Trendy London Restaurants for Spotting Celebrities That Are Still Cool | Eater London

"Back in 2004, restaurateurs Pablo Flack and David Waddington turned a small street in Bethnal Green into a destination of note, with designers, artists, writers and stylists becoming regulars for Sunday roasts and a mean Espresso Martini. Nearly 20 years later, and the restaurant is something of an institution for East London. It’s a reputation helped by regular drag shows from Jonny Woo and friends. The supermodel Irina Shayk was spotted here recently." - Lauren Cochrane

Came across this place accidentally and it was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time, the food was absolutely incredible! ( highly recommend the mussels, steak and crème brûlée), you could tell that everything was homemade with so much love and passion. Really beautiful spot, perfect for a quiet and cosy date night. Will definitely come again ♥️

We had a fantastic dining experience at Chez Elles, delicious food, generous hosting and a wonderful atmosphere. The food was excellent, the Steak Tartare and Beef Onglet were stand out. The friendly and knowledgable staff made the perfect night out, thank you!

Took my mum here for her birthday dinner. Service was good but food was average and over priced. Not sure what the hype is about but I guess it’s in a nice location. Also a bit strange for a french restaurant to be out of champagne at 7 on a Friday… Edit: had a kind conversation with staff and their approach made me increase review. My words are still honest, but take into consideration that we are pescatarian so our food choices were limited 🤷🏽‍♂️

Best onion soup ever! The steak medium rare - top notch. Great service. Maybe some French house music in the background?

French dinner at Chez Elles. Along Brick Lane where it is famous for curries and recently an influx of Chinese restaurants. We went against the grain and had French food. The setting and menu was authentic however the overall quality could have been a little better. The cheese souffle was a little cold, while the beef tartare had chewy bits. Last but not least the duck confit was a bit dry.

A gorgeous meal in a beautifully curated space. Snails and steak tartar 10/10. Definitely worth the visit.

Phenomenal mains. The duck confit and the steak with French fries are a must. I guarantee that you will absolutely be blown away by them. Unfortunately, the onion soup was too sweet for my taste.

We came for a lunch and I was really positively surprised by the quality of the food being a French myself. We ordered the beef / fries and trout. They were both very tasty. The fries crusty outside and soft inside, the trout was very tasty with the tomatoes / truffle sauce. All was delicious. I really recommend. It is a bit on the pricey side with dishes above 20 pounds. But it was worth it. The staff is nice and decoration cosy.
