"At Chinta, a Thai spot in Greenpoint, you can get things like a giant beef rib braised in massaman curry, or a $22 Esan set that includes a roasted half chicken, papaya salad, jaew sauce, sticky rice, and shrimp floss. But you can also get some less traditional bites, like spaghetti sai-oua, with sai oua sausage, bacon, basil, and pickled peppercorns. They’re open for brunch on the weekends." - will hartman

This place was so cute and clean. The food was an instant winner, especially their takes on crispy pork belly and prawns. The spaghetti was a nice fusion with a kick of a flavor. Would definitely come back here to get that crispy pork belly again and try some other items!

Best newbie Thai restaurant in Green point Brooklyn. The staffs are very friendly and the atmosphere so chick. Make sure you have reservations ready because it get packed pretty fast but they have small bar to wait and the have amazing drink as well.

Wonderful experience at Chinta! The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic. Loved the pomelo salad and the pad Thai supreme. The fish was a work of art and the Tom Yum soup was homely! I don’t think you’d go wrong with any dessert choices, so go wild!

Google
Chinta Thai is an absolute gem! The ambience is delightful, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The staff here are incredibly helpful and attentive, making sure that every aspect of our visit was perfect. The food was nothing short of spectacular. We ordered Pad Thai, the Pomelo with shrimp, prawns, sticky rice, and some light appetizers. Every dish was full of flavor, perfectly balanced, and not too spicy, which we appreciated. The portions were generous, leaving us completely satisfied. For dessert, we tried the Thai iced tea cheesecake, which was a delightful surprise! It wasn’t overly sweet and had an extra creamy texture that we loved. Chinta Thai has only been open for two months, but it’s clear that this place is going to be booked up for the rest of the year.

It is nice to finally have a Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. The food here is exceptional, been here twice, ordered few dishes, all tasted superb. Love the rolls, calamari, the spicy chicken rice is diva, must try.

Chinta Thai Review Chinta Thai offers a unique twist on traditional Thai cuisine—creative yet authentic. We tried the Esan Set with papaya salad, grilled chicken, and sticky rice. The salad was incredibly refreshing, and the chicken was perfectly grilled. The sausage spaghetti was another standout—rich, flavorful, and with just the right spicy kick. A must-try is their Chintarita cocktail—it’s truly out of this world! We also loved the crispy fig, which was bold, strong, and packed with flavor. The only downside is the limited space; without a reservation, we had to sit outside in the cold. But even that couldn’t take away from the fantastic experience. Highly recommend Chinta Thai for anyone looking for a fresh take on Thai food!

Google
Small cozy space on a busy street in Greenpoint serving decent Thai food. I’ve definitely had better Thai in a lot of spots but this place might offer more unique dishes - shown through a really cute menu. Sadly, space was small and service (+ glass and dinnerware) was disorganized and a bit sporadic. The space may feel cozy on a cold night, but its horribly small and I was constantly having people brush my table, even dipping their coats in my sauce or food nearby!! Got the pot of joy and pork belly stir fry dish which were alright but nothing special or phenomenal - protein was overcooked on both counts. Mango sticky rice did not have good mangoes and overall, everything was lacking a bit.

Yelp
Came here for a lovely dinner! Immediately I was charmed by the cute decor - their menus are inside books so it looks like you're reading when you're perusing the menu. We got the tofu massaman for an app, which had a great sauce. The real star were the mains, the pad see ew and the garlic sautéed (both with chicken). For some reason, I found the flavors to be extremely saturated and somehow better than normal versions of these dishes I've had at other Thai restaurants. Highly recommend. It came out to about $50 before tax and tip, which was very reasonable for a night out. Love this spot!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this moody yet inviting entrant into the Greenpoint dining scene for some time. I'm glad I finally did, as the "impossible" larb burger is one of the more exciting dishes I've tried so far in 2025. The larb burger is a reimagining of the classic Thai salad employing sticky rice as buns, served with a fire engine-red chutney that gives the dish some punch. (Practically speaking the burger needs to be de-constructed into classic larb form for consumption, but it's a nice aesthetic touch nonetheless.)

