Chocho Hot Pot - Review - Katy - Houston - The Infatuation

"ChoCho Hot Pot in Katy is basically a Vegas buffet with bubbling cauldrons of soup at every table, complete with lush emerald-and-gold interiors. This Vancouver import gives you 120 minutes of all-you-can-eat hot pot for $48.99, and each person gets their own pot with split broth options like tom yum or sukiyaki. Beef reigns supreme, while a garlicky house sauce poured tableside adds an unusual fine dining touch. The seafood shines too, with sweet abalone and tomalley-filled, head-on South African shrimp displayed so prettily you’re almost loath to mess them up. There's even a dim sum station, though the steamed dumplings are unremarkable. Save your stomach the peach rings from the Dylan’s Bar-style candy station and at least a couple of the exceptionally creamy, custard-filled Portuguese egg tarts. Kids under 10 eat free with each paid adult, and late-night diners score $10 off." - Mai Pham

When you walk in Chocho Hotpot, the space feels big, clean, and nicely decorated. There are plenty of tables and chairs, great for families or groups of friends. Each person gets their own hotpot, with different broth options like spicy, mild, or rich. The pots look neat and well-prepared. The “Market Table” has lots of fresh ingredients like beef, seafood, vegetables, and hotpot-friendly items. There are also dim sum dishes and milk tea with fun, unique toppings. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy hotpot—delicious food, nice atmosphere, and plenty of choices for everyone.

Absolutely delicious dining experience. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. The veggies, sauces, seafood were organized and beautifully displayed. The dishes were well stocked. The service was excellent! The water cups were consistently being filled and a carafe was left at the table too, however, they would often come by and refill our water cups. The flavors were delicious. The soups had a nice depth to the broth. The meats were thinly sliced and bright out quickly. Some of the ramen noodles were freshly made. Although, you could choose your fried versions to add to your hot pot. As we ate over lunch, it was $49.99 per person so this is not an inexpensive meal, although I’d say the quality of the meat and seafood and Service made it worth that higher price point. The restaurant ambience was very inviting and Felt luxury. I even like they gave us aprons/bibs as we were in dress shirts and ties. Clean and Wall presented and while organized restaurant inside and out. Would highly recommend and look forward to going back. Note my rating system: 1 Star: I wouldn't recommend 2 Stars: Didn't hit my standards 3 Stars: Average (nothing special) 4 Stars: Above Average. Would recommend. Still looking for the 5 Star. 5 Stars: Top of their game. Great food. Great service. Would recommend and plan on returning.

My visit to Chocho Hot Pot was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The restaurant has a clean, modern design and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I loved having my own individual pot—being able to choose my own broth and customize everything to my taste was a game-changer. The buffet selection was incredible, from fresh seafood and premium meats to handmade dumplings, noodles, and a wide variety of vegetables. The dim sum offerings were also a nice surprise—especially the BBQ pork buns and shrimp dumplings. The sauce bar was well-stocked, and the dessert options, like fresh ice cream and sesame balls, made for a perfect finish. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. Even though the restaurant was packed, the staff remained attentive and friendly throughout our meal. Our server checked in often without being intrusive, and the manager, Gino, made a point to visit our table several times to make sure everything was going well. It’s rare to see that kind of hands-on attention during such a busy night, and it made the experience feel personal and thoughtful. Gino’s genuine care and the staff’s professionalism truly elevated the evening—Chocho isn’t just about great food; it’s about feeling taken care of from start to finish.

Chocho Hotpot in Katy delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was warm and welcoming, and the service was truly exceptional. We chose the pork broth, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, comforting, and full of depth. Every ingredient we added, from the thinly sliced meats to the fresh veggies and noodles, was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The sauce station had an amazing variety, making it easy to create the perfect dipping combo. A special shoutout to Gino, the manager, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and our experience. You can tell he really cares about the guests and the quality of the restaurant. If you're a hotpot fan—or even if it's your first time—Chocho is a must-visit. Incredible food, thoughtful service, and a manager like Gino who truly elevates the whole experience. Thank you to Gino, Anthony, and Jerry for serving us. Can’t wait to come back!

Experience was nice but not so sure about coming back! Our server is friendly, attentive, patient to explain everything to new customers. Interior is definitely nice and bright! Utensils need a little more attention :/ Price is a little over for the food options tbh! 9 options of meats which includes beef, chicken, pork and lamb! Slides are surely thin but I think it works fine for hotpot! Broths can use a little more flavor. Good desert options, they serve ice cream as well! Did my reservation so no waiting! We came after 9pm so price was 39.99, and I still think there are better options out there in Houston area

For the price, the selection of ingredients felt a bit limited, though everything we tried was fresh. The dim sum stood out as the highlight — flavorful and nicely prepared. The broth was on the lighter side, which some might enjoy, though I personally prefer a richer taste. The atmosphere was pleasant, making it an overall decent dining experience.

A brand new AYCE Hotpot in Katy! I had a wonderful experience! Delicious hotpot with great varieties of meat, seafood, veggies, and snacks etc. What I love is not only they offer individual pots but also they have half and half options for the soup base. Great service too! The manager Fiona even came to check on us several times to make sure we enjoy our meals. They also offer house made cocktails. We got the grape and watermelon ones which were pretty good. They were a bit sour but I didn’t mind. Overall, it’s worth it to try!

We made a reservation at 9pm for our family of 5 adults, 1 toddler and a newborn. This is a new plaza, so there were plenty spaces for parking- that’s a plus for weekends dinner, since most of places in Katy circle usually hard to find parking. The check in process was quick, and we were seated right away (no wait time). They had utensils and toys for kids (that’s a plus). It’s still crowded when we arrived, the staffs kept refilling food and dessert to all the stalls. What caught our eyes was the interior design, nice and sleek with Chinese traditional arts and details. The selection for meat, seafood and vegetables was decent, not too many to choose from compared to other AYCE, but they were fresh and nicely presented. The broths (we had tomyum, Spicy, and mushroom) were okay, they were too light for our liking compared to others hotpot places (Hadilao, ShabuEn, Xiao Long Kan…), but the dipping sauces can enhance the flavor a little. My family was more impressed with the dessert and dimsum counter - highlights were the Salted Egg custard steam Bun 👍🏻🫶 (its Filling was HOT, so be careful when eating) and the Egg Custard (its Filling has a twist compared to regular egg tarts because they have some kind of berries filling at the bottom of the egg tarts). Ice cream 🍦 were good 👍🏻, and my nieces also have some dessert with red beans & coconut milk with some cute Panda 🐼 . We enjoyed our time here with the friendly and kind help from Kevin and the manager. They were very attentive and friendly overall.
