Soup which had fresh noodles and perfectly cut chunks of lamb in a broth with bok choy. The broth was decent, sadly not too much flavor, but still excellent. The huge portion size made up for that. We also had the pan fried dumplings (12) and they were amazing! Cooked well and fried just right. Not to mention, the prices are great. They range from $8-10. I'm excited to see a really good Chinese restaurant in the area and can't wait to return.

Few serval time, wrong order/missed. Recently ordered, I spend almost $100 meal for my family and I’m shock that sweet sour chicken without sweet sour sauce on them and other three large fried rice, suppose to get fried rice with beef, second fried rice with chicken and third is fried rice with pork. All of them only fried rice with few chicken tiny of pieces. I suspect they are lazy to cook and easy for them cook once at one time. Spoke them through phone and they won’t solve this problem and unfriendly. I will never order them never ever again.

As of March 31 they are closed. I'm devastated since I have been eating here every week for years and loved it. The owner told me three weeks ago they were going to close on Sunday (2 weeks from my last visit) but I thought she meant closing just for Easter. Otherwise I would have eaten here 4 or 5 times a week until the last day!!

This is my first time experiencing Northern China cuisine in Austin and I am so sorry that it took me so long to visit Chen Z. If you're in search of a romantic setting and designer decor, go elsewhere. This venue is as stark as they get but I came for the food. The menu is on the wall and after perusing, one can order, be given a number and the order will be brought to your table. For an appetizer, the green onion pancake was ordered. I ordered the lamb stir fried noodle that I thoroughly enjoyed however, I would have preferred slices of lamb instead of the little cubes. My fellow foodie had gone to the juice shop next door to get the fresh watermelon juices and while he was gone, his order of cold beef arrived which I almost totally consumed. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Shirley, who was very gracious. I, without fail, will return as I saw many other items on the wall that I would like to experience.

Yelp
Lovely woman took my order over the phone. Answered all the questions I had. The food is INCREDIBLE, especially the scallion pancakes. 100% recommend this restaurant for any one craving Chinese.

Daphne A.

Yelp
It's okay. For the price, I was happy with my meal. But I wouldn't get your hopes up too high for expecting the perfect, authentic Chinese meal. We ordered two lunch specials and the scallion pancake. The beef with spicy garlic sauce was not spicy in the slightest, and was actually really sugary. The steamed rice was dry and clumpy. The beef stir fry noodles were also a little boring and overly sweet. The scallion pancakes were so crispy and greasy, it was as if they were fully deep fried - I'm used to scallion pancakes being flexible and soft and buttery, not hard like a chip. They also did not come with a dipping sauce. The wonton and egg drop soup were very salty but still enjoyable. The interior is as expected. Old Chinese hole in the wall place, nothing fancy in the slightest. However, as I sat eating my lunch, two customers came in - not having ordered ahead - and got takeaway meals in less than 5 minutes. They are lightening fast. All in all, it will do for a cheap lunch that delivers on flavor and on time, but it wouldn't be my first recommendation.

Shelley H.

Yelp
Great food! We had Jalapeño Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Eggplant in brown sauce. We had scallion pancakes, sesame balls and egg rolls to start. All good! The entrees were delicious! Veggies were all fresh and portions generous. They have a wide variety on the menu so everyone will be satisfied! White rice was also served with each entree.

