The 19 Best Sandwiches In Miami

"La Italiana Let’s get something out of the way: it’s a $21 dollar sandwich with not a lot of ingredients. Bread, cheese, mortadella, pesto, and honey. But what you’re paying for is quality. The mortadella is shaved paper thin, turning its cubes of fat translucent. It’s layered with chunky pesto with extra Sicilian pistachios for crunch, and then drizzled with sweet truffled wildflower honey. The vessel of choice on its journey to your mouth is soft strecci bread with creamy whipped ricotta that oozes from the sides. This is not the kind of sandwich you eat in front of anyone. Not just for the mess it makes—but because seeing the joy it brings you might make them want to steal it. And there goes your $21." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino

The Best Restaurants On Coral Way

"We’re not sure if it’s just a coincidence that this place's name sounds like chévere, which means super cool in Spanish, but we love the double entendre because this little cheese shop is super cool and does have a great selection of goat’s milk cheeses. This is the cheese shop Miami has desperately needed, and it is the best place in town to grab some harder-to-find European cheeses, like a sharp, nutty Paski Sir from Croatia or a Fourme aux Moeulleux washed in Vouvray. You can also grab some locally made mozzarella, some of the most delicious yogurt cups we’ve ever had, luxury meats, charcuterie, and some very fancy pantry staples. It’s a great place to stock up on supplies for that picnic you’re organizing for your partner to make up for yesterday’s unapproved shopping spree." - carlos c olaechea, ryan pfeffer

The Best Things We Ate This Week

"Fourme aux Moelleux We stumbled onto this Coral Way cheese shop on our way back from lunch and were surprised that we’d never encountered it before, since we try to stay up to date on all things cheese. That’s probably because it’s only been around for about a month. It’s a cute shop with shelves of gourmet European products and some locally made jams, yogurts, and mozzarella. But the focal point of the entire operation is the small yet extremely well-curated cheese case. We fell in love with the Fourme aux Moelleux after trying a sample and took a half-pound home with us. This French blue cheese is a Chevre exclusive in Miami, and is infused with slightly sweet, refreshingly tart vouvray wine. We love this on a baguette with some jam, but it’s even good on a potato chip." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea

Chèvre Miami - Review - Coral Way - Miami - The Infatuation

"Chèvre is a small cheese shop on Coral Way with an adorable bow tie-wearing goat as its logo. The reason you're coming here is the display case full of unique cheeses, some pricey but excellent sandwiches, and Basque cheesecake. They'll let you taste pretty much anything before you buy it. A refrigerator case also has some fresher cheeses, like locally made truffled burrata and fancy meats. There are also shelves lined with imported gourmet products, like crackers and toasts, as well as some made-in-Miami jams, including one made with blueberries and lavender that you should definitely take home with you. This is the kind of cheese shop Miami has desperately needed. photo credit: CLEVELAND JENNINGS / @EATTHECANVASLLC" - Carlos C Olaechea

Each visit here has been a wonderful experience. The staff members who assisted me on different occasions were consistently kind and very helpful. They are generous in offering samples if you’re torn between two cheeses—you might just end up taking both because they’re that delicious! Their grilled cheeses are outstanding, especially the Cubano, which is a must-try. If you’re in the mood for dessert, their cheesecake is absolutely spectacular. The space is cozy and welcoming, offering a wonderful variety of cheeses you won’t find in the supermarket. While not large, the selection is well-balanced, with a perfect mix of quality and variety. I definitely recommend, can’t wait to come back, especially for this cheese in particular, that was creamy and had the perfect amount of tangy deliciousness!

Google
Chèvre is a tiny sandwich shop in Coral Gables that’s absolutely worth the parking hassle. Trust me, once you take that first bite, you’ll forget all about the struggle of finding a spot. This was my first visit, and I can already tell it won’t be my last. Their sandwiches are next-level—flavor-packed, perfectly layered, and made with top-notch ingredients. I tried La Italiana and The Spaniard, and honestly, I can’t pick a favorite. The Spaniard came on crispy Pan de Cristal with Jamon Iberico, Chorizo Cantimpalo, Manchego, orange marmalade, and olive oil—salty, sweet, and ridiculously good. La Italiana had Sheep’s Milk Ricotta, Italian Mortadella, basil pesto, pistachios, and a drizzle of truffled honey, all inside a Sullivan Street Mezzo Doppio. Every bite was a flavor bomb. There’s no seating, but if La Bibliothèque next door has space, you can enjoy your sandwich with wine. Oh, and don’t skip the cheesecake—it’s pricey at $19, but hands down one of the best I’ve had. They also have an amazing selection of cheeses, marmalades, and wines to take home. This place is a gem—100% recommended!

