We’ve been eating at this restaurant for over ten years I think and have never had a bad experience. We’re always greeted with a hello and know that if it’s busy, the food might take a while because it’s made to order. I would definitely recommend the whole steamed sea bass (approximately 20mins to prepare), and if you’re not afraid of bones. The brown sauce pork belly cubes are delicious too. It’s fun to see the ladies at lunchtime doing the green beans in the back table. It’s a no frills, lazy Susan in the center of the table, you can hear the chefs yelling in the kitchen, that makes you smile restaurant kind of feeling.

Just the absolute best authentic Chinese in town. You know when there's a special szechuan menu. Been coming here for a while, always for my take out and my go-to Christmas eve dinners but never took the time to review. But today, I just wanted to get a quick lazy soup, egg rolls, some green beans but she was so sweet and announced the crispy pork just came out of the oven, hot and crispy, and I could not pass it up. It was to die for, and better than all the other I've had in town. Juicy, tender, and crispy. Thank you so much for the heads up!

So me and my daughter where not feeling to good. So we decided to get some soup and egg rolls from this Chinese restaurant. I must say I was very impressed. The hot and sour soup was delicious. My daughter said the egg soup was very good also. And the egg rolls wow . I would definitely eat there again. We also got a sesame chicken . Very good all around. Next time we eat there instead of taking it to go ..

The service was awesome, friendly and fast. Food was hot and delicious! I had the Mongolian beef lunch special and my husband had cashew shrimp. Lunch came with a choice of 2 soups and either 2 crab puffs or fried wontons . Best Mongolian beef I ever had! A must try!😋

Google
My review going to be based on (to go )order . Firt the costumer service is great the manager is very friendly and live she told me a lot about Chinese food. The dumplings are very good but a bit salty, the boiled fish is delicious and something new for me , finally the chicken curry is really good . However the food wasn’t really spicy like how manager told me it’s going to be , it’s a bit salty and really greasy . I ordered boiled fish ,chicken curry and vegetables and they gave me dumplings for free it cost me 40$ I feel like it’s a bit expensive but they do put generous portions.( the pictures does not represent the portions) Thank you

We have been longtime customers, both dine in and takeout. Food used to be excellent, but has deteriorated into everything with dark brown sauce, Last few times chicken was like rubber overcooked un tasty. Worst is that Pick Up ticket had a $17 tip added to it without our permission store contested but I had the actual customer copy with the correct amount will never go back.

After reading yelp and Google reviews, we were in the area and decided to try this restaurant for dinner. We were not let down! To really learn if a Chinese restaurant is worth it, you need to order a la carte. So we did.... The won tons and the egg rolls were standard fare and a nice appetizer. We also got the hot and sour soup and the old lady loves it, which is rare. I too, give it a warm hug! A definite winner any time. Moving to the food, we got a well rounded order, bbq pork fried rice, szechuan beef, Kung pao veggies and lemon chicken. Growing up in the san Francisco Bay area, I compare Chinese food to the mecca of the cuisine. We have not had better bbq pork fried rice since Moving to arizona. This was as superb as anything in Chinatown. The beef and sauce were perfect. Tender, right amount of sweet and heat, crisp veggies, and filling. The veggie dish was perfectly sauced and wok fried. Cashew and peanut too, for a bit of fusion flavor and texture. Amazing on the palette. But I save the very best for last. We have eaten at some of the best Chinese restaurants California has to offer. This lemon chicken blew the doors off of any prior. Amazing, lemony, crisp, not very gluten-y, fresh and tart while being full bodied with chicken meat and flavor. Bonus points for really great fresh iced tea! After all that, we started talking with the staff including our terrific waiter Kevin, and it's NO WONDER the food was so familiar!!! They are from San Francisco North Beach! Home cooking so far from home is a true diamond in the sands of the desert! We will call China Szechuan our Chinese food home from now on! Eating here will make you happy and satisfied! 10-stars!

Yelp
We were craving some good Chinese food and ran across China Szechwan, it's a small restaurant in a little strip mall. When we entered we were pleasantly greeted and seated. We looked over the menu and found a lot of tasty looking veggie options. Our waiter was very helpful and provided us with some really delicious recommendations. We ended up getting the vegetarian low mein but with rice noodles, salted spicy tofu, and the eggplant in garlic sauce. Everything was delicious and the 3 dishes were a great combination. If you're in the mood for Chinese food, this place is a real hidden gem. They have a lot of options and are very accommodating to vegetarian and vegan diets.

