Beloved by the LSU crowd for fast, affordable classics like Singapore mei fun and the local-favorite “amazing chicken.” It’s a true neighborhood takeout joint with steady hours and a loyal following.

Google
Food was great, the Mai Fun Extra Spicy and Spring Rolls were really great. Provided exceptional service, we called in 9 minutes before closing and they made our food and waited to close until we got there. Atmosphere was a typical take-out joint. 10/10 Thank you Chinese Kitchen.

Google
Hands down best crab rangoon ever had. I've had this particular appetizer at several different Chinese take-outs or restaurants in various locations in Louisiana and this place does it right! Sweet & Sour Chicken also delicious, the batter is light and crispy. The dumplings we ordered fried were decent, but will try them steamed next time- purely a texture thing for me - not to reflect on the quality of food. Very Good food here and reasonably priced for the portion sizes you get.

Google
I have yet to find a Chinese takeout place to rival Chinese Kitchen. 100% without a doubt the BEST crab Rangoons I’ve ever had. Great lo mein and protein entrees too. The only thing I dislike is the fried rice, but they have so many other good things that I don’t even miss the rice. I graduated from LSU a couple years ago and still make the occasional 20+ minute commute to come here

Google
I got the shrimp lo mein. It was a huge serving, enough to feed 3 people. It was mostly noodles and shrimp, with very few vegetables. It was seasoned well. It's good for a cheap meal to feed lots of people or if you want to pig out a bit, but it wouldn't be my go to for feeding myself. They were just very typical Americanized noodles. It works for what it is, Americanized Chinese food.

Google
I call in orders weekly and it's ready within 5-10 minutes. Food is BUSSSIN (very good), fair price, and decent portions.

Google
I’ve eaten at a lot of Chinese places. This was the worst I’ve had for my money. The plates to go are little, there’s no seasoning and I paid extra for shrimp fried rice and I only have 3.5 shrimp. I ordered the pepper steak and onions; my bell peppers are cooked fully neither or the onions and it’s not seasoned. I won’t be returning here

Google
A little bit high but it a great buffert line of my favorite Chinese food love my Sushi

Google
The lady in the front was extremely kind and understanding, and the food was very well done and exceeded my standards. I acsedently ordered something by mistake and decided to leep it but it still tasted very nice.

Yelp
Decided to try this place bc of the good reviews. Almost chose a different place bc of the negative reviews on google, but it was only 6 minutes away, so we just went for it. My boyfriend got an order of orange chicken, and I got an order of singapore mei fun. Total was $26, which given the size of the portions, was quite fair as it's at least four meals. Both were delicious. The orange chicken had a perfect breading to chicken ratio. Bf said he would've preferred there to be more sauce on the chicken, and the singapore noodles were just a little dry. But they were very fast, fair prices, and still really good. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
The food is good and delivery is fast! It's always fresh and delicious. I ordered way more before they added a $4 delivery fee.

Yelp
Chinese Kitchen has always been a great spot for cheap Chinese take out! I recently tried their sweet and sour chicken and it was so good. I'm not the biggest fan of their fried rice so I subbed it for lo mein which is always my go-to there. They give a pretty good portion size for their cheap prices. If you go, I recommend the fried dumplings appetizers. They are so delicious and they give you a bunch! They're always quick and I never hesitate to come here when I'm in the mood for Chinese food.

Yelp
If I could give it zero stars i would honestly. There was hair, not like just one strand, but HAIR in my food. And it's like wrapped in the rice, which is absolutely disgusting. Goes to show that it's filthy and who knows what else goes on in the kitchen. My stomach is literally so upset rn.

Kelotta H.

Yelp
they were so rude and wen i went there i had money on my card and they had a lot of ppl around me and she said no money really loud and i showed her i had money and she still said no money and she looked at me mean

Yelp
Just ate this as hangover food. It did the job. The Orange chicken was crunchy and flavorful w/o being overpowering for the palate. Lo Mein noodles had great texture and loved the thickness of them! Egg rolls were what you'd expect, y'all should try it w/ the duck sauce! Egg drop soup was a little oily and not much flavor, but I still kind of enjoyed eating it. We loved the LSU tiger sports posters inside!

Kayla L.

Yelp
Great comfort Chinese American food. The lady was nice enough to walk out as we were leaving to tell us about an order mishap and corrected the order.

Yelp
Foods alright but I've tried to call and place a Togo and no luck. 3 different times in a week. So

Yelp
just a heads up if you are deciding to order something from here they stole my friends card information and used it to order stuff for themselves
google avatar

Yelp
Wow. Their egg rolls!! Delicious. Perfect. Don't know what else to say. That crunch. The Flavor. I don't usually leave reviews but.. Thanks for that experience. Ps: That "Kate W." Lady Calm down!!!! They probably don't want you back either. Will be eating here again.

