"A few doors down from Ambala there’s a casual, sit-down spot that specializes in dosas you won’t find anywhere else. While most South Indian restaurants are entirely vegetarian, Chennai Dosa Corner also offers Indian crepes filled with meat dishes like mutton goat curry and minced chicken keema. With 25 different options on the menu, you could come here on a monthly basis and never eat the same dosa twice for years. Dosa varieties at Chennai range from soft and spongy kal dosa to thin and crispy uttapam, and each one comes with a side of coconut chutney and spicy lentil-filled sambar broth. Google
Not the best but good Dosa, nice chutnies. Gave 1 star extra because they open early compared to other restaurants in the area. But their breakfast service was not so good. They were busy getting ready and preparing for lunch. Overall nice experience.

I have been here a couple of times and love the food here. Nice clean place, the server is always very friendly. The parking lot is right there but if it’s busy you might have a hard time finding a parking there. But just behind you can get ample parking. We ordered Ghee roast dosa, Chennai special masala dosa, idli vada combo Plate & madras filter coffee. Loved the dosas, idli and vada could have been better. Sambhar & the chutney were amazing. The best was the coffee.

New edit: Had a scrumptious breakfast here.Ordered Pongal,Ghee roast masala dosa, medu vada and filter coffee (2 rounds😁)In the previous visits I was unhappy with the sambar and vada but this time the vada was so perfect with the right amount of crunchiness. The sambar tasted like the ones I used to eat at Chennai. This is the first time am trying pongal here and it was real yummy. We went early so got the full place for ourselves and service was fast and friendly. Will be visiting again. Very happy with the service of this small dosa corner. We were seated at the outdoor space. Place was hustling with indian crowd .Ordered onion tomato chilli oothappam , butter masala dosa , medu vada and chai tea.The Chennai soul in me was happy with the outcome of dosa and oothappam ,both were delicious along with the chutneys. Was slightly unhappy with the sambar, tea and vada as it wasn’t great taste wise and sambar was a little runny texture wise. But over all a nice experience. Would visit again for the southindian spread.

Crispy dosa with Madras Filter Coffee, best combination ever. Good food , variation of chutneys. Loads of flavor, authentic taste must try, they have outdoor seating for now. Potato stuffing veggie is flavorsome, they have one Chennai special dosai, stuffed with podi. Good spot

Great place and good food. Wish it had more space so I won't feel claustrophobic. Since a big guy like me needs more space. But food wise it's great Tamil Nadu food. There s room for improvement in quality.

Google
OUT OF BUSINESS! I ate here about three months ago and loved the food. However, this restaurant is now OUT OF BUSINESS. Somehow, their website is still operational and still accepting online orders. But when I went to pick up the order I had placed, I discovered that this venue is under new management operating as a completely different restaurant. Chennai Dosa Corner is PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Google
Are there yesterday and the experience was poor. The service is slow and after a few hours we were all sick. The dosa was not crisp but soggy. The chole bhatura used old batter and arrived burned I would not recommend this place as their raw material is not fresh. They are trying to save a buck by serving old batter.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite dosa places. By the name you can tell that it's a Tamil place. I always order the paneer bhurji stuffed dosa, paper dosa, chicken 65, chicken dum biriyani, and roti. The paneer dosa is good but expect it to be mostly egg instead of paneer. The paper dosa however is amazing. It's crispy, thin, and large. They offer you coconut chutney as well as sambar on the side which is the perfect combo to dip in. The chicken dum biriyani is one of my favorites to order when I don't want to cook. However, I wish the rice was a bit more seasoned. I think they often mix it with plain white rice to double the portions. The chicken 65 is easily the best thing on the menu. They're small pieces but they're fried perfectly and full of flavor. If you're ordering to go make sure to order at least 25 minutes in advance in order to ensure that your food will be ready on time. If you're looking to dine in, the restaurant will be fairly empty during the week. If you're coming on a weekend expect a short wait. The restaurant is clean but the bathroom isn't the cleanest. Luckily they have a sink outside the bathroom. So if you're just trying to wash your hands you can easily avoid going in there. The parking lot is very tiny and is shared with multiple other businesses. It's rare that you will find parking close by.