Yelp
It's really just "OK" here. I was excited to have found this place - kind of hidden away behind all that chaotic traffic at that horrible intersection. I was the only one dining in around that time, maybe 3:30ish. Well reading the Yelp reviews and looking at pics - we got the Salt & Pepper Squid, the Pork chop with sichuan sauce, the Crispy Tofu w/ garlic sesame sauce, and stir fried green beans. The Squid was the best thing we had, but it wasn't top notch quality. It was respectable, portion is smaller than other dishes, but it was respectable. Everything else from there was a let down. The Pork Chop w/ Sichuan Sauce looked great, was piping hot, but the sauce had a ketchup-y taste. And the pork was good but the breading just was too much for us. You eat this and you know you're not eating something healthy. The Crispy Tofu looked good, the sauce was solid, but didn't care for that light cornmeal-like breading on it. That sauce - I think it has a ton of MSG in it. This one just came up short on the overall quality cuisine scale. The green beans just looked flaccid. They were not crispy or firm, just seemed like they were past their prime, very soft, limp, I'm not used to that. Just was another letdown. I think this place puts a lot of MSG in their dishes because we could feel it afterwards (it puts me to sleep and I don't feel so great). It's really C-level quality here IMO. When I feel like that - I'm disinterested in trying the other dishes even though I am so intrigued to do so, I'm afraid it will end up being the same disappointment. I mean if you want cheaper Sichuan cuisine, and they are a couple of bucks cheaper than House of Three Gorges or Bamboo House, then by all means this is your place. The leftovers just didn't hold up well, we could feel the MSG migrating through our veins, ugh. Service was good. She was very helpful and tried to give good recommendations. Very direct but she was eager to please. The water here is that horrible Austin tap and it tastes like doo-doo. 2.5 to 3-stars at best here folks.

Shanicy A.

Yelp
HORRIBLE RUDE SERVICE. I never been treated so rudely picking up my to go order for egg drop soup. I asked for sweet and sour because I got some egg rolls too and this lady snatches my damn bag away from me no exaggeration!!!! And she unravels the napkins and lets all the sauces spill on the counter and walks away. Weirdest and rudest interaction. She was acting busy and it was not one person in there lmao goodbye! They can kiss my ass !

Linsie W.

Yelp
Such good and authentic Chinese food to get take out from. They pack everything perfectly so it's still fresh when you open it. It's a little on the oily side but that's just the nature of Chinese food. I'm a big fan of all their vegetable dishes and their sweet and sour pork is SO good. It may not have the shiniest or well taken care of exterior but that's what I love about restaurants like this. Don't judge this book by it's cover! The freshness and flavor will surprise you!

Taylor C.

Yelp
This place strikes the 3.5 star Chinese restaurant. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, there's reels and TikToks about the perfect Chinese restaurant lol). The restaurant itself may be a little questionable but once you eat your food, all worries will fade. It's delicious. When I called to order take out, they were abrupt, didn't ask for my name, and proceeded to shout at what I'm assuming was a staff member before hanging up. Again, may cause worry, but our food was ready at the time we asked and got it all right. Thrilled to find out the orange chicken is made with white meat! Someone said the soft noodles (lo mein) wasn't flavorful but I disagree. I thought it was flavorful enough to not overpower our other dishes. If you're on the fence of trying this place out, don't be scared and enjoy a local gem!

Krystal L.

Yelp
Delicious! The service and food were exceptional! Definitely a new favorite restaurant to become a regular. :)

Yelp
We decided to try this place yesterday for take out. It was the only Chinese Restaurant open on New Years Day. We had sesame shrimp, soft noodles with barbecue pork and stir fried green beans. We've never eaten at this place before and weren't sure how the food would be. We were very pleasantly surprised. The shrimp were piping hot and cooked just perfectly. The soft noodle dish (similar to Lo Mein) was delicious and the green beans were cooked and spiced just perfectly. Everything we had was really tasty and we'll definitely get food here again.

Miranda E.

Yelp
don't do it. once you walk in to pick up your order, you'll instantly see why. this place is so filthy, i don't understand how it could possibly pass health codes. secondly, as you work up courage to try the food, you will be extremely disappointed with your decision to order from this restaurant. so disappointed in fact, that you may need to go a looong time before having chinese food again, just to be certain you can no longer remember this misadventure. this is the worst chinese food i have ever had the displeasure of putting into my mouth. i ordered 5 dishes, and each one was inedible. either overcooked, fried in old, bitter oil, or made from the lowest-grade ingredients. save yourself from the painful regret that i am now experiencing. find anywhere else to pick up a meal.

