Food looked better than it tasted. We ordered two small portions and spent over 30 dollars. Food portions were very small with a tiny portion of rice, the taste was mediocre at best. Couldn’t finish my meal due to the rice being absolutely soaked in sauce though I was fine leaving my leftovers since the taste was lacking. Everything was served on paper plates and paper cups, the silverware was also plastic and very flimsy, could barely pick up broccoli. The atmosphere was as if we were eating in a hospital cafeteria and the taste of the food definitely reflects that. You’d be better off going to Panda Express than going here. Would not recommend.

Awesome food. I ordered over the phone and when I arrived I stood literally alone in the restaurant for over 5 min before I went to the boh door to get the attention of an employee. That is my only gripe. Otherwise, definitely eat here!! Great food!!

Yes, the sesame chicken portion was smaller than expected but so good. Crab rangoon seemed homemade and full of filling. My picky daughters ate everything. If you get water, they will charge you per cup. Next time I will try the cashew and Kung pow chicken. So clean in there.

If you ask for spicy, they will make it so spicy !! Favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Highly recommend the spicy Kung Pao chicken or Fragrant Vegetable. They are also SO NICE!

Not quite what I was expecting, but it was actually very good! Food was fresh and service was great. Very clean and quick. Tried the daily special, and it was great.

Delicious food and great daily specials. Owners and staff are very friendly. Love their veggoe chow mein and chicken chow and low mein 😋 The absolute BEST carb rangoons in town!!

Overall the food was good. I was a little disappointed in the quantity of food we received for the price. Seemed a bit higher than other similar restaurants. I would definitely try again.

Always amazing food, personal staff that will remember you each time, nice and quiet, great location and they've been in business since the early 80s when they were at the food court in the empire mall! Remember, next to Cinnabon =)

I love this place!! The general chicken is SO GOOD!! The people there are so nice. I've gone here for years and every time it keeps me coming back. 10/10 recommend.

The owner, went out of her way to bring us a bowl and silver spoon for my wife's sister to eat her lunch. My sister-in-law is special needs. The food was great and plentiful. Highly recommend

It's a nice quiet store. They're very friendly and accommodating! The food is always amazing whenever I go. It's always fresh and they cook it quickly. Most of the time it's only a 10 min wait for about 2-3 meals. It's very clean and I would say the best Chinese food in Sioux Falls!

It was a little pricey, but the food was food. The owner was very accommodating to my disabled sister. She brought her a bowl and a real spoon, so she was able to eat her rice without spilling. I am very grateful to her. We had chicken fried rice, and it was good. Came out hot and in a timely manner. I would recommend this place.

Due to the lack of good Chinese places in Sioux Falls that are actually good in flavor this place makes it. It is very clean. You are welcomed and talked too as a customer but almost like a member of the family. Ordering is simple. They have menu easily seen and read. Orders the crab ragoons. Had enough stuffing but needs more crab and these would be the best I have had. Ordered pork Dish that was hot and tasty. Wife ordered the spicy chicken. Flavor spot on and spice was just right. They explained other menu items that will make next time a great experience.

Enjoy good Chinese takeout and starting to check locally. China Express had a 4.5 rating so tried it twice in a week. The Egg Rolls are huge and very moist, flavorful and tasty! I will stop for them! The food has no taste or flavor. The fried rice is very dry with little flavor. The chicken has little flavor and almost no spice. I have ordered the Hot & Spicy Hunan Chicken and the Hot & Spicy Szechwan Chicken - neither was spicy or flavorful and complete waste of money. This is a shame that so many think this is quality food and a good example of Chinese food. Moving on to other choices!

When eating here, your food is served on paper plates. Don't let that fool you however. The service is amazing and the food is even better. The hot and sour soup is amazing, and better than others I've tried. I also tried the Mongolian chicken, it may not be on the menu, but it is on this review as one of the best Mongolian chickens I've ever tried. I recommend stopping here when you don't feel like spending much for a delicious meal.

I am pleasantly surprised by China express. A friend recommended this as great food and very clean. Honestly from the outside I wouldn't have guessed either but don't judge a book by its cover! I had the crab Rangoon's and friend had the sweet and sour chicken and pork. They were delicious! The inside was immaculately clean. All the servers very nice and we got our food quickly. We ended up enjoying the space and ended staying 2 hours and probably past closing. They didn't rush us out and we had a wonderful experience. I will definitely visit again and bring more friends. I highly encourage anyone who hasn't tried this for Chinese food to visit as you won't be disappointed!

The restaurant is quite clean and well lit and they have a soda fountain for refills, and I do enjoy my refills. Past that, I wasn't thrilled. Panda Express down the street has much better food for cheaper. Prices were roughly $1-2 per plate higher than they should have been. The quality was lacking and the meal didn't settle well at all. We had the beef and broccoli and General Tso's. The fried rice was decent, if a bit dry, but the meats, especially the beef, were stringy and off-putting. The sauce on the broccoli dish was bland and lacked any real flavor with a very cornstarchy (that's a word now) texture. Considering how many cheap Chinese options there are in the area, I feel like we really could have gotten better eats that didn't require a follow up of Kaopectate.