Yelp
Meh.. So disappointing! We were in the area so we decided to check out this restaurant for some dosas and South Indian food. We ordered a dosa, samosas, kottu paratha and chicken chettinad with paratha. Unfortunately for us, they were all subpar to our standards for quality South Indian food. Not only that, it was more expensive than we anticipated. If any Yelpers know of better South Indian food, please let me know. So far, only Mayura in Culver City have been up to par with our previous experiences with South Indian cuisine.

Yelp
We went here at almost closing time for dinner as a large group of 8 people! Dosa was yummy And flavorful but the rava dosa had raw onions. Veggie Biriyani was good. Onion rava dosa was super yummy : Service was pretty quick for such a large group of people and food was great! Ghee plain dosa Was huge!

Cynthia W.

Yelp
We really wanted dosas and to get out of LA for date night. Drove down to get dosas. The dosas are huge. And delicious. We also got the bhel puri. Everything delish. We will definitely be back.

Adhrit S.

Yelp
Pretty average food to be honest. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Pretty limited seating too

Tannie D.

Yelp
This place doesn't exist anymore. I forgot to take a photo last night, but its basically under new ownership and has been rebranded into something else. This page needs to be updated with the new name, as well as the food offerings, because I do not believe it is dosas anymore.

Kevin K.

Yelp
Tucked away in a small strip mall, in the corner, behind a market. Tiny hole in the wall, decent food/experience overall. The Dosa is delicious. Getting a large one was fun to see and eat, but I really couldn't get over it being all over the table/tablecloth. Place wasn't the cleanest, but food on the table was bearable, but food on the never-washed tablecloth kinda disgusted me a bit. You can still see all sorts of stains in the photo. Yeesh. Not sure how I feel about the rest of the food overall. I'm not going to ding them for their 'mild' Karahi Gosh that almost took us both out. I get it, it's their spicy. Just keep that in mind when you're ordering. Their tandori was 'broken' so we had to cancel that. And their briyani was pretty subpar. It really didn't help that there were bone shards in every bite. Chai wasn't bad, and mango lassi was more 'lassi' than 'mango'. Not the best, but it really helped cut the spice of the Karahi Gosh. Down to give it another try, but a middling experience this time. Only real highlight was the dosa.

Kimmy B.

Yelp
Our little one was spending the night at grandmas so naturally we wanted to eat somewhere we couldn't go with her, so dosas and chicken tikka masala it is! The dosa was incredible, I loved the flavor of the batter and the potato filling was tasty! The chicken tikka masala hit the spot, very rich and a tad too salty, but the parathas helped with that. I was very surprised they had run out of all types of naan though, hoping to get my hands on some of those when I return back!

Yelp
Never had a chance to try their food. This small restaurant (with sitdown) specializing in Dosas (indian crepes made of lentil flour that can contain variety of fillings...my favorite is potato masala) has been on my list of need-to-try for a while...in fact, it keeps appearing on my front page in Yelp as needing a review since I've read so much about it and that it has made some best Indian cuisine lists in Los Angeles. So we explicitly drove to Cerritos on a Sunday morning to try two places (one that opened at 10 am for Pho and this place which opens at 11 am). We were done with the first place by 10:35, so drove over to Chennai Dosa Corner and decided to wait the remaining 20 minutes in the car. We saw folks preparing to open inside (mopping the floor) so waited until 11. The door was open, so peaked inside with a smile and asked if they were open now. No....they still needed 15 minutes. The workers did have an apologetic look when they told us they weren't open, so I wonder if I should have just sucked it up and waited the 15 minutes outside (pretending that it was just a long line of customers, where a 15 minute wait is nothing). I do think it is very different than coming 15 minutes before closing and expecting a restaurant to seat us. Admitedly, the 20 minutes I had waited even before their posted opening time did add to my frustration (which was no fault of this place)....but I can't imagine why they couldn't find a way to let us sit down (since they were supposed to be open for business), so they could get some paying customers in the door, and find a way to placate us....it's like they really didn't care.

Yelp
food is delicious. Artesia's true hidden gem. i think it will serve them well to work on the ambiance on this place. play some nice music to drown the noise of AC/Compressor. Get rid of the hand written signs and get print outs that all look the same. and hide the bathroom with a paper wall or divider thing. I don't want to see the inside of the bathroom from my table every time someone goes in or out. I would come here every day because the food quality is top notch. it's delicious clean and healthy food. Again, TRULY A HIDDEN GEM!