Yelp
First impressions- Another Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. 4 other tables, we were guided to one. A large tv flashes pictures of dishes on the back wall. Menus and tea was brought quickly. We were greeted by a delightful young lady who took her time explaining the 2 different menus, American and Szechuan. We went with 2 orders of spicy pork dumplings, one garlic chicken entree and boiled chicken. Appetizers- spicy pork dumplings - a nice soft steamed dumpling drizzled in a spicy pepper and red sauce topped with chives. A nice flavor, decent dish, would do again. Egg and spring rolls hand rolled. Well fried, nice crunch. Entrees, Garlic chicken, delicious flavor. Tender white meat chicken with water chestnuts, carrots, celery, and onion. Water boiled chicken. Much like a stew, tender chicken, cabbage, cilantro, onion. Another savory dish. All in all I can't say this in my top to go Chinese but it is up there. A good experience for a decent price A+

Yelp
Great little family run Sichuan place. Lots of variety including special Sichuan menu. Whole fish and duck dishes. Super friendly. Reasonable prices.

Yelp
I'll give an extra star because the staff is wonderful. We had come here 12 years ago when we visited Tucson and LOVED it! Came back last night and food was horrible. The wok was not hot enough when they prepared the food so everything was oily, bland, over salted. It was so bad she offered us to-go boxes because we had a lot of leftovers and we politely declined. Don't want your money or time. The customer service was amazing but literally every single dish out of 4 was horrible.

Yelp
First timer. It's small and cozy. The staff attended us quickly. Our waiter made some suggestions. In which I took. We had the combination sampler, egg rolls, fried shrimp, some type of Rib. Overall the food was great. I recommend this place. What I did notice about it is that it had a lot of call in orders. So i seemed to be a popular place for pickup.

Yelp
Foods were not that great and it didn't taste delicious at all, just put all the sauces mixed together. The tasting weren't working together. Services weren't that good even though the Front house staff were so polite, confused the order with kitchen if I didn't request the food were late to deliver. The server kept forgetting my ice water n kept talking to other guests... not focusing fining services.

Yelp
Felt very authentic and welcoming from when we walked in. I really needed a break from Mexican and the staff here were so sweet. The joke is always go to a place with okay service, but here is great food and amazing service. They were able to slightly modify dishes to make sure we (vegan) could eat them and change the vegetables out for my partner who isn't the biggest fan of some things. I fully appreciated how kind the staff were and well packaged the to go containers were. We were bringing this to trivia and they gave us plates and utensils. Their chow fun was cooked perfectly and had so many vegetables in it. It wasn't too oiling like others. They cooked their tofu perfectly and I found it nicely spiced. Their pepper tofu and eggplant was amazing and they were able to add eggplant for us. Perfectly peppery and so much sauce. I can see why people say this is the best Chinese in the area because it rivals some of what I have had in California.

Yelp
Finally found the best Chinese Food in town I think in all Arizona ‍ only thing you'll regret is when you get full ! Thanks to Yen for recommending the best plates

Yelp
My daughter and I were treated royally and furthermore we greased our chins royally. Kevin rolled out the red carpet for us and we felt special.

Yelp
I love their Szechuan tofu and vegetables dish for a healthier feeling take out. The sauce is light and not oily but very flavorful and the portions are large for the price.

Yelp
China Szechuan in Tucson is a true culinary gem that has not only weathered the pandemic storm but has emerged even more vital, consistently delivering delicious Cantonese cuisine year after year. As the popularity of Szechuan food surged in the area, China Szechuan remained steadfast in offering a diverse menu that includes an impressive assortment of Cantonese dishes, each prepared with authenticity and care. What sets them apart is their unwavering commitment to quality. Whether it's their succulent BBQ pork, perfectly roasted pork, or flavorful garlic green beans, every dish is a testament to their culinary prowess. One of the highlights of dining at China Szechuan is the warm and welcoming atmosphere cultivated by the owners. Their genuine kindness and hospitality make each visit feel like coming home. They take the time to get to know their customers by name, creating a sense of community that adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. Their dishes are not just meals; they are comfort food. In a city where authentic Cantonese cuisine can be hard to find, China Szechuan stands out as a beacon of culinary excellence. Whether you're craving classic favorites like sesame chicken and beef chow fun or something more adventurous like fish fillet in egg white sauce, this is the place to go. I am immensely grateful to have such an excellent restaurant in Tucson. I wholeheartedly recommend China Szechuan to anyone looking for authentic Cantonese flavors served with a side of genuine hospitality.

