La Chèvre d'Or

"What is striking as you arrive at the Château de la Chèvre d'Or is its exceptional location affording a jaw-dropping view. Perched high up on the flank of a rocky hillside in a medieval village, this place commands stunning views of the Côte d'Azur hinterland and the glinting Mediterranean. When it comes to the food, there is plenty to get enthusiastic about. Drawing on delicious produce sourced in the area (fish, meat, vegetables, olive oil and herbs) and all the talent we associate with him, Arnaud Faye creates harmonious and precise dishes that are often irresistible." - Michelin Inspector

Château de la Chèvre d'Or

"In a medieval village on a cliff between Monaco and Nice above the Mediterranean, this former artists’ retreat is divided among a stone castle and buildings within the village. Cobblestone paths lead to individually decorated rooms, most with sea views. Inside, stone is incorporated into the floor, walls, and ceilings. The Presidential Suite is an homage to gilt where the sundeck has a heated infinity pool and whirlpool with sea views. The cuisine in the main restaurant, La Chèvre d’Or—which is open from March through December—is better than the top tables of Monte Carlo. Les Remparts serves Mediterranean dishes on a terrace with views over the bay to St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat."

Exquisite location with spectacular views. Great for 2-3 days, although the actual town is relatively limited for things to do. Best for a romantic adult getaway. The restaurants were excellent, as well as the cocktails at the bar. Staff very helpful and efficient. Only requests would be more frequent poolside service, with better cocktail options and maybe slightly less pricey at the pool.

My husband and I stayed here on the end of our honeymoon and we are so happy we did- if we started here, we may have never left! Located within the village of Eze, the views were on another level. The gardens and sculptures were amazing- photos truly did not do it justice. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning and the lunch and dinner we had at the hotel was phenomenal. The service was exactly what you would expect from this level of hotel. We absolutely loved our stay here.

I’ve never seen a more beautiful hotel / landscape in my life. The property is stunning, the rooms are lovely, and the service is top notch. The gardens are gorgeous. If you’re staying at the hotel, they absolutely take care of you at the bars/ restaurants. Only slight downside was how expensive food / drinks were relative to some of the other really great food we’ve had across the region. We will definitely be back!

The Hôtel Château de La Chèvre d’Or was truly one of the most unique 5 Star properties that I've stayed at. Integrated into a mountain top medieval wall city village overlooking the Mediterranean, our room was a gem, the service was a gem, the restaurant was a gem - the whole experience was among the best I've had. We'd call for any services and like magic, it would be delivered to the room within 10 minutes. They must have service locations scattered throughout the village. They employ a large team of very fit service people who carry luggage and deliver towels to the rooms throughout the property. It was not inexpensive, but I felt for what I paid, I received very good value.

Everything was magnificent except for one detail. The bathroom in room 46 smells very faintly of stale/sewage water. It was not overwhelming, and thus we chose not to say anything during our stay. However, I think it is helpful we tell management for future visitors. Otherwise, the service, the views and the hotel itself is magnificent. Nicholas at the Concierge was especially impressive. Bravo, Nicholas! We will return here without hesitation. - Todd Moses

We loved our stay there, the room was beautiful and tranquil, a nice respite from the heat and fellow tourists. Every one of the large number of staff there was friendly and welcoming. Dinner at their 2-star Michelin restaurant was wonderful too.

Yelp
Hands down our most favorite hotel in the world! This hotel is lovely, elegant, classy, and unique. We were greeted with such warm welcome from the staff and every single person we encountered went above and beyond. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a junior suite and oh-my-gosh the view is to die for. We stayed for only 4 nights as part of our 5-week European honeymoon and so far it has been the best hotel yet. The view, the staff, the hotel itself is unbelievably incredible! We will be coming back again for sure!