Yelp
This review is for take out and dining as we used to come here a ton. Parking- is limited, be careful as you enter and exit, circle around and around and then carefully pick a spot. They are quite tiny, so good luck SUV's. Food- dosas are solid, biryani is full of that legit aroma and flavor you all should go after, goat and other meat dishes have been quite good and give the "home cooked" feel if you are after that. We are. Prices are reasonable, considering what you are getting. Dining room is small, few tables outside that are close to the parking spots. What's also nice is that once you are done here, you can stroll down the small strip mall and get dessert or some other nice beverages/snacks, groceries.... Maybe even do some shopping or get those brows done! Also, I don't know what the name of the main Chef is, but he's a younger guy and literally the kindest person. He just wants you to eat the food the right way and takes so much consideration in this, which is the hospitality you simply don't get with others. Sadly, there is a server here and yikes, he was rude and I'll just leave it at that, but it was not appropriate. Hope this gets resolved because everyone else is soooo wonderful.

Yelp
Delicious but don't order through their website. Either they don't check their ordering app or the app they use has ridiculous delayed time. Ordered 1 hour ahead. Food not yet ready. No one at the restaurant but me. Update: my review above was unpublished because I figured maybe it was just a bad day for them. I ordered by phone this time. They told me 45 minutes. I'm now here, 45 minutes later, and the food is not done. I keep coming back because the food is delicious but they need to get their service together. Absolutely frustrating.

Yelp
Going to thank this place for having the worst service that it made me give Podi Dosa a try which is just down the street. I was reluctant to try Podi Dosa due to the reviews about their service but what I experienced at Chennai Dosa Corner, i was like "there's no way the service could ever be as bad as what I experienced at this place today". first of all, the hours at this place are actually so weird; they close during lunch hours on a Friday... their site says they close at 12:30pm-2:30pm and we tried calling while on the way there to see if we could place an order and they wouldn't pick up. We got there at 12pm and they were already closed with a guy mopping inside, so surely he heard and ignored our calls. Then we decided to come back at 3:30pm, cause the site said they were open at 2:30pm, just to be told to come back after 5pm... red flag but I was craving Indian food so I ignored it. We call at 5pm to see if they were open, they said no and to come back at 5:30pm... come back at 5:30pm to be told that they would open in a few minutes and that we can sit inside. We sat at a table for over 20 minutes waiting... and he finally tells my boyfriend and I to walk to the counter and show us the 6 different curries they had available so far and none of them were the ones we came to try, which was the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala... then we asked if he had dosa and he said no. We asked when they would and he said tomorrow... ain't no way you made us wait 6 hours to tell us you had 6 different curry options available and no dosas... BUT in all this madness, it made us give Podi Dosa a try and I'm just happy I finally got my chicken tikka Masala and masala dosa. The dosa was better at Podi Dosa than this place too but i admit the sauces here are better. Too bad they don't know how to run a business.

Yelp
Awesome food and customer service. Their food has a bit of kick to it but hands down they serve best south Indian food in LA. Restaurant is a bit cramped and if its ambience you seek - I must say you would be disappointed. But Food is great and none of the restaurants around serve Dosas as good as this restaurant ! This is going to be go to South Indian restaurant !

Sonali D.

Yelp
This place needs a little more attention to the aesthetics. Plain dosa is good not great. Smaller than most places for $12. Chutney and Sambar were so tasty! Definitely plan to come back and try it again soon

Brian S.

Yelp
First time visit. Their masala dosa hit the spot. Too bad they are closing at the end of December. Heard the landowner isnt renewing their lease and owner is retiring.

D'Loco K.