Brenda G.

Yelp
My husband and I placed a pick up order from here on a Thursday afternoon at 3:00 pm. I called and they told me the order would be ready within 10 minutes. The noodle house is located right before getting on 290 which is great for those of us who live in the neighborhoods just west of Mopac (Legend Oaks, Beckett, Circle C, etc.). Easy in and out. Food - we loved loved loved the orange chicken. I am pregnant and had way too many plates of Panda Express during my first trimester so really appreciate the flavorful orange chicken plate at Chen Z Noodle House. I shared two plates with my husband (orange chicken and the BBQ Pork Soft Noodles). I wasn't as big of a fan of the noodles. I was expecting a little more flavor but they were still good and enjoyed nonetheless. The order also came with a half pint of plain rice. Lastly - I got the vibe that this is a legit Chinese run family establishment. No bells and whistles for ambiance. Nothing wrong with that, just know that the ambiance is def more demure. Like other reviews have mentioned, we also like to eat our Chinese at home so it was no big deal for us.

Yelp
We may have come to Chen Z's at a bad time. * * * Chen Z is, in theory, one of the classiest Chinese restaurants in Southwest Austin. It is a very full menu Chinese Chinese restaurant. They have the normal American Chinese dishes Plus a vast array of noodle dishes Plus a full array of specialty dishes including items with pork intestines and crab maw. Exotic ingredients are usually the sign of serious Chinese cooking. Better yet, they have a whole host of non-standard items that they list in Chinese on paper signs attached to the wall or on cardboard signs in the front and back of the store. Dishes offered off the menu and only in Chinese is usually another sign of serious Chinese cooking. * * * We show up and see all these promising indicators ... and we order a raft of food to go. Catch: we showed midafternoon when the restaurant was deserted. Unfortunately, this was also when the staff was all seated at a round table having lunch. They were eager to serve us - and even more eager when they found out the order would be large and there would be Chinese language menu items in the order. So while most of the staff finished their lunch, A couple of people ran off to the back to attend to our needs. They were done in no time and off we went with multiple bags of food in our possession. * * * Everything we got was a disappointment. The dishes looked fine. The dishes tasted ho hum. I am not sure why exactly this happened. It could be that the main cook was allowed to finish his or her lunch, and subsidiary not-so-great chefs made up our order. It could be that none of the cooks on the staff are that good. It could be that the cooks on the staff are all excellent ... But that they might be altering the recipes "for American tastes". * * * I personally think the last line might be the explanation. They may have been not using MSG because many Americans complain about MSG. MSG is what makes Chinese food sparkle. Every single dish we had was un-intense and flat. They were all un-intense and flat the same way. It could have been that there was no garlic. It could have been that there was no ginger. It could have been that there was nothing salty. But Americans don't complain about garlic, ginger or salt. They do complain about MSG. * * * Either way our meal was pretty boring ... And this applied both to the standard dishes and to the exotica. The people who run Chen Z's are really really nice. Oak Hill could use a full menu uncompromising Chinese restaurant. And it could be that whatever happened was just something that happened our day ... And that on most days they are up to full speed. * * * Give the place a try and see what you think. Your luck might be better than ours was.

Yelp
Great service delicious hot fresh meal. Been around a long time! Definitely a local place to check out. Dine-in is available for on the go folks who are checking off their in between chores or to do list. Totally does phone orders. Healthy options also. Cheers!

Yelp
Finally tried some Chinese near Dripping Springs. We ordered hot and sour soup, sesame chicken and general tsao. All tasted pretty good. Sauces were good consistency and sweet. The chicken pieces were nice white meat. The rating of four would be for take out because the restaurant itself is a little rough. Tucked in a strip center next to a bunch of construction, the bare decor, white plastic table clothes and minimal staff dressed in sweat pants initially concerned me as to whether we should stay. No paper menu, no tea, no dinner specials - not quite the best first impression. The waitress was nice and helpful though. The food was quick and hot and tasted good so next time we will place our order to go.

