Illinois Governor Drinks Chocolate Milk to Demonstrate Diversity | Eater

"A news outlet covered a staged 'chocolate milk' bit in which one participant observed that diversity is often placed low in organizational priorities and another tasted the drink and exclaimed, 'It’s really, really good... Diversity!' The report also notes that the first participant has been performing the chocolate milk routine for about 16 years." - Greg Morabito

Questionable Journalistic Ethics The print version on 5/8/24 in the page 4 story “Waukegan officials balk at requested Israel-Hamas ceasefire vote” includes the statement “Since Oct. 7, Israeli forces have killed more than 34,000 Palestinian civilians in Gaza, more than 70% of whom are women and children.” No source is cited. This sentence has been deleted from the digital edition. These figures align with those recently reported by the “Hamas Health Ministry” which is aligned with Hamas and has every incentive to inflate the number. The figures have been widely criticized by credible journalists, and I would argue they have been effectively debunked. It is questionable whether reports by the Hamas Health Ministry are useful at all, but at a minimum the Tribune has an ethical obligation to include an attribution and expose the bias of the source. What fact checking did the editors do? Another ethical problem is that although this sentence was deleted from the digital version, nowhere is the revision called out as a correction. This is a violation of best practices.

Stop throwing your garbage paper on my property. You make our neighborhoods look like garbage. Down with the Tribune.

Should you make the mistake and try their digital subscription, be forewarned. It is not user friendly, canceling it is nearly impossible, no one keeps records of any calls or emails made to cancel, and they will continue to bill each month. Even when you think you are done with them, they will continue to bother you via phone.

Yelp
I will be cancelling my subscription today. I am done with this paper. All my favorite sportswriters are gone. Paul Sullivan blasting our President today put me over the edge. I can't remember the last time he wrote anything worth reading. I can't remember the last time they printed a hockey box score. They used to be so good. Now, they wanted $70.00 a month for an online subscription? No way.

Yelp
Can't stand dealing with their customer service people We have a second newspaper in Chicago Thank goodness

Yelp
Worst people ever, always false information and the service sucks. That's why there not in business. Good luck you should change your name to Chicago trouble

Yelp
I subscribed for Wednesday and Sunday delivery on June 19th. I haven't received any newspapers. I have called 3 times so far, and each time, I end up speaking to someone overseas. Each time they promise, I will receive my paper, and nothing happens. Beyond horrible customer service. This company should close its doors permanently.

Courtney F.

Yelp
It took the Tribune 17 days to send someone out to fix the front window they broke when the delivery person threw the paper threw the window (and did not apologize.) I called 7 times beginning the day after the window was broken and always got the same promise that someone would contact me within 48 hours. Never happened. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am now going on my own social media campaign to make people aware of the poor service. Finally someone came today - but it took 2 1/2 weeks from the time my window was broken. I have cancelled my subscription. Beware! Very poor (non existent) Customer Service.

Jason S.

Yelp
OMG...this is my third time giving the Trib another try in the last five years. I simply gave up a few years ago. The latest offer on 12/13/24 was get two years (digital subscription) for $6. I purchased that. No receipt. My log-in worked but I had no access to articles. Had to call customer service. Somehow they made it "work." And now I have access. But they told me I only have a one-year subscription. I explained the offer I used. They said that wasn't an offer. So, I had to EMAIL THEIR OFFER EMAIL BACK TO THEM. The WORST. WHEN will the private equity folks behind the Trib realize these tactics are KILLING this great paper and the trust readers used to have in it. F-in read THESE reviews as part of your self-assessment / business plan for getting new subscribers. JESUS.

Max S.

Yelp
The Tribune scammed us. They increased our subscription rates by $640 per year but did not provide email notice. Instead, they "sent us a postcard." On their website, there is no way to find your bill. Nor is there anyway to find your current subscription price. The only explanation for using solely a paper notice is the hope that people will not see. They are a scam. Cancel your subscription.

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
Asked the tribune to redact an old article (1986) that states I was arrested in connection with blowing up a building. I was never indited due to lack of evidence connecting me to the crime, and the actual offenders were caught (and confessed) later that year. The tribune said that redaction of the article that wrongfully incriminates me would be censorship. I asked that they at least add to the post an update stating that I was never indited and link to the later article that exonerates me. Instead, the trib decided to 're-post' the old article with a 2021 date! This stupid Trib post has cost me several potential jobs and is a wrongful stain on my reputation. Any lawyer want my case? I have already been marginalized by the woke mob, they do not need more bogus information to attack me with.

