"Chicken features heavily on the menu and the owner is picky about them – he uses only pullets from 5 to 6 months old for their tender meat. Specialities include the classic three-cup chicken that imparts rich aromas, perfect with the chewy pork blood cake. The crispy deep-fried chicken rolls, and the rich, flavourful chicken soup are also worth trying. Don’t forget to end the meal with their homemade egg pudding. Service is warm and friendly." - Michelin Inspector

Service was abruptl, almost rushed because the place was crowded. Hygiene was an issue with servers. Entrees are served with a large attractive rooster ceramic covering. However, that rooster ceramic covering is re-used over and over again for every single table in the restaurant. So you only catch a glimpse of it for a few seconds because they literally take it away to be used at another table. Really? Entrees are on the small side, but the taste is average. Crowded noisy place.

The chicken is tender and tasty. Have the soy sauce , white and black chicken. The chicken rice is very fragrant and not too oily. Deep fried pork intestine and sesame oil pork and chicken kidney also worth trying . The fried squid and chicken ball is seasonal; fried to perfection.

Delicious local food. The rice is amazing and everyone should order it. If you dare not to see the bones, please try drunken chicken. I like the black-bone chicken a lot. The quality of chicken is super elastic. After-meal dessert is pudding, handmade and quite tasty 😋.

We told the maitre d we didn't have a reservation and he was quite rude, saying "no reservation no table" then flat out ignored us. Another waitress saw what was happening and kindly gave us a table. We ordered mapo tofu, chicken roll, cuttlefish, three taste chicken, sesame oil chicken casserole etc. My fav were the mapo tofu and cuttlefish. Least fav was the casserole. A good eat overall and would definitely come again.

Decent Taiwanese food ( we guess), enjoyed most with delicious tofu and flavorful braised pork. We were also treated to a complimentary dessert, which was a nice surprise. Overall, a very satisfying dining experience in Taipei—definitely worth the price. (Small size is more than enough for two)

This place deserves a higher than 4.2 rating. Super well made local cuisine. Ok, yes, it is on the pricier side but you get good quality with it and the restaurant is in a tourist trap area. My favorite is of course the chicken broth rice with Drunken Chicken legs. What a combo. All other dishes are well made and delicious. The location is tourist center but the restaurant is clean the service is fast and it does help when you speak Chinese.

Food was quite good, and done the traditional Taiwanese way. I think folks here are all old fashioned (there is nothing wrong with this), nevertheless, we were served efficiently and promptly. If you were to come here you should know how to order everything in Chinese. Only problem was that we wanted to retain a menu for follow-up orders but the uncle took it away anyway after 10 minutes. I would suggest if the restaurant could make more menus then we could study it properly.
