The service was friendly and the food came out incredibly fast. Everything tasted amazing!! The green beans and cucumbers were fresh, the chicken was crispy, and the noodles were rich. I can’t wait to come back.

Google
Hands down the best orange chicken I've ever had. It's so crispy on the outside and juicy once you bite into it. The sauce is glazed on the chicken perfectly! I also recommend the spicy green beans and green onion pancake. Everything i tried was great but to clarify, the orange chicken is next level!

Google
We visited for dinner and ordered Chicken in Garlic Sauce, a Shrimp with Vegetables dish, and A-Choy. The food was fresh and tasty. Some of the wait staff didn't speak English well, but others do so we were still able to order. Nice people here. Worth checking out!

Google
Flavorful Sichuan style Chinese food. Quantity was appropriate for the price, although the beef dish was the most expensive and for this I would've expected more. Got: Thinly sliced beef with pepper, pork with bamboo shoots, combination fried rice, and fish with salt & pepper. Also got fried rice cake with brown sugar syrup. My favorite dish was the fish with salt & pepper, it was perfectly crispy and seasoned. The pork and beef were too salty for my liking, and are best eaten with white rice which I unfortunately didn't have since it cost $1 for and I didn't want to spend extra money on rice if I was gonna have fried rice. Fried Rice was a huge quantity but it correlated well with the asking price so I can't be upset with it but I did wish for a little more meat, but overall flavor was fine. The service was good and the workers were attentive. The fried rice cake wasn't as great as I was expecting. I would've wanted a crisper exterior with the mushy, soft interior, inside the outside was still pretty soft. The brown sugar syrup was too sweet for my liking and I wanted to have it watered down. Overall, a nice place to try.

Google
We enjoyed the pigs snout, Dan Dan noodle and jelly dessert, but kidney we ordered was so smelly that I had to send it back. I have had pork kidney before and understand it has a certain smell but not to this extent. They seem bothered by my request but accommodated anyways which I appreciated. It was subbed by orange chicken, not to our liking unfortunately. Inside the restaurant feels a bit humid and the customer service was barely there, they were eating the same time we were eating there.

Google
The food here is pretty good! I especially love their shrimp fried rice and pork with garlic sauce. Generous portions, quick service, and very affordable. Definitely a solid spot for a satisfying meal!

Google
Can't comment on service or atmosphere, carry out order. But if someone you know is allergic to shellfish, do not even order the chicken fried rice. This went from opening the food, first bite, to throwing up very quickly and finding multiple shrimp in the chicken fried rice shortly thereafter. Can not recommend. Food allergies can be a dangerous game to play. I picked up the order less than 10 minutes ago. Normally I'd take my time to review properly but this is not acceptable. At this point I would assume they have a chicken and shrimp combination that they tried to pull the shrimp out of. I do not know what happened, but I personally will never return.

Google
I came here to try their sesame chicken. My husband got the beef with peppers. Both were delicious. If you can’t handle spicy food ask to make the beef with peppers less spicy. It was filled with peppers and dried chilies. Super spicy. I would like to come here again and try something new.

Yelp
I never realized this place was hidden in this plaza until I found it on Yelp! I'll get right to it and rate the dishes I tried. Szechuan fish soup: 5/5 - this was the best version I've had anywhere. The broth was very flavorful with just the right amount of spiciness. The bite-sized pieces of fish were catfish I believe which is better than tilapia in my opinion. I couldn't get a photo since we devoured it so fast Dan Dan Noodles: 3/5 - the noodles had a nice chew to them, but the dish was slightly lacking in flavor, compared to others I've had. Mapu tofu: 3/5 - there was no ground pork in this dish, which I think would've added a lot of flavor. Eggplant with garlic sauce: 3.5/5 - this is usually one of my favorite dishes but again this dish was lacking in flavor, a bit compared to some other places. Spicy dumplings: 2/5 - this was my least favorite dish that we tried. It was bland and the wonton wrappers were breaking apart. Overall, Chongqing House was good but I prefer the taste of all these dishes at Wu Wei Din or Royal Szechuan (with the exception of the fish soup). Pros: Pricing was reasonable which is rare to find these days. The service was attentive. Cons: Music was a bit loud for lunchtime conversations.

