Where to Eat and Drink in Gatlinburg, Tennessee | Eater Nashville

"Somewhat the third coast of Gatlinburg restaurants, this Knoxville-based seafood-forward hotspot boasts a bounty of flown-in-daily catches. The steamed seafood feast and seafood tower are great options for those who can’t make up their minds. And, oysters are done up right. Definitely get them raw on the half shell, but also don’t miss the namesake oysters Chesapeake topped with creamy blue crab, mushrooms and Benton’s bacon. Steak, chicken, a smattering of sides, and desserts round up the menu, along with full bar service. *Nightly dinner and weekend lunch service only at this location."

First, I wasn’t sure if we should stop since the restaurant closes at 10 and it was 930. I have family in the hospitality industry, and I know how to kitchen feels when people show up last minute. But this was not our experience they graciously sat us with a beautiful scene of the water outside our waitress. Nina was amazing. You would’ve thought she just came on duty with how pleasant she was. She also had great recommendations from the menu which we took her advice and enjoyed so much. My pictures definitely do not do Chesapeake justice. Our food was exceptional. They do not skimp on giving you crab meat. There was no filler absolutely none. We ordered the crab meat, stuffed mushrooms, the Chesapeake shrimp, the broiled seafood plate and our waitress brought out my best friend a chocolate cheesecake for her birthday so sweet. Hats off to the kitchen for an amazing meal. Those scallops were so buttery and creamy. The best I’ve ever had. If I’m ever in town again, I will definitely come and eat here. We even recommended your establishment in the book at our Airbnb thank you for such a wonderful experience

This is a more upscale spot than the usual in Gatlinburg (casual dress still fine). We were seated right away on a Sunday around 5:30 (no reservation), but it did fill up while we ate. My son enjoyed his shrimp & grits, and I liked my crab stuffed flounder, but my wife didn't like the taste of her grilled scallops. She ate some of it, but thought it was overly smoky. We didn't ask for any accommodation, but the manager came over and made a small gesture toward our bill, which we appreciated. Our server Mark was an enjoyable chap and took good care of us.

We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Chesapeake’s in Gatlinburg! From the moment we walked in, everything exceeded our expectations. We went on a Monday around 6:00 PM and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away—no wait at all! One of the managers kindly showed us to a beautiful window seat overlooking the river, which made the experience even more special. Our server, Larry, was truly amazing. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful—keeping our drinks full and giving us some great recommendations for the rest of our trip, including a few awesome local secrets we wouldn’t have known otherwise. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which were rich, flavorful, and perfectly baked. For our main course, we split the Broiled Seafood Platter and it was delicious—everything was cooked to perfection and served hot and fresh. The food came out in a very timely manner, and we never felt rushed or forgotten. Even beyond our table, I noticed how kind and attentive the entire waitstaff was to every guest. It’s clear the whole team cares about delivering a top-notch dining experience. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Highly recommend Chesapeake’s! Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere.

The restaurant is cozy and whimsical simultaneously. The staff ensure you’re comfortable but also that you’re actively enjoying yourself. The food was out of this world. The juiciest, most flavorful filet mignon, the most succulent lobster- heck, the creamiest, richest Neva’s Potatoes you will ever have. And somehow, even that, does not compare to our amazing server we had. We would come back just to see Uncle Brent. He met us and immediately understood his assignment- he picked up on our vibe, he had a fun and playful spirit, and he treated us as if we were in his own home. Truly the best food, the best service we’ve had so far. 10/10

Google
This is our absolute favorite dining spot! The food is incredible, and it’s the only place where you can indulge in delicious crab claws (fingers). The service is exceptional—truly top-tier! And let’s not forget the gumbo; it’s simply out of this world! Also, The view is very nice and cozy.

Literally the BEST dinner I have ever had. We are spending the weekend here and came back the very next night. Steak 🥩 was perfection. The crab dip was the most delicious thing I have ever tried!! New Favorite Restaurant of All Time.