Yelp
Ilankai Tamil-American here. I might be wrong, but I had stopped going to Udupi years ago because the flavors were off. I know there are non South Indians who cook there, perhaps their ingredients have changed. But this is why I wanted to try a new place. I ordered Take Away, but sat and chatted w friend. The folks working were kind. There was a family eating and they seemed to be enjoying their food. The food took a while to come. I know that this is a complaint from a lot of reviewers, but I figure that every restaurant in Artesia takes time. I am someone who doesn't mind waiting, and I plan for it. I ordered the medhu vadai (3 orders bc there are only 2 vadai per order and the vadais, sasly, are small), veg biriyani (spicy), lemon rice, naan and fish tandoori. I asked for one order of the vadai to come without sambar etc bc I liked to eat my vadai plain or w coconut chutney. The flavors of the vadai were amazing. I just wondered why they were so small for nearly 8 dollars (my only complaint)- though they did come w sambar, yogurt, pickle, green chutney. The veg biriyani stole the show, I keep talking about it a week later. The fish tandoori was incredible, as well. Tilapia that is boneless and marinated flavorfully (and a lot of it). It wasnt technically tandoori because it came out more like pan cooked, but I did not care because the flavors were poppin. Probably could've used more raw onions as a filler w my naan, but I was so happy eating. The lemon rice was good and flavorful, but my order could've used a little more salt. And even though didn't expect it to be, the naan was really good - perfect conduit for the fish. Lankans are known for their kothu, and so I was hesitant to try theirs, BUT based off what I had, I wouldn't worry about trying a South Indian style kothu there next time. I am also eager to eat inside next time, and go for a dosa, uthapam, iddli or other South Indian specialties.

Gabby B.

Yelp
Spicy spicy Chana masala and Chili Naan! Yumm! My bf and I were craving Indian and decided to check this small place out which is actually located on a corner. They have a variety of dishes to choose from which made it hard to decide, but we went with their specialty dosa, lamb biriyani, samosas, and chana masala. This was the first place that actually had chili naan so of course we had to get it. The samosas came out first and they were super hot and tasty. Next, came out the huge portion of lamb biriyani. The meat was very tender and the rice was nice and fluffy. It was topped with some red onion which gave it a nice crunchy texture to the dish. The Chana masala and Chili Naan were my favorite because they were both sooo spicy and so good! The chili naan was actually covered with chunks of green chili! Wow! And the Chana masala was the perfect spicy. It had the kind of kick that gets your nose going! Yum! The huge flacky dosa came in a platter with different dipping sauces which made it fun to dip and try all the flavor combos and variations. We literally ate everything! It was so good!

Jade F.

Yelp
My go-to on the weekends with my family. This is the closest to a traditional Malaysian Indian breakfast. Their dosa (tosai) is delicious. We usually get the plain for the kids and we love their butter paneer masala. The best if you want authentic southern Indian cuisine.

Siva A.

Yelp
Good South Indian restaurant. However service is a drag. Ambience less than desirable

Sweta A.

Yelp
We ordered the Rava onion chili masala dosa with masala (potatoes) on the side. I wanted to like this place but the food had no seasoning or salt and no matter how long they cooked the dosa it was not crispy. The flavors were not good of any of the items. Only the sambhar was decent. I hope they can improve the quality and taste of their food. Service was very good but unfortunately not enough to make up for the bad tasting food.

Jeff S.

Yelp
First time here and I probably wouldn't be back. The place is not a fancy place, this is why I picked it as I was just taking out and didn't want something too fancy/expensive. People there were nice and the food was very good. I guess my only complaint is the price. Their entrees don't come with rice or Naan. I got two chicken dishes, 1 side of rice and 2 sides of Naan and it was $50. $50 for take out for two people (no drinks, no dessert no apps). This is on par with pricy sit down restaurants. Start adding Naan and rice to your orders and this is a solid 4+ (possibly 4.5).

Sankit G.

Yelp
This was my first time at this place and we ordered a few dosa. For myself I ordered Bangalore Dosai, whereas for others I ordered Chicken Keema dosai, mutton keema dosai, paper masala dosai, spring dosai, masala dosai. And for the table we got samosa chat. Samosa Chat - I thought the flavor was very good. The samosa seemed tasteful, the chole on top were made nicely too, full of flavors. The chutney and Dahi was given on side instead of already put on chat. Though I liked samosa chat, I wish it was a bit warm. The food overall at this place didn't seem to be very warm for some reason. Dosas in general tasted ok, but my friends found sambar very spicy and overall textured of dosa missing. For me I'll want to try a dosa that's hot and crisp. The dosas here were soft (maybe that's the difference between dosa and dosai, but not sure). Also this was my first time seeing meat Dosa on menu so my friends tried it and found them ok. Lately my experience has been if a place has a bigger menu and trying to serve everything their dosas cannot be promising. That holds true for this place too. I feel it's very challenging to find a chef who can make dosas on one side and tandoori North Indian cuisine on other.

