Chez Alain Miam Miam....what is there not to like. This place is always busy. Why? Because the sandwiches are absolutely the best in Paris! Alain has made sure that his staff keep to his happy, honest food, and funny outlook. I have never ever had a bad experience in over 6 years of eating there. Everything is yummy, and there is a nice park nearby to enjoy your meal. I very very highly recommend this place as this is a hidden gem in Paris. Thank you Alain for such a great dining experience always!

Google
I don’t think it was worth the hype at all, €15 euros for a standard sandwich. The lettuce was soggy from being toasted. There was not much meat. They did load it up with all the other ingredients which was great, and the place was very cute and homey, the staff were so pleasant and kind. But as a culinary experience , I wouldn’t recommend. I had really high expectations, especially coming from Alfi’s yesterday which was Amazing!!! So I question the taste of anybody who would recommend this.

Google
A must try if you enjoy sandwich and cheese 🤩 Portion is big, I split one with my mom. My only recommendation is to come early to try the yumminess without waiting in line! We got there around 9:45am on a Wednesday and was first in line to be served. Met and talked with the owner - very pleasant and funny guy! Thank you for the great experience, keep up the good work!

Google
Cute sandwich shop, there are three stations and ordering is smooth. I got the spicy chicken and my partner got a ham sandwich. They guided us on what cheese to use. The bread was absolutely fantastic. We only ate a half of sandwich each and could’ve split one if we had realized they were so big. Definitely would recommend eating here in Paris.

Google
this is easily the worst sandwich you can ever find- unless you are recovering from covid and have lost your taste. it was a greasy sandwich without even the basic salt seasoning. ingredients subpar it was so bad we got three sandwiches for 40euros and threw away all of them. Stood in the line for about an hour because of social media hyping this place up, sadly what a scam :( even the sandwich from any random Paris grocery store tastes better. wasted our time money and appetite. Almost everyone in the line was a tourist

Google
Worth the wait! Can customize your sandwich with your meat selection, veggie, cheese and toast/not toasted. Line moves quick so make sure you make your mind up quickly! They charge extra to eat inside too. Such a unique sandwich - can’t wait to come back 😍

Google
One of the best sandwiches we had in Paris! I really appreciated the addition of fresh vegetables and the fact that it was toasted — it gave it a panini-like quality that set it apart. We went early in the morning and avoided any lines or crowds, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth it!

Google
Yes waited in line. You live in a city and it’s a well known small sandwich shop. I really enjoyed mine. Crispy bread, fresh ingredients, delicious flavor. Staff were nice and I could order in English. Met the owner who was a ball of joy greeting guests and soaking in the love and support. Would come back!

Yelp
We asked the chef to make us his favorite sandwich and he made us a pastrami. So good! The bread was so soft and the pastrami was high quality. Tiny shop that does has some inside seating available but most people were tucked away in a corner in the cute alley eating theirs. The sandwiches are big so be hungry!

Yelp
If you're on Instagram (and probably other forms of social media), you'll come across at least a dozen or two videos hyping up the sandwiches at Chez Alain Miam Miam. I was nervous to go as I was expecting to have to wait in a long line, but it was quite quick when I went in. You order in the line either to eat there or takeout; I selected takeout so they asked that I wait outside after ordering (since the shop is fairly small) and someone brought my sandwich out to me. I went with the prosciutto and cheese with the standard toppings. It was a hefty sandwich and a bit messy, so I'd recommend eating it there immediately. I had taken my sandwich to-go and walked to a nearby park to eat it. By the time I had gotten there, it did get soggy. The sandwich had a unique flavor profile, I probably would get it without the roasted onions, to be able to better taste the other flavors. And maybe also, try the sandwich cold instead of grilled. There are a lot of boulangeries that you'll come across in Paris, but as mentioned, there's a lot of following around this sandwich shop, so give them a try and see what you think!

