Quietly enduring in Rockridge Plaza, China Town focuses on Chinese-American staples plus homestyle tofu and off-menu favorites. It’s a sit-down standby locals praise for personal service and consistent cooking, with hours, menu and updates maintained by the owners themselves.

I honestly would give them NO STARS if i could. Where do I start....Customer service skills were very lacking. We entered the restaurant and told the hostess that we would like to place a to-go order and she said okay and did not hand us a menu and began to help other guests. I had to ask for a menu. One of the waitress that did not help up with our Take-out order was not happy that we did not leave a tip....We normally leave tips if we dine in. The food was absolutely horrendous. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with Fried Rice and my partner ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both of the orders lacked flavor or seasoning. They both were the blandest food we've ever eaten. Our Fried Rice looked like regular White Rice.... Very disappointed with the food quality and customer service. Don't traumatize your taste buds with this "chinese food". It was the worst we've ever eaten.

Google
The best Chinese food I have had in Lubbock. The staff are super friendly and explain the menu into detail. The portions of food are also very generous and the food is very fresh. I ordered online and the food got to my location really fast. I recommend anything of their menu and would also encourage you to try their Chinese menu. Pepper steak 🤤🤤🤤👌👌👌

Google
Never have I ever had Hunan chicken that tasted so bad! Couldn't eat it, fried rice looks more like dirty white rice! Soy sauce was bad! I will not be back!

Sarah Gilliam

Google
I feel like family when we eat here. The food is so delicious and prepared fresh! They have the absolute best egg drop and hot/sour soup in town! We love it and our favorite is sitting at the family table with the big Lazy Susan!

Luke Trevino

Google
This is my absolute favorite Chinese place in Lubbock! They have good size portions (you can always ask for extra meat, rice, etc) and the food is great quality. We used to visit this place at least once a month before we relocated and it’s one of the few restaurants I really miss. I recommend the egg drop soup and General Tso’s Chicken!

Bradford Reeves (Musings Country Pastor)

Google
We love this place. Great non buffet Asian food. Everything is made fresh. We love wonton, egg rolls, and the farmer's delight.

John Burk

Google
This place is phenomenal! We eat here for lunch, and dinner often - in the experience is top-notch every time. The lunch specials are a great value, and the portion sizes are perfect. The service and the staff are friendly and inviting, they really treat you like you are a valued customer.

Google
There food was very poor i ordered a bunch of food and spend over 80$ and not a single dish hade any meat in it. I ordered a (Mongolian beef and I got onions and green onions) (chicken, Mei, fun I got noodles and onions and some eggs) ordered a (beef, fried rice and got rice and vegetables) ordered a (General Tao chicken, and I got breading no chicken ) so the only thing I got was good was the can of Coca-Cola. So all I’m saying is think twice before you order from them.

Yelp
This isn't the best chinese food, but it's pretty good anyways. I like that most of their dishes have vegetables. Try their hot and sour soup. Other positives: Consistently has great service Quiet atmosphere Short wait times

Gayla B.

Yelp
Always good! Decent prices. Great portions. Clean. Friendly. Food seems fresh. Close to my home.

Momoftwo R.

Yelp
We enjoy China Town very much. We often go in the evenings from 5-6, when the $8 lunch menu is still in effect. I want to mention on Yelp, it shows them being closed at night, but that is not true.

Yelp
Excellent food!! I've tried many of their dishes but my faves are Shrimp Cashew and Shrimp Fried Rice. The ingredients are always fresh and delicious. Plus, the staff is awesome!

Chollada G.

Yelp
Shrimp Lo Mein: Bland. General Chicken: Bland. Service was good, but disappointed in the food :,(

Yelp
We have eaten here for years. My wife and I have never had a bad plate of food. I have eaten at a lot of Chinese food restaurants in Lubbock and they don't come close to the quality you get here. Service is always excellent.

Trenton J.

Yelp
Phenomenal experience every time! A go-to Lubbock restaurant. My wife and I always enjoy the crispy orange beef, garlic eggplant, and domino tofu. Everything else we have tried has always been delicious. The service is always attentive and kind. Gracious hospitality. Highly recommend!

Cerise C.