Yelp
Food is generally ok. Phone service is subpar. Price and location are good however for the area and convenience keeps us coming back more than anything

Andrea S.

Yelp
Amazing food at a low a price! my girlfriend and I ordered a ton of food and it all came out around $30. and on top of that, it was all delicious! the fried dumpling and general tso's lunch special were particularly good. wish we took pictures before we wolfed it all down. this place deserves all the hype!

Yelp
Good Chinese food in Baton Rouge! The best place in the tigerland area! Try the spicy beef lo mein! Tremendous!

Karen L.

Yelp
We love Chinese Kitchen. This is our reliable, favorite for Chinese food in Baton Rouge.

Yelp
Quite disappointed after reading the reviews. As we pulled up we realized it was take out only. Being late and a beautiful day we decided to order and find a park to eat at. Also, we were from out of town. After picking up our food we were on the way to the park and realized we were not given any utensils. This is a pet peeve of mine. If I order take out, please provide utensils. Now the food: the egg drop soup was just ok. The crab and cheese wontons were good and the best part of the meal. The fried rice was yellow and had no taste at all. The mandarin chicken had a strange batter and the sauce was not like any mandarin sauce I've had. It was dark brown and super salty. The honey chicken was sweet but not the honey chicken flavor I'm used to. Definitely not a place I would go back to.

Yelp
Great taste/quality. I got the "amazing chicken" with Lomein noodles and egg rolls. Egg rolls were so good. Overall great experience.

Ashlan D.

Yelp
Always great food for a great price! Good customer service (straight to the point) is appreciated. Been coming here for years!

Yelp
I always order from this restaurant and usually the food is good but today the shrimp in my noodles were half cooked. I called to inform the restaurant and was basically called a liar and argued with. Sad to say I won't be ordering from them again. I really liked this place too. They could have handled it better. Was even told there was no manager to speak with.. I should not have to cook my 67 dollars worth of dinner after I order in. Ijs So thanks for ruining my new years dinner Chinese Kitchen.

Andy W.

Yelp
Don't listen to Emily T's review. She's clearly very insecure and paranoid. All she does is leave dumb 1 star reviews. She didn't even try the food at Chinese Kitchen. That being said, this place is AMAZING. Their crab rangoons are delicious. I LOVE the amazing chicken and the Singapore Chicken. Let me put it this way. I now live 6+ hours away and I make the drive whenever I can to go eat here. I hope Baton Rouge appreciates Chinese Kitchen. I would move back in a heartbeat if I could just to eat here more often.

Michael M.

Yelp
Close your eyes. Now imagine your local Chinese spot. This the local Chinese spot. 5/5 easy get the lunch

Yelp
Really good fried rice! It's really soft so I know that they use good quality rice. The owners are so nice and and sweet. They're also pretty quick to make your order. Even when it's busy, it's no more than a 20 minute wait everytime I've been. The beef lo mein is so yummy especially since I ask to make it spicy. They give it just the right amount of heat so that you can still taste the flavor of the dish and not just be numb.
google avatar

Sonnie W.

Yelp
The food is very very good, but the service is not. She was rude multiple times when we were ordering and would not speak when we asked if the food that was ready for pick up was ours or not. Would give 5 stars otherwise.
google avatar

Jasmine H.

Yelp
I've been looking for a regular Chinese place to go to and I believe this is it! Beef and broccoli was amazing!!! Also ordered the Honey Chicken kinda small and mostly batter so I won't be re ordering but it was pretty tasty!
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese place in BR. The food is made to order and it is always ready when you go to pick it up. My favorite dish is the Honey Chicken! It has that sweetness to it but isn't to sweet. Seriously, if you are looking for a cheap, good Chinese takeout, this is the place!
google avatar

Luke W.

Yelp
My favorite place to get Chinese food in Baton Rouge. The food is always good and you get a lot for your money, I usually get two meals from one order.
google avatar

Ashlyn S.

Yelp
This is by far the best chinese takeout I have gotten in baton rouge. Usually restaurants either wow me with the main entree or the sides, but I'm not generally crazy about both. Chinese Kitchen exceeded my expectations in the best way. We ordered the orange chicken with fried rice, and the honey chicken with lo mein. I also ordered crab rangoons and fried dumplings on the side. Everything was absolutely amazing and I look forward to eating here again. The staff was friendly and our food was ready super fast.

Edan S.

Yelp
Food is always fresh, fast, cheap, and delicious. Best Chinese spot in Baton Rouge without a doubt. I frequent this place and highly recommend!

Emily T.