Michael M.

Yelp
This past Saturday and today my paper was not delivered. I used their automated customer service number to alert them of problems and was assured a paper would be delivered. Nothing happened. I'm going to cancel subscription if it happens again. Also it is impossible to talk an actual representative of the Tribune ,thanks to their convoluted customer service protocol.

Yelp
While vacationing in Chicago in 2023, I signed up for the online edition with the intention of exploring entertainment options. I only wanted a temporary subscription. Since then, I've tried multiple times to cancel my subscription, and yet to this day they still collect $34 out of my bank account monthly. I've called multiple times to have this stopped, and they say they have no record of my name, my address, my email or even the number of the debit card they use to take my money. I called again Tuesday and was told to send an email with a screen shot of my bank statement to the consumer email. I was told they would get back to me within 72 hours. It has been longer than that, and I've still received no word. I went to my bank today, and they took steps to block any further deductions. However, the last time I tried this, they kept right on debiting my account. The bank has provided me proof of the stop payment, for the previous attempt and again today. People wonder why newspapers are going down the crapper so quickly, and this underscores, bolds, italicizes and all caps this. This inability to get it stopped has caused me hundreds of dollars, and judging by all the negative reviews, I suspect myriad others have had similar problems. STOP MY SUBSCRIPTION.

Jim A.

Yelp
Subscribed for a 25 cents/week, 26 week promotion and was immediately charged $23.96/month. Called and was told that "rates are subject to change" and that no refund would be issued. This is outright fraud. Cancelled and will never be a customer again.

Scott S.

Yelp
Last year we canceled our subscription to the trib because the delivery person couldn't get the Sunday paper to us before 10:30am no matter how many times we called to complain and never had anyone call us back. My wife signed us up again this year because of some promo and it's hard to believe, but it's worse than before. The Wednesday paper rarely shows up and the Sunday paper makes its way at NOON! Again, no matter how many times you call nothing changes. I was able to speak briefly to the guy delivering the paper and he just shrugged saying he was getting fewer deliveries but a larger area to cover... seems like he could get his butt up outta bed earlier to get the paper here but if the Trib doesn't care, why should he?

Frank C.

Yelp
I am pleased with the Tribune. This rating pertains to billing. They continually over-charge me. I have discussed the matter with customer service but they have been very unhelpful. Perhaps I should consider switching to the Sun-Times.

Yelp
If we could give Chicago Tribune a 0 or negative star ranking, we would. My husband and I purchased our new home in December 2023. The previous homeowners must have subscribed to a weekly clippers magazine delivered from the tribune. We called customer service four times and emailed them twice. The first two out of the four telephone representatives said they could not do anything to help us because we were not the original account owners on the Tribune subscription. The third telephone representative told us she was able to cancel the subscription, but could not provide any confirmation in writing that the subscription was cancelled. The last telephone representative told us the original account owner had to be the one to cancel the service. The inconsistency and lack of communication in 2024 is unacceptable. Furthermore, the Chicago Tribune did not respond to our two emails. This is why newspaper services are useless, horrible for the environment, and antiquated. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS PIECE OF CRAP SERVICE.

Yelp
I am so disappointed with the Chicago Tribune! My father passed away on Friday, July 12th. My mother paid $635 dollars to have his obituary printed in their newspaper on Tuesday, July 16th. Due to their electricity going out and then their back up generator going out, the paper didn't print. Thus, my father's death notice wasn't published. We checked the papers on Wednesday, July 17th. His death notice wasn't printed. I contacted the newspaper and was told why the papers didn't get printed on Tuesday, July 16th and that my mother would receive a refund of $635 dollars in 7-10 business days. It is now Friday, August 9th and my mother STILL hasn't received her refund. She has called and spoken to the manager of obituaries, James Morgan and a few Chicago Tribune employees. They all have apologized and said that my mother would receive a refund because the paper was not printed on Tuesday, July 16th. Today, my Mom spoke to a Chicago Tribune employee named Sharla and was told that the paper had been printed and thus, my mom would not be receiving a refund. My mother told her she had spoken to James Morgan and a few other Chicago Tribune employees and they admitted to the paper not being printed that day (her neighbors and local stores can vouch for this as well since they didn't receive their copies) and that my Mom would receive a refund. Sharla said she'd have to speak to her manager and get back to my mom. I am beyond livid. My mother is grieving the loss of my father and is being hassled around by these employees. For what? She paid for a service. They didn't provide it. Thus, she wants and deserves a refund, but they're dragging their feet. It makes the Chicago Tribune and its staff look money hungry and incredibly rude. This used to be a respected paper. It definitely can't be called that anymore. I will be contacting a lawyer for my mother and NBC news. It's so sad that this is what things have come to.