Yelp
Once again a wonderful eating experience. The wait staff are kind, attentive and accurate. I had hot and sour soup, hubby had egg drop soup. We also ordered fried dumplings with sweet and sour sauce. The lunch special is only $7.00 and includes soup, your entree, either fried rice or steamed white rice and two won tons or an egg roll. I enjoyed the chicken chow mein and hubby had kung pao chicken. Always dependable always delicious.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Me and my husband loved this place! The inside is definitely dated if that's important to you, but the food is excellent. We ordered the wonton soup, fried cheese wontons, spring rolls, generals chicken, and the chicken in garlic sauce and it was all fantastic. My husband is still talking about how much he loved the wontons and it's been weeks. Will definitely be coming here again!

Yelp
This place is always so delicious! The takeout stays hot and the people are always so nice! We love eating here!!

Kirk M.

Yelp
The meal I got was pretty bland and portions were small compared to other Chinese restaurants. My wifes general tso's chicken was really good. The appetizers were all great and the service was fast for take out.
google avatar

Sheryl L.

Yelp
we were looking for a good Chinese restaurant for future take out. It didn't seem to have family style dishes, and the portions were small when we tried to eat them that way. We ordered a variety of food, but the sauces were all the same. will try other places before coming back here.
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
First time here. We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and this it. Food was delicious.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Been a patron for over 12 years and never disappointed. Best lunch special in town. We always get the hot and sour soup. The waitstaff is amazing and the food comes out quickly.
google avatar

Nathan L.

Yelp
Consistent, dependable, fast, and tasty. All of China Town's offerings taste a little bit better than they do at other restaurants. I'm not kidding. A good measuring stick is General's Chicken. It tastes relatively the same at every Chinese place that offers it. But not at China Town. They have something else going on in their sauce that elevates it a little more. Their Pork in BBQ sauce has a little more pick-up than other places. And when I order delivery, I am serious, it is at my house less than 20 minutes later. (It may help that I live a block away, but it's still really fast.) Thanks, China Town. You're a great part of our neighborhood.

Archie R.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! The service was great and the food was delicious. The prices were very reasonable. I had the shrimp chow mein and it was really good. The place was really clean. Will definitely visit again.
google avatar

Thomas B.

Yelp
Do not order food to go. They charge more and give you a smaller portion than they do if you eat it there. This is written after ordering to go in 3 different occasions.
google avatar

Roy B.

Yelp
We had a good meal here. The pork lomein was okay. Watery and pretty bland. The egg rolls were great. The sesame chicken was great. Also the egg drop soup was good as well.
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
Best Chinese in Lubbock! Never have I had a bad experience. BYOB is an added bonus to the great dining experience!
google avatar

Andy H.

Yelp
Family owned restaurant wit the best Chinese food in Lubbock by far. Great food service and prices.
google avatar

Zad D.

Yelp
Very nice people but the food is kinda mediocre. Don't give a lot of rice. But it's ok when there's no options

Susan W.

Yelp
Food is great but the ambiance is completely outdated. I have been going there since I was in my 20's and the food has always been good!
google avatar

Alicia D.

Yelp
I would like to start out by saying that I was really excited to try this place. After reading all the reviews it sounded like it was going to be great, this was sadly not the case. The chicken and egg roll felt to greasy there we're actual puddles of grease at the bottom of the container. The sauces felt to thin, it wouldn't stick to my chicken. Overall I wasn't impressed and I don't think I'll be returning.

Gary F.

Yelp
Seasoned chicken had little taste. Hot & Sour soup was watery and tasteless. Egg rolls were just bad. Menu said soup came with meal and I pointed to this on the menu when I ordered but they charged me extra for it. When I questioned this they said it only comes with meal for dine in customers and not take out? Then on top of this they charged me a service charge for it being takeout. A Ponzi scheme with bad food.

Heather Z.

Yelp
The orange crispy beef was amazing! The chicken fried rice was also really good. Definitely recommend it!!
google avatar

Willy L.

Yelp
My 1st time here at this restaurant. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce and I get 4 shrimps in there. I ordered pepper steak and please make it spicy. Not only did I only get about 3 pieces of steak and more vegetables and more vegetables I have ever seen. I don't recommend this place plus the woman had an attitude. It's just remarkable the more I remind myself not to go out to eat. You pay for something that's overpriced don't get what you ordered and then you get attitude on top of it. It's happening all over the place in Lubbock. So I disagree my experience really sucked!

Robert L.