Yelp
I should probably pop in for dinner sometime. The lunch was typical Chinese place lunch menu, quick and a good variety of options with complimentary add ons like puffs and soup. No eggroll though. The food was good and the portions was large for the price. Dinner would probably allow then to flex a bit. The service was fast and friendly. Strip mall Chinese restaurants vary quite a bit in quality, this one is good.

Yelp
The win, the home run of the meal SIZZLING Shrimp. Eggplant, pounded shrimp in between eggplant slices, onions, and green and red peppers. The sauce has black pepper in it and a tad spicy. Fantastic. I've never had pounded shrimp but yummy. The eggplant was cooked perfectly. The menu doesn't mention the green and red peppers, but they are in there. The dud, and look totally are fault for ordering it, chinese vegetables and black mushrooms. Bland City. It consists of bok choy and black mushrooms in a white zero flavor sauce. They give you white rice for each dish. For an appetizer, we went with the veggie eggrolls. I liked how they cut them, rather than you trying to eat hot. They bring out the sweet sauce, so if you want hot mustard you have to ask for it. Service is very good. We each had an ice tea, it's okay. The place is in a strip right after you cross ft.lowell if you are going down Campbell. Ample parking.

Yelp
Good food at a fair price. Staff is very kind! Come here for to go during the week all the time. Highly recommend

Yelp
Very Tasty food Great and friendly service I recommend the scalion pancake, the crab puffs and the orange chicken

Yelp
The food was amazing! The service was top notch and the ambiance was what you typically see at a Chinese food restaurant. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and my husband got the curry chicken. Both were flavorful and fresh. The egg roll was hit and crispy so was the crab ragoon. We also had the hit and sour soup and it was on point. After wasting money on Chinese restaurants I have finally found my spot!!a Must try!!!

Yelp
This restaurants good, is authentic and amazingly flavorful. This is a small family restaurant but don't sleep on the amazing food.

Yelp
The best Chinese restaurant I have ever had during my trip so far. My husband loved this roasted duck and I loved their vegetable dish too

Yelp
I had almost given up, finding a good Chinese food. We attended the Asian culture day and a lady reccomended it. This place reminds me of food in China town SF and Portland. The best hot and sour soup I have ever had.

Lindsay C.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! I loved all of their vegan options! We tried the crispy tofu, green beans, baby bok choy and schezuan tofu. The staff were so helpful with reviewing which items are vegan and I loved seeing their interactions with the regulars, they're so sweet! I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!

Yelp
Wow! The best Chinese food in Tucson! So delicious. Very good service. I can't wait to return. The best sweet & sour soup that I've ever had.

Yelp
Always happy with the food and the service at China Szechwan! Food is always very good and fresh. Always consistent and good.

Yelp
I decided to stop here after grabbing a drink next door. I was greeted immediately by the staff and they were friendly and helpful with the menu. I placed an order to go. I wanted the curry chicken, but they were out of curry. So instead I did the beef and broccoli and added ginger. It was good. It was a Good portion size that I had leftovers, and it comes with a side of rice. You can call in your order or dine in.

Mackenzie P.

Yelp
Overpriced. And over hyped . Orange chicken was nasty . Filling but not tasty , crab puffs tasted like burnt old oil. Egg rolls were mushy inside . 28$ dollars . Fried rice was decent .

Yelp
I love Chinese food but in my personal opinion this was subpar. Ordered the orange chicken, eggfoo young (sp), cup of sweet/sour soup, and lastly pork. My chicken was deeply breaded but it had a great orange sauce, the eggfoo young (sp) was light & fluffy that came with a tasty gravy, the soup was not too sweet or too spicy and did have an excellent taste. The amount of food was abundant that most folks were taking home & I probably would have as well but who wants to eat lots of saucy breaded with very little chicken. The service was excellent & friendly & it appears to be family run. I really wanted to love my orange chicken as it had a great taste just wish it wasn't overly breaded. I would go back & just need to find the particular dish that stands out.
google avatar

Didi L.

Yelp
GREAT Chinese food!!! I have had Chinese food at many places but this is the best! The sweet and sour has crisp veggies and the chicken is all breast meat. The kung pao is spicy without being overbearing. The egg flower soup is on point as is the egg roll. The prices are fair, the place is clean and the waitress is very good natured and very good at her job. Run, don't walk and give this place a try.

Yelp
Grabbed dinner her with my family on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. The staff were so kind and friendly. They checked in and had conversations with us. It almost felt like we were part of the family. We loved everything we ordered and loved that it's served family style for everyone to share. The sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, bbq pork, pot stickers, chow fun and Cantonese style noodles were all beyond delicious. Already planning my next trip.

