"Chinese-Korean counter Chiko first opened in Barracks Row in 2017, marking the first of several successful restaurants from chefs Scott Drewno and Danny Lee’s The Fried Rice Collective. Now, with five fast-casual Chikos in D.C., Virginia, Maryland, and California, its first full-service outpost is ready to roll. The 3,000-square-foot space in Sterling, opening in mid-November, features a full bar and patio. The new space will combine all of its location-specific menus, plus offer fun new menu items. The latest store will also continue to maintain the positive working environment the brand is known for." - Emily Venezky

This is some of the best food I've had in my life. That's not hyperbole. They have a limited selection of dishes - of bowls, to be specific - of Chinese-Korean fusion. However, each one is entirely different from each other; there's plenty of variety within the limited selection. The Spicy Bulgogi Rose is extraordinary. So is the smashed salmon. And the lamb. And the coconut dessert. Just pick whatever you feel like and you'll probably enjoy it. Staff is great and friendly, and the portions are deceptively large, don't be surprised if you have leftovers.

Absolutely amazing food and service! Especially for a restaurant that just opened up a few weeks ago. The co-owner came out to ensure our food was as expected and the wait staff was very well trained. The fried rice, wings, and dumplings were all sensational! Highly recommend visiting this establishment for a great Asian cuisine experience.

Chiko is the restaurant that Loudoun County has been begging for, for years! A cool, hip vibe and delicious combination of flavors on classic dishes served with a modern twist. The staff is friendly and engaging, ready to explain the subtle nuances of the menu very well. The prices are very fair and the portion size is generous for what you would come expect in Loudoun. Chiko is a welcome addition to the new revamp of Cascades Marketplace along with the already established Local Provisions with more restaurants to come!

Food is good! Service is great! Wish their menu had more options. The chicken appetizer rolls are so good.

CHIKO in Potomac Falls is seriously awesome! The service was amazing—super friendly, fast, and just good vibes all around. The staff made us feel right at home and even gave some great recommendations, which totally paid off. You can tell they actually care about making sure you have a great time, and that makes all the difference. Now, the food? Insane. The House Fried Rice was crazy flavorful, with that perfect smoky wok taste. The Korean Garden Noodles were packed with veggies and had the best chewy texture. The Double-Fried Chicken Wings were next-level crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in the most delicious sauce. And don’t even get me started on the Garlic Shrimp Dumplings—so garlicky, so juicy, just ridiculously good. Every bite was a win, and we’re already planning our next visit!

We're so excited to see a new restaurant in this shopping center! The decor is beautiful and eye-catching. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Lots of parking spaces in a shared lot with other restaurants along with street parking nearby. Eating at restaurants is always a challenge as an individual with food allergies, the woman working at the front (I assume was the manager) was extremely helpful in assisting me with items that would be safe for me to consume. The food smelled and looked amazing, but we felt it was lacking in flavor. We could taste an excess of oils but not as many spices and seemed very bland overall. Since we visited on opening weekend I'm trying not to judge too harshly as everything has some bugs when starting out.

Yelp
I have not been to the DC locations but I have dined at the Bethesda location. I am a sucker for all foods that are Asian and Asian fusion. The highlight of this place was definitely the food. The service was not ideal as our server didn't check on us and we had to look for her or any server when we needed assistance. I am not sure if they are short staffed. But it seemed like the hostess and our server wasn't very proactive. The place did get packed quickly. There is a bar with surrounding seating. I expected more seating inside like the Bethesda location. I think they could fit in a couple more tables. Food was good. My kids loved the kids buttered noodles, and the kids crispy chicken and tots dishes. They devoured the lightly fried chicken which was very tender that I wanted to steal their food. My husband and I liked their cumin lamb stir fry. It was flavorful and had all the right balance of spices. The green beans were also very good, though I think it was drenched in too much sauce, which was fine with me because we took home the leftovers and mixed the extra sauce with noodles. My husband likes chilled peanut noodles and the one here made him a fan. I did find it odd how the portion sizes of the dishes that we ordered were almost all the same. It didn't matter if it was from the kids menu, small plates, or entrees. It was relatively all the same sizes. The only difference were the prices. We would come back for the food.

Yelp
It's only 4 stars because I have limited experience. Upon further engagement with this establishment, it may go up to 5. Got 2 small plates -- Chicken Spring Rolls with a Chinese Mustard Aioli and Pork and Kimchee Pot Stickers. Both were fabulous and were certainly enough to share for two people. Aaron behind the bar -- which is where you place takeout orders -- was great. Attentive, helpful, and enthusiastic. They're a little pricey, but what isn't these days? I will be going back.

Yelp
New place. Food looked better than taste. Skimpy on meat. I had the clay pot. Just ok. Expected more. I am hoping it's just opening week issues. I would go to other Korean restaurants first.