Yelp
I had been thinking about this sandwich from the last time I was in Paris in 2012. It's different than it was before, but it's still a delicious and filing sandwich, but maybe a bit more hyped. When I went in 2012, there was only the shop inside the market with Alain himself making the sandwiches. First, no matter when you go, be prepared to wait. There are tables and chairs inside, but they fill up quickly. We lucked out and were able to get a seat while in line once inside the store. If there aren't seats inside the shop, there are plenty of seats in the Marché Covert. Second, the ordering system is strange, at least for me. There are several chefs making the sandwiches and when one is done, they'll take your order in line. I didn't see this but they have a list of all of the meats and toppings on the large menu inside so you can specify what you want. My mom and I messed up the order at first because we failed to specify we wanted two different sandwiches, one meat and one chicken. So we had to go back to our sandwich maker and re-order before we paid. Now for the sandwich itself. It's fresh, tons of veggies, and the meat quality is excellent. I had half of a thin cut beef sandwich and a bit of a chicken sandwich. It has avocado, lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, and your choice of cheese on it, along with some other seasonings and herbs. the bread is delicious and fresh! It is messy, so sitting is recommended. Comparing this sandwich to the 2012, I gotta say, 2012 wins. It wasn't a panini but it had the same veggies and cheese options, but it also had oil and vinegar on it so it was just a tad more flavorful. I don't think I would personally go back a 3rd time if I go back to Paris but I do think it's worth checking out if you've never been, like sandwiches, and don't mind lines.

Yelp
I kept seeing this place all over TikTok, so I had to try it while I was in the area. Overall, I think the sandwiches are good! We shared one between the two of us, and it made for a great snack. That said, be prepared to wait. The shop is very small, so after ordering inside, we had to wait outside while they made our sandwich. I did appreciate that they let us sample the cheese to help us choose, which was a nice touch! However, there was some miscommunication with the person making our sandwich. When we got it, we realized it wasn't exactly what we had ordered--there were extra toppings in there, like tomatoes, that we didn't ask for. While the sandwich was still really good, it was a bit annoying that we were so specific about what we wanted, only to get something different. Overall, it's a great sandwich, and I think it's worth trying if you're in the area and have the time to wait. Just double-check your order to make sure it's exactly what you want!

Yelp
Chez Alain Miam Miam is a true Parisian gem. If you're looking for the perfect blend of street food charm and gourmet flavors, this is the place to go. The star here is their famous sandwiches, made with an almost theatrical flair right in front of you. The bread is thick, golden, and grilled to perfection, while the fillings are fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. It was a melty, savory, and with just the right touch of creaminess. The wait can be long, but it's part of the experience.

Yelp
I saw Chez Alain Miam Miam on social media inside Marche des Enfants Rouges. This is a 400+ old market! When I arrived, there was a sign to visit their other location a few minutes away. I walked over and the place was busy already and it was shortly after opening. Knowing the lines can get crazy long, I decided to come earlier, before the lunch rush, to avoid it. It didn't take long before I was able to order. While waiting, I saw his staff bringing in crates of fresh veggies for his sandwiches. With many people considering Chez Alain Miam Miam the best sandwich in Paris, one would assume he uses fresh vegetables daily. The restaurant itself is a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant but it has character. You can dine in but most people I saw got their order to go. Customer service by the owner and his staff is extremely friendly. I ordered the Miam Miam with Prosciutto, all the vegetables and for it to be toasted. The owner gives you a taste of two cheeses to choose which one you want for your sandwich. That's very generous and helps you choose the one you like best. From what I saw, he personally made the drinks or pours it then brings it to you. The kitchen in the back makes the sandwich. It does take time but it's worth it! The sandwich is amazing and worth the hype. I'm not sure about the long wait but it's a really good sandwich. Just in case you were curious about what's inside the Miam Miam, it came with prosciutto, lettuce, tomato, avocado, mushroom and cheese all toasted between fresh bread. The meat option will be entirely up to you. If you toast it and take it to go, it's highly recommended to consume within 30 minutes to help keep the integrity of the sandwich. This restaurant is worthy of a visit. Just avoid the lines and come during off peak hours. Legit!