Jessica G.

Yelp
In our trips here we have ordered spicy and non-spicy dishes. Both dishes for dine in are suitable for 2 people. I cannot imagine getting food of this caliber as delivery only. You need to sit, have time, order something authentic, savor the combination of spices and ingredients, and be so satisfied of the choice to have gone here. I have not tried things you would typically see at a panda type restaurant. I ordered the fish hot pot, big enough for 2. It is the closest to being in China since I left there 4 years ago. The decor could be improved, but I love the food. I looked at other people's tables and everyone had great food and was very happy.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent Chinese take out! Staff is friendly and Mongolian beef and kung pow chicken are my favorites for sure!

Yelp
We've been going here for years and the manager always comes and gives us a welcoming hug. She remembers my daughter from kindergarten. They have a phenomenal steamed sea bass that is a must try, anything off the Szechuan menu is delicious. The place is small and kitschy, with the noise bouncing off the walls, but you know you're welcome when all the workers eat lunch around a table with a lazy Susan asking if you want some to eat.
google avatar

Shaylee C.

Yelp
Excellent service on a Tuesday evening. My son has food allergies and they were very accommodating. The restaurant was clean. My family ordered steamed dumplings, sweet n sour chicken, sesame chicken, general Taos chicken, and lo mein to share. We will be back in the future to try other dishes.
google avatar

Jocelyn S.

Yelp
We came here for a quick lunch. Most of the lunch entrees are your popular Chinese selections. They run about $10 include soup and crab puffs. My General Tso chicken was not as spicy as I like but the portion was hearty. The regular menu is extensive and has dishes that I had never had. Very authentic and I would love to come back with a larger party to try new dishes family style.

Kathryn

Yelp
Just no. We ordered take out several weeks ago and decided on this restaurant because of the great reviews. I ordered beef and broccoli and spring rolls. There is not much that can go wrong with this dish. it was the worst food I have ever eaten. First of all, the spring rolls were extremely greasy and there was a long black hair in the grease at the bottom of the bag. In the garbage it went. The broccoli was way over cooked and the beef was covered with way too much cornstarch product and very little sauce. In the garbage it went. WASTE! I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Omigawd, it was so nice to be back here after 18 months of quarantine! the good news, is that it's just as good as ever. I tried something new (for me) the cumin deep fried lamb (pictured), because I love ewe... It was wonderful, plenty of spice but not overpowering. My wife had You Xiang eggplant, which she really enjoyed. Another of us had the Preserved Green Been with Pork - it was pretty hot, but the flavor was just excellent. Jon had the water sauce beef and fish, his favorite that he'd been craving for months. it was as good as always I can report! It's a lot of food, and he couldn't quite finish it so be aware if you order the water sauce dish with 2+ proteins you better be pretty hungry. The only disappointment was the Dan Dan noodles, which we always start with. Couldn't find any pork, but the noodles were wonderful! Back in the saddle again!!!

Explosions D.

Yelp
Pretty average take out. The potstickers were flavorless and the sesame chicken was doughy. The beef lo mein was good, especially if you like onions.
google avatar

Dahee K.

Yelp
New spot I haven't tried before, it was pretty good and very affordable. My friend and I ordered the orange chicken and house Lo mein. We also ordered the kung pao chicken but it didn't look like anything we saw in the photos on yelp. The lunch plates came with crab puffs, we weren't informed of that so we ordered crab puffs at the beginning as appetizers and ended up having 10 crab puffs on the table. I really enjoyed the egg soup & made it a little more spicy with the side of spice sauce that was offered. The service was a little slow but I would be open to coming back to try new items on the menu.

Rachel O.

Yelp
Food is always amazing here and the staff is so friendly and welcoming! This our favorite Chinese restaurant in Tucson and everything we have tried is amazing.
google avatar

Random M.

Yelp
Tastes delicious!! We have ordered take out four times, always pick up, no delivery apps used. Each time we have ordered orange chicken, broccoli, and lo main noodles. Each time we have ordered our favorites the entrees come with a different amount of sauce, and even if the sauce is on the lighter or heavier side the food tastes amazing! Great price for the portions! It's always dinner for the two of us, and lunch the next day. I like the Chinese broccoli, but my husband thinks it's too bitter, and one time when we ordered it mostly all stem, but the other time (pictured) it was just what you'd expect when ordering broccoli, but because of that we just stick to ordering the regular broccoli now. 10/10 comfort food that's always dependable! Oh and the potstickers! Little dry for steamed potstickers, but the dipping sauce and cabbage strips they come with more then makes up for it. They were so delicious, I'd order them again!