Yelp
Finally stopped by this cute spot that i've passed by a couple times! Good food and cute polaroid menu! Service was nice and quick

Yelp
There always seemed to be people eating here so we decided to give it a shot and we were not disappointed! Everything we had was flavorful, the right amount of spiciness and sweetness. Seating is limited but it lends to the intimate vibe and its elevated take on Thai food. My favorite dish was the aromatic short rib - they toast the spices table side, right in front of you which was a show itself. Can't wait to go again and try more dishes!

Yelp
4.5, rounding to 5. Chinta Thai is probably one of my top Thai restaurants in terms of flavor! We managed to snag a reservation for 6:30, for a group of 4. There was a bit of delay getting us seated, but we were in no rush. We started off with the Zaab wings and mushroom curry balls. Really great appetizers bursting with flavor. After, we got the Angry Duck, Pad thai, and Ribs. Out of these three, the ribs leaned more on the Chinese side in terms of flavor. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice and sorbet. Luckily, we caught the tail end of the mango season. These mangos were SO GOOD. This would have been a 5 star meal -- the only qualm I have is that the portions were small for the price we paid. But that's just classic New York, businesses have to make a living somehow.

Yelp
This place was so cute and clean. The food was an instant winner, especially their takes on crispy pork belly and prawns. The spaghetti was a nice fusion with a kick of a flavor. Would definitely come back here to get that crispy pork belly again and try some other items!

Yelp
This thai spot was a hidden gem! We visited Chinta Thai on a weekend afternoon and was able to get seated immediately. I was pleasantly surprised with the Zaab Wings, they were my favorite dish by far. It was heavy on the citrusy flavor, and not too spicy. I liked the Tom Yum soup, and the Pork Belly entree was good but could've done without. I highly recommend the Zaab Wings, but would probably skip the others when visiting again. The thai tea hit the spot, and the service was amazing as well! They changed our plates between dishes, and even gave us wet wipes before and after the wings so our hands were clean. I'd say the portions are pretty small for the price but still satisfying for us two. Can't wait to come back to try other options!

Yelp
Cute Thai spot in Greenpoint with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Food wise: Zaab Wings: 4.5/5, pretty solid, punch flavor. Not a huge fan of the texture where the seasoning is a rub on top rather than baked into some batter. Tom Yum: 3.5/5, classic but I've had better. Pork Belly Entree: 3/5. Not a huge fan, a bit disappointing, wouldn't get again. Would return and re-order the Zaab wings, but try new dishes beyond that.

Yelp
Amazing new Thai place in the area, and it really exceeded my expectations! I found this place on Yelp while just looking for a dinner spot with my friend in Brooklyn and we both left feeling content and full. First of all, the menu is just so cute like it's some journaling book, with polaroids of some of the menu items. I always appreciate having pictures of the dishes so I know what to expect. We got the recommended dishes and they were all so good! MOO PING BAI CHA PRU is a popular appetizer, and it was definitely unique and yummy. I wish they gave us more because it was so good! They torch the AROMATIC SHORT RIB when it comes out, which was a cool mini show to have (: Lastly the KA PRAW MOO KROB was my favorite, as the pork was so crispy and the marinade was really good! I appreciate the slices of cucumbers on the side as the entrees had a lot of flavor on their own and I needed a refresher. The space is a little tight, and it does get loud throughout the night from other customers, but I can tell that they are trying to accommodate to everyone as possible. The staff is also very friendly, so I will definitely come back to try their other dishes!!

Yelp
One of the best Thai places in Brooklyn that just opened. So happy that this place opened up and is close by to where we live. The weather has been unbearable lately, so my boyfriend and I ordered delivery. We got the Tom Kha, Green curry, Pad See Eew, Fried Rice, Wings, and papaya salad. There was an explosion of flavors and we were thoroughly delighted with the portions and taste. I would advise a little less salty seasoning on the wings as well as making the Tom Kha a little more soupy. I do love coconut so much, but I think if they made it more soupy with a little more chicken broth, it'd be perfect. Definitely will return and excited to dine inside next time with my boyfriend and or with friends. Already started raving about Chinta Thai to our neighbors and friends!