Yelp
Opening day chaos! Folks standing in line waiting for things to open. Tasty looking menu which is designed to share. The name Chiko stands for Chinese Korean. Unlike other places that have korean dishes there are no complimentary panchon. Rather those side are purchased individually.... Also their options have a unique spin. We started with the full Monty as we couldn't decide on which of the marinated sides to try. Hubby really likes the cold mushroom salad.. the cucumber for him was a bit tooo spicy but I really liked... kimchi made in house but not a fan as more vinegary than chili... the eggs are a nice taste and unique... daikon is daikon... the rice has a interesting crunch due to the compound butter added in. Tonight because it's opening... everyone got complimentary chicken dumplings... really tasty... we also ordered the pork kimchi dumplings. I liked those but hubby thought filling a bit dense for his taste. The sauce on the chicken dumplings is the sauce also served on the shrimp dumplings... note sauce in bottom of the bowl with dumplings on top. I'd probably ask to have this deconstructed as I don't like my dumplings to soak up a lot of sauce... I'd rather dip! For our main we shared the Spicy Bulgogi Stir Fry which consisted of Rice Cakes, shaved marinated Ribeye, Gochujang, Mushrooms. I didn't ask questions which I should have... this option is heavy on the rice cakes... in case it matters those rice cakes are cylinders versus my preference which are sliced.... Enjoyed these recipes for the most part but found everything to be on the sweet side. I did talk to the manager as I was leaving... she commented that everything is made to order so can be adjusted for food preferences. Also menu same thru out the day with the exception of any specials as those differ between lunch and dinner. We had way more than the two of us could eat so we got everything packaged to go. Note. While they normally do takeout they hadn't yet started that due to today being opening. Yes they gave a full bar... also desert but were too full to even look at the menu!

Yelp
Before I get into my review, I will preface: it was a super windy evening when I went, and as a result, the power kept going out for the duration of my experience. This was by no means the restaurant's fault, just an unfortunate recurring thing during the evening! That being said, despite the power outages, the staff was so great. They were very accommodating and apologetic to all of their customers. The service was obviously slow due to the power outages, but I give them so much grace. Besides this little mishap, the food here was really great! I got the jjajangmyeon, and while it was a little too ginger-y for my liking, and the black bean sauce was way too much, I still thought it was pretty good. And if there were a bit more of shrimp and scallops in the dish, it would've been absolute perfection! Others in my party were satisfied with their meals as well. They ordered the spicy bulgogi stir fry and the soy bean brisket. No complaints there. Both dishes were thought to be phenomenal!!! As for the drinks, I came here coincidentally during their happy hour. Their drinks were so good! I'm eager to come back and try more things off of their menu. I recommend this to others!

Yelp
The service was awesome and attentive, Aaron is such a great and upbeat bartender and makes amazing drinks. I really liked the Yuja Crush, super delicious. He's so cute and handsome! Will come back soon.

Yelp
Food: Delicious! Servings are large so you can share. Service: Outstanding. Friendly, fun and care about your experience. Ambiance: Fun, fresh and simple. Can't wait for patio to open on the roof! Great place, give it a try!

Yelp
The food was good and the fusion of flavors worked so well that it is a flavor of surprise in each dish. Friendly staff and attentive. Dining area has a good vibe.

Yelp
We used to live by the Capitol Hill location so I've been very much looking forward to the new Cascades outpost of Chiko. They opened last week and normally I give it time for some kinks to work out but it's Valentine's Day and we wanted something casual, quick, and early for our 10 month old. Everyone was so welcoming and lovely! We were there very early for dinner but they were maybe half full, hoping they get busier and their business thrives because everything was incredible. We had the cumin lamb stir fry, bulgogi, shrimp spring rolls, strawberry pannacotta and the sichuan pear cocktail. Everything was amazing, the lamb was the star of the show. It's served with hand pulled noodles with incredible wok flavor. The bulgogi was a bit sweet for my liking but everything else about it was awesome. Can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes. EXTREMELY kid friendly, tons of parking, great kids menu, high chairs, and the warmest staff.

Yelp
Food and service were amazing! Pictured is the Smashed Salmon. We also got the Fried Rice and the Dolsot Bibimbap which were all great. Portions are a good size (you will definitely have leftovers). Highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
I like the creative menu and the flavors are pretty good. The umami egg was phenomenal, and the sauce for the spicy bulgogi stir fry was good although a little too sweet and not enough spice. Unfortunately there was almost no actual bulgogi meat and it was nearly all tteokbokki. Same with the seafood noodles, tiny pieces of seafood and tons of noodles made soggy by wayyyy too much sauce. And we walked out spending $60 without even drinking anything but water. For those prices we could go get unlimited meat at the hotpot place with healthier options and better sauces.

Yelp
Had the pork belly, chicken spring roll and fried chicken wings, all were tasty and really good. We had it along side with sampler and meal was awesome. Will definitely be back to try out the other items

Debbie S.

Yelp
The GM, Wiley was so personable and explained everything we needed to know. His recommendations were spot on - shrimp dumplings melted in your mouth; spicy Bulgogi was a big hit along with the Orange-ish Chicken!! I had the Bobimbap (sp?) and the super-hot bowl crisped the rice and the meat, rice, veggies all melded together for a superb flavor. Ended the meal with the chocolate peanut butter cake pops - can you say heavenly??? And we tried a shot of the Peach Soju (learned from watching the occasional Korean show on TV) - dangerous delicious stuff. Goes down so easily and before you know it, the alcohol kicks in and you are floating!!

Yelp
It was our first time dining here, and we were blown away! The pork dumplings were delicious, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Our main dishes were not only generously portioned but also packed with amazing taste. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. We'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
The staff was very attentive and friendly. They operated well despite suffering a power outage. My family enjoyed the food and you could tell the other patrons were enjoying themselves too. We will return to try more.