Disgusting ... My family was recently staying in Sioux Falls as a halfway point from Kansas City to North Dakota. We originally chose a different chinese food place, but it was so packed that we couldn't even find a place to park, so we went to China Express. We figured quick chinese = cheap chinese. So we walk in and order egg foo young, veggie fried rice, veggie lo mein, 4 bowls of egg drop soup, and an order of crab rangoon. It was ridiculously expensive. $50 for our meal. Okay, whatever, it better be good for that kind of money .... NOT EVEN CLOSE, the rice was hard, the lo mein was mushy and the egg drop soup was like jello. We picked at our food and walked out and ended up ordering a pizza to our hotel room. SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED.

Love this place. Owners are some of the most friendly people around. Love the Kung Pao chicken and Mandarin Chicken. My go to when I want a fast, good Chinese food.

China express China express is a good rest area and a real chill place to sit and enjoy the food. China express is a very clean place smell good and really fantastic. The store take care of its customers and it's food, they take out order on time. They clean the tables after every customers leave.

I really love this place. The owners/staff are very nice and the lunch specials are a fantasic deal. The garlic chicken is excellent! The dining room is large, and always very clean. The food is ready almost immediately after ordering and always delicious!

Good service! Had a great conversation with the owner of China Express. Told her I remembered her and their business was in the Empire Mall. And have been going here since 1993 & they still serve awesome food.

Fresh hot chinese food, in an always clean place. I've been in the kitchen of a lot of the chinese restaurants around Sioux Falls, and this one is probably the cleanest. I highly recommend.

They have super yummy Chinese at this place and the restaurant is very clean. The prices are reasonable and the portions are more than adequate.

I had a good experience here. Most dishes are around $7 to $8 . The spicy orange chicken was delicious. It was a different taste than most Chinese foods places (in a good way). The chicken was tender and yummy.

Well, I went in there to get some food. At first, I thought that it was going to be a great experience for me, because they were nice. But then, I saw the waiter spit in my food, and so I asked him why and he completely ignored the question and slammed my food down. Later that night, I found out that I had food poisoning and it was nasty. So please save yourself and DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

This place is clean. Go into the kitchen of one of those "sit down places" once, you probably wouldn't want to eat there again, trust me. Food is ALWAYS good and reasonable. Staff is always helpful and friendly. The food gets out to you fast and is always completely cooked to perfection. Calling in and picking up your order is great too!

Perfect food...great people who run the place! Had 8 people over for an impromptu party and the owners were there to make sure we were properly serviced. Would recommend :D

Love this place! Sioux Falls has much to offer! This is one of our favorite places! Super clean, great and friendly service and we have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered!!

We have been eating at China Express for 14 years and still find that it's our favorite when it comes to Chinese! The restaurant is always very clean and kept up and the staff is always friendly. It's great when you can walk into a place that welcomes you and asks about your family each time you go in. Well worth the hour drive that it takes us to get there! Our favorites are the Kung Pao Chicken, Hot and Spicy Garlic Chicken, (the best ever) Crab Rangoon, shrimp and chicken fried rices and the egg drop soup.

this is a really good place, normally we use to go to Wing Wa downtown, but everything seems to taste the same so we tried China Express and never looked back. Always fresh food. I thought I got mischarged once for takeout but my mistake - just make sure to double check your takeout order because it can get busy on the weekends and sometimes, the chef may forget to get the order right. It's not greasy like Hibachi Grill and it's fresh - I LOVE their Dumplings! My husband always has to have his House wonton Soup extra spicy. Staff is nice and friendly and it's a very clean restaurant.

I have eaten their food for over 22 years starting in college when they were still in the mall. I have NEVER eaten any better Chinese food and I have tried many others! Their Kung Pao Chicken is absolutely delicious and I get it every time. The Crab Rangoon is oozing with filling, not like the other cheap restaurants who just put just a smear of filling in theirs. It is the cleanest restaurant I have been to and the staff is very friendly, inviting and genuinely concerned if your food is prepared how your ordered it. For the amount of food you receive this is define10 starts for this place!!!

If you like the run around, you will LOVE this place. I called for delivery because they were only 1.7 miles from the hotel I was in. Their website was down so I didn't have a menu. Despite the language barrier I was prepared for, the guy I spoke to was confused as can be so I stopped asking questions and ordered the first thing that hit my brain, Beef and Broccoli. I was told there is a $15 min. I added some fried rice and an egg roll and it was amazingly $15.00 even. They don't take Amex song gave them my Visa. I got a call back from the hotel stating my card didn't go through. I called back and asked them to verify the card number they were charging. He read me my phone number...no wonder it didn't go through. I gave them my card number again and they said the minimum is $25 now due to my location. I tried to explain that I am only 1.7 miles away. Then they were closed.

Might I suggest Hy-Vee. The egg rolls were ok but about the size of a marshmallow. The restaurant is extremely clean and the people very nice but the meal I had, not very good. The fried rice appeared to be white rice with a tiny but of soy splashed on it to change the color. Ya, it was not bad, I think they could have done better. One of those places where you would like the owner to eat it and ask what they thought.

China Express has been around along time now since the mall days. Their food is excellent and served Hot. The friendly owners remembers you everytime you come in...And Honestly the cleanest place in town. I've never been there where their not cleaning something. The bathrooms are super clean just like every window...every restaurant should practice what you do....

We moved to Texas and I miss this place so much :( I haven't found pot stickers like the ones China express makes or fried, this place is always incredibly clean, friendly and very welcoming!