Bijan S.

Yelp
Okay this place is too good, I ordered the ginger soup with chicken and the tom yum both maybe my new favs. The chicken wings are sooo good too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I was craving Thai food so my friend went on a hunt to find some for me in the area and we came across Chinta Thai, what a surprise when we found out they had only been open for two days The calamari appetizer was undoubtedly the star of the show, a perfect mix of crispy and delicious. My favorite was their version of a papaya salad, the dressing was amazing and I'd go back just for that Lastly, we had the chicken pad Thai which was really good but I wish they had chili sauce If I wasn't so full I would've tried more things as their menu isn't your regular Thai spot and they seem to have a lot of seafood forward dishes that I will definitely come back for Such a good find, they were all so attentive and lovely Thank youuuu

Yelp
Guys, I haven't opened Yelp in months, but I had to do something to commemorate this meal I just had. I put some chicken on some sticky rice on some papaya salad on some lettuce. I drizzled some sauce. I put it in my mouth. And god damn it, it put me on another planet. So I did it again. And again. And if I didn't run out of food, I'd be doing it for the rest of my life. A sidewalk presence With food from a storybook I am still reading

Yelp
Long story short, this has got to be the most underrated contender for best Thai food in NYC. Chinta is a charming authentic Thai spot in Greenpoint worth a visit for a special occasion or a casual weeknight dinner. I came for a Saturday date night with a 6:30pm reservation (thankfully made several days earlier, as there was a handful of parties waiting for tables when I got there). Even with such a beautiful space and fantastic servers, the food is still the star here. For two people, we got 2 apps and 2 entrees -- calamari, wings zaab style, the supreme pad Thai, and the chicken set. Zaab style wings blew me away - the tangy Thai dry rub is a masterpiece. As a huge fan of SE Asian food, I'm always looking for the stamp for authenticity through the subtle yes unmistakable sourness of tamarind and lime juice. It's sour and spicy and just plain delicious. Calamari was good though not particularly memorable. No complaints but would definitely opt to try something more specific to Thai food next time. Supreme pad Thai - again, the perfect flavor profile of an authentic pad Thai, it balanced spice, sugar, and sour to make a stunning pad Thai. It's bundled up in a thin egg and topped with a crispy soft shell crab. It's a must ... basically the centerpiece for our dinner. Chicken set - this grabbed my attention for its variety, as the dish has 2 pieces of chicken, a tangy papaya salad, mixed greens, and sticky rice on the side. It also comes with pork rinds which we requested they leave off. The chicken is cooked well but the star for me was the papaya salad. Definitely want to come back and get some salads for starters because it works well as a palate cleanser. Chinta perfectly balances classy with cozy. It's a small shop yet has a full bar with incredible imaginative cocktails. We were at a bar before dinner so didn't have much appetite to drink but the cocktails are so intriguing I want to try them all!!! An awesome date night and the bill came out to just under $100 with food and a cocktail. I've paid much more for much less!! I really have no complaints and can't wait to come back. I just love trying new small businesses and I'm grateful to have found Chinta. Go Chinta! I'm a fan for life!!

Esther R.

Yelp
Highly recommend checking this place out! You really can't go wrong with their dishes, but I personally really enjoyed the slow cooked beef. The service was very quick and the staff were attentive to our table whenever we needed to add on a request!

Asma A.

Yelp
Middle of the road Thai spot with absurd pricing. I got the lunch special Pad See Ew and the Tom Kha soup with chicken. The soup was $14 and heavy on the coconut milk. I found it to be a bit out of balance and not very fragrant. It was more savory and I could taste and smell a lot of fish sauce. The Pad See Ew was average and the noodles were broken up, but I didn't mind that too much. The side salad included some brown wilted greens and an unappealing purple sauce. I did not try it. The spring rolls were fine but mostly comprised of noodles inside. I am hoping it was just an off day for Chinta Thai.