After reading all the reviews, we were excited to try this place. We booked a reservation for 7:15. Got there a half an hour early and was seated right away. Our waitress was nice but not good enough for the amount of money we spent on dinner. It took FOREVER to get drinks to the table. We put our order in, my soup came out before the dozen raw oysters we ordered. Which was fine but my meal was soup and salad so they both could have come out together so I wasn’t eating in front of my kids. The crab bisque was delicious. The shucked oysters, went down like candy. So good! I ordered a salad, son ordered the grilled shrimp (asked what side he wanted so my son said fries…) (just note the grilled shrimp was $16 on the menu) my husband ordered the mini tower ($68 bucks) and my girls ordered two kids cheese burgers. So when we all got our food before our husband, we just began eating. We were there 1.5 hours at that point and just wanted to get back to the hotel. Well, my husband didn’t get his food until he asked our waitress for it after my son’s food was gone, half my salad was gone. So by the time we got done and we got the bill, we were here for TWO HOURS with our three children. The bill comes and our waitress rang the shrimp my son ordered as a $30 meal so when we asked her about the $16 price on the menu, she said he ordered fries as a side and my husband said “so we paid $14 for French fries” and she said “well, he got an extra skewer of shrimp and fries.” My son just wanted the $16 grilled shrimp off the menu and didn’t want the extra sides and such to have made it a big meal, especially after we ordered oysters and the mini tower. After paying our bill, when walking back to the trolly stop, my husband and I both agreed that the food was good but the service was crap. There was no reason why his food sat on the counter for her to bring it to our table and didn’t. I also found it ridiculous that our waitress couldn’t us our bill faster was because she was sitting there de shelling a lobster at a table. We had to sit and wait for her to finish that and watch her refill water glasses at another table than to finish us up. She had to have known we were there a LONG TIME. No excuse for seafood when most of it was raw, took as long as it did to come out. Ps. The mini tower lobster and crab legs should have been warm. Not sitting on ice. How odd to eat those things in drawn butter, ice cold.

Wow, what a find. Great seafood in the mountains of Tennessee? It started with friendly attentive service. You can always tell a very well managed restaurant, everyone checks on you whether they are your assigned server or not. The food was well prepared. The vibe is clean modern and just the right noise level. They are just doing it right. A+

Yelp
The food was delicious and ambience was great. The service could have been better but the young man tried. He seemed new.

Yelp
Servers and host are really nice. Oysters are so good and fresh but the salmon and rice are so bad. It's not worth that price!!!!

Yelp
We have several excellent seafood restaurants in our area, and from trying the original location in Downtown Knoxville, I decided to try out the most touristy one in Gatlinburg. I made an online reservation easily and from there is where this location exceeded my expectations. They texted to confirm which I anticipated was an auto generated response. But they followed up with a personal response asking about our occasion. This was an incredible way to secure my wife's birthday dinner. Our table was ready on time if not a few minutes early and they set us up for the river view which really made the night special. Our server was friendly kind and patient as we worked through a cocktail and appetizer round. We started with the tuna appetizer, which was light and flavorful, not overly salty. For entrees my wife let the server pick between the boiled platter and crab cakes. I chose the Barrumundi special with an olive, onion, tomato and feta mixture with cream sauce underneath. It was a lighter fish and was a touch under, but I'd rather that than show leather, the fish was great. The broiled seafood platter was exceptional! She could barely finish it, the shrimp were exceptional and the crab cake almost no filler! The server offered up a free desert for her birthday and we were able to take advantage since the courses were light and we skipped salads. The Delaware pie was the perfect nightcap with coffee ice cream, Oreo crust and drizzled with chocolate syrup and candied pecans. It was the perfect celebration for her and I thought the atmosphere food and service were all in harmony. Definitely recommend if you come up to Gatlinburg but are craving the seafood escape!

