I was hungry and wanted to try something new, so I did! I saw that they have a salad bar and went in there for that. The staff was so kind the man patiently answered my questions and put out fresh chicken breast for my salad!!! Sooooo delicious!!! He was so nice that he even gave me sample of their best selling soup (cream of chicken ) and WOW best cream of chicken I’ve ever had!!! It was my first and definitely won’t be my last timethere. Maybe next time I’ll remember to take pics! I was just in such a hurry to try it! Go here !!! Food is fresh and staff is kind.

Great tasting and very affordable salad bar. Has many toppings to choose from. Adding the grilled Chicken on top was very very good. I love the mix of ranch and balsamic vinaigrette I put on top. It's not often you find quick affordable and healthy food options. This is definitely going to become one of my frequent spots. Going to try the chicken pita next time I come.

They said it would "take awhile to make a wrap, like 10-15 minutes" and asked me if I wanted something else, like the salad bar. I said no, I was fine waiting for 15 minutes. I waited 53 minutes for the wrap. It wasn't even fully wrapped and I did not get the sauce in the wrap or on the side. The chicken itself was decent, but the quality of the wrap and the service were not worth my time or money.

Came here by chance after picking up books at the library. I was worried about the cost, but the chicken special comes with a large side and drink, so i was plenty satisfied! Flame-broiled chicken was soo soo delicious. Everything tastes so fresh and the staff were awesome. The place isn't large, but there are a good number of seats. Tables and chairs remind me of the kind at subway. Nothing special about the interior, but place was very clean and the wall tables are great if you have a stroller or active kid. Overall I recommend this place! Food was very yummy. Next time I'll check out the massive salad bar.

I've been going to this place for years and never had any issues. They have good chicken and give good amount. The prices are decent for the amount of food you get. I usually get the whole chicken with 2 sides - Mashed potatoes, corn, and dirty rice are my favorites. I like that you can see them cooking the chicken and prepping your food in front of you. I've also never had any issues with my wraps or pita sandwiches... they're good people and pretty quick service.

Loved it! Food was hot, fresh, and fast. Service was good! Only wish they would brush BBQ or Buffalo on your chicken for an additional charge.

I come here at least twice a month or more because of their delicious soups, some of the best. My favorite is the Cream of Mushroom or the Cream of Chicken. Eat in or take out they get you in and out in no time. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was there last week and they only had Chicken Noodle Soup that day.

For anyone still crying over the McDonalds Snack Wrap being gone (me) this can start to fill the void. Grilled chicken wrap with gorgeous honey mustard, shreds of cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato. THE KICKER IS THEY ADD CUCUMBER and it adds this boogie element to it. It distracts you from crying about the lost Snack Wrap and opens your doors to a whole new world. During busy lunch hours those chickens look like they are laying out on the beach, but surprise they are on the grill cooking getting ready for you to enjoy.

This place never disappoints. I used to come here 10+ years ago and it's just as good as I remember. They have a salad bar as well as various chicken options and wraps. Great spot to grab lunch!

What a great concept and amazing to see all the chickens on the grill coming through the door! The service was fantastic! Came to have a meeting and I'm not sure if this is a service restaurant but the young lady at the cash register came around to our group when we sat down and asked to take our food and drink order, which we didn't expect from what it looked like. I ordered the chicken works with half a chicken and two sides with pita bread. When my dish came out it looked absolutely scrumptious and I could not wait to devour it! Once I started working on the chicken it was a little dryer then I would have liked but the skin was incredibly crispy! This may have been from sitting on the grill for a while because they have to prep and pre cook a lot of their chicken. The barbecue sauce and salsa that came with a meal we're pretty good as well, which came with the meal. Knowing that the chicken was a little more dry to me I was able to ask for extra barbecue sauce and salsa without being charged which was nice. That's really good to know at places because personally I love sauce so I have to make sure that when I asked for more if I have to pay more or not. It's usually a 50/50 with places. Overall, the food was pretty solid and the price point was fantastic for half a chicken and two sides. I would definitely come back as one of my regular meals or for lunch to pack up on some protein before I workout, but I would choose somewhere else if I was looking for incredibly packed flavors.

I was looking for something a little more on the healthy side for delivery and this popped up as an option. I got a chicken wrap and the mac n cheese (I was craving it too). I thought the Mac n cheese was rather boring and not very flavorful. The wrap was pretty good, though a little messy. Overall I wasn't wowed by the flavor but I would order from here again.