Ellice W.

Yelp
Got their chicken dish with sticky rice, tasted my friends mango mock-tail. The mango drink was very tasty - hints of ginger - and quite refreshing. Service was fast, but they were out of a few items we wanted. Chicken was a little dry and lacked flavor. Papaya salad was good but not spicy as I expected it to me.

Ashley W.

Yelp
I would say this was good but not amazing. Some things to note- service; very pushy- asked us 3x what we wanted to order before our last guest arrived. Really loud acoustics in the space, too small of a restaurant. I asked for an extra plate and the server gave me attitude about it. Don't feel that they have it really nailed down service wise. The dishes were beautifully presented and the food was good but there are better Thai spots. The chive pancakes and sauce was the best item we had. We also ordered crab fried rice and chicken pad Thai. Crab fried rice was overly fishy for my taste and lacked flavor and the chicken pad Thai was good but nothing special sadly. I really wanted to give this a better review but alas

Thani S.

Yelp
I love everything! The foods and the vibes! The Prawns garlic is the must! Absolutely recommend the place!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and service! Their menu is extensive and I love that they showcase signature dishes new to those like me who are not well versed in Thai cuisine. My partner and I started off with Thai tea and coffee (both delicious and not overtly sweet). For apps, I had the shrimp salad (tangy mousse with pomelo and delectable juicy shrimp) and my partner had the grilled pork wraps which he said were phenomenal. For mains, I had the grilled prawns (GET THESE), the sauce is sweet and sour and umami and the prawns were grilled to perfection. My partner got the Kao Soi Gai which he said was delicious and noodles were cooked perfectly. The dishes also come out so beautifully, and the table next to us was like what did you order?! My only complaint for the restaurant is they ran out of their Mango Sticky rice dessert...was a bit bummed on that one. I guess I will have to go again and try it. 5/5, highly recommend!

Aishwarya S.

Yelp
I was really eager to try this place, and it lived up to my expectations. My friends actually enjoyed it even more than I did. It's a cozy spot, so it does get quite crowded. Although we had a reservation for our group of six, we still had to wait a bit due to the restaurant's small size. However, they were pretty efficient. The food was tasty, though I was most excited about the Angry Duck, which turned out to be my least favorite dish. The short ribs were huge and delicious, and since there was only one dessert option, we decided to skip it. Overall, it was a great place for dinner.

Sunny X.

Yelp
Food tastes super authentic and good value! Great addition to the neighborhood - they'll do well!

Helen C.

Yelp
an absolute gem of a restuarant ! happened to stop in for lunch on their second day of opening and it was some of the best thai food i've had in new york -- super flavorful and v reasonably priced for the quantity + quality ! the restaurant is pretty small, but they've done a great job with the details from the cute lil bar area to the bound book menus. will definitely be coming back whenever i'm in the area !!

Jonathan E.

Yelp
1st try was a charm! I really enjoy tom yum soup and have tried it all over the world. Excellent! And I do mean Excellent. The Pad Thai was very good. Again my go to dish when visiting a new restaurant and it was on point. The ambiance was comfortable although the space is a bit smaller so was a bit loud. Staff was nice, accommodating, but could have been a bit warmer on the personalities although the hostess was very welcoming with a great smile. All in all, my new Thai spot in Brooklyn. Thanks

Natalie S.

Yelp
The BEST pad see ew I've had in all of New York, which is saying a lot since it's my absolute favorite meal and I've tried it at places all over the city. The staff are so sweet and attentive, vibes are great, awesome cocktails. But my hands down favorite part was the creativity with the menu - they have Polaroids of the food items which was a such a unique and personal touch, just like the rest of the restaurant.

