"Chicken features heavily on the menu and the owner is picky about them – he uses only pullets from 5 to 6 months old for their tender meat. Specialities include the classic three-cup chicken that imparts rich aromas, perfect with the chewy pork blood cake. The crispy deep-fried chicken rolls, and the rich, flavourful chicken soup are also worth trying. Don’t forget to end the meal with their homemade egg pudding. Service is warm and friendly." - Michelin Inspector

Why only four stars? They are good but not that good yet. I am a chicken lover, very picky about the definition of yummy chicken. Honestly their pricing isn't cheap at all naturally I will have my certain expectations. Until this moment I still don't get it why chicken can be that expensive. Anyway, if you are selling that high you'd better be good. Other Taiwanese dishes on the menu they are just okay not very impressive.

Famous for the 3 color chickens but the taste is actually quite blend without sauce. The other dishes are more impressive than the chicken. A bit on the expensive side given the taste and environment.

It’s a traditional Taiwanese cuisine restaurant, the signature dish is chicken sampler. Which includes 3 kinds of chicken: boiled, smoked, and black bone chicken. Other dishes are delicious too. My favorite dishes are oyster stir fried with fermented bean, egg omelet with diced dry radish, stir fry pork heart with Taiwanese satay sauce. Another classic dish is creme caramel, the texture is a little dense with lightly bitter caramel....a perfect ending.

One of the oldest restaurants in Taipei. Serve speciality like Chicken with black, soya and normal chicken. The meat is chewy and tasty. Could have some more sauce to enhance it. The fried Taiwanese “big head “ fish was superb, hotpot spicy tofu, oyster , simple fried egg omelette with preserved pickle was really good. Serve chicken rice .. chicken oil mix with white rice not too bad but prefer stronger flavour. The fried squid balls was so so good especially gorse with few beers!

This a place you don’t wanna miss while visiting Taipei. The chicken is just superb and probably this was the best mapo doufu ever eaten. English and Japanese are spoken, WI-FI available if asked at the counter.

The pudding after meal is a must. Old fashion Taiwan cuisine. Nothing more nothing less, just what I need. Suitable for large group gathering. Special dishes require reservations.