I loved the beauty and flavor of the mixed board I ordered for an special location. The service was great and the delivery just in time.

Google
Been DYING to try this spot and it did not disappoint. Did the Spanish sandwiches and it has marmalade on it and it was such sweet tang in perfectly cooked bread.

Google
Is a great spot, a hidden gem, delicious options, great food, the only thing missing is coffee, and don’t forget the Basque Cheesecake OMG

Google
This is one of the best hidden gems in Miami. The wine tastings put on by Nevin are fantastic, with incredible wines you're unlikely to see at most area restaurants, and served at reasonable prices in a laid-back atmosphere. The cheese shop itself has a nice selection of speciality items, and the sandwiches, my god, THE SANDWICHES. I'm partial to The Spaniard, with the orange marmalade nicely complementing the jamon, chorizo, and manchego, without being overpoweringly sweet. Second favorite would be El Padron, with its Paleta Iberico, Manchego Dehesa de los Llanos cheese and Spanish olive oil served on Pan de Cristal—a simple creation that isn't overwhelmed by tons of ingredients, yet which is incredibly flavorful. Last but certainly not least, the burnt Basque cheesecake is simply phenomenal.

Google
Smallest $20 sandwiches you’ve ever had. $60+ for two on sandwiches and dessert to be hungry later…this is just bad value. Wanted to like the place and get that it is local but this is far from a 5 star place. Very good cheesecake.

Ungria Vargas

Google
I was pleasantly surprised! I had a Kikos sandwich, and it’s basically a Cuban-style sandwich but French—one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The quality of the ingredients is impeccable. We also ordered a classic Basque cheesecake—one of the best I’ve tried. The cheese selection is unique. The market with imported products is spectacular—I just wish it were bigger with more things! It’s a small place, but they took us to a very cozy room where you can order wine and eat. It’s not a restaurant; it feels more like being in a beautiful home, having drinks and enjoying divine sandwiches. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Excellent food - yes it's pricey but it's quality. You're receiving quality and that is rare here in Miami. Really great pantry items. Loving the new wine classes!! Really fun and informative. Bought lots of great wine.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my visit here! I believe Paul is one of the brothers I met on the front end here. He kindly explained what they are doing here. The sandwiches explained with care and samples of cheeses and the god tier basque cheesecakes they create! The lovely baker popped out front to talk with me about Taylor swift and I got to hear about her passion for baking. I felt like these people love what they do here. We ordered and I personally got the Spaniard I believe it's called and wow phenomenal! We had a chance to dine in the speakeasy wine bar section and pick the mind of the sommelier brother forgive me I can't remember his name. He spoke on the classes they are having and why he likes comparing different wine regions. Such a wonderful learning moment and delicious wine as well. I'm not local, but definitely plan on a return for the cheesecakes, food, and lovely establishment that is Chèvre.

Yelp
Located in sort of a really upscale food court, of sorts. But OMG this place was AMAZING !!! You place your order and they give you a buzzer. Takes about 15 minutes or so. We had 1 El Padron and 1 Spaniard sandwich. Maybe the best sandwiches Ive had in my entire life and I mean that sincerely. Absolute best hams, cheeses, jams, bread, everything the perfect amount, not overloaded with anything, the bread was perfect thickness, complete perfection. Combo comes with chips and a drink. Chips are also really good quality , and drinks are Panna, Peligrino, etc. The cheesecake also is absolutely not to be missed. We had the chocolate. Just phenomenal. Rich yet somehow not heavy, creamy, chocolate not overwhelming. Absolutely stellar meal. You're going to pay for it. It's going to cost you as much as a sit down restaurant meal, about $33 each for the combo meal, and the cheesecake was $21, which is definitely not cheap. But worth every penny. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Loved, loved, loved it.

Yelp
This is a cozy tiny place mostly for grab and go. I absolutely loved " La italiana" sandwich and their basque style cheesecake, amazing! They have a vast selection of gourmet cheeses to buy, as well as other European goodies and wines. If you visit, you must try La italiana.

