"If you talk to any Medford resident about food for more than a few seconds, Chilli Garden is sure to come up. Everything’s good, but the restaurant really shines in the Sichuan arena. Try the Sichuan-style pork dumplings and house special chicken with dry pepper. Locals who have been here longer than me tell me that the fresh green peppercorn dishes are a must as well. —Rachel Leah Blumenthal" - Rachel Leah Blumenthal, Terrence Doyle, Nathan Tavares, Karen Wilber

"Order from Chilli Garden’s Sichuan menu, which includes classics such as dan dan noodles, ma po tofu, eggplant in garlic sauce, and dry chicken with peppers. Also worth a try: the catfish and pig intestines with mixed vegetables in spicy sauce." - Terrence Doyle

The Sichuan cuisine here is very authentic. The couple's lung slices taste great, and the double-cooked pork is also good.

update at 09/03/2023: had food yesterday, ordered 麻婆豆腐,but the tofu is soulful and tasted bad. They canceled the dish for us but they did not say sorry or apologize at all! Bad for the service. Will update it to one ⭐️ only… disappointed 😔 about it because I went to this place a lot.. but not any more. update at 02/19/2023: had take out and got 凉面 for free. When it is taking out, it is much better flavor than you dine in.. again, 四川回锅肉- Double cooked poker belly and 麻婆豆腐 is recommended. Change it to 5 stars this time. Had it for multiple times. Good place to have Chinese food nearby. Ordered fried dumplings as appetizer but not recommended, the skins are too thick. 虾仁豆腐- Tofu with baby shrimp is good, if the tofu is fresh, it will be perfect. Will order again. 夫妻肺片- Sliced beef, Omasum and Tendon is always good to have in Chinese restaurant, but it is a little bit too salty here. 四川回锅肉- Double cooked poker belly is good except a little bit too salty as well. In general, it is okay.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Food were served very fast. First time try fried pork dumplings, not recommend as it’s not authentic at all, it’s totally fried but not one side and the wrapper is so thick. But I still love the rest of the dishes. Tofu was very tender, recommend to those who don’t like very spicy. Sliced beef omasum and tender is spicy, authentic and nice. Double-cooked pork belly is well cooked, a little bit too much oil but this is how this dish like. Recommend for those who wanna try some authentic Sichuan dishes.

Food and service was amazing. Prices are good too. I had Taiwan style rice noodles which were very good. I also had the kung pao bean curd which was amazing. Quality of ingredients are excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic food and a careful, attentive owner/manager. My husband and I have come just a couple of times but it was totally worth it both times. This time we got Sichuan dumplings, cumin lamb, sliced pork in special sauce, Sichuan green beans, and garlic bok choi. I can't pick a favorite because they were all so good in their own ways. The dumplings were different from the standard version you get in America, steamed/boiled and they came in a delicious savory and slightly sweet soy-based sauce. Everything was freshly prepared and hot - the garlic bok choi was especially steaming hot. It's really amazing to get that kind of service at most restaurants since many places will have your food waiting for a bit before the server brings them to you. The owner/manager was considerate and attentive. I loved watching the Chinese acrobatics show on the TV in the back too!

Ordered twice from here. Just felt compelled to write a review because of how bad it is. First time ordered the general tso chicken, flavor was decent but it was really soggy. I did pick up my order really late so I decided to give this place a second shot. But they managed to make it even worse. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and not only is it soggy like last time (0 crisp, and I picked it up really quickly this time too), but there was barely any flavor in the sauce. Literally tastes like the chef forgot to add salt and sugar to the dish. It's a tasteless mess. Only giving them 2 stars because the eggplant garlic dish I ordered is decent (it has flavor). They can't do their classic "popular" dishes half decently. Don't think my standards are too high either, literally comparing them to any standard run off the mill chinese take out place. How do you mess these things up? Very disappointed.

Consistently great Chinese food. The beef lomein is very good. I didn't like the three delights seafood dish. The scallops and imitation crab are inferior to the jumbo shrimp. House fried rice is delicious.

Authentic Sichuan food. I ordered fresh green pepper and bitter melon. They're both delicious.