Yelp
I'm sure you've seen the TikTok that made this sandwich place viral! Look, the sandwiches are solid but in my opinion it's over hyped. The bread is great, your options for pastrami, chicken, or fish in the sandwich are somewhat unique, but after that, it's just a sandwich. There will be a massive line to try this place, and almost everyone will reference the TikTok video. If you're in Paris for a short period of time, this isn't a MUST. It's a nice to have! Fair warning.

Yelp
One of the best sandwich places I have been to! This place is FANTASTIC! I was in Paris with a friend and this spot was recommended to us and it was just amazing. The staff is super friendly and they have so many good things to try so please come check it out and show them some love!

Yelp
Maybe we didn't choose wisely. I'm not saying it was bad--far from it--but it left us wanting more. A lingering sense that we missed the mark somewhere on the menu. Unfortunately, we only gave it one shot, so who knows? Maybe next time, with a better choice and a clearer head, the experience will hit differently. Food deserves second chances, after all.

Yelp
Definitely a tourist spot so you will see lines at both locations which are walking distance from one another. I enjoyed the sandwich but it's different from most sandwiches in Paris. It's like Paris meets America. It's something you expect to get in the USA because it's filled with lots of different toppings and sauces. I loved how most sandwiches in Paris are simple yet delicious. Happy I tried it once to see what the hype is but won't try again. Employees were friendly and everyone speaks English.

Yelp
This sandwich made me cry. The hype is real! Ordered the prosciutto with comté and all the veg and everything was perfect. They use chives and olive oil in all their sandwiches. My wife got the vegetarian with comté-- equally delicious! The other option was cantal cheese, and they let you try both before choosing. €6 for a glass of their natural wines. We went close to closing, so the line wasn't as crazy as I've seen on socials, but they ran out of spicy chicken which is what they're famous for. Even got to meet Chef Alain. 5/5 one of the best sandwiches in Paris and my life!!!
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
Delicious sandwich which is big enough for two to eat, but the line is very long, even on a week day. Tip: one line is for ordering, another is for paying. The line often gets intermingled due to the limited space of the market.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
I'm not usually a sandwich fan - so when I am recommended a sandwich dish, I'm a bit doubtful. But this was an excellent sandwich and made me reconsider my anti-sandwich stance. I ordered the miam miam with prosciutto. The prosciutto was excellent quality and the other veggies perfectly complemented the meat. The bread was also incredible - really crunchy and tasty by itself and added in the oils/juices from the veggies and it created an incredibly delicious bread. The clerk was also very nice and helpful - he provided useful recommendations and was very friendly. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Incredible sandwich. The veggies, cheese, and pastrami were all basically perfect. So happy we made this stop.

Yelp
This is by far the best sandwich I have ever had my whole life! If you see a long line don't fret, it is worth it. They let you try the different types of cheeses that go on the sandwiches. They will even toast it for you if you would like. The staff is courteous and kind. You really feel like something special is going. The restaurant was clean and ready to handle a long line.
google avatar

Gab G.

Yelp
Grabbed sandwiches for the plane here. Went with the prosciutto with lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, cheese, and another of the same but with white ham instead of prosciutto. The sandwiches were good and staff was very friendly.

Yelp
Excellent!!! Best Sandwich I have Ever Had!!! The flavors all complimented each other . Chez Alain has set the Bar. If you take your sandwich to the local park or Seine River, you will have the most perfect Parisian lunch. All your senses with be so happy.

