A cozy and lowkey spot perfect for a mellow outing or a tranquil date. Today was our second time in and we ordered bistec a lo pobre and the pescado frito. Both were delicious! In addition to the amazing food there’s also a great selection of home made pastries for dessert or to take home. Servers were attentive and accommodating. Will be coming back! If you are thinking about it; do yourself a favor and check this place out! :)

Loved the service and the food!!! I had the “cazuela” a Chilean beef soup, it was delicious! Plus we tried the Chilean bread, cheese and beef empanadas plus for dessert, we had, “pastel de mil ohas”, a Chilean pastry. If you want to try the best Chilean empanadas and cuisine, Chilenazo is the place to go. Only downside is that it’s too small. I would love to take all my family there but we wouldn’t fit. Haha.

Went back again after so long for their empanadas. I ordered 6 of them $3.75 each; 2 of each with Spinach & cheese, Chicken & Beef. My mom & I both agreed that the ones with beef were the most flavorful! The other flavors were good too.. it's just we liked the beef ones the most. The salsa & chimicury sauce they gave us were tasty as well! Recommended to others 👍🏻☺️

Best Chilean restaurant outside of Chile lol Food was excellent and big portions. Service was impeccable. Good variety. Clean bathrooms. Guaranteed I’m coming back and I don’t even live in LA . If you like Chilean food I recommend you come here. And if you haven’t tried Chilean food come here and you will love it. Either way it’s a win!

Little spot with Chilean food. I was getting food to go and I loved the delicious smells inside when waiting for my food. Seems like they definitely specialize in Empanadas so it's a must have for me to try next time. I ordered the fish and chips to go. They were a little softer than I normally like my white fish and not as crunchy as I'd like but still very good. Comes with a red sauce and green sauce which was different than your traditional tartar sauce. They have daily specials and make their own fresh juices as well. They also make some cakes and have baked goods. Multiple options to do here!

Legit Chilean restaurant! Live music on Saturday nights. Empanadas and their baked goods are amazing. It’s in a strip mall and the space isn’t very big but they make up for it in their food. Also, the owner is a real cool guy.

Great spot! Food was really good. Service on point. Gave us a free dessert cause they were closing & had extras. Try the Pastel de Choclo. So good. Only a few places in So Cal serve this dish.

This is hands down my favorite spot in LA for authentic Chilean food. Every time I come here, it feels like a little piece of home. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, with Chilean TV playing in the background--it always brings a smile to my face. The food is incredible. I can't get enough of the pastel de choclo, the empanadas de pino, and their pan amasado--everything tastes homemade and full of flavor. Honestly, I come here every chance I get because the food is just that good. Plus, the prices are very reasonable, which makes it even better! What makes this place even more special is the people. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, they make you feel like family. On my birthday, the owner surprised me with a cake and sang "Cumpleaños Feliz" to me--it was such a sweet and unforgettable moment. Oh, and I have to mention the parking--it's free, which is a big deal in LA and just one more reason this place is so great. If you're craving real Chilean food or just want a cozy place to enjoy a great meal, you have to check this place out. I promise, you won't regret it!

Came here for the Empanadas. Parking can be hit or miss. Located in a small plaza with a lot of businesses. Best advice is get here early. I ordered the Beef and Chicken Empanadas. The outer crust was incredible. Just like my aunt makes em. The meat on both was fresh and absolutely delicious. The size of each empanada was very filling. They give you two different types of sauces. I like em plain. The dining area is pretty good sized. I ordered them to go. But will absolutely dine here in the future. They have digital menus and flat screen TV's that were playing soccer games. The wall decor will full of Chilean photos. I'd highly recommend them. The last thing is the place was very clean and sterile and service was great.

My coworkers and I wanted to give this place a try for lunch, but maybe ordered the wrong plate. This is supposed to be a Lomo Saltado but it's more like a "Salty Lomo". Not a great experience- at least this dish did not hit. We were all hungry at the end and couldn't finish our food due to all the sodium taking over :( Wouldn't recommend this dish!

Food was excellent not at all greasy flavorful. I tried to empanadas and I also got a giant tamale that I swore weighed 2 pounds. Set friends there that evening and they enjoyed it too. I'll be back.

