This contemporary bar offers cocktails, frozen drinks & a Mexican food truck in the backyard.
"High chairs: Yes A food truck pumping out fat tacos and stacked tortas. A bar pouring mezcal margaritas and micheladas. And a contained back patio where your child can play extra quietly under a picnic table. This is not a dream. This is Chilo’s, a Mexican spot in Bed-Stuy (with another location in Greenwood Heights). It’s the perfect place to park for a few hours—just order another taco whenever you get hungry, and make frequent visits to the salsa station. Meet some friends here on a Saturday for a boozy lunch, and everyone will leave pleased. Even those who didn’t ingest any tequila." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick
"This is a Mexican food truck tucked in the shady patio of a cool neighborhood bar. What's not to like? Tacos are yummy and the drinks are affordable, which makes this place a great stop for dinner on your way back from work. Or play." - Ramona Todoca
"We can’t count the number of times Chilo’s excellent tacos have been there for us. This taco truck in the back of a bar is one of the few great Mexican spots in the neighborhood, and it’s open everyday, and till 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. You can order your fish, carnitas, and smoked beef tacos online and eat them at one of the outdoor picnic tables here with up to four people - just keep in mind that you may be asked to give up your spot after 90 minutes." - nikko duren
"Haven’t been to Bed-Stuy recently? There are tons of new things happening in this neighborhood, and it’s about time you did some exploring. Start off at Chilo’s, a mezcal bar with a truck in the back serving the kind of tacos that you rarely come by in NYC. If you get excited about tacos, you should be excited about Chilo’s." - katherine lewin
"Between the fried catfish, pico de gallo, radishes, pickled onions and jalapenos, and crema, the fish tacos at this Bed-Stuy bar have a lot going on. But, somehow, all of the flavors are noticeable, and combine to create one of the very best fish tacos in the city. Order a few from the truck parked in the bar’s backyard, and enjoy them at an outdoor table with a michelada or 32-ounce frozen margarita." - matt tervooren