Yelp
Best sandwich I've ever had!! Very crispy and generous serving size. Definitely should stop by if your in paris

Yelp
Chez Alain Miam Miam was one of the restaurants we saw on a YouTube video about unique places to get food in Paris. What stood out for us were the galette wraps shaped like bouquets. Interestingly the video we saw showed a man cooking the galettes in what looked like an open market/food court. We found the food court but not the stand, but we did find that the restaurant now has a storefront across the street from the food court. My fiancé ordered the fraicheur, which was the bouquet-shaped galette that we saw on the video. I didn't try it since I don't eat pork, but he said it was fantastic and everything he had hoped for. He said it tasted very fresh and light, and the basil made the whole thing so aromatic. I got the vegetarian, and it was more of a traditional style of galette. It was filled either cheese, onions, and tomatoes. Best way I could describe it was that it reminded me of French onion soup but in a galette form. Unlike the Fraicheur, this was on the heavier side. I felt pretty full after eating 75% of it.

Yelp
Pure madness for a tasty meal. Chez Alain isn't so much a restaurant as it is 20 feet of folks doing their best to feed a ravenous crowd. I visited yesterday in the afternoon thinking this was just what my wife, baby, and I needed. The line was let's say a bit of a mess. It began to be ye side, went by the cashier, down to the other end, and then you had to return to the middle to pay. Not a great system but from the looks of it necessary due to the constraints of being next to less popular places. Ordering a sandwich was easy. You choose your veggies, your cheese, your meat, and whether you want it toasted or cold. Two sandwiches and a bottle of water set us back a little over 20 euros. The total wait was somewhere around 45-60 minutes. I probably wouldn't have waited had I known quite how long it was but with limited French I didn't ask. The staff was nice and they did speak English. Even so I tried to speak French and they did their best to understand me. Perhaps on weekdays the experience is easier but this isn't a spot for a family or quick bite to eat. The sandwich itself was very delicious and more than filled me up. Lots of veggies like grilled onions, avocado, and tomato. My baby was a big fan of the tomatoes!
google avatar

Yelp
Worth the wait! This was one of the only places that we had to stay in line to grab a bite on our recent trip. It's located in one of the oldest markets, Marché des Enfants Rouges. At first I was confused since I didn't see the market but little walk past the store, you'll see an entrance to other market eateries and I believe there were other entrances but probably missed it. Once it was our turn, the staff was friendly to go over any questions and even gave us samples of the two cheese options. I think I chose the first one and it was just amazing. The sandwiches are hearty and while we got it toasted, we think we would have liked it better not toasted. Nevertheless, the sandwhich was amazing and don't forget to add prosciutto since you have to add the meat. Same deal for the crepes. The galette was refreshing but just too hard to eat and soggy with too much vegetable and worst of all I had forgotten to add meat to it. Overall, it was indeed one of the best sandwiches in Paris. Also, they had 3 rows of tables for seating and a restroom so you can sit in to eat.

Yelp
Interesting sandwich shop that makes a great sandwich. The ordering system is a little confusing. Essentially stand in a line (that was a bit loose) and when you get to the counter you tell one of the guys what you want. They write it down on a piece of paper. You then go tell the cashier what you bought and he rings it up. He gives you your receipt and when your sandwich is ready, they call your name from the paper and you get your sandwich. This is a true, take away place as there was no where to sit and eat. We went down to the park about a block away where there were plenty of benches and a pleasant band playing. There were three different kinds of ham and a number of vegetable toppings of the usual variety. We got the grilled onions, avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, and white ham. The big sandwich was more than enough for both of us as we only ate half of it. Next time we would order the small, which would definitely fill the two of us. They drizzle a little olive oil on the bread, which is very soft and then put enough cheese and fillings to make a very large sandwich. The white ham was, of course, up to Paris standards. The restaurant is inside the rouge enfant Marché which is full of different kinds of restaurants so if someone doesn't want to try this place, they have plenty of other options.