I. O.

Yelp
The classics don't disappoint, and I highly recommend going out of your "usual Thai order" comfort zone at this place.

EJ H.

Yelp
Everything was excellent. One of the best restaurant experiences we've had in some time. No, the place is not exotic or fancy, but some of the best tasting food we've had. The service was great. Our server was both helpful and very friendly.

Maria F.

Yelp
Excellent food, the service is great too. We went there on a weekend in the city, and we were so happy we did. The food is really good, definitely make sure to get the Pomelo Salad. So many flavors!!! We are very sensitive to spicy food and they had a number of options that weren't spicy, so we appreciate that. Will absolutely return. Great ambience, location. Only positive things, honestly. Very happy we found this spot!!

Natthida R.

Yelp
Chinta is SOOOO good!! Cozy and cute thai restaurant in Greenpoint. First thing the menu was the cutest one (). The food was amazing. I love everything we ordered. My fav dish is Spaghetti Sai-Oua. It's flavorful and delicious. The snapper was really good too. Definitely coming back to try the other dishes.

Fiona D.

Yelp
The food was soo good here! I'm usually quite picky about Thai food, but we really enjoyed the calamari, supreme pad thai, and ka praw moo krob. The prices are super reasonable, but with how good this place is, I wouldn't be surprised if they were raised in the near future--but I would still come!!

Khwantiparn M.

Yelp
Best thai fusion food in Brooklyn *-* everything was so delicious. Must try Spaghetti Sai-Oui

Farah W.

Yelp
Ordered chicken pad ke mau for delivery to see if this place was worth the hype and it was! Delicious!

Jemma L.

Yelp
gooooooodddddd but pricy for what it is. also i dont think it is authentic thai... tbh ??????

Dikyi U.

Yelp
Wow, where do I even start? The food, the ambience, the people - it was all incredible. Chinta is a new greenpoint gem, serving up tantalizing contemporary thai cuisine. This cozy nook lets the food shine; every bite was an elevated experience that showcased a burst of flavor with sophistication and care. The Zaab wings were a hit for this very reason, while the classic version had a beautifully balanced subtlety (a personal favorite of mine). It was also indulgent and rich with standout signature dishes like the Angry Duck and the Pad Thai (served with a whole soft shell crab on top). Every dish knocked it out of the park - and this was just on DAY ONE. The dinner lighting was a romantic candlelight ambience, perfect for dates and friends to share drinks and laughs. The staff and owners were so attentive, kind and thoughtful. There was so much attention to detail in the food, the ambience and more. The menu was a book with bookmarks and polaroids - a homemade touch, with space for patrons to leave love notes. I can't wait to be back to try the brunch menu!

Michael B.

Yelp
Food was great. TOO LOUD and cramped. Need liquor license. Great staff. Spaghetti thai unique and delicious

Wipawee W.

Yelp
A very impressive restaurant just opened in Greenpoint! I love their Polaroid-themed menu. I tried the Supreme Pad Thai with soft shell crab, Pomelo Salad, and Khai Ka Ta--rare finds in NYC. The Thai tea cheesecake was a must-try! I went back for crab fried rice and pandan pancake, both delicious. Ma Muang is perfect for summer, and the Thai tea is a must-have. The service is sweet, everyone is lovely, and the vibe is adorable

Mr. A.

Yelp
Good food. Great friendly staff. The crispy pork belly was delicious. Tasty wine selection.

Georg A.

Yelp
My funeral came before my food did. Order here if you're a fan of extreme patience. Good luck

Theresa T.

Yelp
Had the most delicious dinner at Chinta Thai. The atmosphere is perfect and the service was amazing, but the food was even better!!! If you're ever in the area you must try !!

Dor S.

Yelp
Great food, presentation and location. Fell in love with the pad sea ew and chicken wings. Great addition to Greenpoint!

Holly F.

Yelp
I've been 3 times since they opened, always perfect ! we keep coming back because the food is amazing, the service is great, love the ambiance so much, and the people who work there are so friendly. ten out of ten!
