Hip ramen bar with graffitied walls serves noodles and Asian bites, plus beer, wine & cocktails.
"After over 10 years, this spot for Southeast Asian noodle dishes closed in June due to owners deciding not to continue with their lease." - Ernest Owens
"Ben Puchowitz and Shawn Darragh of Bing Bing Dim Sum brought their Asian-with-a-Jewish-twist cuisine to Frankford Avenue with Cheu. The popular spot for ramen, rice bowls, and dumplings is set in a former horse stable, with a bright red bar and eye-catching decor." - Ernest Owens, Eater Staff
"Cheu has a massive outdoor alley space that feels like you’re eating in a secret passageway (one that has lots of neon red). It’s a large shared space with metal tables, hanging lanterns, and space heaters for the colder months. On the menu, you’ll find Japanese small plates like pork and chive dumplings and cheesy squash rangoon, but the savory brisket ramen is what you should go for, regardless if it’s chilly or hot out. While you can’t really share a soup, everybody at your table should get it and call it a day since it’s the best thing here. Pair it with a bottle of shochu and you’re well on your way to a fun night in Fishtown. " - candis mclean
"The black garlic wings at Cheu Fishtown are tangy with a sauce consisting of a fermented bulb of garlic that’s pureed with soy sauce and cooked in brown sugar, and they’re served with sesame, lime, and scallions or cilantro." - Ernest Owens, Eater Staff
"The brisket ramen at Cheu in Fishtown is more satisfying than a barista spelling your name right on the first try. The brisket is soft, juicy, and incredibly flavorful. It’s not every day you see a matzo ball in a ramen bowl, but the combination works in this spicy dish." - Candis Mclean