Amazing food! Came here because I have a cold and was fed like a queen. I will definitely come again. The big plus is that they have a super clean bathroom which is so important to me. The service was great and the ambiance was lovely. This is my new go to place.

Best empanadas in LA! Also they have excellent Latin American Food (not Mexican) They also have pastries and high quality wines.

I love empanadas so decided to try 2 at this Chilean restaurants. They have baked ones with beef, chicken, seafood or spinach. The fried ones have cheese with ham, jalapeños, mushroom or shrimp. I bought a chicken one (has onions) and a beef one (has olives and egg) which had a good baked crust and savory. They also have a case full of pastries but I did not try any. Similar to other businesses in this shopping center, I recommend avoiding eating in during peak hours as there is limited parking.

Food is delicious and service is fast and friendly. A great surprise to find while roaming around for breakfast after a hike at Rocky Peak. We were there for breakfast; they serve great bread and jalapeno salsa as a starter. And the sopaipillas con palta were excellent. I've leaving with some great patries, and with definitely be back for empanadas and pollo saltado!

I called into this store for a full half an hour before they closed, and they refused to answer their phones. I walked in 15 mins before they close and they still wouldnt serve me. What bunch of horse crap. Avoid this place. The owner, girl with curly hair, is egotistical and pompous

This is a cozy place if you are looking for a sit down place that has great food and nice atmosphere. First time trying the the cazuela, but love the dish. Would recommend to anyone !

Ok I am from Chile so I desired to go to chilenazo I just went there and order a lomo saltado got home after driving a little distance looking forwards to eat that lomo saltado Let me tell you it was the worsted lomo saltado I ever had the fries were old and cold and hard the meat was hard as well no seasoning at all I wonder if they gave me and old dish Horrible !! I had lomo saltado in a Peruvian restaurant in Reseda not even compare to this crap

This review is purely about the empanadas. Was craving them for too long and forgot I've been wanting to check this place out. Luckily, the two objects of desire converged while running an errand in the area. Got six empanadas - chicken (2), beef, ham-and-cheese (2), and one spinach. It wasn't my first time enjoying Chilean empanadas, but I feel like this was the first set of pastries that emphasized the egg in the filling. A nice touch. And so was that green salsa. Think the chicken and spinach ones were my favorites, but they were all tasty. And the leftovers reheated well in my airfryer oven. Might not wait to have the excuse of a nearby errand to grab more Chilenazo in the future. Their entrees looked quite attractive.

Friendly service. Ambiance is very lively and gives you a homey feeling. We got the empanadas. Freshly made and delicious.

Great flavors and good service during lunch. We had the beef and jalapeno/cheese empanadas, lomo Saltado and pastel de choclo. The warm fresh bread and sauces to complement were great as well. We will be back.

I accidentally discovered a hidden gem of a place while waiting for my kids to finish their class. Upon entering, it felt like walking into someone's home - so welcoming and cozy! Amazing Food: I had my first taste of Chilean food and empanadas, and I am absolutely hooked! The cheese empanadas were my favorite. Heavenly Sweet Treats: The desserts were just divine, especially the ones with dolce de leche! You must visit and try them for yourself.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! Yum. Think we found our new fave empanadas spot. I ordered two shrimp & cheese, one jalapeno & cheese and one chicken. All very good. My fave was the shrimp. The jalapeno one didn't have a lot of heat, but it was still solid. I began eating before I can post so all if have is the last bite of the chicken, but notice the filling. They give you a lot. Will absolutely be returning the next time I'm in the area.

Chilean food anyone? I was coming back to Chilenazo after a while so that I could savor its food and review the restaurant. It is a small place in a strip mall on Canoga Avenue in Canoga Park, with friendly and excellent service. My plan was to only have empanadas. I ordered the shrimp with cheese and the beef empanadas. Both were superb. I had to wait for both empanadas and they came out piping hot. Seems they were flash baked because the crusts were crisp. One could taste the shrimp in the empanada and its flavor was not overwhelmed by the cheese. The beef empanada had a very mild flavor and also contained raisins and hard-boiled egg parts. What I liked most was that both the empanada dough coverings had different colors, different finger and mouth feel, different texture and different taste. Salsa Verde was my favorite salsa. It had tones of cilantro, garlic and Serano chilies. There is a reason why I go into a restaurant and only order appetizers and leave. This is especially true when there are other items on the menu that catch my eye (here it was Chilean pies, tamale, chicken, beef and fish dishes). This gives me the opportunity and the excuse to come back soon. That is my wish for Chilenazo.