Yelp
We came because of all the good ratings and hype. My sister wanted to go to the outdoor location rather than the indoor location. Immediately, I'm getting a bad vibe with dirt and dust that's everywhere outside. Then the lack of organization and poor communication further made me feel uneasy with my order. I speak English. So, That may have been part of it. But the whole process was very confusing. I told them what I wanted and then they asked me and then they still seem confused when I responded. Then I go to the owner who asked me what meat. So I must tell them again. Then he leaves our sandwiches on the Panini press for about 15 minutes., before someone realized that it's time to take it off. Then again they're confused with whose sandwiches and then when we tell them what we got, they seem confused and argue with us and tell us which one is ours. Then they ask us if we want to cut in half and I said yes and then they look at each other and said no I think that they don't want it cut in half. Then they just put it in the bag. Nowhere to eat. Had to eat on the bench with bird poop. Dog comes over and tries to eat my sandwich. I took a bite into my sandwich and all I tasted was char. Barely any unburnt bread left. The contents of the sandwich while I was eating, it all sunk down to the bottom and just became a soggy mess because they didn't cut it in half. So I ended up just throwing it away because it was impossible to eat. Also, I thought I'd mention that it's a very unsanitary kitchen. The owner does not wear gloves and touches the money touches peoples hands touches everything, and then touches peoples food after their heated. He kept telling us to make sure we follow him on line but seemed to careless about our actual order and food preparation! I would never come back to this establishment ever again!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches with incredibly high quality contents. The "white ham" was amazing and the lettuce seemed as if it had been growing hours before. Our family's French proficiency is perhaps the level of a French toddler, and the gents behind the counter were very kind and spoke to us in English. The toasted sandwiches were more pleasing than those that were not. But all were excellent. The bread that looks like a crepe was interesting, but I'd stick to regular bread next time. Unclear what other reviewers were noting, as there are a couple tables for eating at the establishment.

Yelp
Baby Frère and I were hungry after visiting les catacombes so we beat the block near the crib in Le Marais. Just steps away from the long line at Caractere de Cochon was this haven. We were greeted by a kind-eyed, only-in-fucking-Paris-handsome fellow who, along with his colleagues, was patient with all of our Americanness: my struggle-bus French, Frère's blind hunger rendering him incapable of any language, both of our menu confusion... He got us on track. My ham/cheese crepe was big and delectable enough to serve as a quick lunch and a post-Usher midnight snack for the whole family. Frère shared his dried beef+the works sandwich with Soeur and I, too. I needn't explain bread quality to anybody searching for food en France. But understand that a hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop (that also has seating and beer that we didn't have time to enjoy) in Paris is a different story. The meat hits different. The cheese is like cheese that you ask about at a friend's dinner party. Wine-cooked veggies and garden-fresh garnish. Like a charcuterie(+) platter cartwheeled onto your bread, curled itself up inside, and begged you to come get it. That's what they're working with over there.

Yelp
First time at store during pandemic and not at market location. Takes credit cards now which is convenient. Out of pastrami today so I got Spanish smoked meat. Delicious as always with the onions and avocado. Always worth the trip.

Yelp
Great sandwich stand a must when visiting Paris. We visited after seeing a social media post on it and it did not disappoint

Hany A.

Yelp
Great sandwiches, quality, price and portion. The owner is a great person to chat with as well. Make this experience a part of your visit to paris and you won't regret it.

Yelp
AMAZING! I got the prosciutto and my bf got the pastrami sandwich. They spoke English, which was so helpful. Felt like a local spot so we knew the food was going to be good!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing sandwich completely loaded and toasted to perfection! Our favorite was the cooked ham (the raw ham wasn't the best) with everything included (grilled mushrooms, onions, avocado, cheese, lettuce). It was scrumptious and so filling that we weren't hungry again until dinner time also coffee, wine, crepes were very reasonably priced compared to nearby places so if you want any of those things, order them along with your sandwiches because it all looked and smelled great!

Yelp
We are so lucky we went close to closing! There was little to no one in the shop so we received all of the attention - even got to sample some cheese, and get a detailed introduction to how the place came about! The chef was there as well - what a fun, personal experience! The food took a bit of time, though we were the only customers. The chalkboard menu kept us busy! The food itself was made from fresh ingredients, and the portion was so filling, each of just just ended up having half of the sandwich! The cheese was absolutely ooey and gooey, and there was so much of it ... They seemed to know the way to my heart! I really loved the whole experience - from walking through the door, to the last bite. We literally ate all the crumbs off the plate! Would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Paris. LOVED it.