Eric G.

Yelp
We ordered takeout from here the other day. We moved recently from north Austin and, unfortunately, there is not as much good Chinese food around here, so thought we would give this place a shot. While it likely won't be something I crave, it has some solid dishes that i think are worth going back for. That said there are tons of options... So maybe I'll try some others in the future. I would go back for the pork buns (good amount and super tasty!), And the Singaporean noodles. The sesame chicken and onion pancakes were a little too soggy. Glad, though, that there is some pretty decent Chinese food in the area!

Kimberly C.

Yelp
A cute small place with excellent service. We sat down to order and within 15 minutes our food was out and piping hot. The food was very good and they had an extensive menu. It's a great place for take out, especially on a rainy day when you don't feel like cooking. I can't wait to go back and try the broccoli beef.

Cynthia D.

Yelp
Just don't! Got tricked thinking this was Chen Noodle House. Didn't realize until it was too late I was in the wrong restaurant with a similar name. Nasty tables

Sam L.

Yelp
DINERS CAVEAT: This place is NOT connected to the otherwise excellent CHEN NOODLE HOUSE in Spicewood Springs in north Austin. And it certainly doesn't merit its four stars. This place has abominably bad service: there is some elderly lady server who will call you names in front of the other customers if she doesn't like the way you look (I got called 'gweilo'). The service here is surly at best and inadequate most of the time, with courses coming out of the kitchen piecemeal and out of order. The place is dark and dingy. The tables have very few to no condiments placed on them: asking for chile oil is like asking for a gold coin. And if this is what the place looks like up front, imagine what the back is like! The food here is not bad--and that's a pity, to waste it on this place. I certainly won't waste any more money here. I'm giving it two stars instead of just one, because the food can be good here. Come here for 'tude with your food. PS: Instead of coming here for aggressively unfriendly and unfocused service, nearby is SICHUAN RIVER restaurant, at Westgate and US290. It's not a hotbed of social warmth either, but the food is at least as good at the same price point, and you might actually get your soup before your entree. I am not connected with either restaurant in any way, except as a customer.

Sherrill J.

Yelp
The service was prompt. We had several noodle dishes. They were good and did not exceed expectations. Perhaps other menu choices would have helped. We likely will not visit again. There are too many really good restaurants in the area.

Justin M.

Yelp
Living in Kyle has proven difficult to find any quality Chinese restaurants. It's not for the lack of trying, oh no, it's because good, authentic establishments don't exist south of Austin! Anyways, after running the Austin 1/2 marathon I decided I would venture out a little further to find a restaurant that serves some dishes that no one seems to carry around me. Enter my google search result named Chen Z Noodle House "in Austin" (which seems pretty far out from Austin, but I digress). Walking in, doesn't flaunt spender, rather a family-owned business still trying to recover from the Covid imposed sanctions. I walked in right when they opened on Sunday at 11. The open sign was off, one individual was mopping while three employees were eating. That is a good sign of a restaurant, the workers eat their own food! Anyways no one was there and it they still seem to be trying to get patrons to eat inside the establishment. Truth be told, I'm more of an individual who eats Chinese at home. The restaurant is clean but there aren't little bells and whistles, but I could care less b/c the food is the star. There menu is very large and has all the staples one expects at a quality restaurant. BTW, if you think Panda Express is authentic, please give this place a try and notice the difference. The egg rolls were good but not specular while the pan-fried dumplings were very good! One of the hardest dishes to find around here is beef chow fun. Well, they had it but their item is called stir fried beef flat noodle. The beef tasted like it had been marinating in soy sauce a little too long but otherwise it was an outstanding dish and very authentic. The noodles are cooked perfectly as was the beef, falling apart in my mouth and not being chewy at all. All the traditional veggies were present, green onion, been sprouts etc. The sauce was wonderful and exactly what I've been craving for over half a year. The other dish I really enjoy is Mei Fun. Again, this is an interpretation issue as they call it "Singapore style fried rice noodle. One can barely make out the smokiness that only comes from a well-seasoned wok. In other words, trying to copy it at home would be very difficult. Like the Chow Fun all the normal veggies were there and the noodles were perfect! Finally, I had the pork fried rice. Another well executed dish and very traditional. The only issue was I was craving a sweet tea and they only had canned soda. I found the staff were very willing to make me happy even with a slight language barrier. But is that a problem when you want authentic food? Heck no, that means they've lived the food and are experts with regional delicacies. The portion sizes are a little smaller than one might anticipate however do we really need MORE food? I believe it's the perfect amount and I only issue this statement so one can prepare they won't get 4 lbs of noodles, but a portion size that makes sense. Ultimately it appears I have to drive to get quality Chinese and I will be coming back to sample things like "pork intestine & blood cake!?" Ok maybe not that one, but the menu has quality items that can satisfy anyone. So, if you're in the area or decide to take a small trip, you won't be disappointed.