Yelp
Return or not return? Return. Part of the greater DFW not very good Chinese food scene, but based on my sample of 3 to-go dishes, it's better than most of the others. You know there's a level of authenticity when the woman answers the phone in Mandarin, can't understand much in English, and then gives the phone to who I'm presuming to be her husband, and his English is slightly better. Aside: English or little English, the woman incredibly polite and friendly. Upon entering the restaurant, all 5 tables occupied are mainland Chinese patrons speaking Mandarin. Green beans - decent. Orange Chicken - dark meat option only, and sadly Panda Express is better but this is definitely edible. Lacked a little sweetness, and crispness. Mapo Tofu - best of the 3, and I would re-order this one. Not over sauced and nice ginger/green onion notes. Tasted fresh. Price/value relationship. 100% worth it. Give them your business.

Yelp
V. Good vegetarian selection, no garlic no onion...what I tried: Hot and sour soup - the best I've tasted, with egg. It can be made without egg for vegans. Vegetable broth Dry Fried String Beans - never met dry fried string bean dish I didn't like Chinese Yam w/ black fungus - the yam I hear is a special dish, good crunch Spicy & Sour shredded potatoes - the Chinese way of making this dish not too starchy is to soak the potatoes which removes a lot of it. I hear that this way is good for the liver Ma Po Tofu - not bad Some cabbage dish - always a favorite Dessert - the rice cake with syrup something - made from sticky rice. Not my favorite but if it's yours, I think it's good

Yelp
Chinese food that is served and prepared well. Friendly staff and tasty food. Very generous serving and their food is best with jasmine tea to balance all the spices and oil. Place is very clean all the time. Great for bringing friends and family.

Yelp
I've been in the DFW area for 4 years and had honestly been on a hunt for great Chinese food. After visiting Chongqing House..my search is over! With a wonderful assortment of traditional and non-traditional foods, this place is amazing. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was impeccably clean. Food was plentiful, fresh and full of flavor. This is my new go to spot that I'll gladly drive to Plano for!
google avatar

Yelp
Great spicy flavor in this meal. Loved it! All fresh ingredients, chicken had a great crispness. Dining area clean and typical. Service was very good. Will definitely return soon. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Food is still delicious, but portions seemed to be a little small, especially for the spicy boiled fish fillet. I think their Kung Pao Chicken is one of the best, and the sautéed beef and onion was good too, sweet with flavor. But again a lot of onions and less beef. The wonton soup in chicken broth was alright, I wish there was a bit of ginger in the wonton or more salt in the soup as this lacked some flavor for me. Service is good, they try to be fast but they had a lot of take out orders making our food come out a bit later. The inside is very nice and clean however!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Current favorite in the DFW area. Nested in a small corner off the freeway is this true hidden gem. The dishes are always made fresh, tons of flavor and spice. The place is very clean and has great service.
google avatar

Caroline Z.

Yelp
Lamb Skewers Kind of just okay. Pretty good flavor, but annoying to have to pick through each little toothpick. Pretty tender too. Has a smell that's just slightly off. Not bad overall though!

Yelp
Being British I know what good Chinese food is all about, but having lived in the States for almost 30 years the Chinese food in this country is just OK. However ..... Chongqing House surprised me! not only is the food very good, but they have some great spicy dishes on the menu to which I'm a huge fan of. I have ordered take out twice and dined in once, on all 3 occasions the food has been extremely good. The staff are very friendly and helpful when it comes to recommendations and the restaurant itself is very clean, it is situated in an Asian plaza (Ranch 99 etc..) which is conveniently close by. I cannot recommend enough, if you like Spice or you want to try something other than General Tso's chicken you have to check this place out.
google avatar

Kristie And Max Z.