This is a nice little restaurant but the food is not great. Their empanadas are not good and the rest of the food is not a big deal. Good customer service.

I love this place! My boyfriend is Chilean & he introduced me to this place. I'm ALWAYS craving their food. My top favorites are: Humita, Churrasco, & Pastel de Choclo. If you go, definitely try the Chilean part of the menu. They also just went through a remodel & the restaurant has a great new vibe. Definitely try this restaurant!!!!!

Perfect spot when I'm missing and craving the delicious food from back home Their empanadas, sopaipillas and pastel de choclo are my favorite and I love to grab their fresh bread when it's available

Had lunch here for the first time.. Food & service were great.. Their staff was very welcoming.. I ordered the cazuela & the pastel de choclo.. That pastel de choclo was .. I would eat here everyday just for that pastel de choclo.. I also ordered some of their empanadas, which were also delicious

LATE POST: I stopped by Oi Asian Fusion and noticed this place. Went in and ordered a gigantic sized flaky pastry (not sure what's the name ) and one of each beef and chicken empanadas. THEY WERE ALL SOOOOO DELICIOUS!! Prices were average, portions were decent, service was good! Place was clean. Parking could be difficult sometimes. Not much displayed behind the glass counter. But I don't mind that.. they prep the empanadas per order so they weren't just sitting there. To me, that's better! Definitely going back for more!

Very friendly service. However, we ordered 2 Lomo Saltado, and it was almost all onion, with VERY little meat. Sadly, Not worth the price at all.

The guy completely messed up my to go order. By the time I realized and tried to call back to ask for some type of compensation on the order they would answer and hang up. Twice. I did not turn back and ended up stuck with the very mid tasting food. Unfortunate bc I genuinely did like this place.

Great little spot for casual dining. We love their special, which includes 2 empanandas with a side of fries or a salad. My personal favorites are the chicken and seafood one. Sooo good! They also have freshly squeezed orange juice, which is always a plus. Friendly service, too!

The best place for Chilean food ! Just wish it was closer to LA to be able to go more often. My husband was born and raised in Chile and this is the spot he'll go to when missing traditional food from Chile. We always get empanadas de pino and mariscos . They do a pretty good job with them. The bread is also well made, we've tried them all. It's not completely authentic, but it's the best Chilean bread you'll find in LA. The sandwiches are also not bad . My husband is a fan of the majority of their desserts. The alfajores and empolvados are really good. And last but not least , my favorite, and also approved by husband, the pastel de choclo! It's really well made here and I definitely recommend it.

Awesome food great service Our first authentic Chilean food. Definitely will return. Mojito is out of this world - best mojito ever and a very large drink.

I love the fresh baked bread. My wife says it's not authentic Chilean food, but she likes it. The empeñadas are a good choice and they have delicious desserts. Can't go wrong. Food and service is always good.

First time going to this nice little restaurant it's nice and cozy, the server was very nice and helpful, the food is amazing. If you need to get your food fast order before you get there because they do make everything from scratch. Very delicious and I will definitely will be going back

I couldn't decide if I wanted the fish or empanada special with fries so the gentleman assisting me gifted me an empanada so that I could try both the fish and empanada. It was too tier service, I'm definitely returning to try the cakes, they all look incredibly flavorful. I'm always down for flavor Thank you, John!

Don't buy the Humitas! What a disappointment. They must be adding masa harina - they were dry and hard not soupy and sweet and not nearly enough basil. The torta de mil hojas was also very dry - the pastry, and not enough filling of custard and manjar. Maybe it's a new Chef!

