Baker Street’s ‘Guilt-Free’ Chik’n Will Relaunch Following Departure of Investors | Eater London

"Launched in July of last year as a self-styled 'guilt-free' fast-food fried-chicken concept by chef-restaurateur Carl Clarke and partner David Wolanski, this spot aimed to be an independent, healthier alternative to nearby chains like KFC, McDonald’s and Itsu. It attracted a loyal following but had to close temporarily just a fortnight after opening because of unexpected demand; the founders describe the initial run as a 'loud, noisy experiment' in which many things worked and some didn’t. After the recent departure of the former CEO Darren Gardner and other management changes, the duo say they now have the freedom to relaunch the restaurant in a form that better reflects their original vision: bolder in attitude, focused on top-quality ingredients, flavours and people, and presented in a quicker, more accessible format derived from their sit-down concept to suit customers short on time or budget." - Adam Coghlan

Right in the heart of Pittsburgh University campus, the long awaited visit to this spot did not disappoint. I fully understand what they got going on. The chicken is just good and you can get it anyway….from southern to really hot, nuggets, tenders or sandwich ….modern menu , very simple. Worth visiting at least once.

I was excited to try this place, cuz who doesn't like some good chicken as my friends said. Finished, walked out and the feeling of wanting to throw up began and lasted for 2h. I just got the hot sandwich and Mac and cheese on the side, will try the tenders next time but God damn that was some sorry excuse for a burger. The first bite tastes great, and the chicken slaps. Then you keep eating and you realize, damn this is terrible. Tried finishing it but I left 2 bites, same with the Mac.

The woman working the register was kind and attentive. The people behind in the kitchen were kind as well. The food was very good as I was eating it. I don’t eat fast food more than 3-4 times a month and hadn’t had anything greasy for a minute, but I remember thinking how good it was! About 50 minutes later , it made me kind of sick even though it was so so good :( I don’t know if it was my stomach or the chicken but it was immediate. it makes me sad because I have leftovers I want to eat but I don’t know if it’s the best idea. I got the medium spice tenders and fries with ranch. The ranch is good as well as the pickles and fry seasoning. I can handle spice very well I eat it frequently. I don’t believe the stomach sickness was from spice. No complaints just that my stomach hurt after eating it.

Ordered take out on a Friday night. Food was made very quickly and nothing was forgotten! Food was good but didn’t travel well, would’ve been better eaten fresh in the restaurant. We got the chicken and waffles and tenders with mild seasoning. The tenders were very good. We got banana pudding for dessert, I would not get it again but it was okay. The employees were helpful.

Google
They have the nastiest macaroni that I have ever tasted. Don’t waste your time. Atmosphere and employees are nice. They also play good music. Chicken and waffles are also good but the macaroni made me physically ill.

Google
Really good chicken shop. I can’t comment too much about their spicy chicken varieties but I’ve heard those are very good. I did get to try their Southern chicken tenders with their in house sauce and their ranch as well as their chocolate chip cookies. The chicken itself was very good. Breaded nicely. Still a nice, tender texture on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Southern wasn’t spicy at all, which is what I wanted. The two sauces were pretty good too. Ranch was relatively standard but tasty. I’m not sure if it’s made in house but props to them if it is. The other sauce was also pretty solid, a bit sweeter, a bit strange, but still good. I had originally ordered the banana pudding, but they were out, so they gave me 2 chocolate chip cookies instead. Generous of them! The cookies were very good, a great size, and filled with plenty of chocolate. Great price, portion, and quality. All in all, I’d come back here. Very tasty chicken and nice desserts for a reasonable price. I believe they may even have milkshakes, which would be great to try.

Google
The chicken tenders legit made me cry. I got the chicken tenders with the hot spice level, which was a big mistake. The spice rub on the hot chickens was excruciatingly hot and made my tongue burn and numb for a long time. I literally had to chug water every time. I took a bite. The tenders itself were nice and moist. I’ll definitely be back, but this time I’ll order the mild or medium hot. My friend got the waffles and chicken, and those were pretty good too according to him.