Yelp
The most authentic chinese spot in Plano. The food here is really cheap and consistently really good. The place has always been very clean every time we come, and the owners are also very nice! Definitely recommend if you're looking for high quality/authentic sichuanese food.
google avatar

Yelp
Green onion pancake and cold spicy noodles were so yummy! cold noodles was really good spiced but not so spicy . Green onion pancake was thin and crispy. String bean is average, cabbage could be skipped. Beef with pickle peppers were good flavor but might try something else next time. Hubby and daughter love the hot and sour soup, different than a lot of places but beefy and good flavor. Staff was nice there.

Yelp
I am a huggeee fan of Szechuan cuisine, and we are so incredibly lucky to have several amazing restaurants that serve up traditional Szechuan dishes. Chongqing House is new to us, and we plan to become regulars because our meal was perfection. One thing to keep in mind is the dishes are served family style, so bringing a group is best. We ordered 3 dishes, and left with a ton of leftovers enough for another meal or two. We ordered: Fried Chicken with Szechuan Peppercorn - this is my husband's favorite dish. It is crispy boneless chicken sautéed with slightly numbing Szechuan peppercorn, red dried chilis, garlic, and spices. This was prepared expertly - the chicken was very crispy but not oily and every bite was coated with lovely spice. It's a big portion, so plenty for sharing Boiled Chicken and Beef with Spicy Peppercorn Sauce - this is my favorite dish, I always get it when we go out for Szechuan. The fish fillet and beef strips were so tender, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The sauce was very flavorful, and just spicy enough to have a bit of a runny nose but not enough that you are drinking more water than eating food. The sauce is also slightly numbing, spicy, garlicky, and just delicious! I would highly recommend this dish, it is so good! Eggplant with Garlic Sauce - we ordered this as our veggie dish. I love well prepared eggplant and this was so good! It is garlicky, soft, and so flavorful. I could have eaten the entire thing as a meal on its own. We planned to try other vegetables on our next visit, although it would be hard to stray from this one. This place is going in our rotation. If you are visiting Dallas or just want to try a new restaurant, this place is a must visit!

Yelp
The most authentic sichuanese in the Dallas area. The owner/chef was born and raised in Chongqing China 重庆 He makes his own chili oil ( La Jiao) It's used to give his cuisine the smoky spicy home town flavors: unmistakable and so hard to find. I have tried most everything on the menu and it is explosively delicious! They have something for everyone try the kung pao chicken if you are less adventurous or afraid of the spice.. The Dan Dan noodles and eggplant dishes are some of my personal favorites.
google avatar

Peter L.

Yelp
The service and food were really good. The restaurant is very clean and they specialize in Szechuan cuisine. The eggplant with garlic sauce, Chongqing style diced chicken with Chili sauce was very crispy tastes like spicy popcorn chicken, honey walnut shrimp were all delicious. Great place for Chinese food.
google avatar

Monalisa Z.

Yelp
Solid solid 5 stars. fried food was crispy but not oily. Sichuan food normally is salty and spicy , but this place didn't make the dishes too salty , I like that. Ordered cumin beef, it was very well seasoned and beef was tender. Crispy diced chicken and walnut shrimp crispy. Walnut shrimp was smaller shrimp but they cooked them good, they split the sauce so it wasn't soggy. Pricing was good, portion was good

Yelp
We came here for dinner before hopping over to Costco. The place wasn't busy at all (but also it was Monday night). The server was nice, and very attentive. The food was delicious. For an authentic Chinese restaurant it was disappointing that rice was an extra cost and not included with your entree!
google avatar

Yelp
I tried the Beef Tripe with Chili Sauce appetizer and Spicy Boiled Two Kind during lunch today. There were only 2 other tables besides me and the waitress was prompt and responsive in her service. The table/seats was comfortable and the temperature in the restaurant was just right. The Beef Tripe with Chili Sauce was really good, and it paired very well together with the bean sprouts, very tasty and not too spicy. For the Spicy Boiled Two Kind, I had beef and intestines. The beef was soft and tasty and the intestines were very clean and tasty, and I enjoyed the hot sauce with the white rice. Overall, the food that was served today was better than many other Szechaun restaurants that I've been to in the area and I would certainly return to try out more dishes.