Ordered from Uber eats, and it was seriously the most driest chicken I've ever tasted in my life. The macaroni was watery. It truly tasted like it was made in someone's unseasoned kitchen. Every food item was DISGUSTING

I've been coming to chicken works for over 5 years now and their food is consistently good. I usually get the 1/2 chicken works dinner with 2 sides. This time I tried their mushroom soup and it is like thick mushroom gravy packed with mushrooms. I was in heaven eating this soup! So much flavor.

High quality food year after year. Been going here since they opened and can confirm that the chicken is always good. And don't forget the sides when you order, kids love the Mac and cheese.

No idea, no explanation, no call; order cancelled...really disappointed and wondering where my food is and happened to check my email...

I love chicken works they know exactly how I like my order & every time it's on point I don't mind paying extra $1 for cheese, ranch or anything else I add, however the girl in the front lacks basic customer service skills. She's rude and dry, no thank you or you're welcome Nothing...it makes the experience a little less than it should be. Nonetheless I'll be returning because the food is good! Hopefully next time the cashiers is more welcoming & learns how to smile :)

Always solid food. I get the chicken Caesar wrap. Very consistent. Ask for their free in-house salsa to add on it as you go.

What more can I say? First of they place raw chicken on top of cooked chicken. Their bread or whatever it is was literally on top of the raw chicken. I asked to get a new one and they were absolutely RUDE! I'm very nice to people and to new places I've yet to discover, but it's almost as if they didn't want me there. The chicken was BLAND. Seasoning only covered a few parts of the chicken, but the rest was untouched and unseasoned. The side dishes are mediocre. Pasta salad was bitter. Veggies were bland. I kept having to ask for salt and seasoning. Overall I would NOT recommend this place. I'm upset because it was expensive and I had a terrible experience, and the person who seems to be in charge was the one who was rude. There are better chicken options around here. Jewel's rotisserie chicken is tastier.

The food was fabulous. I had the chicken sandwich and chicken soup- everything was very flavorful and juicy. My husband had the chicken wrap and it was not exactly a wrap since the sides were open- the second he took a bite some of the filling fell out. They should take notes from the people at Chipotle. Other than that, the honey mustard was a little overpowering. A ranch sauce would have been better. The atmosphere is very nice with an open kitchen so you can watch as they cook. It's a great place to check out.

Lovely little spot in Old Irving Park neighborhood! Some healthy ish dishes from chicken, wraps, salads and more are perfectly crafted for their customers. Their wraps are made with spinach infused tortillas. I was able to order from there the other night and was able to pick it up in 15 minutes; super quick service.

This place was clean and nice. There are lot of people inside when I enter and it's a little bit loud. I went directly to the vacant tables and chairs to put my things and went to the counter. They have glass where their ae lot of dishes they have to choose. So definitely their service was quick since if you choose one dish they will immediately put it on some plate. There are lot of dish to choose so I only choose what look good. Some of them are looks boring to eat. It will cost based on my order. I just order fried rice, fried chicken and some toast bread. The fried rice tastes good and it is not oily. Their fried is a little bit tasteless for me and I can't taste any flavors inside. Well I just gave 4 stars rating to this fast-food.