Julie H.

Yelp
Probably the most disgusting "Chinese" food I've ever had. Realize this is a noodle house but had a craving for just a simple Chinese style stir fry. Gross, gross, gross. Egg drop soup was cool temperature and the beef with mixed vegetables was more of a soup. Threw it all away. Total waste of money. Egg roll was mushy. Inside of egg roll was gelatinous. Disgusting.

David C.

Yelp
Chen Z is Oak Hill's essential hole-in-the-wall Chinese Restaurant. Plastic tablecloths. Canned drinks. The dining area is small and the tables and chairs are the cheap restaurant grade stuff from 20 years ago. The menu is now web-only, is split into too many categories, and doesn't have enough pictures. Wanna read the specials board? Brush up on your Mandarin. Somehow none of that matters. You're probably picking up takeout. Everything on the menu comes out better than you'd expect from a little Chinese restaurant. And even in 2023 it's reasonably priced.

N C.

Yelp
Great Chinese in the area. We love the salt and pepper pork. Noodles are soft and fresh. Thank you Chen Z!!

Veronica Y.

Yelp
OMG THIS FOOD IS SO GOOD!!!!! Ok, now that I got my initial super excited shouting out the way. Let me provide details: 1. Scallion pancake appetizer: greasy almost like pastry/filo dough (and yes, that's tasty); nice starter but it get eclipsed by what's about to follow 2. Cumin lamb: flavor is ON POINT and the lamb is very tender 3. Fried flat rice noodles with beef/beef ho fun: The wok char flavor is INCREDIBLE on this one, it permeates every bite. The rice noodle is cooked perfectly - not at all mushy. The beef is big slices that again, super tender. But oh man that wok char ... Cannot replicate that flavor in a home kitchen. I can see myself coming back just for this dish alone. They do their meat very very well here; no rubbery or chewiness, no toughness. Flavors are great. 4. Shrimp and scallops in garlic sauce: the shrimp very great, the scallops were small and got a little lost. I love though the onion, green peppers, and sliced water chestnuts in the dish. 5. Chinese bok choy with mushrooms. I got this one because I felt guilty for not ordering a vegetable but SO GLAD I DID. Do not sleep on this one - the flavors are wonderful and that shittake is thick and super juicy. It ended up being one of my favorites. 6. Ok ok hear me out on this one: Boiled intestines in spicy sauce with bean curd. THIS WAS THE BESTTTTTT. First of all, I was excited that a restaurant offered intestines at all let alone several variants, and then to have this blow me away??? *Slow hand clap* The bean curd is very silky and soft (think Korean sundubu) and the intestines are super tender and flavorful. And it's magically well-balanced of a flavor between the flavor of the sauce and the flavor of the intestines themselves. No rubbery or chewiness to the intestines, no inconsistency; just all delicious. Also, got a massive portion of rice that I wasn't expecting (I cooked rice at home before I went to pick it up, so now I just have a lot for rice...not a bad problem to have at all). I'm so glad that a place like this exists in South Austin, and also that the prices are so reasonable. Support local establishments like this one please, I don't want to see them close. I only just found Chen Z, I can't lose it! p.s. the whole process during COVID is super simple. They have an online order system that gives you an estimate of when your food will be ready; pay when you get there. Pull up, call them and it's curbside delivery.