Yelp
Went with friends and this place was awesome! Not for the faint of spice though. You'll feel the burn, but keep on eating cuz it's that good! + Jelly noodles: really good + Spicy Pork Intestines: excellent crisp, spice and nom + Pig feet: it was a special and VERY spicy but great cumin flavor + Fresh fish with pickles vegetables: good flavor and fresh + Veggies were good + Fried Rice cake: interesting dessert that was warm and chewy and great with the dipping sauce = Sesame balls: good but nothing special
google avatar

Yelp
Randomly found this place on my road trip. As a Chonqingnese, I have to say the food is so authentic comparing to some many other Szechuan restaurants in the east coast, including Flushing NYC. The owner is so friendly and kind. Food comes in really large portions. If you're looking for real spicy Chinese cuisine, this is the place.
google avatar

Doug T.

Yelp
7 out of 5 stars for me. First time visiting this wonderful restaurant and ordered onion pancake, an item made famous by one of the talents on the Food Channel's shows, and it was delicious. The spicy cold noodles and the lamb in cumin sauce were tasty beyond words. My first visit will not be my last here.

Yelp
So the folks that complain this place isn't good probably doesn't have patience or know how to order authentic Chinese food. This is my second time coming to this restaurant. I swear this place makes me a fatty because I order so much here. Obviously fantastic food & excellent service. Chongqing Style Diced Chicken W. Chi Sauce - 5/5. Good crispy exterior with sichuan peppers & peppercorns that leave That good numbing feeling in your mouth. It's also not greasy even though the chicken is very moist Orange chicken - 5/5. The dark color on the chicken indicated a very good caramelization with the orange sauce. It does have peppers so there's a slight kick. Walnut Shrimp - 5/5 There's a cute walnut on top but the shrimp kind of floats inside the crunchy shell and when you dip it with the white sauce, it's just a lovely mellow sweetness. Spicy Pork Intestines - 4.5/5. I'm a bit biased because I'm not a pork intestine type of person but it's very good. Nice chewy texture and has that good oily sichuan spice to it. Dan Dan noodles - 4.5/5. Excellent chewy flavor that makes you know the noodles are made there. The meat is a great rich spicy that slowly permeates the noodles giving that slow heat. Chinese Yam W. Black Fungus - 5/5 Good rich taste that starts off mellow and you start tasting the aroma of the mushroom. There's also a fairly generous serving of other vegetables that just compliments each other. If you made it to the end of this long review, you're amazing. Go reward your suffering by trying this place. And thank you to the owners for not judging me on eating so much food.

Yelp
Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Price: $$ My friend and I came here for dinner ravenous. Let's say we left the place more than satisfied and with a couple of to-go boxes. We tried the following dishes: * (5/5) Lamb Skewers Highly recommend trying! Perfect amount of tingle from the Szechuan peppers, and the lamb was flavorful and cooked nicely. * (3.5/5) Eggplant with Garlic Sauce I had higher expectations for this dish. It tasted good, but there was a lot of oil that coated my lips while eating it. * (5/5) Fish Special This was superb! I can't remember the name, but there was plenty of fish and vegetables (potatoes, wood ear mushrooms, etc.) too. It took a while to come out but was well worth it. It was a bit pricey in the end, but the food was tasty. We also noticed that the tap(?) water tasted a little strange though. Otherwise, a good experience and friendly family-run restaurant!

Yelp
el mejor pato que he comido no olvides el arroz blanco y la salsa chili y lo mejor de todo el servicio y la limpieza. bien auténtico y delicioso
google avatar

Tanya W.