As I was finishing up my meal, I was torn if I should render three (3) or four (4) stars on this place. After some thoughtful considerations, I couldn't justify for giving a four (4)-star review when I knew the food, wasn't at all, memorable. Unfortunately, Yelp rating wouldn't work the same as my first Genetics exam I took in college seven (7) years ago; everyone's grade was so poor that the professor decided to "normalized" the score (I received a C while scoring a 45 on that epic exam). The food I had this evening was a B minus. I was looking forward to trying Chicken Works & Salad Company out because the location wasn't awfully far from my apartment. When I was on the CTA blue line train, I quickly browsed through the menu and spotted the "veggie wraps" on the menu. Hubby refrains from consuming meat since he tries to adhere to vegetarian diets, even though sometimes he would need to break the restrictions if there's no vegetarian-friendly item available. Knowing that hubby wouldn't feel "left out," I happily proceeded to this place, on the corner of Elston and Irving Park Rd. (with entrances on both sides of the restaurant). Besides the veggie wraps I ordered, I added the quarter white meat entree and a cup of chicken soup. The order was ready in ten (10) minutes, and everyone who worked there appeared to be friendly. I did a take-out order to bring home since hubby was out working late, but the dining room was well-lit and clean. I would have chosen to dine in in order to enjoy the food while it was fresh, but I probably would come to the same conclusion that the food was mediocre. The "flavor" of the chicken was the real highlight. The chicken didn't taste bland, yet it was on the drier side. Nevertheless, the texture was tender and the meat came off the bones easily. I liked the chicken soup; the pieces of chicken were delicious. I just wasn't fond of the excessive amount of bow tie pasta I found in the soup. I might be picky and opinionated on what I wanted in my chicken soup, but I personally would prefer to have an assortment of vegetables than to have any form of carbohydrates. I performed a little "taste test" on hubby's veggie wraps. They were decent, but I've had better veggie wraps elsewhere in the city. I don't see myself return this place because Nick's Pit Shop (on Lawrence In Albany Park) seems to be doing a much better job on grilled chicken (plus that yummy green sauce)!

The food was very good. extremely well packed. It did lack any pronounced flavor. But was fresh and tasty. I would recommend it to others.

The chicken work wraps I had from this fast food was delicious! It has different fresh veggies and a tender chicken inside. It was good and the combination of all was perfect. This is definitely I would love to eat every day. This fast food was nice and the staff was friendly. They have variety of options in their menu and there is also a lot of veggie options. I highly suggest this place to those vegetarians. Also, the chicken work wrap is simple and reasonable. I would love to try it again. If I would go in this area, I would really make it a point to visit this spot.

I have only ordered from Chicken Works one time, but my coworkers had high recommendations for them. I ordered the chicken works wrap which comes with chicken, cheese, cucumber, lettuce, and honey mustard. The veggies were fresh and crisp, and the chicken was seasoned well and juicy. It was really big, and tasty without making me feel too guilty about my lunch. The order came to my work quickly, and everything was as ordered. Next I want to go in person and check out their salad bar.

can't get over their salad. They have the best salad that I have ever tasted in my entire life. The veggies were fresh. It was good and very delicious. I also like their Chicken Pita Sandwich. It has a perfect flavor of inside wrap. It's soft to eat and very yummy. I ordered 5 rolls of Chicken Pita Sandwich for take out. I'm sure my wife and kids will surely love it. Aside from that I ordered 2 Veggie Wraps. I like the taste of the veggies inside the wrap. If my wife and kids will love the food that I order I will be back here with them. They have great service. You can ask them anything you want. They are always free to answer your questions. They are nice and friendly. I will give 5 stars for the good dishes and great services. Luckily I found this place.

An absolute gem in the Irving Park neighborhood!! If you're looking for a place to eat healthy, protein-packed, fresh, wholesome food without having to sacrifice on taste-- Chicken Works is the place to go! I've been on the hunt for healthy local spots and ordered delivery from this place on a whim. We tried a ton of different stuff: grilled chicken, baked potatoes, greenbeans, curry rice, pasta salad, corn, and cucumber salad. Every single dish blew us away by being packed with flavor and clearly prepared from scratch with love!! The chicken was piping hot, juicy, tender, flavorful and served with THE BEST pico de gallo I've had in my life. The pico/chicken combo is to die for! The sides were all knock outs but I'd say the baked potato was my favorite. Perfectly boiled red potatoes and they even sent the fixings too (butter & sour cream)! The curry rice was fluffy and had an assortment of veggies like edamame and peas throughout (such an awesome side with the chicken)! The pasta salad was super fresh and hit the spot. The garlic green beans were tender and flavorful, they make eating your veggies enjoyable :) I'm so glad I found this place! A nice meal of grilled chicken, potatoes, & greens is what I've been looking for and I'm so happy I found it. Clearly the owners of this place take a lot of pride in the quality of the product they serve and it shines through in the fantastic food. Don't miss this place, you'll definitely be back!

Truly an Irving Park neighborhood gem. I never have an issue with their customer service or food. They're always so friendly when picking up/ordering, and the delivery drivers they work with on Grubhub are professional and also friendly. My favorite items to order are the whole chicken with sides of mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and green beans or pasta salad, or the chicken pita sandwich!