Yelp
Very bad customers service!!! Discouraging to use personal check for the payments. Do not disclose an actual cost if you do not wish to us a"digital paper option!
google avatar

Yelp
Way too difficult to cancel subscription. You can't cancel your subscription online. You have to call their customer service number that is not available 24/7, then you have to wait on hold until someone can take the call. This is the only subscription I've ever had that's been this difficult to cancel.
google avatar

Peggy K.

Yelp
Don't subscribe! I've been charged $34/month for god knows how long for a digital subscription that I didn't know I had. I called to cancel and they tell me I owe them $70. I told them I'm not paying and they threaten to send me to collections. I guess the greedy bastards haven't gotten enough money out of me for something I don't use. CHICAGO TRIBUNE SUCKS!

Richard C.

Yelp
We have had home delivery of Sunday's Chicago Trib and the daily Daily Herald for many years. They are both delivered by the Trib. In Palatine the delivery was generally pretty good considering we had a 200 ft driveway. Delivery was right to our front door under their seniors program. The seniors front door delivery costs extra. But now in Schaumburg, we sometimes get front door, or we get garage door, or curbside, or we get missed papers. Repeated calls in which they seem to understand the problems and promise correction, actually don't solve the problem. After a few days they may totally miss, or deliver to the curb or the garage instead of the front door. One of the features we like is the puzzle page in the Trib. But a missed paper is bad news because the answer to the puzzle comes the next Sunday. The Trib is a quality publication, I can't understand how they can be so very bad with the delivery.

Katherine T.

Yelp
The person who delivers my brother's paper ( he is 77 years old and lives alone) is the worst. I have called to complain too many times to count. He throws the paper out of his car window barely slowing down. He has found it on the side walk, by the garbage cans on the side of the garage and between the curb and the street. It's almost never thrown close to the front door as requested. It has been picked up off of the sidewalk numerous times by people passing by. We can see all of this on the doorbell camera. I have not canceled this subscription yet because he loves to read the paper while drinking his coffee. I will be canceling when the snow starts falling, because I can't have him searching for a paper in bad weather.

Roger S.

Yelp
Good paper with good local coverage. Delivery has been reliable, and their Android app is fine. Why only two stars? Dealing with "customer service" is appalling unless you desire stealth charges and price increases, a long, unhelpful automated phone tree with no off-ramp to a human, and - ultimately - customer service people who barely speak or understand English. And you WILL TRY to deal with them often as they sneak in costs and price increases. How frustrating.

Ursula K.

Yelp
Zero stars, paper is mediocre and billing is worse. Representatives are off shore and have no idea of what's going on with your subscription or your delivery. Today we entered into a new agreement for the next 6 months. Stay tuned... I'm old school and enjoy sitting down with the paper and catching up with my morning coffee. Any ideas how to make that happen? Looking forward to an answer from a Tribune representative ! Thank you

Kitty I.

Yelp
When I called to cancel my subscription after a year the rude woman on the phone upgraded me to a more expensive package instead of canceling it. Now they keep calling me to get me to sign up again, and when I tell them their company lied to me before, they promptly hang up on me. Worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. They've been calling me for two years now.

Thomas O.

Yelp
I have yet to get my paper delivered. I have had to call multiple times. It's going on two Sundays and haven't received a paper yet.

Bryan P.

Yelp
Was offered a discount to continue my subscription, which I excepted. The discount never took effect and was still charged full price for a couple of months. Canceled. On to next newspaper.

Owen B.

Yelp
I was subscribed to the Tribune for a little under 2 years and I liked the reporting around the recent mayoral election. I decided to stop my subscription at the end of last year (which was really difficult to do) and received confirmation over the phone that I wouldn't be charged any further. A month later, the Tribune had hired a debt collector to reach out to me regarding outstanding payments (impossible, since I had auto-pay set up). I disputed the debt but it went to another collections agency who harassed me with phone calls for a few months until I learned that I wasn't the only person experiencing this credit-extortion scam from the Tribune. I called customer service, and after threatening to "escalate" the situation (thanks, Caroline from Billing) they finally agreed to forgive the "debt." I hope they're not lying to me this time. What a hastle! It's not worth your time to purchase a subscription from the Tribune. They will nickle-and-dime you, and the paper is truly underwhelming. The weekly ad book is literally the same product. Sadly one of the worst big-city papers in circulation today. Poor product and poor customer service.
google avatar

Henry H.