Yelp
Holy cow! I don't know why but one day I had such a hankering for wonton soup which I hadn't had in years. I was wondering if they could possibly be a place in Tucson that would live up to my memories of some great Chinese soups I've had in my life and I had heard good things in general about China Szechwan, but oh, my goodness. Their large gorgeous bowl of wonton soup was not only the best Asian soup I've ever had, it was THE BEST SOUP period, I've ever had, and I am a soup person. The wontons were amazing as was the broth, but it really blew me away was all the other items, the chicken and various vegetables chock full. I made a little extra broth and I was able to have another whole meal out of it and as I am writing this review later, I am planning a trip over there this evening because writing about it has got me dreaming about it. I promise you it's that good.

Yelp
I thought I would try a different Chinese restaurant tonight. I don't understand the five star reviews this restaurant received from my fellow Yelpers. The flavor was pretty good. The service was also attentive. The food came out pretty quickly. But then we found hair in our crab puffs. Received orange soda instead of the orange juice ordered. You can barely find any chicken among all the vegetables in the Kung Pao Chicken. I really wanted to like the spicy fried eggplant with pork, but the eggplant wasn't that soft and the common theme of not being able to find the pork. The waitress had refilled our ice teas (3 of them) and mixed the cups up. We knew since one was unsweetened. Overall my dining experience was just average.

James M.

Yelp
They have the best Hot and Sour soup I've ever had. Everything else was great too, but wow, the Hot and Sour soup was amazing.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
I had dinner here tonight with four friends. We got hot and sour soup plus five entrees. Portions were large, and everything was delicious. The place was not crowded, so service was good too. Prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Easily favorite go-to place during the day for the lunch special. Can't beat a nice meal for $5-6 dollars! My favorite item is the Sesame Beef. Other delicious items I've tried were the Curry Beef and the Mongolian Beef. Can't beat the price and availability. Staff is considerate and very helpful too! Love this place!

Yelp
Our server was high energy. He was fun and knowledgeable. I had the salted spicy tofu.. delicious. Definitely returning to try more of The vegetarian options.

The ABC Peking Duck is awesome and a great value. The Crispy pork is awesome as well as the Water Boiled Fish. I want to venture out but always end up with the same dishes..LOL

Yelp
Great food, great service, nice waitresses this restaurant is great The orange chicken, the house fried rice And crab puffs are good i recommend Will be back!

Yelp
I went to China Szechwan because it had great reviews and I did not want to cook in yesterday's heat. The ambiance is unremarkable. A waitress in uniform stood gazing out into the middle distance after waving me to a table in the very, very hot restaurant. And stood, and stood and stood. Apparently, nothing I could do, short of waving my hands in her face could get me a glass of water or a menu. Finally, a very old lady nudged her and she put a menu, but no water, despite my request, on the table. It took a LONG time to get another person's attention to order and quite a long time for my egg rolls to come out. They were quite mediocre, but edible. The sauce for them was ketchup with... what? something mixed in. Not very appetizing. I ordered combination mu shoo to test the freshness of the ingredients and the wok skills of the kitchen. When it came, it and the pancakes were just barely above room temperature. I managed to get one pancake down and then decided to take the uninspired mess home to heat before eating. I asked for some Hoisin sauce and the waitress spent a LONG, LONG time in the back before emerging with the smallest plastic covered container I have ever seen. I asked for another one and a drama of major dimensions ensued. No, I was told. I could not have another container. I repeated my request over and over until finally the old lady went to the back and emerged with one. NO!, the waitress said and, taking an empty teeny, tiny container, filled it with the hoisin sauce the dish had been served with and thrust it at me. I went to the front desk to pay and the same surly waitress thrust a charge slip at me without letting me see it, spoke with another customer while she processed my payment and was pretty much as rude as she could be to a customer without actually spitting on me. No tip. I wish I had gone to the Kabul Corner next door! You can be sure I will not be returning to China Szwechwan.

Yelp
Tonight we order take out, the lady that answer my call asked me to wait because she was with other person, so I waited. About 5 minutes to wait until she finally took my order. She said around 20-25 mins. I said that I'll be there in 30mins. When I get there, they are pretty busy, they asked us to waited outside and wait to be called. Waited for another 25mins until they gave us the food. Why didn't she told me to come in 50mins so we didn't rush to go to the restaurant?! The food are good and delicious, it just the waiting is upsetting.