Google
My husband and I got tenders (southern heat) and mac and cheese. The chicken was some of the best fried chicken we've had, the mac was very good for "fast food." My husband also liked the banana pudding. Everyone was friendly enough, the only negative with this location is it could use a little cleaning. But overall, I would recommend this place to someone who hasn't been.

Yelp
OK fast fried chicken but was fairly dry, even with sauce, which you have to ask for - there isn't just a condiment area for sauces, etc. I got fairly spicy level but it was quite mild really, so overall not too great; probably wouldn't go again

Yelp
Phenomenal chicken! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu, from the tenders to the sandwiches. The tenders have a great coating to them. The medium spice level was perfect to me, a good kick, but not so much that you can't taste the good chicken. Their special sauce and ranch is also delicious!

Yelp
We stopped by on a whim on a Saturday night around 8pm to get out of the cold and wait for our table at Stack'd. There was no line and not a lot of people at CHiKN so we ordered some hot fries to share between the four of us right away. The fries, although nothing special, really hit the spot for us and we enjoyed them.

Yelp
Ordered the chicken and waffles, but with the syrup on the side as per my child's request. Was not a fan of the waffles they were very dense. Would not order again, but the chicken is very good and flavorful. Not much ambience to the place you order at the counter and there's a couple tables to sit and eat at the service was good and the person working the counter was very helpful. Oh and one small weird tidbit is they don't accept cash which I am not a fan of this cashless society , so that is why I'm giving it four stars instead of five!

Yelp
I've ate here a few times and I always get the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and it's literally to die for. There's literally nothing negative I could say about the sandwich it's perfect! Hits the spot every time pls try you don't be disappointed. Staffs always sweet too which is a plus.

Yelp
Everything is DELICIOUS and cooked to crispy perfection! This is where you go when you want to get the best chicken sandwich or chicken tenders you've ever had! Very nice employees, very clean and neat facility. Our favorite chicken hands down! 10/10!!!

Yelp
--Location/Parking-- Near downtown Pittsburgh there were street parking, but I saw a lot of the customers were walk into the location --Ambience-- Ambience was a college town fast food joint that gets a lot of traffic and seems to be known for their inexpensive food choice. Plastic seating and regular cafeteria lighting. Nothing out of the ordinary. --Service/Staff-- The staff was friendly and explained the level of "heat" you wanted on your chicken. I followed their advice and got the medium for the chicken. --Food/Products-- After seeing their menu. I was so excited to try their chicken. What I got was a burnt chicken that was really over salted. I had to wash it down with several cups of coke because it was so salty. The chicken skin was really burned, I had to tear it apart to make sure I was not eating any small bones. --Capacity-- Plenty of space to hold large parties if you don't mind the cafeteria space --Overall-- I won't be back because the chicken was not meaty. It was overly spiced, and the fries and chicken were really salty. If I didn't just get off the plane I would have looked for other choices.

Yelp
Located in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh just off the campus of University of Pittsburgh, CHiKN is a great fast casual option for cooked to order food. They advertise that they specialize in Nashville style hot chicken, but they have 5 spice levels ranging from Southern (no heat) to damn hot (described as "insane"), so it can be customized if you don't like things too spicy. I think 5 levels is just the right amount as some places go overboard with their range of sauces/rubs to vary tastes, so it keeps things simpler. What sets CHiKN apart is that they prepare your chicken item according to your requested spice level after you order, as they have a personal touch in preparation of the coating rather than just tossing sauce or rubs on it after the cooking process. Their menu consists of sandwiches, tenders, nuggets, chicken & waffles, sliders, salads, and a variety of sides & desserts. We went with the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and chicken & waffles, both with the medium heat level. I would give both a 4.5/5, as the recipes were high quality, with tender high quality chicken spiced just right. The waffles were not a consistency or texture I usually enjoy, but the unique recipe worked in tandem with the spiced chicken tenders to make for a delicious meal. Prices are a bit on the higher side, especially for a college area eatery, but quality is great and portion size more than ample to fill you up. Overall, I don't mind rounding up to 5 stars as CHiKN is probably one of the best fast casual restaurants I've been to in a while, and definitely one I'd frequent if they had a location near where I live.