Yelp
A representative from Chicago Tribune called me and offered a "special promotion". So I paid 6 months all together. But 3 weeks later they sent me a new bill, because what I paid 'was for 3 weeks only'. Without my consent, they canceled my subscription, and the girl hung up on me. I am not surprised that most reviews on Yelp are 1 star and related to the fraudulent billing issues. It is a pity that such a great newspaper had become a scam and classless laughing stock because of the awful business practices - which they outsourced to people who do not speak English and could careless. Chicago Tribune is still my favorite newspaper. I just feel so sorry to see their downfall and lament the loss of a great news empire. This is the end of a great run - an epitome of the fall of America.
google avatar

SARINA E.

Yelp
One star is too much for that mediocre newspaper as well as Sun Sentinel . They all make mistakes non stop. They have the worst journalists in the world. I will be forced to end my long time home delivery paper because of non stop issues. iIt is like talking to walls. Journalist Sheldon Jacobson just wrote that TSA pre check is free when that plan is not. I knew it but i thought after reading the article that the rules have changed. No! I was and i am always right. Those people should be living in Africa or Afghanistan and write there but not per sure not USA. Very mediocre service!

Gerard P.

Yelp
The Tribune is like the "Hotel California". Once you get in you can't get out. I canceled my subscription a month ago. They call me at work; they call me at home. I have a paper in my driveway and I'm 150 miles away. Get the Daily Herald; it's a better paper. If you like sports go with the Sun Times.

Roger L.

Yelp
I cancelled Sunday paper and digital subscriptions because of poor delivery of the paper. It was thrown on the public sidewalk where people could steal it. The delivery person merely had to set it one foot forward and refused. With weeks before the prepaid subscription ran out, I cancelled on the phone with customer service. A few days later, the Trib sent me an email asking for another chance with an offer of digital for 6 months for $2. I tried to accept it but the website rejected the attempt, stating that my account had an outstanding balance. After half an hour on the phone, a young male agreed the Trib had made an error and he would fix it. He did not. I just got off the phone with their tech support group and they elevated me to someone who stated that Trib policy was not to allow renewal within 30 days of closing accounts. I explained that they should fix the error. He stated again that there was nothing anyone could do, even though the Trib sent an invitation it could not fulfill. Not what I wanted. He suggested I try with a different email address. Thanks, Trib. Never again.

Tappy T.

Yelp
What happened to the People's Pharmacy column? I always turned to this column first in the Wednesday Food and Health section. Not there today. Another great feature dumped? Not much reason to subscribe to this once great newspaper anymore.

Michael L.

Yelp
I have been a subscriber to the Tribune for over 20 years and like the paper. We stopped delivery a couple years ago due to the unreasonable cost and unreliable delivery and went with the digital edition which I like. However, I have been unable to stop getting the the AM and PM editions from being delivered to my email. I clicked on "unsubscribe" for a week which did not stop the emails. I logged into my account and was unable to stop the emails. Lastly, I called and talked to 4 different people 4 days ago. The last person I spoke to said they would take care of this. However, I am still getting the emails. Totally ridiculous. Unsubscribe should have taken care of this. They obviously don't care.

Yelp
Fraudulent billing practices. Extremely dishonest organization. I was only able to terminate my subscription by filing a BBB complaint. They sign you up on a cheap introductory offer (4 weeks for 99c). Then after that, it renews at the price of a full subscription ($3.99 per week). All is well so far. After a few billing periods, they mysteriously raise your rate from $3.99 per week to $8 per week, despite the fact that this is double the advertised rate for a subscription and double what you agreed to. You call their atrocious customer support to cancel. They inform you that your subscription has been cancelled. Then, a month later, they charge you again. Call support again, and they'll tell you "oh, your subscription is still active, and there's nothing we can do." I was finally able to get a refund, but only by filing a complaint with the BBB. It took over a month to get my subscription cancelled. Avoid at all costs!

Gary J.

Yelp
Do not subscribe to Chicago Tribune under any promotional offer. They make it extremely difficult to cancel. Even when you call in and they say you are cancelled, they do not cancel you and continue to bill you. I even tried calling in prior to the promo expiring and was unable to complete the cancellation.