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. My only hope in posting this review is that the management take it seriously for future guests, so as not to treat anyone like this ever again. I am still physically shaking and crying as I write this. I was treated unbelievably disrespectfully by the restaurant manager, to the point where people sitting next to me were staring IN SHOCK and asking him "what is with that attitude?" Here is what happened: I walked in and asked if I could have lunch. The server said that this area was only for tapas, so I agreed that that was fine. Then I saw an open table in the restaurant (directly connected to the bar on the terrace) and asked if I could sit there and he said yes. The waitress from the restaurant came over and offered me the restaurant lunch menu and asked if I would like to order off of that menu. I said yes and placed my order. The burrata which was €34, the french fries which were €14, and a bottle of sparkling water, which was €9. I then sat there for about 15 minutes waiting for a place setting, or even the bottle of sparkling water that I'd ordered, anything. Finally, after seeing the table next to me immediately get seated and served with their water, I flagged down another server and asked her about the status of my sparkling water. She looked at me confused and said I was sitting in the bar. I told her that the woman who took my order said I was sitting in the restaurant and I ordered off of the restaurant menu. She walked away and grabbed this tall man who I assume was the manager. He came over and with an immediate attitude, said "so what's going on?!" and threw his hands in the air. I looked at him stunned and clarified that I had ordered two dishes for my entrée 15 minutes ago from one of the restaurant servers. He said no that's the sommelier, you can't order food from her (though he has no idea who I'm even talking about because the woman who took my order is nowhere to be seen ) and again I replied that server from the restaurant had taken my food order. He then ROLLED HIS EYES at me. At this point the two tables sitting next to me were both staring with their eyes wide open and jaws agape at the man. The woman next to me stared at me concerned and said she couldn't believe his attitude. He came back with a notepad and said annoyed: "well what do you want to eat?!" I once again told him that I had already placed my order. At this point half of the restaurant was looking at this man's embarrassing behavior. I looked at the table next to me and said "I think not, right?" And they nodded their heads and said "this is awful." So I got up and walked out. I can't believe that a restaurant of this caliber would treat me like this. I am a woman from Los Angeles, in my 30s, traveling alone, wearing Christian Dior shoes and a Louis Vuitton necklace... So it's not like I was some riffraff who stumbled in...not that that would even justify how horribly I was treated. I'm horrified at the experience. Dear management, please do better. I'm also a travel influencer with hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of likes across my channels, and was looking forward to posting a nice review...that clearly won't be happening now. Though I may have something else to say to my audience.

Yelp
A visit to the south of France is not complete without a visit to Eze village which is a quaint little medieval town, but overlooking it is the @lachevredor is a gorgeous hotel with multiple restaurants and an unobstructed view of the water It has a 2 Michelin star restaurant; which we tried to reserve with no avail, we were told we might be able to get a walk in reservation but didn't end up getting that. We opted to just sit on the patio of their second restaurant "Les Ramparts". We ordered 1. Ceviche: This was good but nothing memorable 2. Foie gras: was actually heavenly, the preserved fruits were perfectly sweet and served with slightly toasted bread. 3. Chilled creamy soup(?): The flavors were really on-point, super creamy and the chips ontop and shaved truffle gave it great texture and aroma 4. Seabass: The skin on this eas perfectly crispy and the quinoa bits were crispy and the pickled onions were sweet and tangy 5: Diorama dessert: I was most looking forward to this but was disappointed by how simple it turned out to be. It was creamy and delicious, but I felt that the pastry chef's other creations were more interesting/unique, but what sold me was they made it specially for Dior Definitely recommend paying a visit if you visit the south of France!

Yelp
Experience of a lifetime. Absolutely magnificent in every way. Imagine a beautifully appointed hotel, with the highest level of classic European hospitality set in an exquisite village bursting with flowers, at the top of a mountain overlooking the Côte d'Azur and then add in a Michelin starred restaurant. It was perfection.

Yelp
Amazing meal at Eze, Chèvre d'Or has it down. Creative dishes, perfect setting, amazing attentive service, just about everything was done perfectly. There are 2 restaurants so when making reservation, be sure to select what you want, the fine dining indoors (has amazing view from panoramic wall sized windows) or the option outdoors. Tables are limited so reserve way in advance.