Yelp
This was our second time visiting and now alongside our first time visiting parents and sibling. Our first visit July 2023, was incredible and I regret not leaving an initial review. But I can vividly remember what was ordered and everything was great including the service! Crab stuffed flounder, a dozen assorted oysters, and filet mignon--all divine! This most recent visit was subpar to our last visit. We made a reservation for 7:45p, arrived 7:48p due to extremely limited parking and no directions online whereas to park. We ended up settling in a lot .1 mi down the road and walked up; not bad at all. When we entered, just as last time there was line outside the door! We entered and checked in, we were quoted 15-20mins which is reasonable. 35mins passes and we still had a large party ahead of us, but were sat at 41mins passed reservation. The lobby being overcrowded with no wait seating and brisk outdoors all led to an uncomfortable and flustering, better yet, 'hangry-ing', start to our experience. After many years in the service and hospitality industry, I have found that during peak season, restaurants enforcing a 1.5-2hr seating limit has been the least stressful in guaranteeing a seat upon arrival, for both the patrons and the staff. It's extremely common in high volume tourism markets like Orlando, Atlanta, and coastal destinations. Once we were finally sat, our server was quick to grab our drinks and soon after wrap up our meal orders. She was good and attentive but not to the extent of seeking out her name for remembering. The raw oyster selection was the highlight of the night! I refuse to eat raw oysters harvested in the Gulf of Mexico; I'm a Virginia up to PEI kind of guy. The options were vast, and they had my 2 favorite regions: Wellfleet and York River, VA. I learned I have a hankering for Katama now as well. The other folks of the party ordered the Shrimp Chesapeake, the Scallops, and the Grilled Shrimp Skewers--all were incredible tasty and the best side was definitely the special Potatoes (can't remember the exact name!) We opted out of dessert because by that time, it was past 10p. During this visit, I learned 2 important lessons: Eat here earlier in the evening and don't come here with a party of 5 or more; we had 5. My partner and I will surely be back for our oyster fix in the mountains but doubt we'll return with a party for a great selection of cuisine.

Yelp
We visited Chesapeake during our 5-day stay in Pigeon Forge, and it was a great pick for our family of six. Luckily, we made reservations for Christmas Eve dinner--highly recommend doing so because the wait was enormous. The food was delicious, with the lobster and crab bisque being clear favorites. The service was a little slow, but given how packed it was, it was understandable. The menu is reasonably priced, especially for the seafood options. Our kids were happy too, with simple favorites like buttered noodles and chicken tenders. The ambiance was a bit loud, but that might've been due to the Christmas Eve crowd. Overall, it was a solid choice for a family meal with great seafood and kid-friendly options.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant. Good seafood. Good drinks. Beautiful bar. Great service. Would return, would recommend.

Yelp
Overall a decent meal but I wasn't blown away by anything. We started with 6 raw oysters. I liked the duxbury oysters - very large and meaty with just the right amount of saltiness. Yum! They also tasted pretty fresh so kudos to them for making that happen in a landlocked state. I ordered the broiled seafood platter which was honestly kind of a letdown. All the seafood had a little bit of this browned panko breading on top, and honestly all of it tasted pretty bland. The scallops were probably my favorite thing, but the cod, shrimp, and crab cake were all just meh. Even the fries I ordered as a side were just ok (and I normally love fries). They weren't very hot or crispy, sadly. At least the service was great and it was fun to try a new restaurant!

Yelp
Where do I begin! We were celebrating our Anniversary and decided to eat here based on recommendations from friends and locals. This place is absolutely outstanding! The service is exceptional, and they have the best seafood I've had in a long time! Their Blue Grab is flown in fresh from Maryland, and their crab cakes were amazing! Our Manhattan's and Old Fashioned's were top notch! The bread assortment they give you is yummo. I ordered the Seafood Platter and my hubby ordered Oysters and the Scallops. We will definitely be back the next time we make the trip down.

Yelp
I absolutely recommend this spot. The food and service were perfect. It looked like it was a little fancy but everything was average price. I'm not sure why it looked fancy I guess it was just the way the servers were dressed. Stop on in and see what you think. Also a bear Wales buy while we were there.

Yelp
The setting at Chesapeake's in Gatlinburg is beautiful, especially by the river, creating a perfect dining atmosphere. Our waiter, Mike, was incredible--especially with our kids, making the experience even more enjoyable. We had the trout and the grouper, and both were easily among the best pieces of fish we've had in Tennessee. The wine and cocktail selections were solid, complementing the meal perfectly. Overall, just a really great experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a great seafood restaurant by the river to celebrate my birthday! The food was delicious as well as the service was on point. They have a great wraparound bar as well as seating by the water which always is a plus! Everything from our drinks to appetizers as well as main entrées and dessert was top-notch. Looking forward to visiting again.

Yelp
Good seafood and bar experience. Lots of interior space, and well lighted. The food is good, the Mushrooms Stuffed with Crab were unremarkable, and the Baked Crab Dip needed more chunk crabmeat, though the mini-crab claws were a nice innovation. There is a wine list and a full bar. The Slower Delaware Pie is an extravagant meal in itself. Service was friendly prompt.

