Chip City

Needed something sweet after dinner. Good selection of thick cookies, which I love. Had the basic chocolate chip, was average flavor but nice and soft. Also had their butter cookie with biscoff filling, this one was very good. Chocolate chip has to be top notch for a cookie shop. Nice clean location which also offers drinks. I would visit again to try other options.

Chip City on Chicago Ave has the best atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. Their cookies rotate every Friday which gives you unlimited options each week. We got a three box with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Oatmeal Crème Pie, and Oatmeal Apple Pie and each flavor was phenomenal. FYI it’s not your normal cookie these are so unique! Will definitely come back soon! P.S. they have a photo booth within the shop to enjoy with friends, family, or with yourself & your cookie!!

We decided to take a trip to try as much Chicago style pizza as we could and this was one of the spots we walked by on the way! We tried the Peanut Butter Cookie and it was delicious! The service was good and the store was clean! I would definitely recommend going back!

I have been visiting the Gold Coast location for a while and have spoiled many of my friends and family members with these outstanding cookies. My family, friends, and co-workers love the feeling of Chip City! Heck, my mother has had these cookies for breakfast on a few occasions. I have to acknowledge the great and outstanding guest service Brian, Stephanie, & Kere provide each time I visit their second home. Thank you, Team Gold Coast for making so many people feel good during the day or day(s)!!

Cookies are great and the staff is amazing. I come here very often and always enjoy trying new flavors. Really appreciate the staff. Also love that they're open pretty late lol

11/6/2024 Hello! I went here for a dessert. Highly suggest. The cookies were amazing, but there is one thing. I would not recommend eating it in one sitting, as it is very, very sweet. But other than that it was perfect. The service. The service was great in general. He was very patient with us. So yeah. The atmosphere is one of the best things I’ve seen. They had a PHOTO BOOTH INSIDE! I also like the vibrant baby blue but it’s a bit too much at night as your eyes aren’t used to it. Overall great cookies, good service, and THE BEST ATMOSPHERE. Have seen this place multiple times when downtown and today was the day we decided to try it. The interior is cutely decorated and there is a large variety of cookies. Service was fantastic. We purchased the smores, chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and one with fruity pebbles. The cookies are delicious and have a homemade flavor to them.

Been a regular since I've been coming here for the past week. Service was amazing when I first came in a week ago and cookie was absolutely fresh and delicious! However, I came in right when the store was opening and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in the service. it seems like I was inconveniencing the gentleman in dreads. Unfriendly and rude and was very short with me. If this is the service a bakery has to offer, then I will not be returning.

So there are many cookie places in the city... but this has some of my favorites. I really love their chocolate chip. I put it over Levain as it has more cookie taste and less chocolate onslaught. It's less sweeter than Crumbl. Now I don't think it's as good as some of the local bakeries (looking at you Beatrix and BFC) still do it better. I would stick with their chocolate chip though. I have tried many different flavors and found them all too sweet. Their chocolate chip is a perfect balance of everything. Definitely check this place out! Worth the trip.

While wondering around downtown Chicago after dinner, we were after a sweet treat and Chip City happened to be right around the corner. We popped in a scooped up a few cookies to take back to the hotel and enjoy. The cookies were great, quite large, but I really enjoyed the fact that they were not overloaded with icing. We had a classic chocolate chip, oatmeal apple pie and cookies and cream. No issues with any of the three! The space is small, but mighty and bright and even features a picture booth! Also, service was friendly and helpful. Overall, solid spot for a cookie run just a block off Michigan Avenue!

I recently had ordered from here and was very happy to see they have dairy free options. Since I did not dine in; I can't comment about the ambience or service. We got dairy-free chocolate chip and triple chocolate cookies. Even though I don't have a sweet tooth, these cookies were yummy. They came warm and soft with crispy edges. They're low key better than Crumbl cookies, Highly recommend for anyone looking for dairy free cookies!

Popped into this little cookie shop while I was in the neighborhood running errands. As soon as I walked in, service was friendly and extremely attentive. While perusing the many options, I asked about the "crookie" which is apparently a croissant/cookie mashup but you have to order ahead of time. Instead, I went with a classic cookie butter cookie that tasted exactly like a biscoff. Outside edges were a little too crispy for me but the middle was perfection. Couldn't believe 1 cookie was $6 and over 600 calories - yikes! Definitely would choose these cookies over Crumbl tho (whose cookies I find too sweet). I ended up taking my order to go since there isn't any indoor seating but they do have a cute photo booth!

How funny it is for me to go to Chip City in Chicago- I live in NYC and haven't had the chance to go to any of the chip city's there I think Chip City is way way better than Crumbl cookies. I've found their cookies to be substantial and not undercooked. We got: captain crunch, smores, cookie butter, chocolate chip, and cookies and crème (my fav!). As with all good things, we made sure to savor them in small chunks. We cut each cookie in 1/4 or 1/8 slices.

So excited that Chip City is now in Chicago!! I signed up via their app to receive a free cookie which was such a fun way to try it out! I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and they still were cranking out fresh warm cookies. The staff were so kind! There isn't really anywhere to sit inside; it's more of a pick up spot. Everything looked amazing but I decided to get the s'mores cookie and it did not disappoint! Crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. I loved the marshmallow. I can't wait to try more of them! Compared to other similar cookie places in the city, chip city has more competitive prices (under $5) and the 3 cookie box deal is awesome if you are coming with others! Will be back!!