Nini N.

Yelp
I tried the mutton dosa at Chennai. While the flavor was good, I felt like my dosa wasn't crispy or warm enough. Additionally, I personally found the sambar too spicy. I liked the coconut chutney and the cilantro chutney! The spring dosa was a little too oily for my taste because it had cheese. I think the paper masala dosa was my favorite.

Krishna K.

Yelp
Food is tasty and being one of those initial customers for breakfast I did not witness 'bad service' that I read from other reviews. Pricey. Suggest to have a combo breakfast so that we may try multiple dishes.

Naheeda H.

Yelp
Their dosas are so good, the best I've had in the US! Very tasty and authentic. I like the masala dosa and the idly. But really everything I've had has been good!! Also the service is fast and efficient and they are very kind. Don't miss this South Indian Food treasure.

Thomas R.

Yelp
We were here for lunch Saturday. I had the paneer dosa and my wife had lamb korma. The korma was great with a good depth of flavor. Not lacking at all. The dosa came with 3 sauces for dipping. Large lunch and good flavor, just like egg might be. We will definitely come back.

Anitha G.

Yelp
worse service ever!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!! from the entrance to the exit, horrible service. we, 7 of us, including my older parents visited this place in December 29, 2023. from the entrance, the server lady asked me to to arrange tables for us to sit, complete refused to bring warm water to drink for my parents in the cold weather, brought only 2 cups of water for 7 people ( brought 2 cups later asking at least 5 times and 2 people), cold foods including Medu Vada, running Kothu paratta, extremely salty gravy of both butter chicken and Shahi Paneer( both same gravy). I regret spending my hard earned money for this worst food!! ambience- unclean- doors, handles, plates, plastic cups. NOT WORTH A PENNY!!

Leon K.

Yelp
Ordered 3 dishes, the chicken in one of the dish was clearly rancid, had sour/ammonia-like smell of chicken that tasted like it has been left out in room temperature for several days. If a restaurant can't throw out old ingredients, potentially harming the customers, they have no right to do any business.

Katie C.

Yelp
really good and flavorful indian cuisine! it's a hole in the wall compared to the majority of indian cuisines around this area. we got the chicken biryani, 2 orders of garlic naan, and the butter chicken. the butter chicken - super flavorful and thick. it was perfect for the garlic naan dipping and full of chicken, not the stingy kind where they just put 3 to 4. this lasted us for lunch and dinner. the garlic naan pieces were big and right amount of garlic flavor, not too overwhelming. finally, it was our first time trying the chicken biryani, this was really delicious. very spicy, but we kept eating it and it had two big pieces of chicken which were kind of hard to eat, but the rice was really good and had a bunch of spices.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
PROS: Dosa of all kinds...no matter what you choose, it'll be yummy. This is a small mom-and-pop hole-in-the wall. Resembling a take-out place. Just a handful of few tables inside... CONS: No one to greet us when we entered, we just got menus and seated ourselves. We sat outside and it took about 20 min to get service. So have patience. Advice...if you want a comfortable upscale dining experience, go elsewhere but if you stay, you'll be rewarded with good food....excellent dosa...and also the lemonade was interesting, served in stryofoam cups...tasted like dried plum not lemony...and you have to ask for water, if you want it.

Anya H.

Yelp
The CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA with the Garlic Naan is a must-try. The MASALA DOSA holds much flavor (buttery) and the perfect crunch. Really looking forward to coming back here to try more dishes!

Abhyush R.

Yelp
The restaurant has a lot of variety of dosas and Indian curry. The dosa comes with 3 chutneys coconut, red chutney and mint. Also it has sambhar with it which is more delicious as compared to any other one. It has 20 types of veg dosa and 20 types of non veg dosa.

Esther O.

Yelp
Great food and kind workers. We got the chicken curry, chicken Tikka Masala, samosas, garlic Naan and chili garlic Naan, and the Chennai dosa. For a quick weekday dinner, it hit the spot.

San D.

Yelp
Spicy and authentic... highly recommended! Don't ask for spicy based on general spice levels at most Indian restaurants. Please is clean, service is comparatively slow but I like slow cooked food made to my specific order instead of generic same base curry used in most dishes at Indian restaurants

Linda L.