Yelp
Delicious sandwich with quality ingredients. The prices are high but this is gourmet so this is expected. The service is good as well. Friendly staff. The place is small so not of seating area.

Yelp
Went on a whim after seeing a social media post on Chèvre. Located in a corner spot where a barber shop sign is more prominent than this great cheese spot, Chèvre's main door is small, intimate and only seats two. Their main room seats many more, but it was not open to the public due to a wine tasting. We were greeted by Paul, one of the managers. He was full of information and describe each sandwich to a tee. Which led us to having the Spaniard and the Italiano. Both scrumptiously delicious. Their basque cheesecake was out of this world and highly recommended. Although items seemed overpriced, they are made with quality ingredients and are well worth the expense. Will not only be returning to try their wines, but also to try their other sandwiches. A hidden gem in the Shenandoah neighborhood!

Yelp
Been following on instagram for a while and I finally made it, and it was exactly how I imagined, PERFECTION!!! I can't wait to go back and try the other items on the menu! I had Never seen the truffle chips they have either ,just amazing! Don't leave without a cheesecake , I took mine home and it was so delicious Service was excellent as well

Yelp
Yes, the sandwiches are expensive & small ($18!) & yes, same goes for the Baby Burnt Baque Cheesecake ($17!) but if you ever want to treat yourself to one of the best elevated bagged lunches you'll EVER have, stop in at Chèvre. Had been wanting to try THE HIMMY (Slow roasted Turkey breast with Florida strawberry-rose marmelade, award winning Brie Donge, and arugula on baguette) for ever but it's only available on weekends but finally today was my day & let me tell you... it did NOT disappoint. Every, single component of this sandwich was of the finest quality & the combination was spectacular!!! Each time I took a bite, I literally closed my eyes, savored as I chewed, looked back at the sandwich & said to myself, "That's a DAMN good sandwich!", then went back in on it. And the teeny, tiny cheesecake? Honestly, THANK GOD it was mini because I would have absolutely eaten it ALL... in one sitting... by myself. They also have delicious Torres potato chips from Spain & refreshing Sanpellegrino sodas to complete this most excellent of meals. Who knew a turkey sandwich and chips could have such a profound impact? Unfortunately most all their other sandwiches are made with pork but they do have a (very) non-pork/non-red meat options, but even if I have to just eat THE HIMMY forever, I'm ok with that.

Yelp
1 star! Was exited to try this place but to my surprise they close at 7pm, but they stop making sandwiches at 6pm. So me showing up at 6:15pm left me SOL without a sandwich. Please update your website!

Luis P.

Yelp
Wonderful spot. I cannot overemphasize the amazing quality of this place. Grab an amazing sandwich, a glass of wine and be transported to a mental vineyard in France!
google avatar

Dailin R.

Yelp
Let's start by saying this spot has been at the top of my list for places I need to go to for at least a year. It's a bit of a drive for me so I hadn't had the chance to make some time to stop by, but boy was that 35 minute drive worth it. The shop is cozy, very small, but everything inside it looked absolutely delicious. I decided to have the Spaniard and my girlfriend had Kiko's Cubano. The Spaniard's sweet and savory mixture really drew me in, I especially liked that from the first bite my mouth was exploding with flavor. I got to try a bite of the Cubano and, as a Cuban, it was a great (and elevated) take on a Cuban medianoche. But the star of the show was truly the mini chocolate Basque cheesecake. My only regret was not buying the full sized one.... It's become my newest guilty pleasure. I can't wait to go back and try different sandwiches. If you go, definitely sit at La Biblioteque, the vibe and atmosphere is inviting and feels like you're in a member's only wine bar.
google avatar

Joy B.

Yelp
We ordered sammies from Chevre to be delivered, again! If you're looking for a high quality, delicious mouthful, this is your go to! We love their Himmel sandwich and this time added the Croque Monsieur. OMG it did not disappoint! It was sooo full of flavor and multiple cheeses! The sandwich was perfect. You can definitely split their sandwiches, because they ate very rich and filling. They're not overbearing or over stuffed, they're the perfect size, but just rich!
google avatar

Kylie R.