Yelp
I went to China Town shortly before they closed today for egg rolls, hot & sour soup, and moo shu pork to go. They gladly made my order and it was delicious when I got it home. Never disappoints!

Yelp
The restaurant and the staff are very nice. The place is obviously very well taken care of and clean, including the women's restroom. I love, love Chinese food and we have been trying to find a restaurant in the Lubbock area that serves decent Chinese so on my way home I thought I'd run in and place an order to go. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken (my fav!) and an order of the cream cheese wontons and was looking forward to enjoying our meal when I got home but was disappointed. Not sure why but there are some places that we have tried in the past and for an odd reason their Kung Pao dishes have had an aftertaste of mothballs, which end up going onto our list of "no return restaurants" and unfortunately China Town is going on that list as well. We had very high hope's for this establishment but I would like to say that outside of the mothball flavored Kung Pao, the fried cheese wontons were delicious as well as their sweet and sour sauce but those alone won't get me to go back. I always order Kung Pao chicken when visiting a Chinese restaurant for the first time and that is what this review is based on along with cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant and staff attitude. I gave China Town 2 stars because of the staff and how the place appeared. If it weren't for those 2 things I would have given them 1 star.

Yelp
China Town is an excellent restaurant. We've been regulars for several years now. Every dish we have tried has been excellent, particularly the House Specialties. The service is efficient and the food comes out very quickly. We haven't ordered to-go, but they seem to do a brisk take-out business. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Colt C.

Yelp
Food was not very good at all. Vegetables looked like prepackaged not cut up fresh and the meat was very bland!
google avatar

Derick P.

Yelp
This place is always fast clean and really good. It's never slammed when we come right after lunch rush and everything is cooked fresh. Delivery is also fast and fresh.

Mariah D.

Yelp
This place is amazing and authentic. It's owned by the sweetest people and has been my favorite in Lubbock for years! I recommend the Kung pao chicken and general chicken with fried rice. Also LOVE the cheese wontons and egg drop soup! Highly recommend

Yelp
GROSS HORRIBLE The absolute worst Chinese food I have ever attempted to eat? Chicken Teriyaki, tiny, tiny giblets of a few pieces of chicken, multitude of many dark slimy pieces of mushroom, terrible, terrible tasting egg roll, spit out the one bite of it, and yellow yucky tasting egg drop soup I did not eat one drop , charged extra for cup of BOILING HOT Jasmine tea, total was $10.00 wasted, couldn't eat any of the entire meal but the rice with a tiny bit of "yucky" tasting brown teriyaki sauce. TERRIBLE ..... UGH......WILL NEVER RETURN..............

Allison G.

Yelp
I'm not one to usually leave reviews however my food was extremely disappointing. I got chicken egg foo young and it was over cooked and dry. There was also no chicken whatsoever in the patty's. My egg drop soup was good but china town is overpriced for the portions they serve and the food is subpar.

Yelp
I was hoping to find a nice Chinese spot in Lubbock for dinner like the one we love and frequent in Abilene. This was sadly not it for us. Really didn't like anything about it. Atmosphere-bad, food-bad (think La Choy fried in old grease and canned soups and sauces). Service was fine and friendly but we felt like we just wasted time, calories and money on this spot.

Yelp
Ok I ate off the authentic menu and it was the best thing I've ever had. I don't normally like Chinese food (probably because I'm eating the Americanized stuff) but this was the best!! I also tried egg drop soup and hot and sour soup both for the first time and LOVED them. I had the eggplant with pork. I also tried the double cooked pork and the pork in sweet bean sauce. All of it was so good! I think this was my favorite way to have ever eaten eggplant. The waitress was super nice and helpful in choosing what to eat. The restaurant was clean and comfortable! No wait at all. I love that they serve like wedges in water instead of lemon! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
The food here is really excellent! The service is great too. We were actually looking for a buffet but stopped here because it had the highest rating. We were glad we stopped here and didn't miss the buffet. It is a little more expensive than a buffet but well worth it. We see why it has the highest rating of all the Chinese restaurants in Lubbock. My only comment would be that I would like some music playing in the dining room but my wife liked the quiet atmosphere.

Melissa H.