Yelp
I love the variety of the amount of dosas being offered here. I have not seen another place in OC with such an extensive list. If you have, please let me know. The place is rather small so would be best to come off hours. It's also not the cleanest place so fyi. My group ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, mutton keema dosa, chicken keema dosa, and iddly/vada combo. I personally would stick to just the dosas here. Dosas came out hot and crispy. This place makes their food spicy so be careful. Some of the chutneys are spicy too. Decent place for dosas.

Dee E.

Yelp
You don't come here for the ambiance, you come here for the food! Amazing:) The place itself is a "hole in the wall" mom- n-pop shop. I was a little reluctant about the restaurant because of the cleanliness. My family and I chose to sit at the table outside and it was dirty and there were dirty napkins on the ground. We stuck around because my boss recommended this place and I'm very glad I did. Food: The food made up for the lack of hygienic attentiveness. To be fair, because we ate outside, I'm not sure about the cleanliness inside. Anyway, the food was among the best Indian food I've ever had. They have the best veggie biryani by far. It had so many spices, leaves, whole cardamom pods, cloves and peppercorns- soooo delicious. Everything was delicious. Aloo gobi had whole cinnamon sticks and it was just magical. I will definitely eat here again, although I will probably order it to go.

Kiran N.

Yelp
Send Dimas delicious and authentic South Indian food with the right amount of spices and yummy Ness.

Syed Tanvir A.

Yelp
The Goat biriyani is too good, it has enough pieces, and the meat is tender also. Paneer burji masla dosa with sambar and chatnis was excellent. Clean and nice environment, service was really quick.

Rodney S.

Yelp
Chennai do that? https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=p5eUpRBevNZfVozcLdpYwA&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Occupying the former location of Ambhala Dhaba, which I frequented on several occasions many moons ago, Chennai Dosa Corner specializes in the Indian crepe known as dosai. Made from rice flour, fenugreek seeds & black lentils, blended and then allowed to ferment for that unique flavor, it comes in many iterations. I thought dosai were all crispy, but found out those are the paper dosai. Silly me! Arriving prior to opening, I sat at one of the 3 al fresco tables, browsing the menu underneath the table glass. However, once Chennai Dosa Corner opened, I was given another menu. Perturbed, I went with the menu I was just given. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=uBsvBfBxECrBLri2XV-4yQ&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1Mi_UNweOvcd-mJgyRgx1w&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=dzVNLlLlvwVYRdIflw0Izg&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Ghee roast masala dosai- https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7trY55AA5-nMITqQxgHYDQ&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Wrapped in a chewy crepe blanket, which reminded me of slightly less chewy injera bread, mashed potatoes (the type found in samosas) & ghee stuffed the inside of this dosai. It had good flavor coming from the ghee & was quite filling, but found the texture to be a little monotonous. Chennai special dosai- https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7trY55AA5-nMITqQxgHYDQ&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA My favorite of the 2, the Chennai special dosai had the same mashed potato filling, but with diced red onions, cilantro & other accoutrement. The contrasting texture from the red onions are why I found this dosai more pleasing to the palate. Dosai are served with 3 chutneys (red, white & green), along with a very spicy sambar (lentil stew). Indoor dining is currently unavailable, due to current events, with 3 al fresco tables available for outdoor dining. Limited parking spaces, Chennai Dosa Corner is located in the right corner of Maya Plaza. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=g6hk_sz_MWO_oMqsXtAJcQ&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Spicy & tummy stuffing, the dosai at Chennai Dosa Corner are inexpensive meal options with the tastes & aromas that come from South Indian cuisine. I look forward to exploring the rest of the menu, especially lamb vindaloo & mutton biryani. My stomach gets cravings for Indian food now & again, and Chennai Dosa Corner managed to satiate that hungry beast. Highly recommend!

