Yelp
I like this place b/c it's different - Chinese food w/ an Indian twist (very spicy Chinese food). And b/c I know the food will be super spicy after reading everyone's reviews, I tell them to make my food slightly less spicy than their normal spicy - and both times it ended up being "just right" for me ... i.e., spicy but tolerable :)
They have a 2nd location at Global Mall food court but Yelpers give this Decatur location higher ratings. I talked to the owner (?), and she said they own both locations and have the exact same menu. She thinks maybe the lower ratings are due in part to the food court ambience. At this Decatur location, order at the front and then they'll bring the food to you. Also they must not like washing dishes b/c everything here is paper products - plates, bowls, cups, utensils, etc.
MANCHOW SOUP W/ CHICKEN - $3
Ordered this b/c reviews were raving about it. Tasted like a version of Hot & Sour Soup except w/ lots of chopped cilantro, thinly shredded chicken, and it's super spicy. I thought it was very tasty. Perfect soup for cold weather and cilantro fans. If you're just wanting to sample, I think the portion is good for 2-3 people to share.
CHILI GARLIC NOODLES W/ CHICKEN - $7.50
Noodles were the thin & dry kind (vs. flat) w/ shredded chicken & veggies. Spicy and good but I probably wouldn't order it again. Portion was enough for 3 meals for me :)
CHICKEN BULLET DRY - $7.50
This dish reminded me of Szechuan Chicken. Tasted good - spicy fried chicken pieces, chopped garlic, red onions, and red peppers. Portion was enough for 2 meals. I probably wouldn't order this again either - but also b/c I'd want to try their other dishes.
SHAHI KULFI FALOODA W/ NUTS - $4
After reading Ebony B's review gushing about this dessert, seemed like I should order it too. It's almost like an Indian version of frozen mochi but also w/ noodles which gave it an interesting texture. Great dessert to cool down the mouth. Portion is good for three ppl but I somehow ate it all myself :)
Overall enjoyed eating something different. I'd recommend eating here w/ a group of people so you can try different dishes. Remember all their food is very spicy so if you're not a spicy food person, make sure you specify your desired level when ordering. I'd definitely come back - the folks here are very nice. Next time I'd like to try their version of Chicken 65.
FYI - located in the Patel Plaza, on the far left side if you're facing the front. Definitely check out Patel Brothers supermarket afterwards and feel like you're in India :)