Yelp
Definitely was not expecting a restaurant of this quality in Gatlinburg, as most of the establishments are built around moving lots of people through efficiently and quickly, but Chesapeake's is breaking the mold. On recommendations from my best friend, I made reservations a couple of days before my visit, and I would highly recommend reserving a table, as they probably stay pretty full. The interior and vibe was trendy with white walls, wood accents, blue lights, and awesome furnishings. Our waiter, Mark, took such great care of us. He had a great attitude, made perfect recommendations, went above and beyond on everything, and he treated us like family. We started off with a pecan pie martini and a glass of wine which were both excellent. Then came the table bread which was soooo good! I did the salad with shrimp for an appetizer and the stuffed flounder for the main course. This meal was spectacular, and I will be putting Chesapeake's on my list every time I come back to Gatlinburg. Mark was even great to the end and sent us home a couple of extra muffins with our leftovers. This is such a great find, and kudos to the Chesapeake Team!!!!

Yelp
The food choices in Gatlinburg are challenging, so we chose to spend more $$ to get higher quality food and Chesapeakes was our favorite restaurant the entire trip! I wish I remembered our servers name because he was spot on with recommendations and service. The broiled seafood platter was a generous amount of food and a great deal for the price! Everything was cooked to perfection and that is the best crab cake I've ever had. The stuffed grouper was excellent and again, a great portion. Not pictured was an acorn squash, which was good but I'd probably go with a different side. I try to avoid bread when I go to restaurants but I tried every one and didn't regret it :,). It was so yummy. Loved the oysters. My boyfriend ordered a few raw ones from Maine and gave rave reviews.

Yelp
We came to this restaurant without reservation and they were able to seat 5 of us. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pretty nice for the Gatlinburg downtown touristy strip. Our server, Rose, was attentive, friendly, and gave us good recommendation on the food. She brought these amazing bread basket and they were so fresh, warm, and delicious. My husband ordered the wolffish on top of linguini alfredo and he opted for brussel sprout with bacons for the side. I got the broiled seafood and it has shrimps, scallops, and fish. We also ordered the oyster sampler and they were so good especially the chesapeake oyster. My kids had the kid hamburger, fried fish, fries, kids grilled shrimps, and vanilla milkshake. They enjoyed their dinner. We also like seeing the lobsters in the aquarium and the river view from the restaurant. A must visit restaurant if you are in downtown Gatlinburg for sure.
google avatar

Christy T.

Yelp
I consider myself a gumbo specialist - I loved their gumbo!!! Their clam chowder was excellent also. We had their fried shrimp and fried seafood platter. The breading was heavier than I would like, but the scallops and the cod on the platter were delicious. It was SO much food. Seriously consider splitting a platter unless you are a linebacker! The service was excellent - you definitely need a reservation if it is a weekend night!
google avatar

Marlin S.

Yelp
The was good, prices decent, quality seafood nice portion sizes, service was great. Will be back N.A. definitely recommend if you quality food for a decent price!

Sidra W.

Yelp
Made reservations here for my birthday dinner. Great food and drink selection. Wasn't sure how our kids (5 & 8) would enjoy it since kids menu wasn't found online, but they LOVED it! Kids menu had lots of choices and very reasonable. The oysters Chesapeake were delicious, as were the shrimp and grits. Definitely glad to have a great seafood restaurant close to home!

Yelp
The people working the front could be nicer however I do want to highlight our server Johnathan. He's absolutely fantastic and truly steers you in the right direction when it comes to the menu. He ensured everything was up to our standard and really took care of us. You can tell he cares about his customers and in a tourist town, it's so appreciated. The food, wow it was amazing. Their policy is that the seafood is flown in every 24-48 hours and you can tell. The quality was amazing. We got their calamari, maryland crab cakes, corvina, 1/2 dozen oysters, and the dulce de leche cake. All of it was 5/5 amazing. The patio was really nice and private, it could get a little loud if there are big parties but you can really see the water.

Yelp
This restaurant is one of the more popular ones that you need to call ahead for a reservation. It's fine dining so probably should dress up a little bit. My husband got the oysters and I got their stuffed flounder with crab and a lobster tail on top of quinoa and a cream sauce on top of all of that. My husband liked the variety of oysters you could pick from. But I wasn't too impressed with my $40 meal. We are from the south and I think are used to more seasoning. We frequent New Orleans a lot, so love the Cajun touch to seafood. We wanted to try this restaurant because of all of the good reviews, but it just wasn't that for us. I asked for extra cream sauce because there wasn't much on it. But the sauce really didn't have that much flavoring. The seafood was cooked well but not flavorful. My husband and I joked that our favorites were the appetizer breads, side salad, and their spinach Maria. Not the main dishes.