JT R.

Yelp
We Stumbled upon this place on our last trip a few months ago and just visited when we were in town again. The staff is wonderful and the food is fabulous!!!! More like a covered outdoor market-type feel but the best sandwiches and crepes EVER!!! We will definitely be back when in town again-and super friendly accommodating staff. We recommend this wonderful place and will come back when we are in Paris again. Enjoy.

Yelp
One of the best sandwich shops anywhere. Friendly service and flavorful food. I always go here once or twice every year we visit Paris. I wish they are in LA....

Yelp
Best sandwich in Paris. I found this spot through yelp and was so happy I did. My husband loves sandwiches. They let you try the cheese. There's 2 choices. Menu is in French but I think they also have one in English. It's like subway, choose your meat, choose your veggies. Definitely get it toasted. It's obvious they put love into each sandwich. Ah man I want to go back just for another bite. 6,000 miles away makes it hard.
google avatar

Darylynn D.

Yelp
It's a one man show here so you will be waiting a while. The menu consists of sandwiches, soup, and wraps. The ingredients are fresh. Reminds me of Subway in a way because he makes it in front of you, but you are not jipped on the meat or cheese or any of the goodies in a sandwich. I ordered a beef sandwich which is seriously good for two people. One person cannot finish the entire sandwich in one sitting. The sandwich was good, but not the best I have had. The place is located inside the market and there is no seating so keep that in mind.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow. This was literally our last meal on a 2-week trip to France (we left for the airport right after eating here), and I'm so glad we ended our trip on this amazing note. It was a rainy Tuesday morning in October. We went first to the Miam Miam counter at Marché des Enfants, but the whole market was closed (Google's hours were wrong). They sent us to their new brick & mortar location, where we were the only customers. The server spoke English and explained the entire menu to us (it was handwritten in French on a chalk board), and we also met Alain himself. Both were really friendly and genuine, and totally loved our 2-month old :). We got: * Espresso and latte (no cappuccinos) - 4.5 stars Delicious, fresh, foamy. * Fresh crepe - 5 stars Oh my god, this was the best crepe I've had in my life. It comes out like a bouquet, and you gotta eat it by hand. It tasted as amazing as it looked. The crepe had a perfect, light layer of crisp, and the ingredients were so fresh (love the prosciutto! And the tomatoes). * Ham, onion, cheese cooked crepe - 4.5 stars Also great, crisped just right, full of savory flavors and topped with fresh chives.

Yelp
Chez Alain Miam Miam was one of the places Margaret definitely wanted to try during our way-too-short stay in Paris. In fact, we first went to a street/farmers market that was its original location to discover they had moved to the Marché des Enfants Rouges. So, we hop into the metro and here we are, at this beautiful and very busy outdoor food market. There is a very long line for Chez Alain Miam Miam at the market, but we notice a sign that says they now have a shop around the corner, so we give it a try. The line at around 1pm on a Sunday was much shorter than at the shop at the market, and there are even tables with chairs available[1]! We ordered a Galette Fraicheur, which is basically a crêpe filled with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and prosciutto. First off this thing is HUGE! So big it's actually difficult to hold it with both hands to eat it; definitely big enough for two people. I loved the freshness of this galette on a hot summer day; everything is made on the spot, even the generous pieces of cheese are sliced fresh into your sandwich/galette. Only downside is that the crêpe started to get soggy pretty quickly and tended to fall apart. As I'm not a huge fan of sandwiches, I don't know whether I would wait in line 2h for one of those babies, as some of the reviews for their shop at the Marché seem to suggest, but it was certainly well worth the 10 minutes or so we had to wait for our order. I also loved that they sell beer. Gotta appreciate the opportunity to enjoy a cold beer with your sandwich during lunch; very civilized. ---------------- [1] No A/C, though, and it was VERY HOT inside.