Yelp
The best sandwiches ever, best cheesecake ever & best cheeses ever!!!! This is one of my favorite spots in Miami!
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
I love going to small shops/boutique/gourmet/hole in the wall places. Many times, these are gems. We learned about Chèvre and decided to make the short trip to give it a try (we enjoy trying new foods). The cheese shop was smaller than what I thought . Once you walk in you see the shelves and fridge area filled with a variety of olive oils, truffle sauces, canned products, aged rib eye and much more. You have a wine area with a small selection but I'm sure to find something for a special occasion. We arrived around 10:45am, and ordered a sandwich. The gentlemen at the counter advised that sandwiches are not made until 11am. However, he said since it was close to 11, he was not going to make us wait. I truly appreciated it. THANK YOU! (Didn't get his name to recognize appropriately) We ordered The Spaniard. Absolutely delicious and embodied with unique flavors and aroma. Loved the concept of adding the marmalade. It compliments the saltiness in/ of the cheese and meats that it had. The only downfall I'd say is perhaps the price to ratio of quantity of food =| Since we were on the go, we didn't stick around to really look at the variety of cheeses. But looking forward to coming back and trying other sandwiches.

Yelp
Great cheese shop with awesome sandwiches, Basque cheesecake, and an equally spectacular "speakeasy" back room bar area with various wines and beer. Television for sporting events. Hidden gem in Coral Way. Passed by it many times and finally decided to check it out--glad I did.

Barbara D.

Yelp
Fine but nothing special and DEFINITELY not worth $25! We also got a small side of little sausage nuggets that also cost $25. I generally have no issue paying-up for exceptional food but this wasn't close to being worth the price.
google avatar

Tiara M.

Yelp
Soo good ! I saw them on Instagram and had to come for the sandwich special. It was called the Daniel named after Daniel Boulud and had smoked salmon. I was worried that they had sold out but they offered to make it without the one ingredient they ran out of (cucumber) so I was really thankful!! My friend got the chèvre sandwich named after the store itself, I tried some of his and it was incredible especially the cheese. It also had artichokes and sun dried tomatoes which complemented the sandwich great. The setup was really cute, I loved looking around at the different products they had in the store and would love to try their cheese next time! The basque cheesecake also looked amazing. The store was small, there are stools and a table but I recommend going elsewhere to eat, we went to the Vizcaya area.

Michael C.

Yelp
I received a basket from here from a friend. Everything in there was incredible. They have the best cheeses and jams. The sandwiches are delicious and fresh! There is nothing like this place in Florida. I highly recommend getting one of everything.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Ugh, disappointing and I hate leaving poor reviews. I paid $30 for a sandwich, drink, and chips. The sandwich arrived at my door poorly packaged and wrapped and with a mysterious hair. Blegh. Nothing grosses me out more. Moreover, the sandwich was meagerly stuffed and most of the manchego had mold. Yes, I know, I know - cheese can have mold and you can eat it. But after everything, I was just even more disappointed. How this was worth $30, I really wonder.
google avatar

Anton E.

Yelp
The sandwiches are good, but if I'm spending that much, it has to be the best sandwich of my life. And quite simply, it isn't. But the service is fine and the shop is cute (if small).
google avatar

Ed W.

Yelp
So.... came here after waiting literally more than a year for them to open in Miami and this is cheese galore. Despite being a small shop it does have lots of cheese types and other goodies that are part of a nice cheese board. Mario Naar who owns/runs the store is super friendly and knowledgeable. Just tell him what you like and he will suggest a few things and give you small samples to try before yoy buy. Parking is a not easy but they do have street parking like a block away. (14th Definitely worth coming here for selected cheese options and great quality. Always good products.
google avatar

Jaquelyn M.

Yelp
Yummmm. The original cheesecake is dangerously delicious. New obsession if I will. I got the HIMMY and it was great. Love their potato chips too. I called in to ask about which sandwich I should order and the person on the line was wonderful & guided me in the right direction. Can't wait to try another sandwich & more cheesecake (:
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Possibly best sandwiches in Miami - small in size but large in flavor and quality. Too many oversized sandwiches out there
google avatar

Puja B.

Yelp
Looked up cheese shops and realized this little gem was 15 min from me. Drove in and parked at the laundromat, and went in. The person managing the counter had really good knowledge of the cheeses. The selections were unique and interesting and I was excited to taste all the unique cheeses. I bought 5 cheeses, jam, fig salami, bread and champagne- and this will be an epic date night. Definitely coming back here again!
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally went and I'm mad at myself for not going sooner! Paul was super friendly and helpful and I plan on adding this to the hit list of places to go monthly! Tiny little shop with a tasting room in the back. Cheesecake is take your pants off good and the cubano is FANTASTIC. Do yourself a favor and just go and try everything! Can't wait to come back and take a class/tasting. Great addition to Miami.
google avatar

Yesy C.