Move over KFC and Boston Market, there's a new CHICKEN King in town!!! After reading the reviews of this place, I had to try it out. I went in after a session at the gym. As I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to see all the grilled chicken staring me in the face. Right in from of the counter was their full line of ingredients for a salad, that is if you wanted one. So I look at the menu and saw so much to choose from. To play it safe, I decided to go with the 1/4 chicken meal (dark meat as I love chicken legs and thighs). The meal came with a 1/4 chicken (which I think was WAY more than a 1/4 considering they gave me a thigh and 2 legs...I say I was lucky :P ), one side and a fountain drink. I decided on going with the coleslaw as my side. I go to pay and get this, all of that after tax costs me a whole $5.80. I was like WHAT?!@#!@#!@%@# That's amazing but in my head I was thinking that something that cheap can't taste good, can it? I take a seat and a few minutes later my food comes out. I see 3 pieces of chicken, some purple coleslaw and some pita bread. I start eating and to my delight, it was delicious. The coleslaw, though not so natural looking since it was purple, was perfectly made. The pita bread was warm and soft. The chicken was mouth watering and filling and it also came with some salsa and bbq sauce. My new favorite chicken spot!!!

This is our go to for comfort food. Honestly, best chicken noodle soup in Chicago. Dirty rice, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac n cheese are all really good, too. Just wish they were open on Sunday, it's the perfect food for a lazy Sunday cuddling on the couch binging a TV series or watching movies.

5 stars for the Chicken soup though! Love the bowtie pasta in it. The chicken is okay, it could be a little crispier for my taste, the mac and cheese is stove top, the green beans were bland. The "hot sauce" is medium salsa

Grilled chicken heaven! Reasonable prices, delicious food. Theres also a salad bar. I had the grilled chkn caesar wrap $8.26 after tax. The wrap was huge & meat was moist & had good flavor. They also do catering. Will definitely be back!

This used to be my GO TO PLACE. I still really enjoy them, but I feel like things have changed. There are new people and they aren't nearly as friendly anymore. But I will say this is a great place to get some great food, inexpensive and quick! I loooove the salad bar! Always fresh, and if you want hot chicken they will cut some up for you. There are plenty of options, I just wish they would bring back the raspberry vinaigrette!

It has been more than four years since my last review of CW&SC, and little has changed. Chicken is wonderful, the skin is scrumptious, the chicken is always moist and tasty. The sides are always homemade tasty, and the staff is kind and courteous, with very little turnover (tells me they are being treated well by management/owners, and that the taste will remain consistent). Good eats for the money. Thrilled to have the place in our neighborhood.

Their chicken breasts are amazing. Mouth watering! I've been going here for like ten years, I think. The salad bar has a big variety of items. A bunch of proteins. Different greens. Peppercini. I love the chipotle dressing. Love both the bbq sauce and The salsa for the chicken. All staff is always very sweet.

There's a reason this place is celebrating ten years in Irving Park! I've been going since the beginning and the food and service have always been top notch. Chicken is always perfectly cooked and the sides on point.

Literally? The best chicken I've ever had in my life. Homemade barbecue sauce, fresh chicken ALWAYS. Very welcoming and warm environment. Owner is mad cool. Going to make an honest effort to go here every time I'm in the chi. The Baklava was on par!!

Random stop. Absolutely amazing. I got the "works chicken wrap" I added extra cheese. It was not small wrap! 10/10! Today hit the spot. Hubby got a salad from the salad bar and a huge chunk of warm chicken on top. We ordered the chicken chili which was really good, we were just too full to really appreciate it.

Great food, very fresh and full of flavor. I come here frequently to grab the chicken dinner for my family. The chicken is great and love the homemade sides. Salad bar is very fresh. Love the homemade as salsas as well. Only thing is I wish is that it was a tad bit more affordable or that more chicken was added to the family meals.

