It’s not the early 2000s anymore, but the West End Chili’s is still good - Review - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Before the celebrity-backed honky-tonks descended upon Nashville, the West End Chili’s was a place where people—unironically—met up and hung out. It predates the city’s restaurant boom, and lots of people who lived here in the early aughts have fond memories of spending long evenings in a booth, splitting a skillet cookie with friends. In the years since, it's become a relic of its time, and the legendary butt of a joke on Reddit when visitors ask for the billionth time where they should eat. photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin Pause Unmute And yet, years later, there’s still some genuine value and utility here. The West End Chili’s is a great move for cheap margaritas before a Vanderbilt game, or late-night crispy southwest egg rolls after a show at The End or EXIT/IN. No matter when you come, old-school Southern hospitality is on full display. Bartenders swing by your table to ask about the quality of the drinks, and servers pepper in an endearing amount of “honeys” and “sweethearts.” So much so that you might forget that every element of this chain restaurant was designed to be convenient and crowd-pleasing. To that end, we salute you, West End Chili’s. Hopefully, you'll always have a $6 margarita waiting for us when we need it most. Food Rundown Margarita Of The Month Chili’s Presidente Margarita—an undisputed classic—is generally a fairly solid crowd pleaser, so veering off the path of certainty can be risky. But sometimes the gamble pays off, especially where the “Marg of the Month” is concerned. A recent concoction—the Radical ‘rita—wasn’t overly sweet despite the dragonfruit and curacao in it. We liked it more than we’re comfortable admitting. Also, the marg of the month is $6, all day every day. photo credit: Casey Irwin Skillet Queso This is better than 80% of the disturbingly milky pools of liquid being passed off as queso around town. It has a thick consistency, thanks to the meat and beans added to the mix. The chips are a bit greasy, but they’re a mere tool in your quest to shovel more queso in your mouth. photo credit: Casey Irwin Southwest Egg Rolls A straight-up Chili’s classic, and as good as ever. The wrapper isn’t like an eggroll at all—it’s smooth and a bit doughier, but firmly holds the creamy black bean, corn, and jalapeño jack cheese filling in place. The avocado ranch dipping sauce is a bit bland, but this is still a good appetizer. photo credit: Casey Irwin Half Rack Of Ribs Go ahead. Sing the theme song. Because that’s the best part of this whole dish—the ribs are almost all bone with barely any meat. The sauce is cloyingly sweet, with a weird chemical aftertaste. Pass. photo credit: Casey Irwin Nashville Hot Chicken Crispers The Nashville hot chicken crispers are serviceable. They’re a bit heavy on the salt in the spice, but tender and indeed quite crisp. But also, ordering this when you’re two minutes from Red’s is silly. photo credit: Casey Irwin Skillet cookie Crispy edges, gooey middle, and every bit as good as your middle school memories of it. photo credit: Casey Irwin" - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Nicole Byer, Host of Netflix’s ‘Nailed It,’ Reveals Her Favorite Foods | Eater

"A casual-chain restaurant she likes because it once served a chicken Caesar pita that she enjoyed, though that menu item has since been discontinued." - Greg Morabito

Our server Serenity provided exemplary service, was friendly and arrived at the table to check on us at exactly the right times. Service doesn't get better than that. The food was hot, fresh, timely and good. No complaints, my daughter and I are completely happy with our experience and appreciate the top shelf service. Thank you Serenity!

Had to go back again. Order was resolved after missing a few items. I'm not angry because they fixed it. So I'll give them a good review because everyone makes mistakes. Plus they were nice about it. They made it really great as well. Cajun chicken pasta is my favorite.

I always enjoy the food at Chili’s. I had a stressful week with a family member in the hospital, so a brisk walk and a bite at Chili’s was a welcomed break! My server was a new gal, but she was very sweet and compassionate after I told her my situation with my family member. For being brand new, she was on top of the service! 👏🏼 My only issue was being placed next to the kitchen and listening to the crew in the back carry on about their legal issues. They were all basically yelling and several ladies were in the back talking about their arrests, court dates, probation, etc. The conversation was very loud and super disruptive. I just wanted to enjoy a beer and a good meal outside of hospital food for a change of pace, but was subjected to listening to legal woes of the past and present. I hope this issue can be resolved by reminding your staff that customers can hear them so they should keep their conversations to a minimum, keep it professional, and use an indoor voice volume.

Don’t let the negative reviews deter you. This is the fastest Chilis location I have ever been to. Under 3 minutes from placing an order. The food was good and the server regularly attended to us. Great location!

I decided to bring my child here because I am tired of McDonald's. I really wanted to try the Nashville Hot Mozzarella sticks (which was very flavorful but not spicy)but they were pretty good. My southwestern egg rolls were pretty good. Our tenders were to crispy to the point they looked burnt & very small (for the price), the fries were super crispy and salty (they sent out new unsalted fries that was even harder than the first batch)... The food came out pretty quick. The waitress checked in once but I had to asked for the check twice. She was friendly and understanding. I don't believe I will EVER visit this location again. I should've went to McDonald's in my opinion.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ David at the Chili’s on West End Avenue absolutely knocked it out of the park. Hands down one of the best server–bartender combos I’ve had in a long time. From the first pour to the last bite, the service was smooth, attentive, and genuinely welcoming—no rushed vibes, no missed beats. The food? Flat-out delicious. Hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. The drinks? Dangerous in the best way—perfectly mixed and on point. I’ll be honest: this used to be a Chili’s I avoided like bad traffic on a Friday afternoon. It was rough. Chaotic. Not it. But wow—what a turnaround. New staff, new energy, and it shows. This place has reinvented itself, and David is a huge reason why. If you’re on the fence about coming back, hop off it. This Chili’s is back, and David is the kind of professional who makes you want to stay for “just one more.” 🍹🔥

Honestly, when I go to Chili’s, I always order the same thing – the Triple Dipper with double Honey Chipotle Tenders and Original Mozzarella Sticks. It's one of my go-to meals because I know it’s always good, and I can count on it being exactly what I want. So, when I went there on this particular visit, I was really looking forward to my usual order. I wanted to stick with the classics, but this time, things didn’t go quite as smoothly. Instead of my usual Triple Dipper, I decided to try something different and ordered a burger. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations at all. The burger was, frankly, awful. It wasn’t cooked properly and just tasted off. To make matters worse, my mozzarella sticks came out cold. Anyone who’s had mozzarella sticks knows they need to be hot and crispy, but these were far from that. I wasn’t happy with my meal, so I had to send the cheese sticks back, hoping for a fresh batch. Even when the new ones came out, they still weren’t great, and I couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. As if the food wasn’t bad enough, there was the issue of how we were treated. It seemed like the staff had some preconceived notions about us, simply because we were a group of teens. The vibe from the staff was skeptical, like they were expecting trouble or thinking we weren’t going to be responsible customers. But that wasn’t the case at all. We had money, we were well-behaved, and all we wanted was to have a nice meal and enjoy the time together. We dressed well, carried ourselves with respect, and didn’t cause any problems. But still, it felt like the staff was watching us, and it wasn’t comfortable. Even when we were packing up to leave, there were three or four staff members lingering near our table, which was awkward. It felt like they were waiting for us to do something wrong, but we were just waiting for a friend’s phone to charge. We paid our bill and weren’t trying to cause any issues. It wasn’t horrible overall, but I really hate when assumptions are made based on appearances or age. It’s frustrating, especially when all we wanted was to have a nice meal without feeling judged.

Waitress was nice and the quality of the food is great. Mozzarella sticks had the PERFECT string of cheese. Would go again.