Yelp
| Oakland- Pittsburgh, PA | CHiKN | @hotchikn Love when you can select your spice level to make sure your chicken is the perfect heat for you (and in my case, no heat at all). From SOUTHERN (no heat) to DAMN HOT (self explanatory). The chicken and waffles were sooo good. The waffles had a butter maple drizzle that made the waffles taste like a dessert but then paired with the savory juicy flavorful chicken it was a match made in heaven. The fries were seasoned to perfection and the sauce for the fries was like yum yum sauces successful cousin so my world was spinning. My portion was super filling and dare I say big enough to share. I left with a happy heart and full belly after clinical, so you can bet your bottom dollar it's #GOUDapproved CHiKN & WAFFLES Homemade Waffles served with Nashville Style Hand-Breaded Crispy Chicken Tenders, topped with Creamy Honey Butter & Maple Syrup Crinkle cut fries $13.25 (combo)

Yelp
Probably the best chicken spot I've been to Service great got the hottest chicken and the people were concerned for our safety

Yelp
You want to try some delicious Nashville Hot Chicken in Pittsburgh, this is the place to get it! I've had the hot spice level before and that is no joke at all! I had to kick it back to medium spice and it still had me sweating a bit. The chicken tenders are cooked and coated with the perfect amount of spice and crispiness. When you dip that delectable chicken strip into the comeback sauce - the flavor is fantastic! The crinkle cut fries they coat with a dusting of seasoning (I ate a few fries in the picture, but they give you a good amount). I love pickles and the comeback sauce so I always order extra sauce and pickles. I have ordered the 3 and 5 piece chicken tenders and the 3 piece is more than enough for me. These chicken tenders are pretty big, so if you're hungry go with the 5 piece! I order through toast and when you do, you might as well start heading out as soon as you place your order. No lie I have received notification within 1-2 minutes that my order is ready. When I arrive and walk to the register I see my bag and it is ready to go! Whenever I am in the office in Oakland and I am craving some delicious chicken tenders, Chikn is my go-to place for Nashville hot chicken!

Yelp
It is really good and the competition honestly is not close. I would place this above Cane's in terms of flavor and also above Layne's. It is a solid choice for southern style fried chicken strips. They are really bigger and juicier. They just need to fix the fountain machine dispensers sputtering as it's been an issue for a long time.

Yelp
Food: Delicious chicken sandwiches, beware the spice as it is real. Service: I ordered the "damn hot" chicken and the woman working the counter warned me that it was extremely hot, which is normal to hear when you order something hot. So she let me try a nugget before ordering my sandwich... It was too hot for me, so she saved me there, thankful for her letting me try it. Ambiance: It's fine, nothing special. It was clean when I was there Overall: Pretty good. Something I will enjoy again when eating lunch in Oakland. Beware the spice levels as they are not kidding.

Yelp
I love chicken, so CHiKN felt like the perfect place to go for a quick bite for lunch. The store is clean and feels like a nice place to dine in. We took our food to-go, and it's packaged in a really nice box. My bf and I ordered a bird dog, chicken sandwich, chicken and waffles, and chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were crispy and really big, but they were too salty for my liking. They would've been perfect if it weren't for the salt. It was still really nice to be able to adjust spice level and even medium was quite spicy. I can't imagine how the spiciest option would taste. The chicken and waffles were basically the same as the other chicken tenders we got, but with waffles. The honey butter that came with it was delicious, but sadly the waffles were too dry and crumbly. They fell apart too easily. Next time I might just order some chicken tenders and make my own waffles. The bird dog looked pretty promising, but the nacho cheese flavor ended up being too overpowering. Finally, the chicken sandwich was probably the best out of everything we got. The brioche bun was super soft and helped balance out the saltiness of the chicken inside. I really wanted to like CHiKN more, but I'm still down to give it another shot. I'll probably be back next time I'm craving a chicken sandwich and I'd really like to try some of the desserts here too.