Yelp
I did the Spanish wine tasting at La Bibliotheque by Chèvre and it was such a great experience. You pay by the pour but they are so reasonably priced. And the curated selection of wines are divine. We also had the cheese board which paired perfectly with the wines. Going back to buy more wine and more cheese!
google avatar

Lola F.

Yelp
My friend went in to pick up some sandwiches. They had a special where you get 2 sandwiches and chips for $40ish which is a little on the pricey side but it was totally worth it. They didn't have the ones we wanted... it's first come first serve so try to go there earlier but we did try their two new menu items...and they were awesome the cheese is delicious. The guy working there was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

AO C.

Yelp
the most amazing sandwiches i have ever had. Cheesecake is out of this world. If u r lucky and get seated in the wine room, great selection of wines. Service is fast and great.

Daniel M.

Yelp
second to none the best wine tastings in Miami. Nevin knows his stuff like none other, the setting and selection never disappoints

Ashley S.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. The food, service, and quality are outstanding. Definitely a Miami favorite!!

Susana M.

Yelp
By far the best cheesecake I've ever had. The texture was creamy in the center, firm at the edges. Somehow light without the heavy density usually found in other cheesecakes. Also very low in sugar. A bit pricey but worth it, is now my go to for special occasions.
google avatar

Jorge P.

Yelp
Good food good products love their cheesecake Great hours of operation lots of different cheeses
google avatar

Jon O.

Yelp
I ordered the basque cheesecake today for the first time since I heard it was good . Well, I can tell you that we all loved in the office . I really recommend it !!! Good job and keep the good work

Tatiana G.

Yelp
best sandwich i've had in my life, and the cheesecake is fabulous too. however, the warm and kind staff put this restaurant over the top!

Yelp
Miami's newest cheese shop that bills itself as the nearest cheese shop to Coral Gables is a hole in the wall gem. We ordered a Charcuterie board for Easter brunch at our home. You have to go to the store and pick it up. The presentation when handed the board was lackluster and severely disappointing. So much so that I went back in to make sure I was not given the wrong order as the board for 20 was pithy and priced at over 240. I was assured I wasn't. We arrived home and immediately rearranged it on our own cheese boards to increase the presentation. We then noticed that although the board is for 20 (medium) it has only 2 bamboo tongs and knives. That being said the cheese and meats were spectacular and top notch. It was really good hence the 4 stars. That being said initial impressions are key and mine were not met.

Alina P.

Yelp
My son and daughter in law gave me a wine tasting experience for my birthday. It was amazing. Nevin, the sommelier, explained every detail of the wines we were tasting. The charcuterie board was great. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Yelp

Tatiana P.

Yelp
Great sandwich place Expensive but won't disappoint. Sandwich was so good, a bit small but I left not feeling too full, looking back it was a good size just expensive but exceptional quality
google avatar

Alexandra R.

Yelp
I love this cute little shop. Owner and person working the counter were extremely nice and attentive. The cheesecake slice I bought was really good. I will be back as I love small shops such as these.

Ericka C.

Yelp
It's expensive but it has one of the best cheesecake in my opinion. Definitely worth going.
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
I went to buy a cheesecake, but they didnt take any cash, so I was hesitant on even shopping here. I ended up just buying a slice of the regular cheesecake and it was pretty good, but not really worth the 12 dollars they charge for a slice. 1 star for not accepting cash

Dawn R.

Yelp
Amazing selection and great service Love the new sandwiches! Look forward to other new launches

Geno W.

Yelp
I came in for a lock of Stilton and was not disappointed. It was really good, creamier than most others I've had. The sandwich was excellent as well. Thanks!

Dakota C.

Yelp
I booked a wine tasting here and when I booked it Resy said I could be charged a no show fee but didn't mention a cancellation deadline. I had to cancel the tasting and got a separate email saying that I was charged a $100 fee for cancelling. I called multiple times to get this reversed or even to just get a store credit and was told there is nothing they could do because it is a huge company and the "boss" told them not to be nice about giving refunds or credits. Horrible customer service.

Zobeida R.

Yelp
The place is VERY pricey, like, really expensive, but the sandwiches are quite possibly the best I've had.