Yelp
Service 5* Larry talked with early got a feel for our taste, recommended all our meals. They were all dead on 1. Ribeye with Lobster tail, 5*+ onion rings 4.7 2 Shrimp and crab for the ladies 4.8, they both loved it 3. Seafood feast 4.6. A lot of food, all was great Service was the best I've ever had get Larry

Yelp
I give the Chesapeake 5 out of 5 stars. The food was amazing. We had the crab bisque, calamari, crab cake sandwich, stuffed shrimp, and the best onion rings that I have had in a while. We ate to all before getting a pictures. Pictured is my free bday dessert. Surprisingly very tasty. The food was amazing but the service was even better. Our waitress was the definition of southern hospitality. I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Great service. Seated with a reservation. Great view along the Little Pigeon River. Food was awesome. Had fresh snapper, lump crab cake appetizer, crab bisque and Caesar salad. Fair wine list. Good experience Our waitress Kaitlin was awesome.
google avatar

Karina N.

Yelp
Larry, our sever was exceptionally attentive and kind. The food was also amazing, we had the crab cake (nice and meaty), the clam chowder soup was delicious, the bread was amazing and it kept coming! Our main meal was delicious lobster with a loaded potato, spicy Mac and cheese and the spinach Maria. We would highly recommend this for a nice meal and a posible bear sight. We see bears ever time we dine here.
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Great food. I had the crab cake and some oysters. Delicious! I sat at the bar as unusually do and enjoyed chatting with some other guests. So the atmosphere was great. I think the head bartender was overwhelmed because she was all over the place. So service was kind of slow. But overall a great evening

Yelp
WONDERFUL meal at Chesapeake's Gatlinburg. A beautiful, fine dining restaurant specializing in fresh seafood. The restaurant has an oysters and extensive catch of the day menu that really impressed me. Our meal started with a complimentary bread basket with tasty little breads, including a croissant and cornbread mini-muffin that was to die for. We split a Maryland blue lump crab cake that was all crab, no filler, for an appetizer. For dinner, mom had fried prawns with broccoli. The prawns were lightly fried and absolutely delicious! I had one of the specials: wolffish. It's a fish that eats crustaceans and tastes like lobster/sweet shrimp. The fish was baked and topped with panko breadcrumbs and topped with a lovely lobster sauce with bits of lobster. It sat on a bed of brown rice and quinoa. It was DIVINE. I'll order wolffish whenever I see it on a menu! Great green beans tossed in garlic butter, too. Our server was wonderful and I was so impressed with this restaurant - a great respite in downtown Gatlinburg that is riddled with tourist traps.

Yelp
Reservations recommended but not required. Casual attire as many diners are just coming in from walking the strip but dressing up is always an option. You wouldn't feel out of place since it's technically an upscale restaurant. We had a short wait since we didn't have a reservation and once we were seated everything went smoothly. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and I had plenty of questions. My husband absolutely loved his fried shrimp and my scallops and lobster tail were cooked to perfection. My baked potato was over cooked. I wished I ordered the onion rings because my husband did and they were so good. I didn't say anything about the potato...I struggled through it. My seafood made up for it.
google avatar

Jasmine C.

Yelp
We arrived at Chesapeake's at 7:30 PM, facing a 1.5-hour wait, but opted for the bar, where the attentive bartender ensured a prompt seating. The crab dip, accompanied by delectable crab claws, was a hit. The gumbo was bursting with flavor and heartiness, while the crab soup left a slight mystery. My crab cakes with spinach Maria were a delight, especially appreciating the non-fried approach. The initial mix-up with the potato hash was swiftly corrected. The broiled platter pleased my mother-in-law, and my husband relished the surprisingly filling shrimp Chesapeake. Even the shrimp and grits won over my father-in-law. Though on the pricier side, the overall dining experience at Chesapeake's was undeniably worth it.
google avatar

Alyssa C.