Yelp
Food was good but the lady at the front was lowkey mean as hell. The music that they played was good though and the upstairs seating is cool.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
The chicken is fire, but the waffles taste like biscuit batter pressed in a waffle iron. I would recommend it more if they could change that one ingredient...make it like Belgian waffles (I think) the crispy ones that melt in your mouth!
google avatar

Tev W.

Yelp
CHiKN is a place that serves chicken fingers, nuggets, chicken & waffles combo, and more. Im on this chicken finger thing sice Pittsburgh has a few of them, so this is my 2nd review of one of them both sofar is from the Oakland area. CHiKN has two of them located in Oakland, actually. CHiKN is my favorite sofar. I'm planning on doing g a taste test of all of the Including long-time USA staples. I really like what they call Nashville Style Chicken fingers. They have 5 heat levels, Southern, Mild, Medium, Hot, Damn Hot! I choose medium and hot sofar. The chicken is coated and has a dry seasoning dusted over. It comes with comeback sauce that compliments the chicken well. The service at this address has been average, and it's pretty much what you'll find at most fast food spots. The ambiance is that of most college area spots filled with students and workers from the area.

Yelp
Decided to give this place another try. First went when it opened and wasn't impressed. Sadly, still the same result. I got the macdaddy, tenders, and we split a combo with another chicken sandwich. Spice level was fine at mild but it tasted way too much like salt. Every bite was an overwhelming amount of bad breading. The mac and cheese was good but had to pick off ones with the seasoning. Fries were just frozen and ok. My husband liked his hot level sandwich. I forced myself to eat half but was unbearable. Maybe they would be better with a sauce and not seasoning? Prices are too high as well. $12.50 for my sandwich and another $3.25 for the combo. I could maybe see paying $15 for a sit down place and having a server but not just a pickup counter. If you are able to find one, hot chicken takeover restaurant is 100 times better with a similar concept
google avatar

J F.

Yelp
The honey hot chicken sandwich was great. Plenty of heat and the sweet from the honey to round it out. I ordered cole slaw instead of fries and it was the worst I've ever had. No kidding, just shredded cabbage with zero sauce or seasoning. No problem, I'd usually deal with it but the meal was $14. Crazy price so I was hoping for it all to be good.

Sadia H.

Yelp
Is this Halal Chicken? Heard good things but only if it's Halal, we can enjoy it. The location in Nashville Tennessee is Halal

Z D.

Yelp
Food was extremely greasy and made all of us sick - not even close to Nashville chicken. The service was alright, slightly bothered to help. The ambiance was alright but a bit dirty, the tables are very low and not cleaned
google avatar

Jocelyn N.

Yelp
My fiancé and I have been meaning to stop in and try CHiKN and I wish we had sooner! The quality is far beyond traditional fast food. My fiancé had the chicken fingers, which I tried and they were so good. My chicken sandwich and mac and cheese were also great! The crinkle fries are perfect and their ranch and sweet tea are musts. I'd definitely recommend if you're a fan of southern favorites like Zaxby's or Bojangles, which we sadly don't have around here.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
Food was delivered and very quickly. The sandwich I got the Hot Honey Chicken with mild seasoning still had kick. Got fries and banana pudding. Pudding was rich and very sweet. Sandwich was huge and good flavor and fries were nothing special just crinkle cut with a lot of seasoning. I think I seen Mac and cheese and slaw as other sides. All said I would give 3.5 if I could...fries were ok but sandwich was stellar.
google avatar

Billy T.