It was my first time here. I came here with my ex boyfriend(he's from Chile) for an early lunch. He said it was a good place to have some Chilean food, the man wasn't lying. He ordered a bunch of food(as always)...I forgot the names of the dishes but I know our main dish was a burger looking thing with shredded beef. BUT FIRST TO START OFF WITH we had one shrimp, one ham &cheese, and 2 beef empanadas. Followed by an avocado and celery salad with a side of sliced tomatoes. Overall it was super tasteful. I never thought of ever trying Chilean food despite dating something from Chile. Will definitely come here again! The staff is super friendly and the place is small but a big mom and pop shop. I really love how they're so prideful!

I went there today for the first time and got a cheese empanada, beef empanada and a pastry. Everything was delicious and the person helping me was really nice!

This review is not their overall performance its the tonight's performance: Tonight I am disappointed . I ordered TO GO the chicken saltado and the seafood saltado. I specifically said " please do not forget the green sauce " ( and I literally said that when placing the order !!! ) - they forgot the green sauce !!! . Without the sauce this tastes just plain just not right ! My husband is really really upset - we are tired - we were ready to eat- - and now he has to go back for the sauce . We live 10 min away ! I called and they say they give us the sauce but i think they should have offered a free desert or deliver the sauce or something . Who is gonna pay for my gas and give me back my wasted time? ? How basic is to give the sauce with the saltado ? I loved this place and I ordered a ton of empanadas last time ( like 20 or more ) and they were good and we got a lot of sauce , i don't know what is happening tonight , not happy . By the time he came back with the sauce, our food was cold and wet as the heat created humidity in the box and the water dripped on the food..... It may seem like a little thing but we are now 30 min later as planned with the double trip , now its dark and we don't get to walk the dogs , just screwed up our night .

You're deceiving yourself and the people that read your awful review. You're not Chilean, clearly. A real Chilean wouldn't go out of his way to harm another Chilean, the way you did. Not a single review except for this one. Shame on you. Go make your humitas at home. " This application was made to give a personal opinion of the place, if the owners do not like the feedback of the clients, it is better that they are not on this type of platform, like Chilean if my opinion is that their humitas are bad, so that they improve them and so they can really be called chilenazo. And I also forgot to say that his bone-in nickname lol looks like annealed wheat with cinnamon water.

I ate the food that came fresh out of the kitchen so fast the usual picture of the food would've shown a puff of smoke with a silhouette of what the food might have looked like, just kidding. Andrea was very accommodating for my first time visiting Chilenazo. They also have some tasty looking pastries that are made in house which I'll probably get during the next visit here. Oh also, the yelp time for this place shows that they are open at 11am, however, they were open earlier in which Andrea explained that they are open at around 8am to serve breakfast as well.

My wife enjoyed the food and she is Chilean. They have a wide variety of traditional Chilean food.

The empanadas at this location are very tasty. They are uniquely chewy and toasty. They Certainly are larger than most empanadas. I totally recommend the empanadas!!!

After 2 years aprox. We order again a Churrasco( Meat sandwich ) and Fries was delicious!!! On time and and very well done. I give them only 4 stars because the price , but the food was excellent ... fresh and delicious.. Good job!! you guys improve from 3 to a 10 ... thanks for a great service this time.

Great inconspicuous find! Delicious empanadas. Our flap steak tasted like it just came off a backyard BBQ. The Pastel de Choclo was a unique dish that I absolutely loved--Corn pie. Corn cream, ground beef, chicken, onions, olives, hard boiled egg and raisins. Includes salad. The fried plantains were perfect. I'm going back!

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! It's a small family owned restaurant and everyone is super sweet! The owners are very welcoming and helpful! The girls in the front are amazing! The food is super DELICIOUS! Must stop by if you are curious! EMPANADAS ARE THE BEST!

Ordered via take out ahead of time and still had to wait 30+ minutes for a very small order. Granted, they were very busy today (Chilean Independence Day) however, I find it ridiculous that such a small order would take that long. Especially since I had ordered ahead of time via grub hub. However, the carne and shrimp cheese empanadas were delicious! Worth the wait? No. Because the customer service was not good. No attentiveness whatsoever. Overall, delicious empanadas, just don't expect top notch service. I hope it's better when it's not busy. As a newbie to SoCal and proud Chilean, I expected a better experience.