Yelp
One of the best South Indian spots I've had, although I haven't had many. The masala dosas are obviously a way to go and are huge but the chicken curries were incredibly good, I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Really loved this place. My only regret? It's all the way in LA. We came down to visit my folks in the area and wanted some awesome Indian food so where else to go but Little India? We were craving good dosa so this place came up on Yelp and we decided to give it a try. No regrets. FOOD: Superior flavors! The level of heat in the butter chicken was spicy but without losing the flavor. Creamy and smooth with rich notes. Yum. The samosas were fluffy and not over cooked like they can be in some places. The naan was light and fluffy with good flavor - tasting fresh and right out of the oven. The rice was pillow soft perfect! Our only criticism was there could be more masala in the masala dosa. It was a good crepe but so little of the yummy potato. SERVICE: okay. The dosa got soggy because it couldn't vent properly and they use a lot of styrofoam. Also the interior is dark and unwelcoming. I was glad the food was ready but they packaged it up thirty minutes early. Had we not arrived early it would have been sitting there for 30 minutes! COST: Excellent cost to food ratio! Definitely worth the price! We will return!

Yelp
We've gone here 2-3 times and wonder each time why it got such a high rating. The last order was when we decided we can't try this place anymore. We ordered a rava onion masala dosa to go on a Saturday and on Sunday morning, it has already gone bad. We asked for extra sambar on the side in lieu of chutneys and they said no. Not sure why this place has so many stars on yelp when it's been regret each time we've come.

Yelp
I typically prefer northern Indian cuisine, but my boyfriend really wanted to give this place a shot, so we stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night. We got the Chennai Dosa, as well as a Chicken Tikka Masala and naan (mostly at my insistence for something familiar). We were going to get the regular dosa, but our server upsold us and recommended that we get the Chennai Special Dosa because it was a little spicier than their regular dosa. It ended being a bit too spicy for my liking, so I'd recommend sticking with the regular ones if you can't handle too much spice. The dosa also came with a few different dips/spreads on the side, some of which were pretty spicy as well. The Chicken Tikka Masala was pretty good, but less sweet and more spicy than I'm used to. The naan was also good. A bit thicker and chewier than the other naans I've had. I chalked the differences up to northern vs southern style cooking. The food was decent, but the biggest reason why I gave this place 3 stars was for their service. After we arrived and put in an order, another couple sat behind us and also put in an order for a Chennai Special Dosa. When the first dosa came out, the server gave the dosa to the other couple, even though we had gotten there first and ordered first. Throughout the rest of our dinner, it became evident that the waiter was heavily prioritizing the other couple, almost to the point of ignoring us. We consider ourselves relatively low-maintenance patrons, but the lack of service, combined with the fact that the other couple was sitting literally RIGHT behind us, made us pretty uncomfortable. I acknowledge that the couple was demanding, but the waiter shouldn't have prioritized them so much that it came at the expense of service to their other equally paying customers.

Yelp
Food is good. But the price is listed on the Yelp menu years old. The cheese does is no longer $6.99 but is now $12.99. I told the restaurant that they really need to update their Yelp prices. Somehow, though, I doubt that that will happen anytime soon. So, be aware, that the price is listed on the Yelp menu are vastly incorrect. (Unfortunately it don't take any photos) (All three of us agree that the food was good though)

Yelp
Just walk in; they will give you a menu. Great items on the menu. They are pretty quick; HAVE AN IDEA of what you want; they are not helpful with recommendations otherwise. Small tables: open doors; I tried the samosas; good standard flavors; I had the special dosi or Dosa served with Sambar; there were too onions for me. I would go back and try other items; then go to the Ambala sweets in the same place and get ladoo; love the Punjabis (who have dosa as well)

Yelp
For my money it's the tastiest Indian food on Pioneer Blvd. If you read the other reviewers comments when it comes to their food the general concession is that it's 'good'! If you read the comments with low ratings they usually pertain to ambience, lack of parking spaces and minimal service. But, if you want tasty and properly seasoned Indian dishes try this place.

Yelp
Dosa heaven here! We were in Los Angeles on the way to Irvine and found this little gem on Yelp. The hours said they closed in 30 minutes so called in a to-go order to be sure we would be able to pick it up right before they closed. When we arrived they had everything ready to go and hadn't yet closed the outside dining area so they allowed us to eat outside. The owner came out to check on us a few times and had a big smile on his face ear to ear. I must have been the only Caucasian he had seen that really enjoyed the food that day. We couldn't finish all of it so they gave us to-go boxes and tin foil to take to our hotels. It was so delicious had to come back a 2nd time before my trip ended If only Utah had Dosa this amazing I would be in heaven. :-) For sure will be back.