Think Crumbl concept with levain style cookies. Lots of unique and rotating flavor selections, but each cookie is big, thick, and scone-like. We tried the dark chocolate peanut butter, cannoli, blueberry cheesecake, dairy free brookie, chocolate chip, captain crunch, cookies and cream, and s'mores. Honestly the chocolate chip was probably the best. Nothing else was that special- I personally liked levain better but overall like thinner cookies better. Will have to try w ice cream next time! I do like that they have those options. Also there's a fun Photo Booth inside!

As a Cookie Monster My self, and not a crumble fan, these COOKIES ARE INSANELY DELICIOUS and flavorful!!! I had them delivered to our hotel and still nice and warm!!! I also bought a cute little cookie pin for my backpack! And it's Super cute!! I am not a local, and I want these in Coachella, California!

Very large cookies! They're really good, but definitely expensive for what you're getting. I got chocolate chip, smores, and brookie. Delivered, so I can't comment on service or location. Very very sweet if you have a sweet tooth! For me, I had to eat in multiple sittings.

These cookies are delicious. They cost more, but so worth it. Nice and friendly staff at all locations.

Was curious to see how this compared to Levain and Crumbl. Got the brookie which was hard on the bottom. After microwaving it, the texture and brownie portion were better. The other cookie, cannoli, was tastier. The sugar cookie base was just sweet enough and the cannoli cream didn't overpower the cookie. Average cookies, to me on par with Crumbl but not as good as Levain.

This's the first chip city location in Illinois!! We're so excited to try it. We wanted to see if it's worth the hype!! The French toast cookie was really good, it's their special for the week, and with the maple syrup and powdered sugar! It's legit like eating a slice of French toast but in cookie form. Their cookie is more of a cakey texture! The s'more's one is also very good, chocolate chip cookie with toasted marshmallow on the center. The biscoff cookie was kind of plain, it's like a plain cookie dough with some biscoff filling inside. There's wasn't enough filling inside however, it's not as flavorful as the others. Overall, the decors inside are very cute, there's also a photo booth inside! I'd purchase it again, and possibly try out other flavors!

The cookies were absolutely delicious, buttery, and perfectly sweet. Brian was incredibly helpful, going out of his way to make sure everything was just right.

Ahh! The first one in the state. They're going to open three more in the city and one in Vernon Hills before the year is over. "Their comin' in hot." The staff and service is excellent.

I had heard of this place on social media. The decor inside is very very cute and they sell their own merch. The service is decent; I was helped by a young gentleman who was kind and answered my questions. I ended up with three of the traditional cookies (smores, chocolate chip, cookies and cream) and one thin double chocolate chip cookie. They are all very large, with the traditional being thick like the cookies from Crumbl or Levain. The flavors were great. My favorite was by far the thin cookie. My personal preference is thinner cookies anyway, and this one did not disappoint. I'll be coming back to try more flavors!

Listen!! I was looking for a bakery and k saw this cookie shop! I saw the deals and tried their 3 cookie deal! Bayybehhh, these cookies were delicious! I got the cookies n cream, cookie butter, and s'mores cookie and they were amazing! They were bigger than expected.

we tried three different types of cookies from here last night, and I have to say, each one was worst than the last. Very disappointing, these cookies are average at best. They are over prices, over hyped, and definitely over sized. I am sorry for the bad review, but they were honestly that bad.

I could eat these every day!! They have 2 vegan flavors: chocolate chip and cookie butter and they're both delicious so happy they came to chi town!

My family was sincerely disappointed by these cookies. We got a 6 pack (it was $25?!) and had a nibble of them all. We were absolutely shocked at how dry, bland, and hard these were. Not hard in a good crunchy way, but in a bad texture way. Not a single one was better than the others. None of them got finished and they all got tossed. I was excited to find an alternative to Crumbl (which I usually find too sweet) but these were just terrible cookies. I'll continue to support small businesses like Sweet Mandy B's and Cloud Cookie instead of this place.

Best cookies in the city by a mile! Tried a lot of the locally owned places and they honestly all kind of sucked. This is the first spot I've found that is much better than Crumbl. Definitely will return!

These were some of the most delicious cookies I've ever had! Even with delivery in Chicago's frigid cold, the cookies arrived warm and perfectly gooey in the center. We tried the Chocolate Chip (10/10), Cosmic Brownie (10/10), and Oreo (9/10)--all absolutely delectable. To our surprise, the cookies were impressively large, comparable to Crumbl Cookies, but in our opinion, they tasted even better. Next time we're craving cookies, we won't think twice about ordering from this spot!

My cookie was just how I like them soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside. My cashier Abigail was patient and answered all of my questions. The store smells like homemade cookies.

Cookies are delicious and coming from someone who makes and bakes cookies as a side job, that's saying a lot. I've had crumble and other chain cookies, but this one tops them all! So good, make sure you stop in and try one of your are near one, your tummy will be glad you did.

These cookies were like biting into pure cardboard! I couldn't believe it. it also tasted like they forgot to add sugar. Save your money and go somewhere else.

McDonald's cookies are far better and cheaper don't bother coming to chip city it tasted like cardboard.