Yelp
Chicago Tribune Building---Slices of History, Both Inside and Out Spend some time exploring this neo-Gothic landmark on Michigan Avenue. Built based on a contest that awarded architects prize money totaling $100,000, including a $50,000 first place award which was substantially considering some workers at the time made $1 per day. On the outer walls of the building, there are slices of places from around the world-such as the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal, the Parthenon, Hagia Sophia, the Palace of Westminster, petrified wood from the Redwood National and State Parks, the Great Pyramid, The Alamo, Notre Dame de Paris, Abraham Lincoln's Tomb, Independence Hall, and the Berlin Wall. More recently a piece of steel recovered from the World Trade Center was added to the wall. On the inside in entrance lobby, the walls have famous quotes related to freedom of speech and the press. A great place to see slices of history.

Larry G.

Yelp
The Chicago Tribune has gone from a worthwhile publication to a joke that lacks content, customer service and any advertising that made the Sunday paper worth receiving. I had 7 day home delivery for over thirty five years and witnessed the news paper falling apart, little or no content, customer service by people who you cannot understand, off shore who do nothing for the customer. I stopped the paper months a year ago and only started getting the Northbrook Star for local news a few month ago. They give me the Sunday Tribune for free and that is what is worth. I have called twice in the last month receiving wet papers. They were supposed to deliver a dry paper the next day. Both times the idiot never came back. I do not want a digital paper and it took weeks to get them to stop sending it to me. Bottom line is the Chicago Tribune is dead and they do not seem to care and the will ride it to the grave.
google avatar

Bakul S.

Yelp
Beyond frustrated. Terrible Customer Service. After 10 calls over the past two weeks I am still not receiving the paper delivery. Somehow no one in customer service including two supervisors know why the home delivery is not taking place. I sent an email from website five days ago specifically requesting the issue to be escalated to a manager or director and no one has responded or called me back I am calling again tomorrow and requesting full refund. Will never subscribe again. New subscribers please think twice before falling for their special home delivery promotion.

Dan R.

Yelp
I bought a house a month ago. The Tribune is being delivered every day. I have called the customer service number multiple times and am assured that the delivery of the unwanted papers will cease. I have sent the customer support department multiple emails and have received no response. I am not a customer of the Chicago Tribune and never will be. Please stop delivering these unwanted papers. It is wasteful.

Katherine B.

Yelp
DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!! there are multiple reasons for this: 1) does not deliver paper regularly/at all 2) biased news base 3) it's literally a scam. prices are raised constantly, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel your subscription!! after calling multiple times to unhelpful customer service, my card was billed time and time again. There are multiple subscription layers, and when you ask to cancel they only cancel one. The only way I got them to stop billing me was to threaten to sue for fraud. If you have already subscribed or are trying to unsubscribe, call your provider and ask for a block of charges from the tribune. this way they cannot sneak new charges every few months as they did to me. If I could give zero stars I would. This business is openly scamming people.
google avatar

Andy L.

Yelp
Very bad business practices. It's a shame that they are one of the biggest papers in the city because I do miss having some news from back home now that I live in California. They charged me a lot more than what was originally quoted and then when I try to cancel, I'm told that the only way to cancel is to call their customer service department which does everything in their power to make it difficult to get ahold of them. They hang up on you, leave you on hold without coming back to the line, and always claim that they are transferring the call but the next thing you hear is a dial tone. There is no way that this is not purposeful. It is too common. Check out their complaints on the BBB site and you will see that I am not alone in this experience. It's shameful that you represent such a great city but you behave like crooks.
google avatar

Noel S.

Yelp
I only gave one star because otherwise I couldn't write a review...one star is generous. They just billed me $34.00 for 4 weeks of digital reading. Outrageous! I complained, and they said they were issuing a credit...it never came. Customer service even hung up on me when I questioned why the charges went up so high! I was not at all rude. Customer service mostly cannot speak English very well. Their abbreviated content on digital is a joke. It's a total rip-off. I will look at my next bill and see if they were once again lying to me. It used to be a decent paper...not any longer. Sadly, I don't think they will be around much longer, and they did it to themselves.
google avatar

Siobhan D.

