"The North Side isn’t flush with hot pot spots but Chengdu Aroma shouldn’t be overlooked. This Lakeview restaurant specializes in Sichuan dishes and does hot pot too. The signature Chengdu-style broth takes two-to-three hours to prepare and consists of more than 20 ingredients including beef tallow and crushed chilis. Those who want the best bang for their buck can indulge themselves — for $23.95 per person — during specific all-you-can-eat hours. Online ordering is available here." - Jeffy Mai

This place is legit. We got Zhong’s dumplings, dan dan noodles, salt and pepper shrimp, and dry chili chicken. Everything was delicious. The salt and pepper shrimp is the best I’ve had in the city. The dumplings had so much flavor from the soy sauce mixture, very unique and worth the order. Also, do not sleep on the dan dan noodles, noods were perfectly chewy. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. I’ll be back often.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the city! Everything we ordered tasted authentic and delicious. Our favorites was the Chengdu Dry Chili Chicken! Also loved the rice noodles, mapo tofu, sichuan crispy eggplant, cumin beef, stir fried baby bok choy, and ciao long bao.

We dinned in and the portions were good size. Everything was delicious and the servers were friendly and helpful. The orange chicken was a 4/5 (a lot of breading). If you are eating here I would recommend something more traditional because the quality of food in my experience seems higher.

All of the dumplings are amazing. Great sauce, delicious filling, and awesome noodles. The rice could be a little bit better, but that didn't really matter after pouring the dumpling sauces on top!

This place is a hidden gem for me. I’m happy I don’t have to go all the way to Chinatown or Uptown for my Chinese food fix. Authentic Sichuan cuisine. Staff are really nice and never had a disappointing order. Lunch specials are a steal. Try the Stir Fry Lamb, Boiled Beef, Fried Noodles, Twice Cooked Pork, Kung Pao.

My orange chicken was so soggy and flavorless. The dry chili chicken was tasty! Nothing amazing!

Servicew excellent and very helpful. It was my first time in a restaurant like this. Would love to come back to try the other dishes as well as bring other people to try the hotpot. If you like spicy food this is the one for you but you can also ask them to make it less spicy. When a restaurant is filled with the people of the same nationality, that's a good sign that the food must be authentic.