Yelp
Excellent little sandwich place. The sandwiches are massive so I went halfsies with my friend. Sandwiches were amazing and had so much flavor. It's super tiny inside but everyone is friendly. There are stacks of napkins on each table bc you will definitely need several! It's too bad there isn't a place like this near home as I'd be a regular

Yelp
The comté cheeseeee, my mouth is watering just thinking of all that melted goodness over my sandwich. The ingredients are fresh, and absolutely delicious. The shop is definitely small, so be prepared to wait. The chefs take their time in making your sandwiches and definitely make sure they go over the different options with the sandwiches.

Yelp
Chez Alain Miam Miam, the only Miam Miam. My friend took me here and I had no idea what to expect but as soon as I saw everything I realized what all the fuss is about. Not only is this gentleman a sandwich artist, as Johnson C. calls out in his excellent review below, he is a showman. We waited an hour in line. Yes, really. An hour. And gladly. Alain clearly enjoys his work and it's a joy to watch him interact with everyone. He's super upbeat.. inquiring as to where everyone is from, offering tastes of each cheese so you can choose which you prefer, dancing to the music playing behind him, flipping the salt and pepper shakers around, and so on... It also takes several minutes to grill each sandwich to perfection. Hence the long wait. Everyone standing in line is pretty happy to be there, too, so that's a good time in and of itself. We popped next door to the cheese stand, bought a bottle of hard cider, opened that, sipped it while waiting and danced in line too... chatting with our neighbors in between.... No complaints at all. A fine way to spend an hour. Afterwards we took our lunch over to another vendor and bought a half bottle of rose. They were happy to open it for us and let us sit at their tables. It was after most stalls had closed, so I don't know if that's the norm, but they were fine with it at the time. I didn't think I could eat the whole sandwich but I wasn't about to waste it either. It was delicious. Toasty outside, soft inside, salty proscuitto, caramelized onions... a masterpiece. I didn't eat again until 11pm and it was something small at that, so it's probably better to share, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I might skip the lettuce next time as it gets a little too wilty for me but otherwise.. magnificent. I would happily wait in line for an hour all over again.

Yelp
I can't really say that this was the best sandwich of my life but it comes kind of close? Chez Alain Miam Miam is literally the most popular stand inside the Marche des Enfants Rouges open market. His stand is the only stand with the long line, wrapping around the corners. The rest of the stands may have some people but not as many as Chez Alain attracts. People come here specifically to eat Chez Alain's sandwiches. The wait is super long and that is because Chez Alain takes a little bit of his time to talk to each of his guests while preparing their sandwiches. Your sandwiches are also made to order ... you get to see him assemble everything right in front of you. Although, I would think that if people are all getting the same thing, he could increase his efficiency by preparing a few sandwiches at a time but hey, it isn't my show! Therefore, expect at least an hour wait. Every sandwich comes with fresh greens, caramelized onions, vinegar and olive oil, and of course ... your choice of meat: ham, prosciutto, or beef. Oh, you also get to choose between two cheeses. Chez Alain will shave a little bit of each for you to try so you can choose which one you want! His sandwiches are LARGE. My husband and I shared one and it was enough food for me. We got their prosciutto and honestly, I think the ham may have been the better choice. Prosciutto is hard to tear apart so I find myself eating all the prosciutto at once instead of eating it with the rest of the sandwich. I love the addition of the oil and vinegar because mixed in with the greens, it is absolutely refreshing! And you can definitely taste the freshness of it all! The caramelized onions give another depth into the sandwich, giving you a little bit of the sweetness element to it. The meat is meant to give a savory factor to the sandwich so ... his sandwich is a mixture of everything! He toasts his bread thoroughly. However, his toasting time for each sandwich is highly inconsistent. Just hope he doesn't forget about your sandwich cause well ... I'm not sure if he'll remake it. Ours wasn't forgotten but even then, it was too crispy for me .. kind of hurts my mouth when I bite into it haha. But beware ... you may not be used to the conditions of this stand. This stand would probably fail health regulations in the US. No hand washing after dealing with money. Crepes and pancakes out in the open .. sometimes with a sign on top of them. Chez Alain using his shirt like a napkin. Nothing really seems all that clean ... but hey, my husband and I survived :) Definitely give Chez Alain a visit.