Yelp
I had a reservation but it was a pretty quiet Sunday evening and not too busy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The slow Delaware pie was delicious but I couldn't finish it. The seasonal cocktail menu had a lot of great options. I loved the shrimp cocktail. It was freash, the shrimp were large and the cocktail sauce was perfect. I got the blackened scallops with spinach Maria. Both were delicious. I started researching spinach Maria recipes so I could duplicate it as I was eating it! This is definitely a nice restaurant but still very family friendly. Some of the freshest seafood I ever had away from the coast.
google avatar

Kristy N.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and had an amazing meal! The drinks were great and the food was great. My husband had the grilled oysters and he said they were the best he's ever had. It was a very busy night and unfortunately we didn't have a reservation but luckily for us, we were able to grab 2 seats at the bar. The bartender was great and bantered with us despite being slammed. It is noisy in here but it is a nice restaurant so if you're looking for an intimate place to dine, this is not your place.
google avatar

Ruth L.

Yelp
Nice experience here with my kids and husband. Salad - fresh and not shy with the shrimp scallops and crab Calamari - crispy and good Red Snapper - husband said it was a good but a bit salty Kids meals - they loved it Baked potato side - loaded and delicious Oysters - fresh Corvina - light and good Paired a white wine that went well. Clean restaurant, good staff and service. Prices range from $16 for salad - $35+ for seafood entrees. Steak available too.

Yelp
We went here on a "dinner crawl" and had Caesar salad and stuffed mushrooms. They served actual anchovies on the salad and it was wonderful. I recollected this from our last visit, and had to go again. The stuffed mushrooms were very tasty and there was plenty of butter to "sop up". It's a pleasant departure from the "genre" dining. A bit more pricey, but if sharing (portions are fine). Our server (Babs) was awesome. She was so congenial and welcoming. We had to move from Riverview but the windows due to the sun baking us. And no questions asked. She was genuine good soul.

Yelp
Fantastic service and food in this adorable town near the Smokey's. My server was Brooklyn who took great care of me during my visit. I ordered their seafood salad and had a special request if they could serve the shrimp and scallops hot instead of cold on my salad. She asked the chef and they were happy to make it as I wished. It came out delicious! I also had a great cocktail.

Yelp
Fine dining waiter was excellent Very nice views of river and food was very good had the steak and seafood meal

Yelp
Indulging in Chesapeake's seafood was an exceptional dining experience. Widely touted as Gatlinburg's best, it lived up to the acclaim. The freshness of the seafood, flown in every 24-48 hours, was evident in every delectable bite, particularly the scrumptious oysters and appetizers. Our server, Jonathon (apologies if misspelled), was outstanding. He provided fantastic recommendations and effortlessly managed our lively group. The prices for seafood in the mountains were surprisingly reasonable, and the drinks, reasonably priced too, tasted delightful. I especially enjoyed a well-crafted dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives, a perfect dessert cocktail. When in Gatlinburg, Chesapeake's is a culinary must-visit--a testament to exceptional seafood, excellent service, and a great overall dining experience.
google avatar

Raghu M.

Yelp
Food was excellent. The server was little pushy on ordering things. I assumed he wanted to get the order in and go home. He was very informative about things around the restaurant. Go for the food and food only.

Milagros G.

Yelp
Our best experienced dining in Gatlinburg amazing service from the moment you walk in the hostess the gentleman was awesome. The waiter was amazing. The food was amazing. The view from the window of the river was great. The oysters were amazing. You have a large selection of different oysters the refresh, salty delicious. We ate at the rated best restaurants in Gatlinburg the whole time that we were there, and this one definitely came out number one and every category.

Yelp
We ate here before a ghost walk tour and made sure to make reservations beforehand since it was a Saturday. Highly recommend since this place was busy. We had great seats next to big windows that looked out over a creek. Our waitress was attentive and our food was delicious, they update the menu seasonally so I can't remember exactly what fish we ordered.

Yelp
Pros: food was amazing (we had the mini seafood tower $65) 1/2 dozen oysters of house ouster, dozen mussels, 3 small lobster tail, 5 large shrimp and 1/2 crab bunch (so one pincher, little legs) all really fresh and comes with all the sauces on the side We also had 2 seafood salad -$19 each, comes w scallops, large shrimp, some crab..delicious Kids menu was pretty good as well, allowing for a side dish that adults could get so not just fries like most restaurants.. our little one got the spinach w cheese side - amazing and she is not a spinach fan Cons: i had told the server that is my spouse bday yet nothing was done to celebrate. I would expect that a restaurant like this would go an extra mile for a special occasion, so quite disappointed that did not occur Additionally- dessert menu was unappealing and lack choices.. i think there were 3 items to pick and for a kid to not want to oder dessert, you know its bad Also- there is a back section to restaurant that is not quite as nice as front... they wanted to put us back there and I insisted to be moved to the main restaurant due the poor ambiance back there .. Overall seafood was quite good, need to work on making a special occasion special ... and update your dessert menu..