Yelp
Very solid hot chicken - it was my first time ever eating it and I'd say it definitely met my expectations. Pricing was reasonable ($11/sandwich), if not a little bit on the high-end by Pittsburgh standards. There are different spiciness levels you can get and I'd say that medium was a perfect amount of spiciness for me.
google avatar

George B.

Yelp
First off the food was really really spicy. Typically I handle spice pretty well as I've had hot chicken in other places, but this place's spice level is off the charts. The staff didn't make an effort to tell us how spicy the food could be. The interior was decorated pretty well and a big reason why I went in the first place. Might need a break from hot chicken for a while.

David L.

Yelp
I've been a big fan of their chicken sandwiches (I get the southern level as I can't take too much spice). So liked it even more when they added the chicken sandwich deluxe (with lettuce and tomato). Now I'm even more excited as they added a chicken salad. It's their chicken over romaine with chopped celery and red pepper with Caesar dressing. Very good. One nitpick would be that it doesn't need the green beans. Overall a solid salad and I was impressed with the quality of the vegetables. Will be coming back again.

Jayna M.

Yelp
I ordered take out on a Saturday afternoon, and there was no line. It looked nice when I walked inside and I liked the casual ambiance. Chicken and waffles was okay, the waffles were too dry and didn't absorb anything. I got extra syrup and butter and thank god I did. It was a extra $1 for both two little containers of both. I got southern chicken and it was good but there wasn't enough flavor for me. the honey butter was amazing though. chicken and waffles 5/10 * the waffles brought it down so much the Mac n cheese was so good though, definitely worth a try. I Loved the seasoning and it was creamy. 8/10 so id come back but I wouldn't get the waffles again, it's okay for the price but I feel like there's better places in the Pittsburgh area
google avatar

Raghad ..

Yelp
okay chicken sandwiches like they're diff not the best but they're still good, the fries are mid. i can't handle anything above the mild, my friend (who's good w heat) couldn't take another bite of the damn hot.
google avatar

Shanice B.

Yelp
First time here, we arrived with several people waiting for their orders. It made us a bit apprehensive about staying, but we really wanted to try it out. Moving on-- our wait time was about 10-15 minutes for the food. Everything was lukewarm, but the flavor was good. Different kind of twist on the slaw, but it wasn't discouraging.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich was really good, everything else was okay/meh. The chicken sandwich came on a great bun, good coleslaw, pickles, and house sauce. I got medium spice level, which was a nice heat for me. The chicken itself was really flavorful, juicy, and crispy. Yummy. The fries were stale. The house sauce had way less flavor/tang than I was expecting. It was pretty pricy in my opinion $$$. We also left smelling SO strongly of oil, which didn't dissipate throughout the day at all.
google avatar

Shiv K.

Yelp
The most crispy, juicy fried chicken. Their dry rub has a hint of sweetness which makes the taste even better. I've had the sandwich and the chicken and waffles which are both delicious. My wife switches between the sandwich and the nuggets, both which she loves. We are also big fans of their fries & their sauce, we always ask for extra sauce since we go through it so fast. I get spice level 3 which is a bearable spice level for me. My wife gets 2 which she says is more bearable for her. Love this place! Probably my favorite place to eat in Oakland!
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place. It is essentially a fast food chicken place like chik-fil-A but better; the chicken fingers and nugs were more meat and less breading. Food was reasonably priced, prepared pretty quickly and the menu options were a la carte. The spice levels are essentially 1-5 (they have names for the levels though). I got a two and it wasn't too spicy. My friends got mild (or 1) and really like theirs. There is one sauce that we got with our chicken meals - not sure if there are more but I would have liked more options like chik-fil-A does.
google avatar

Lucile D.