Yelp
My grandson said he LOVES the eggdrop soup, the egg rolls, and the teriyaki chicken. Husband LOVES the cheese wontons and Hunan Shrimp. I personally enjoyed the Chicken chow mein. Everything was sooo hot and fresh. The service was EXCELLENT. We will definitely be back. AND-the restaurant was VERY CLEAN!

Yelp
Ok so here I am at a restaurant that I've never visited. The following is what I observed: 1. Bathroom was not cleaned. In fact I saw a friendly nat (we'll call him Fred) flying around. I can see it now; our friendly Fred drops on a ... well you get the ideal, then decides to go to the kitchen or wants to visit your booth - because remember, he's friendly, and lands on your food to have a little taste. 2. Decided to get the hot and sour soup for the appetizer and found it smells like the feedlot south east of town. Hum.... You know what they say; If it looks like and smells like, it must ... 3. Ok now for the main course - shrimp with lobster sauce. Outstanding! I have to admit, I have had several SWLS but this one ranks the top 5. It wasn't to runny and had plenty of big shrimp. 4. The staff of was extremely friendly and helpful. Thumbs up for this one. The total price was jut over $12. Overall it was a good experience. Just have the main meal and the world is good again. I believe I would return at a later date and see if Fred is still here.

Yelp
Food tastes great! Went here with some co-workers a while back and everyone enjoyed their meal. We went at lunch time and service was good and food came out quickly.

Yelp
So I'm relatively new to Lubbock so maybe I've been spoiled elsewhere, but if people think this is the best Chinese food in town I am definitely not going to be having Chinese any time soon! First of all, I will compliment the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and it was a nice quiet dining room. The food on the other hand left little to be desired. The wonton soup had three wontons dropped in what can only be described as colored water. Absolutely zero flavor. My wife and I put soy sauce in the bowl which helped a little bit still not appetizing. Next we had the combo appetizer. The egg rolls and dumplings were okay but still a little bland. The crab rangoons were flat and contained hardly any filling. My wife had the chicken lo mein. The noodles were bland and the chicken seemed to have a sour taste. My son had the orange chicken. While the sauce tasted pretty good, the chicken was rubbery and awful texture-wise. I had the sesame chicken. Again, the sauce was pretty good but it was covering the same awful chicken my son had. I was actually worried it wasn't cooked all the way based on the texture. (It must have been since we were all fine later in the day) Finally, the fried rice had a gummy texture and was extremely tasteless. In all, we walked out completely dissatisfied and $50 lighter in the wallet which was the hardest part to swallow (pun intended!) I'm not sure if it was just an off day since there are so many good reviews on here or if maybe their "to go" operation is a higher quality but we won't be back to find out. Sorry China Town, you failed us this visit. I am still stewing about paying $50 for such a disappointing meal...!

Daniel L.

Yelp
The lo main noodles were tasteless. The chicken was dry. Very small helping of fried rice. Fried rice was average. Only good part of our meal was the egg roll.
google avatar

Sheila M.

Yelp
Loooove looove this place. Best Chinese food. Everything taste so good. Not like a lot of them that taste the same. Delivery is quick too
google avatar

Haley G.

Yelp
Everytime I eat here it is delicious and the servers are so kind! I would recommend the Tofu and Vegetables
google avatar

Hunter S.

Yelp
As with many hometown Chinese restaurants lunch is the best time to go. Great prices and great service. It was a little empty for 12pm but everyone in the restaurant seemed to be regulars. The food was pleasant and I even had two bowls of egg drop soup. I'll be looking forward to trying all of the normal lunch specials. Also, the iced tea is really good!
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
If you are looking for great Chinese food, this is the place to go. The staff were friendly and helped us with questions and anything we needed. The food came out fresh and steaming. Paired with impeccable customer service China Town was delightful and we will be returning soon.

Kylie S.

Yelp
Incredibly overpriced and not good. The orange chicken isn't orange chicken and it leaves a weird texture on your tongue. My boyfriend asked for extra sauce and they made his beef and broccoli into a soup.

Robert B.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in Lubbock, I don't go anywhere else for Chinese. Everything is made with real, not prepackaged ingredients and is cooked perfectly. I personally like the hot and sour soup and General's chicken.
google avatar

Kelsey C.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem of Chinese food in Lubbock. And they deliver! Their food is AMAZING and if you get it to go there's so much sauce oozing out that they wrap it in plastic. Honestly best Chinese food in Lubbock.