Yelp
Stunning views from this medieval city high above the Mediterranean. Food and ambiance superb and staff very attentive. A really amazing start to our trip in France. Started the mean with cocktails outside overlooking the water then moved inside for dinner.

Yelp
Amazing. The hotel is built into the side of a mountain and intertwined with the village Eze. The views are nothing short of breath taking. It is so quaint and everything is cobble stoned, covered in flowering ivy and gorgeous. The whole experience was 5 stars from check in to check out. We took an uber from the airport to the hotel and it was a twisty turning ride up the mountain. The hotel is gated and doesn't allow people to just walk around the property- which we found nice because the town of Eze has tour buses pulling in daily and unloading hoards of people. Our suite was really nice- you have a living room area that has separate entrance to the bathroom and bedroom. Our bedroom had another small sitting area with a television and windows that opened out to view the ocean. The bathroom was marble city and had a hobbit like door that my husband had to duck to go through. The shower was separate from the glorious, huge, jetted tub. We also had his and hers vanities. If you're looking for the electrical outlet for your hair styling tools it's under the sink, in the cabinet alllll the way in the back of the cabinet! The closet had plenty of room to hang up everything we brought. Despite the medieval village, everything in the room was modern and seemed newly renovated. Our room wasn't too terribly far up the hill, but we did have to climb a few sets of stairs. When we checked in we had welcome drinks offered to us on the patio looking out over the Mediterranean. This patio area has the best view- this is where we also ate breakfast. You can go down a flight of stairs from this patio to the pool area. We ended up spending a day lying under the gazebo next to the pool all day. The service by the pool is drinks only, but you can walk to the restaurant right by the pool if you want some pizzas, sandwiches, burgers- things like that. I strongly recommend you try to get reservations for the Michelin star restaurant on site. Be sure to request a table by the window so you can take in the magnificent view. This is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed that wasn't smack dab on the beach. The views are just amazing. Sunset and sunrise are so perfect. It's definitely pricey, but so worth it!!

Yelp
Really wonderful foods and view here. I had dinner during sunset and it was pretty magical the seascape beyond the glass windows of the restaurant that is tucked neatly on the mountains top of Eze. Would love to come back here again and see if anything new has been added

Yelp
Perched atop the rolling hills of the medieval Eze village in the south of France, you can't help but fall in love with this charming hotel. The grounds are spectacular with breathtaking views of the French Riviera below and a provincial old town feel that sets the tone for a relaxing getaway. The rooms are modest and IMO in dire need of a renovation and update. The dated furniture, hardware and upholstery look like they were stuck in the 80s or something. There are some perks, however, like the thoughtful welcome reception with Bellinis, macarons, sweets and bottled water. They also provide a jacuzzi tub with Lanvin bath products, which was impressive. I only stayed one night, but my sleep was restful because the town gets very quiet after dark and the silence will cradle you into a deep comfortable sleep. Don't forget to visit the church and gardens when you're in town. They offer more beautiful views and of course, the restaurant is a must.

Yelp
This is a perfect, divine and magical place on this Earth !... Only Good vibrations and bliss at the "Château de la Chèvre d'Or". Every detail, garden, statues, furniture, objects, etc... are chosen or made with Love, with a sweet intention in them. I Wish it would be cheaper... but regarding the high maintenance of the place, and the big amount of amazing people working there, it may have a lots of expenses ! i would go there again and again, i would live there for years, be rejuvenated and purified in that divine place ! Fabulous spectacular views, vibrations, energies ! Also, it is much much better than many hotels with 5 Stars. i highly recommend the "Château de la Chèvre d'Or" to anyone.

Yelp
Everything about this place is heavenly and divine. I look forward to my return. It is especially peaceful. I only stayed two nights but I must stay much longer next time. The Les Remparts Terrace Restaurant for lunch is magnificent. The chef, Vincenzo Regine, will prepare in such a way that all is memorable and 'gourmet'.