Yelp
Really good food and service. Very professional and attentive staff. Here's a review of the food: 1. Bread bowl was great cos it had a variety of breads to choose from. 2. Crab bisque - meh. I would skip this one. Didn't taste like it was made in house. 3. Crab fingers appetizer - outstanding. Fresh and flavorful 4. Flounder - outstanding. Delicate, perfectly cooked, flavorful yet subtle. 5. Grilled shrimp - outstanding. Great charred flavor, large and not over cooked. 6. Scallops - yummy and cooked perfectly. 7. Trout - exactly executed, count have had a little more flavor. Overall I would say this is by far the best restaurant in Gatlinburg

Yelp
Our family of 4 adults celebrated Christmas at Chesapeake's. We were lucky to have a reservation, as the wait for a table was over two hours! Our table overlooked the creek behind the restaurant, and we were alerted to watch for bears at dusk. Exciting! Our server was professional but cordial and friendly, and the menu was so extensive it was hard to decide what to eat. My stuffed lobster (it was a special occasion, after all) was cooked perfectly and packed to the top of his tummy with luscious, meaty crabmeat stuffing. Divine. One in our group had the fried seafood platter, which was a mound of giant shrimp, scallops, and fish in a yummy batter coating. None in our group had anything but raves at the end of our dinner. I won't return to Gatlinburg again over the holidays because of the crowds, but if I return another time, I won't pass up a trip to Chesapeake's.

Yelp
Update, recently went back for dinner to The Chesapeake. Had the seafood tower, loads of seafood piled high with two steamed fresh lobster tails, jumbo cocktail shrimp, crab legs and oysters on the half shell. Drawn butter, cocktail sauce and another mustard based dipping sauce, nice variety. Paired well with a cold beer. Service was friendly, smart. Excellent experience overall!

Yelp
10/10!! Food: Higher price tag but worth every penny. Food is fresh, cooked to perfection and the presentation is exquisite. Service: Mark was easily my favorite aspect of the experience. He was knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and truly wanted to deliver excellent service. His entire aura showed that he belongs in fine dining service or expensive taste. If you go, ask if you can be seated with him, you will not regret it. Ambiance: The music (playlist) the restaurant had showed real good taste in classic music. So many hits from the 80s- early 00s. I wrote down each one so I could recreate my own playlist. Overall, if I am in Gatlinburg I will be returning and also asking for Mark!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday night without a reservation and were told it would be about 45 mins but we were able to snag a couple seats at the bar with full food service. Our bartender was very friendly and we ordered a couple drinks. We followed that up with the mushroom appetizer and she offered us some breads. The mushrooms were crab stuffed with a buttery lemon sauce and delicious. We dipped our breads in the sauce, yummy! We both ordered from the daily special menu. I got the red snapper over potatoes with a red pepper aioli and Brussels sprouts. My husband got the filet mignon with the lobster tail and broccoli. My plate, although delicious flavors, was not warm enough, it felt like it had been ready for a while and was now cold. I expected my food to be the proper temperature with the prices we paid. My husband enjoyed his plate. I definitely recommend you get the Brussels sprouts if they have them on the specials menu because they were fantastic, roasted with bacon and a balsamic glaze. We both left completely stuffed.

Yelp
My wife and I went to dinner at Chesapeake's this past Wednesday night. I ordered the haddock special and my wife ordered the seafood salad special. Both were delicious. Probably one of the best fish dinners I've had in many years. Our waitress Chelsea was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. During our 3 day stay in Gatlinburg we almost went there a second night, but decided to give another restaurant a try.

Yelp
My family came here with a large party and were able to be accommodated well. I first want to give a huge shout out to our server, Meesha. She handled our large party and her other tables so well. I was a little concerned that she had too many people as I know my family is enough for one person. However, she was polite and attentive doing her best. We had: Crab stuffed mushrooms Chesapeake shrimp Nevas potatoes Scallops Lobster. Everything was delicious! I especially enjoyed the Chesapeake shrimp and the baked potato was especially yummy. We had no complaints and also enjoyed the complimentary bread. If you're looking for a more classy dining experience in Gatlinburg, I'd definitely recommend this place.