Yelp
I am slowly working my way thorough all the spicy chicken sandwiches I can find. We got delivery for this meal, so it did have to travel. The bun was great and the chicken was juicy but not super crispy (again could have been the travel time). I got the sand which 'medium' which had a nice spice. I got nuggets in 'hot' and they were pretty darn hot, it was almost just a cayenne hot though, so not super flavorful. The sauce on the sandwich was delicious as was the bun; too marks for those. I got a side of slaw because I love slaw and often like to add more to the sandwich but it was kind of a let down. It had no flavor but vinegar. I love vinegar but not all alone with cabbage, it worked on the sand which because of the sauce and everything else, but as a side, not so much. I would definitely try again but wouldn't go out of my way.
google avatar

Jared C.

Yelp
Solid place. We gotten both the chicken strips and the sandwiches. Usually get a level 1 or 2. I will say the last time I went, I felt the chicken breading was too salty. I hadn't noticed this my other times eating here. I will definitely try it again- maybe it was just a bad batch? Still rating this high because I've loved it the other times The Mac and cheese is creamy goodness. It never disappoints.
google avatar

Abby A.

Yelp
I have been here several times and typically enjoy it. You either have your name called or receive a buzzer if you eat in, or your name is called for takeout. Different levels of heat (southern, mild, medium, hot, damn hot) though this seems to vary a bit between batches. Typically, I get medium but the most recent time there was a lot of extra seasoning and it hit more toward hot, so just something to keep in mind! Overall good food and atmosphere, though anticipate cost of $12-14 dollars per person for menu item and combo deal (drink and fries).

Kennice E.

Yelp
I don't know if it was the people/crew that used to work here or this place just hasn't been the same. Last year this place had the best chicken!! it's like the people that used to work here put their foot and elbow into that chicken!! from the juiciness to the seasoning to the perfect cook time. CHiKN was really good at a point of time. I miss it, I hope it can go back to how it used to be.

Yelp
So, I will keep this one short as the experience was much like Five Guys; minus the burgers and milkshakes. This place attempts to be the bastard love child that Popeyes and Five Guys never wanted. Don't worry people this child got its father's looks. What does that mean, it means the you don't go "medium"'on the spicy level because it's likely too hot for most people. When I asked the staff they warned me to not go above medium, because once you get past hot, your colon won't enjoy it all that much. Chicken Sandwich Here it goes, the sandwich was spicy and the slaw was complimentary, however, the damn thing was missing the zest I'm accustomed to getting in a chicken sandwich. Realistically, I can make this sandwich for less than 9 dollars and it needs another dimension to it. Was it ok? Sure, but it failed to be memorable. 6.1/10 Fries Someone went to Portland Maine and discovered Old Bay or something because the fries and chicken sandwich smelled like the lObStER rOlL I have when I eat a crab roll! Made no sense and the fries were an atrocity. You ONLY give children accordion crinkled fries when you need some in a quick pinch. 2.4/10 Macaroni and Cheese Was above average but I've had much better. Was it memorable? Nah 7/10 Overall, the place is clean and the employees are great! They also have Coke Products and a clean bathroom. 6.2/10

Yelp
The guy who was very frustrated to say "Fuck Off" when the restaurant was full. I mean why work so much that u are yelling fuck off to customers. I like this place and chicken tenders are amazing but this behavior is not accepted.
google avatar

Chantal H.

Yelp
This is a great choice for a fast casual meal if you like hot chicken. We got the chicken sandwich (hot) and the tenders (medium) there was quite a difference in the heat levels which I really appreciate. The prices here are great value for the amount of food you're getting in my opinion, both of our meals were generously sized. The sandwich was definitely our favorite of the two - comes on a great bun, coleslaw was delish, so was the house sauce. We did think everything was a touch too salty, but that's just personal preference. We got the fries and the Mac and cheese as sides, I'd pass on the Mac and cheese in the future - it wasn't very flavorful but the fries were good. Think it's way better option for a quick meal than a fast food option, service was great and quick.
google avatar

