"Edgewater: Neighborhood coffeeshop and cafe Chicago Grind is closed after seven years on the corner of Berwyn and Broadway, according to area blog Edgeville Buzz. It was owned by Department of Coffee and Social Affairs, a London-based coffee chain that operated shops in Lakeview and West Loop until the company entered liquidation in September 2020." - Naomi Waxman

This is one of the best coffee shops in Chicago. The staff is very friendly, the drinks are delicious, and the food is wonderful. The environment is very relaxing, not too loud, and quite welcoming. Highly recommend visiting Chicago Grind.

Nice Indie style coffee shop on Broadway. They had a a variety of drinks. Came on a rainy day and wanted to try something hot. The barista was super friendly when I inquired about their London Fog. Had it made with skim milk and it was amazing. Definitely will try their other drinks in the future. They also have your typical coffee shop pastries. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Nice lighting as well. Parking can be difficult with some meters available , but there is free street parking on the sides.

UPDATE: This place has really gone downhill under new ownership 2019, even though it's still busy. DIRTY (see photos)! Also, a much more limited selection of baked goods. That's too bad because it's conveniently located with a large space offering a variety of seating options.

Cozy coffeehouse. I liked it. Ordered two sandwiches - Turkey Pesto Panini and Turkey Fiesta Panini. Both were prepared really well and filling - felt like it was made for family. Hot chocolate was good as well. I will try the spicy hot chocolate the next time I’m there. If you are on Broadway - this is a good place for a quick cuppa. Staff is friendly and will accept any special requests you have.

Great staff, food, and atmosphere. There is a nice selection of breakfast, flatbread, sandwiches, and paninis to choose from. I had the B&B Breakfast Burrito. It was delicious and filling as well as the brownie I ate later. I will definitely return to try some other items on the menu. By the way, this is also a good place to conduct meetings. They also offer free wifi.

Great coffee shop! We had breakfast that was delicious. I had a flatbread with scrambled eggs and avocado and my friend has waffles. Wifi available. Our server was terrific.

The perfect alternative to "chains!" Turmeric Ginger Latte. Interesting combo of flavors. Loved it! Memphis Smokehouse Flatbread. Light and satisfying with bursts of flavor. The menu includes breakfast, flatbread, cold sandwiches, panini, some pastas, salads and of course- coffee drinks. Great neighborhood place... and service with a smile!!!

I stopped in about an hour before they closed for a cup of coffee and was a little disappointed at the fact that they only had one type of roast available and weren't willing to brew me a lighter roast of coffee. I went ahead with the dark roast that had probably been sitting around all day and found it wasn't actually that bad with cream and stevia. The dining area is actually very cozy, modern, and clean. I also liked how they have a number of choices in terms of how you would like to sweeten your coffee. I just wish they would offer different blends throughout the entire day or at least be willing to brew a lighter roast with a pour over or French press. I would recommend it and would stop by again tho.
