Revisit These 9 Houston Area Spots Featured in Netflix’s Hit Show ‘Mo’

"The Heights’ location of this New York-born Chickn’ Cone is now closed, but you can still relive some Mo moments at its Sugar Land outpost. Order a waffle cone topped with crunchy fried chicken, and don’t forget to choose a sauce: Options range from its best-selling, zesty Kickn’ Ranch to a spicy South African peri-peri chili sauce and its “cinna-maple” chicken and waffle syrup." - Brittany Britto Garley

Since Chick'nCone is located in a site with a history of failed businesses, we wanted to visit rather sooner than later. Nothing lasts more than a few months here. Our experience wasn't encouraging that history won't repeat itself. . The service was excellent. The cashier guided us through the choices, answering our noob questions graciously. The food came out quickly as well. . However, the food wasn't great. The fries were meh, even lightly coated with Cajun seasoning. They were lukewarm and lacking crispness. For the first time in a while, I didn't finish them. . The chicken in a waffle cone is a tender cut into roughly inch-long pieces. The coating on the tender somehow both lacks seasoning and drains the tender of chicken flavor. If it weren't for the sauce, there'd be no flavor. . I had the Yella BBQ, which was pretty much a honey mustard. My wife had the Kick'nRanch which was mildly kick'n and not Ranch. . The cones were nice, almost crunchy but not yet stale. They are sweet, so sweet. . My fountain lemonade was great. . Of course, there was the "how much do you want to tip" strongarm when completing the purchase. I'll be glad when that is banned. . Overall, this was OK but not good, especially considering it was $28+.

I got the Chicken bowl which is a bowl of fries, Mac n cheese, chicken pieces and a sauce of your choice. I chose the yella BBQ sauce which was a mustardy-BBQ sauce. There are many other sauce options- however lots of them are spicy (I'm not good with spice). The flavor was decent, though I do not think it was worth the cost. The milkshake was pretty good and even had bits of waffle cone in it. It gave it a good texture. The customer service was excellent!! Emely was very kind from the start and patiently explained the different food options and even allowed us to sample some of the sauces in small sauce containers before deciding on a sauce.

As a food critic I must say the customer service was wonderful and very respectful, fast and with open arms. However I can say the food was not what I expected. The cone was a cone, but the chicken it's self was not good at all. We were very excited to try this place out, but sadly the food was not worth the trip. Maybe there's other items to try on their menu. I rate 1/10 for the item I ordered.

I have worked there so I know. It's trush. Unhealthy. I had to leave and on top of it, they were refusing to pay me the days I worked. I had to take action before I got paid and on top of it, took them 2weeks plus to pay me. It is falsely advertised.. FYI you didn't lay me off. You REFUSED TO PAY ME MY MONEY I WORKED FOR AND ON TOP OF ALL THAT WAS PLAYING WITH MY HOURS. LOL LAY ME OFF. GOOD ONE. THATS WHY YPU ARE CLOSED DOWN. GOD DONT LIKE UGLY

Our service was excellent but I do not agree when it comes to the food. We got our order to go. Firstly, the kids' meal does not include fries. The picture for ordering doesn't explain this well because the assumption is that, like any other restaurant, it would be included. A suggestion is for the cashier to make this known verbally when a guest orders. It comes with a dole fruit cup, two tenders and a boxed apple juice. The Chick'nbowl was very misleading. The picture on the menu showed more fries in the bowl than it actually was. It was full of macaroni and cheese, so much that it was wasted and was most of the food in the bowl. The picture showed more chicken and fries. The two slushes we tried, one being a pina colada flavor and a blue flavor, tasted the same and were very sweet. We also tried a cone and it was okay.

The thing that upset me most is the Kids Meal said you get a side, but then they charged me $1.00 for the fries and the other kids they charged me $1.00 for corn. I asked the lady up front about the $1.00 charges and she said the kids meal only comes with the fruit cup. The sign above does NOT say a fruit cup only. It just says a side. Also the chicken was cold.

I had the chicken'cone (awesome) before and wanted to give try something different on the menu and got the chickn'sandwish with the peri peri sauce (the hottest sauce of the menu) and the mac cheese on the side. I was not disappointed. It was really good. I recommend this location and the plus they have a great service.