Marie B.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich is really big so come hungry! I got the hot chikn sandwich and it was pretty good, I think they used a dry rub to get the chicken sandwich to be hot because it was kinda dry and not spicy wet lol. The fries were good but they do intensify the spiciness of the sandwich so good luck! I was they had mustard :(

Yelp
My husband and I went to CHiKN on Friday night after I saw an ad on Instagram. We were sold after looking up the menu and reading reviews. CHiKN is a fast-casual type place, where you place your order at the counter (cards only, no cash!), then they bring your tray to your table. The spice level is your choice from 0-4. I got level 1 and my husband got 2. We made one of our meals a combo, which for $3 extra, came with seasoned crinkle-cut fries and a fountain drink. Our food was so yummy! We both ordered tenders (I ordered 3 and my husband 5). The portions were huge. The level 1 chicken was very flavorful with minimal spice. Almost a smoky/sweet heat, as I would describe it. The level 2 tasted quite different with a good level of spice that didn't make our noses run. I think I would get level 2 next time because I enjoyed the spice! The chicken is served with a sauce as well that toned down the spice a bit, but you really didn't need it because of how much flavor is in the tenders! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will 100% be back soon!

Yelp
There aren't many options but what they have is: GOOD! Each time I've gone here, I get the chicken tenders. The first time was at Medium and while I had been warned, they were a little too hot for me. The next time I went, I got Mild and it was nice to be able to taste the flavoring of the batter along with some spice. In my opinion, anything higher than Medium, you only got spice and no flavor. The chicken is white meat and tastes fresh. The sauce they give you is delicious; in fact, I can't eat the chicken without it! They do a have bar here if you're looking for some alcohol or beer which is definitely different from other places in Oakland. It has less of a bar vibe and more of fast good vibe. Aside from the food and drinks, the vibe in here is super chill and young. Hip-hop was playing each time I went in. As you can imagine, this is a spot for college students. There's lower level seating as well as seating upstairs. If you look on the walls, there are not only outlets, but outlets with USB ports. Simple and genius, ya'll. They know who they're trying to attract, and I'm a fan!

Yelp
OMChikin! I don't even care that we were the oldest people in the joint. There's no age limit for hot chicken! Absolutely the best hot chicken in Pittsburgh. Hands down! The Stack'd folks certainly know what they're doing with this place. Shared a sandwich and fries with my boyfriend. We got medium heat which would be comparable to hot elsewhere. The chicken was juicy, tender and full of flavor. Slaw on the side instead of on sammy as that's how I prefer it. Pickles are crisp and tasty. Crinkle cut fries, my fave, cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back. I'm in love!

Yelp
Had heard good things about Chikn but hadn't ever been. We ordered through DoorDash and the prices seemed pretty reasonable. The food was insanely good! Never had a waffle that was so fall apart in your mouth. The southern style chicken was also delicious with a sweet hint of flavoring on it. I'll order again for sure.

Yelp
Awesome place to grab fried chicken! I haven't tried everything here, but I'll leave a quick review of what I have. Overall great quality and pretty cheap. Sandwich: Great! Make sure to get it with the sauce and coleslaw, one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Tenders: Honestly could take or leave them but some people swear by them Nashville Hot Fries: By far my favorite thing to order on the menu. Great value, too. Fries: Hit or miss, tend to get cold and soggy quickly so wouldn't order them to go.

Yelp
I was craving a chicken sandwich so we stopped at Chickn. We placed our order online and picked it up about 15 minutes later. I ordered the mild chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the hot one (I'm not sure which level). We also ordered some fries. The sandwich was huge! You definitely get your money's worth. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. It definitely filled my craving. I will definitely be back to CHiKN to try some other menu items out.

Yelp
Ordered here a few times on DoorDash and it's hit or miss. How are you going to be named chikn and NOT give someone the chicken with their chicken and waffle order? Didn't stop me from trying again though on another day and I finally got the chicken and it's delicious! Would recommend but maybe go in to make sure your order is correct, don't DoorDash it