Yelp
This Chinese place built a plastic wall and little doors to facilitate payment thinking this would comfort customers during covid but the cook isn't wearing a mask and neither is his partner who runs the register. I immediately returned my food. They make it safe for THEMSELVES not anyone else. I have no idea if these people have COVID? And yet he's cooking my Chinese underneath him? Disgusting. I will never return.

Alexandra D.

Yelp
I love everything I've tried here so far, to top it off, the staff are so friendly and sweet, will always be my local chinese take out place!
google avatar

Drew W.

Yelp
Came back after being away for about 3 years and it was just as delicious as before. The amazing chicken...amazing. Crab rangoons were delicious. If I could, I'd move back to Baton Rouge just so I could eat here more often. I miss eating at Chinese Kitchen a lot.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! I found this place on a whim one day as I was driving around because it's close to LSU apartments. I always order Spicy Shrimp Lo Mein, egg rolls, and egg-drop soup. This place is hands-down one of my favorite Chinese to-go places. Their service has been quick every time I've ordered over the phone or gone into order. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they always give you plenty of food for the price! LOVE THEM & recommend this place!
google avatar

Erin G.

Yelp
This is my go-to Chinese place in Baton Rouge. Mostly because it's 2 minutes from my house, but they always have excellent food. My usual order is the crab rangoon and the mapo tofu. Their mapo tofu is delish! They're always very quick and friendly too. I recommend takeout, as it's not really a sit down place.
google avatar

Kayla N.

Yelp
Favorite place to get Chinese food in BR! Reasonable prices with quality food. The spicy beef and shrimp dishes are my favorite.
google avatar

Preston B.

Yelp
Large variety of soups, mai fun, moo shu and other Chinese favorites. Great for some Chinese comfort food on brightside. Lunch specials (11-3) 30 items served with pork fried rice all $4.65.
google avatar

Hunter P.

Yelp
Best Chinese in Baton Rouge, large chunks of meat, large portions of food and great combos. Singapore chicken is the dank.

Denise W.

Yelp
This place used to be my favorite spot for good Chinese food. But, now it has fallen off since the pandemic. Today I ordered the broccoli and chicken lunch special with the spring rolls and needlessly to say I was surely disappointed. The rice was hard the peas and carrots was freezer burnt and the spring rolls tasted like they were old. This is the 2nd time I have been let down with my food order and the last time I spent almost $40 on me and my family here, and we trashed everything. I hope they get it together, again. Or I will have to find somewhere else to spend my hard earned money!!

Drew E.

Yelp
First of all before I walked in the place the door wide open surrounded by beggars. Then woman working behind counter arguing with a man about rice. The food took like 3 seconds to make, so I'm convinced they microwaved the food. Taste so bland no flavor on anything, eggroll taste like a frozen eggroll from Walmart. 0/5 if I could.
google avatar

Nick R.

Yelp
Food is Astronomical, Wonderful, Fantastical, Phenomenal, Exceptional, Astounding, Sensational, and Unprecedented
google avatar

Angelica S.

Yelp
Beef Lo kwon SPICY is the best. Food is also always hot when you order to go and ready in a timely manner.

Callie F.

Yelp
Best Chinese in this area. The employees are always super polite and on time. I order here almost every week.
google avatar

Aliyah C.

Yelp
i had this for the first time i do NOT eat chinese in baton rouge it's just horrible quality but this is the only restaurant in the city that will let you select white meat for any chicken entree!!! gets an automatic 4 stars. shrimp fried rice very bland with mushy shrimp but expected. overall great general tsos WHITE MEAT!!!

Chasity S.

Yelp
You honestly cannot beat Chinese kitchens lunch special, it's like $5 and some change for a big lunch! Never disappointed with Chinese kitchen
google avatar

Frank K.

Yelp
Excellent place for lunch or dinner. The couple who owns it work so very hard all the time and are always so friendly and helpful. The portions are huge and consistently good all the time. The wait is never very long even when their busy and the prices are by far the cheapest if seen in my travels.
google avatar

Ambrose S.

Yelp
Great Chinese food and available for take out. They don't deliver but it's worth the trip. Very small interior, not a great atmosphere for sit in dining but perfect for take out. The dumplings are superb and the General Tso's chicken makes me dream about going back for more at random times in the day.
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
Pretty even with Nine Dragon. Much better fried rice, but Nine Dragon's eggrolls stomp these. Still a really nice and clean place, and good food.
google avatar

Chiquitita A.

Yelp
Love it!! Its Amazing! Totally recommend it. Owners are really friendly and food taste is natural. Fast made.
google avatar

Paul H.

Yelp
I really like these guys. I've had nothing but the best service from them and they're always very quick about serving up your order. Great for a late bite.
google avatar

Angelica R.

Yelp
My order was completely wrong, the food was cold, and my eggroll tasted slimy and cold. Unfortunately for them, i will not be returning.
