"I'm reporting that Chip City, a New York–based cookie chain that debuted in Queens in 2017, is opening its first Chicago outpost in the Gold Coast on Friday, April 26, 2024. The chain — started by Peter Phillips and Teddy Gailas and backed in part by a $10 million investment from restaurateur Danny Meyer — already has 35 locations across New York, New Jersey, and Florida and expanded into the Washington, D.C., area last year; Chicago plans also include spots in Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, and Lakeview. Chip City rotates through more than 40 flavors annually (examples include peanut butter & jelly, oatmeal apple pie, cannoli, and blueberry cheesecake) and is also offering a new “Chip Crookie,” a croissant stuffed with cookie dough." - Ashok Selvam