Aleks G.

Yelp
Worst food ever. Rice was hard and tasteless. Place looks like you can find New York sized rats in there. Lady looked mad cause I didn't tip for pickup. Completely unsatisfied. Save yourself from this place. Wish I could give zero stars.

Christina O.

Yelp
Chen Z Noodle House! What an experience :) If you are craving noodles you have to give this place a try they make all of their noodles in house. Menu offers much to choose from. Our typical go-tos are: Vegetable Fried Rice, Vegetable Noodles, Garlic Green Beans and hot tea. OMG! my mouth is watering as I write this. Tip: bring your own to-go containers if you want to have leftovers - Chen Z does supply some, however they are styrofoam. Staff is totally cool with you bringing in your own containers. Another note: if you plan to dine in, don't be spooked by the looks of the place. Service is top notch and the food is so worth it! Enjoy!

Tony P.

Yelp
4 stars feels about right here. It's what you'd want when you're craving quick Chinese food. I ordered pickup and it seems like most customers do the same as there were almost no customers inside. I got the cumin lamb over noodles which is not an actual menu item. You need to order the two separately and have them combine them. Just an FYI as I thought it was on the menu given some of the Yelp reviews. It was very tasty. Would recommend. Solid spot and will be ordering from here again.

Benjamin M.

Yelp
Great prices and even better food. The house spicy chicken, general tso's, chicken fried rice, and wontons are all wonderful. Excellent portions too.

Julia C.

Yelp
Pros: Authentic Cantonese food!!! Awesome service, love the owner--she's so friendly and nice. We started asking her if they cook this or that, and she said they can do all of it! Cons: The space is a little old and run-down...but I guess that just makes it a "hole in the wall"...the food makes up for it! I've had this place bookmarked for awhile as a place to try, but have been burned in the past with trying Chinese places (and being disappointed) that I usually don't want to "waste" a meal on bad food. We were actually headed to Chinos next door for tacos, but on a whim decided to try out Chen Z. It was literally a "if it's an option now, we might as well do it, because I can't think of any other time that I'd want to come back specifically for it." I am so glad we did!! The owner greeted and seated us upon entering. After she brought us waters, we chatted with her about the menu (in a mix of English, mandarin and Cantonese), then ordered a LOT of food. YUM. According to the owner, a friend told her over a year ago that she should open a restaurant in this area because there wasn't any good Chinese food in south Austin. So she did!! She lives in Pflugerville, and drives down every day to run her restaurant! As for the food, we only ordered our typical dishes that we'd order overseas or in Chinatowns in bigger cities (most of which I don't see on their takeout menu)... stir fried flat rice beef noodles, hollow stew vegetables, stir fried green beans, flounder fish, and salt and peppered tofu. Next time we'll add in a Westernized "Panda Express-ish" dish to see how it tastes, and we plan on ordering ahead sometime to eat their hot pot. The pricing was very reasonable on most of the dishes, and some of the specialty ones cost more, but also worth it. I hope SW Austin can keep this place alive! Would love to not have to drive way up north for decent Chinese food...now I can get fantastic Cantonese food in 15 mins! Now if only someone could open a boba tea house next door, we'll be all set.

Jane O.

Yelp
This was my second time to eat and I enjoyed both meals. Egg rolls, hot and sour soup, and General Tso Chicken on white rice. First time was in restaurant and this time was pickup. Each time the food was four star.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
This place is absolutely fantastic! Everything comes out quick and the quality of food is impeccable! Our favourite dishes are the flat noodle dishes.