Yelp
I didn't actually stay here, but had a chance to look around. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Eze is on a mountain and this hotel is at the top of that mountain. The hotel, like Eze, is quiet, calm, relaxing, and beautiful. I wanted to have tea on their terrace overlooking the riviera, but we were on a tight schedule. There's not much going on in Eze, no nightife. It's a very small village with cute shops. I did find Eeyore trudging slowly up the cobblestone with his owner walking behind him. He stopped to eat grass much to the dismay of his master. If I was a kid I would've run up, hugged him, and tried to ride him. I squashed my inner child urges and settled for a few pics. I could see the potential headlines for their local newspaper. "Japonais Fille Folle"(Crazy Japanese Girl). I'm Korean but everywhere I went people kept asking me "Japonais"? At first I told people, "Non, I was Corean," but I changed my response to "Oui, oui, Japonais". It was easier for both parties involved. I found my favorite souvenir in one of Eze's small shops. It's a tiny round cardboard musical box with blue skies and angels. I'll wind it up whenever I want to be transported back.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel overall and the views, like others have said are amazing. A couple of comments: 1. It is very expensive overall, but then again it's nestled in Southern France between Nice and Monaco. We actually had to sell our first born into indentured servitude(but in a year we get him back so it's no biggie). 2. The grounds themselves are out of the world beautiful. It's as though you are in a fairy tale. 3. Our room was very nice, clean and quiet, but nothing amazing. 4. We ate at both restaurants. The views from these restaurants were incredible. The food was good but nothing was particularly memorable. Keep in mind that I live in New York and have access to all types of delicious food. I still think eating at the restaurants is worth it just for the views alone. We plan on going back, next time we plan on harvesting our parents organs in order to afford our stay.

Yelp
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel for everyone. First be aware that there are stairs, and stairs and more stairs. The hotel was first class all the way, they don't charge the expensive south of france rates as many other top hotels in more popular cities. There are 2 amazing pools at the hotel, lots of lounge chairs 3 restaurants. The breakfast was very impressive, but I think they could mix it up a little bit. My room had a lot of quirks but nothing I would complain about just not everything was perfect, my bedroom was on floor 1 and bathroom on floor 2. There was no garbage or tissues on floor 1, so going up the stairs which was a iron spiral case was hard on my bare feet. They could carpet the spiral staircase without taking any of the charm of the room away. The bathroom mirror, I had to duck to see my face, nor was there a full size mirror at all in the whole apartment. This is something that could easily be added. I think there were a few language issues with the concierge which I get being in a foreign country, but the valet guys and the breakfast crew all spoke perfect English, so I was a little frustrated at times. Also note they have a pool guy down at the bottom pool. which is amazing because running up the 10 flights of stairs to get something is very tough on the legs. Thank you for getting my cardio game in the best shape.

Yelp
They have the best restaurant with the best view in Eve by far. It is simply stunning. We had the fish and Napoleon Cake. Also know that the parking in Eve is insane so be prepared to take 30 minutes to park and find this place.

Atif A.

Yelp
The hotel is something that everybody has to see with its historic value. The stoned pathways and archways bring an added element to the overall experience. The restaurant is not bad either. The views from the restaurant were amazing and unforgettable. Our waiter was very nice and had a good sense of humor. He recommended we order a pizza, and we did. Everything on the pizza was made from scratch and you could tell how fresh the ingredients were. I then ordered the red meat entree, which was bland and was a disappointment compared to the pizza. The dessert was not the best I ever had. So overall, the restaurant was not bad, but it wasn't the best I ever had. For that reason, I only gave it 4 stars. Afterwards, we went to the garden and took some pics with the statues. I'm not sure I would return for the restaurant, but I would definitely go back to Eze for the views.

Yelp
A hotel built directly into the rocks in the small village of Eze, Chevre d'Or's crown jewels are (1) a mind-blowing Jardin Exotique and (2) its stunning views of the mediterranean. Not much more needs to be said about this establishment. It certainly deserves its five-star rating and should be considered as a place to stay if you are planning a trip to the French riviera.