BYOB? Check. Clean place? Check. Fast and easy? Check. Quality food yet inexpensive? Check. Kick ass chicken? Double check. Chicken works can fly under your radar because its just some place on some street. However, when you stop by you will realize that you have been missing out and you will wish you had been there sooner. I was reluctant to go to this place because my husband suggested it and raved about it. To be honest the man only eats chicken, so how can I take him seriously? But than again doesn't that mean he is a chicken expert? So he pulled my leg (get it?) and we went there. So glad we did because it was fantastic. First of the service of the staff is amazing. They make sure to be very inviting and cater to you. On to the food I go. They have a great DIY salad bar and a few platters and sandwiches. I opted for the chicken pita sandwich and it was amazing. When i first got the sandwich I got upset because I thought the chicken to lettuce ratio was disproportional but I was wrong, it was the other way around. So whether you order to go or dine in, you wont be disappointed. They are constantly cooking chicken so your food is always going to be fresh. Make sure to eat it with their sweet and sour sauce. Its fingerlicking good. Come on in and enjoy your meal, you shall not be disappointed my fellow yelpers.

I didn't eat here, so I can't comment on the food. However, when I walked in I noticed that they were placing the cooked chicken on top of the RAW chicken. I am only saying this because that can seriously make someone sick!

I've enjoyed going here since it opened. You can make your own salad with a variety of ingredients. Their chicken wrap is very tasty and so are their chicken meals and sides. Their sauces are also great. Would recommend this place.

Four stars for chicken? Yep! You better believe it. I was very satisfied with my food. I'd been meaning to come here for a while so, in a spate of being so busy I had no time for grocery shopping, I came here for a to-go lunch. I don't get to Irving Park as much as I should. So, when I called the restaurant to see where it was (I had just crossed Elston), I realized that I was parked in front of it. Oy. The set-up is similar to a Boston Market or some such. There's a big board with a ton of selections and copy. There's a big salad/condiment area with a ton of selections. There are a couple of workers who look alternatively pissed and bored. Yep. This is the real stuff. After a quick perusal, the manager took my order. I got the quarter chicken special (dark meat, natch). This was three pieces of chicken, pita, side (mashed potatoes and gravy), and large, no-ice carbonated lemonade FOR UNDER SIX DOLLARS!! Holla! ... no stoppin' me. Copywritten, so don't copy me... Sorry. It's a natural reflex to start quoting Missy whenever I scream, "HOLLA!!!" This food was so good, I kept screaming it! The chicken was juicy, flavorful and came with two sauces. One was a sweet bbq and the other was a crunchy salsa. Both tasted great on the chicken, but I favored the salsa with the pita. The mashed potatoes were handmade. They were properly lumpy and had plenty of real potato chunks in it. The gravy was just the right consistency. I devoured my meal. For cheap, healthy-ish fast food, I don't know if you can do better.

After a pretty stressful day I stopped by Chicken Works because I love chicken. I love a well prepared chicken and having it chargrilled and marinated well that will pick my day up anytime. I got the soup and sandwich special and then got mac and cheese as well since all their sides are homemade. It does take a little time since they're cooking the chicken when ordered. The pita was tasty, maybe not so healthy with the mayo they put on it but at the point that it hit my lips I didn't really care too much about it. The soup: chicken and rice that bland, diner staple was really good, with the cream texture not drowning out the decent chicken pieces in there. The mac and cheese though, was just okay, but from the looks of the other customers the dirty rice is the side dish to get.

Whenever I am in the mood for healthy and simple, their chicken works wrap hits the spot. I get it without cheese and they don't put much bacon in it. Ton of chicken. Ask for sauce on the side or you will end up with a soggy wrap if it's takeout.

Came here thanks to the recommendation of a friend. So this is a place i can't say "I've been coming here for years". I came here for lunch today and boy was I not let down! 1/2 chicken, pita bread, 2 sides....i went with the mashed potatoes and dirty rice! how much?? $7.85 wow! The portion I got for lunch was amazing! so much food! I for sure would one day get the FULL chicken and sides for a few bucks more and have a ready to go meal the next day! The menu is pretty basic but you do actually have many options. Chicken is the big thing (whole, half or quarter) Pita sandwiches, wraps. great side options too. I will be back!! It had a good crowd in line today.....i kinda felt like i was in the Seinfeld episode of "The Soup Nazi"

Remember when I first reviewed Chicken Works and gave it four stars? I was just kidding. This place deserves five stars. I absolutely love the Chicken Works Wrap, their Mac and Cheese and their Pasta Salad. I get cravings for this stuff! I still wish they were open on Sundays, but there's not much I can do about that. Highly recommend!

We get delivery here all the time and its amazing. Juicy and tender chicken that is unreal. Also, pair it with some of the best mac and cheese, and you are set.