Matthew D.

Yelp
If you live in South Austin, this is where you should get your fix, full stop. We've tried so many and got lucky here

Sandra B.

Yelp
I ordered online for delivery... Waited over an hour, and finally called them only to find out they couldn't deliver it. The food was subpar. And the eggroll was raw in the middle. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Karol M.

Yelp
Okay, bummer. After a couple of less than great experiences with the same dishes I previously praised, which we took in stride, tonight took the award for bad customer service. We walked in and tried to place an order to go, and the female proprietor told my husband, "too busy, maybe later." Standing there in person, trying to place an order, and frankly, it's not that crowded, but there must be more to go orders than meet the eye, and they must be more important. And my husband is a very polite, nice guy, who wanted to place an order for one dish. One dish. They're just suddenly too busy for our business. Guess that four-star review was a bit hasty. Currently on the lookout for great Asian food in SW Austin.

Kailash S.

Yelp
Aggressively mediocre. The Orange chicken had barely any chicken in it and the bbq pork soft noodles were unexciting.

Yelp
Wow! Went in today to pickup a takeout order. So good! I'll definitely be back! Good portions, great flavor, very decent pricing. I ordered the hot and sour soup, veggie egg rolls, and BBQ pork soft noodles. Everything was delicious, in fact the egg rolls didn't even make it to the photo because I dipped them in the soup and devoured them! Can't wait to come back and try more dishes.

Yelp
I would consider this the best Chinese spot in Oak Hill. Food is always well prepared and tasty. I enjoy there tofu dishes and huiguorou.

Yelp
Not the best Chinese restaurant in Austin but definitely not the worst. They have a variety of dishes, from more American fare (eg orange chicken) to more authentic Chinese dishes. I like their noodles, as they are made in house. Make sure you ask for the hand tossed noodles. Their lamb dishes are quite good as well. Overall, it's a good spot for some yummy Take out when you're craving Asian food and that won't break the bank.

Yelp
Our go to to-go Chinese restaurant! Our order is always ready within 15 minutes and it is always on point. We've never had a bad experience!

Yelp
Yum quick noodles! I love picking these up when I'm in a rush on my way home. Just make sure you order online ahead of time - great portions too

Yelp
I was expecting something different based on the pics on previous reviews. Due to COVID, they are primarily a takeout place now. But they seated our party of three. We started with the BBQ pork buns. Definitely a highlight of the meal. We each tried a lunch special which comes with egg rolls and soup. We all tried the hot and sour soup. Very good. The egg roll was vegetarian and crispy. I had the soft noodles with beef. The Hubs had thee orange chicken. Both great, not overloaded with sauce and less sweet. So very nice. Service was great. Will take them up on their takeout!

Yelp
Excellant sweet dive Asian food a must. I was pleasantly surprised to find a delicious place for lunch of course it was real quiet perfect time to view there menu to order a noodle dish customized for me which in fact love noodles boychoy vegetables, of all kinds had to admit it was ' perfect' I mean really tasty noodles had just the right amount of time cooked with Asian seasoning so incredibly delicious it rates better than most Asian resturants I been too in the south area of town and downtown. The eggsrolls were good also but not my liking missed the mark there seemed not enough flavor, how can anyone miss this small resturant but evenings it stay busy. I understand they will be serving real live lobster and you can pick which one you love to eat. A mom and pop type divy place no need to dress up but comfy clothing. The oysters I will try next visit. Give it a try you will love it.

Yelp
The best Chinese food in town! We loveeee the pork soft noodle- we ask them to make it spicy. We also love the dumplings and the scallion pancakes are incredible.

Yelp
it was our first time there & server was in such a rush to get us to order. they just stood there at the table starring at us & it just made us & other guests uncomfortable. food was great but the service was bad.

Yelp

Yelp
Order was to go and food was excellent. They have a dine in option but dining ambiance is lacking.