Yelp
I actually LIKE this paper and I will continue to buy it on Sundays, but at my local 7-11 rather than home delivery. As other Yelpers have reported, it is SO hard to cancel a subscription once they have your credit card! There is no way to cancel on-line or during the weekend. You have to call M-F during business hours, which I did, from work. 5 minutes I spent telling the lady "I need to cancel my subscription. No more. End this subscription. Do not charge my credit card." She kept stating the same script, "You are are valued subscriber..." and trying to convince me to keep subscribing. Offering deals. Something about a charity. I forget since I just kept saying, "I'm at work, I don't have time!! Please just tell me that you will cancel my subscription and won't charge my credit card!!" Finally she agreed and confirmed she would end my subscription. That said, I do appreciate the Tribune's in-depth coverage, local articles, photography, spirts, crossword puzzle, and Sunday coupons. So I would have given the Trib 4 stars if they weren't so aggressive with the subscription bit.

Gerald M.

Yelp
Have been a 7day subscriber to the Tribune for 53 years. Now I read the digital version and my wife reads the paper copy. New experience for me in my 50+ years of subscribing to the Tribune. This is the third email I have sent about my problems with the digital edition. No response from the first two. Problem #1. For about two weeks, the morning digital edition is no longer delivered to my mailbox Problem #2. For about two weeks, the evening digital edition is no longer delivered to my mailbox. Problem #3. A new one: subscriber service is totally non-responsive. So, fewer people are subscribing to newspapers. Looks like the Chicago Tribune has a strategy to drive away current subscribers.

Yelp
I called the tribune to place an Ad & all I got was attitude & sarcastic responses. Hello, I'm lost & im doing my best here to understand there is no need to be so rude & condescending. She would also purposely take these extremely long pauses in between each sentence with deep breaths just to let me know shes annoyed & clearly hates her job.

Yelp
First of all, I have never ever left a bad review or complained because usually, a legitimate business is able to resolve a complaint within the first communication. This A+ rating they have is complete BS. I have been getting UNSOLICITED mail from the Chicago Tribune with the "Inside Shopper" coupon program for the last 6 months or so. I just got off the phone for THE 5TH TIME I spoke to Gab and his "supervisor" to stop getting this mail once again. I received I supposed "confirmation number" stating that this subscription has been canceled. I THINK YOU'RE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COUPON PROGRAM IS A JOKE AND A DISRESPECT AGAINST PEOPLES' PRIVACY RIGHTS. I AM REQUESTING AN IMMEDIATE CANCELLATION AND CEASE OF NONSOLICITED ADVERTISEMENT MAIL "INSIDE SHOPPER" TO MY ADDRESS AND A COPY/PROOF OF MY AGREEMENT TO SUBSCRIBE TO THIS SERVICE. I am else letting you know that if you are not able to fix this a cease this advertisement on your en I am going to have to take legal action. Thank you!

Joseph D.

Yelp
Missing Sunday paper. Called and told they would contact the delivery agent and I would get a paper. 3 hrs later, no paper delivered. Called again and phone system did not give me an option for a paper today. Says they can deliver the Sunday paper tomorrow Monday. not holding my breath.

Eric D.

Yelp
I received an invoice from the Chicago Tribune on May 24, 2022 in the amount of $15.84. On June 7, 2022 I received a letter from a collections agency that I owed the Tribune $15.84! That's a little over two weeks from the invoice date! The invoice was not marked as past due. It was just an invoice. The Chicago Tribune has many problems, add A/R to the list. I remember when the Chicago Tribune was one of the premiere papers in the USA. Today they have been reduced to nothing more than a tabloid.

Yelp
I am sick to death of the RED PLUM FLYERS AND ROLL UPS THROWN ALL OVER MY LAWN AND IN THE SNOW. It is like an ad you are not home if traveling. I did not ask you for this...I did not want this...it is my property not yours. Where does the owner of Red Plum live so I can take these and dump them on your lawn? "Just fill out the mailing list removal form at Valpak.com and at Redplum.com. RetailMeNot recently purchased Redplum, so this is where you'll want to go to get rid of those " This is a big fib- they never stop sending them or throwing them on your yard. Can I get a coupon for "Trash Pick up" you leave in my yard??

Yelp
Fraudulent billing practices. For example, my last bill was for a period ending 8/22/22, and covering a Wed-Friday and Sunday subscription. However, they billed again on 5/12 with payment due 6/9/22 for the next period! This cuts off over 2 months from the previously claimed subscription period. In small print on the invoice is says there are several special issues that are sent out, which is monthly, for which they charge $7.50 and reduce your subscription period to cover these. However, the issues are on SATURDAYS, and I don't get them! This can't be legal!