Yelp
On word describes sandwich's at Chez Alain Miam Miam, INCREDIBLE! Was sorta hard to find as it was located in an open food court in an alley. Fresh ingredients and meticulously crafted sandwiches done up panini style. What a culinary delight, as the sandwich artisans work their magic putting first olive oil on the bread followed by lettuce if you so desire, grilled onions and mushrooms, avocado, followed by your choice of meat and lastly tons of your selected cheese ! Lastly, there is a beautiful park just down the street which I would suggest eating as there is no seating at the sandwich stand.

Yelp
I read about this place and was so happy I made it over later afternoon. I liked watching the guys make some sandwiches for other customers as I got to see some options. I went with the #1. It was a huge sandwich. The galette was interesting. A nice flavor and probably less filling than a baguette (though I do love a good baguette). The ham was tender and a nice smoky flavor. I loved the amount of the delicious Parmesan (freshly saved into the wrap). The lettuce, herbs, and crushed tomatoes added freshness. It was a very filling and tasty sandwich. Yum! The guys working were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
When: Sunday at 3pm Party Size: 2 Sandwich (1 prosciutto, 1 pastrami): 11/10 These are arguably the best sandwiches that I've ever had and now I see why people have been saying this....and I'm from NYC. The guy behind the food line was so friendly and spoke English. He walked us through the entire menu and helped us build out sandwiches step by step. These are loaded with ingredients like olive oil, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, FRESHLY GRATED CHEESE all on a fresh baguette. I got it hot and they griddled/pressed these. Came out so damn delicious and a flavor orgasm in my mouth. Price per sandwich was ~10 Euros. Overall: 10/10 I'd come back for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night (all in the same day).

Yelp
I really enjoyed the vegetarian sandwich. The small is huge. The line was long, but worth the wait.

Yelp
How does one rate Chez Alain? The man marches to his own drum, that's for sure, and I mean that in the best way. I showed up around 11 on a rainy Sunday and thus my wait for a handmade galette was only about 10 minutes. I had the enjoyment of watching Alain work - there are giant saucepans of onions caramelizing, perfuming the air. Everything is done in it's own time - there is no rushing this process. The galette will be flipped when it's ready - not before. Ham will be hand sliced, just for you. And when it's folded, wrapped and done you'll have a meal that can feed two. It will be hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. You will pay with cash, because Alain takes nothing else. Like I said, the man does things his own way. The same fingers that chop fresh veggies will be handling money, popping some morsels of ham into his mouth and poking the onions to check for doneness. There won't be any washing in between these steps. Deal with it. When I paid, some of my Euros fell into that giant pan of onions and was simply fished out. Doesn't matter - still the best galette I've ever had.

Yelp
Prepare yourself for a wait as this is usually a 2 person booth. The day we went the chef himself was there (the day before he wasn't but the fill in was doing a similar act). The chef cracks jokes, let's you taste the cheese, explains the options, takes his time to make a good sandwich. He seems to give everyone this special treatment so you aren't as irate waiting a while. The day I went was a bit of a circus with some Chinese show filming and kind of just being all up in the kitchen and everyone's face. Despite that the food was good. Fresh ingredients, plentiful, and filling. We shared one sandwich and one crepe and were full for hours after.

Yelp
We found this place on yelp, and we walked from the Eiffel tower rushing to get there before it closed, advertised as 3:30 PM. We arrived 10 minutes till 330, and we were very kindly greeted and explained the menu, which is all written up on the blackboard in French. The sandwiches are made to order, and the crêpe sandwiches are made in the kitchen from a preset recipe. And cannot be changed. However the sandwiches were awesome and so was the crepe, my crepe was vegetarian and a bit on the sweet side-but still very tasty. Many more customers came in after us. So i think their closing times are-flexible depending on customers.