Yelp
My first time ordering from here. I got the cumin beef and boiled fish. The beef was very flavorful. Loved the cumin touch. The fish was very tasty. Perfect texture and just the right level of spice. Very pleased with their food!
google avatar

Martha G.

Yelp
Just okay but then again, I'm only basing it off the one dish I got, the chicken fried noodle. It lacked flavor and tasted strongly of bean sprouts, perhaps because they added so many. The carrots looked old but the chicken tasted fine. We were the only folks waiting for takeout and no one was dining in on a Wednesday night. The staff was friendly and service was fast but I don't think I'll give it another try.

Yelp
Several years ago I went to a Szechuan restaurant in Shanghai and had an amazing meal of Szechuan tofu which I can remember like to was yesterday. While in Richardson on business, a colleague suggested Chongqing house as she had no interest in going to a BBQ place. I was bowled over by the meal at Chongqing house...this is the first time I have had a meal anything close to that memorable meal in Shanghai. The food at chongqing is amazingly good! The restaurant itself is pretty nondescript in the middle of a shopping center strip mall. The staff's command of English is limited, but thankfully the menu is easy to navigate and makes it easy to communicate what to order. Bring your own wine or beer if you want it as they do not serve alcohol. Be adventurous and try some things you might not know. The Bok Choy with garlic is awesome but the chicken with Szechuan peppers is the best I have had in years
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best experiences at Chinese restraints in Dallas. We loved the Dan Dan noodles, pork shredded with garlic sauce and roast fish (which has plenty of veggies). Huge portions- you will have leftovers- and I'm not complaining. Noodles aren't as good when it's leftover so we finished that first. Super nice balance of savory sauce, minced pork, green onions, more sauces are on the bottom so you really want to mix it up well. The pork with garlic was really amazing as well. Super impressed. The roast fish had two small sized fish instead of the usual one big fish. Even though you would never seen this in China, I'm ok giving them a pass since the flavor was still really good, and like I said, we still had leftovers. M Service was attentive and they came by a few times to see if we needed more water (to hold down the spicy goodness). 10/10 would go back. You can also order delivery via Starve Bird- which is what I might end up doing if I don't feel like driving :)

Yelp
ordered chili chicken, could only eat a little because all the MSG in it. i wouldnt mind a little but it had my whole mouth tingling and it wasn't the chili peppers. Seriously last time i ate here the same thing happened, im done with this place. ‍
google avatar

Troy P.

Yelp
Garlic shrimp is spicy and delicious. Lots of options here that you might not find elsewhere in the area. The chicken gizzards with pickled chiles was a new one for me and will order again with other family sides. Wonderful, friendly staff serving an excellent selection will keep you coming back. I'm still dreaming of their spicey noodles

E M.

Yelp
We returned many times since the initial visit. It is one of our favorite Sichuanese restaurant in DFW area. Price is good with large portions if you order from the menu.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Very authentic Szechuan food. If you like spice, this is the place for you. By spices I mean a lot of flavors. My favorite is Cumin Lamb, but there isn't a bad choice here. The interior is simple and clean. It seems like a family run restaurant, and it is nearly always Chinese patrons. Enjoy!

Leyla T.

Yelp
SO GOOD. Like. Hit the spot, so good. Food came out hot, fresh and quick! Granted maybe because there were only 4 tables of diners but still, I thought for the quality.. this was great. Service was so friendly. I can't wait to come back. 6 dishes of food and 1 rice pot was $80. I think that's quite a deal!
google avatar

LaToya M.

Yelp
I should've known something was wrong when we walked in and there were no other customers at lunch on a Friday. The spring rolls were disgusting. I spit it out as soon as it touched my tongue. The orange chicken was good. The fried rice and lo main were both bland. Only 1 person came in for a pickup in the whole hour plus we were there. Oh I got wonton soup to go and it was cool. They don't give you nearly enough broth to eat as soup. I added some miso broth I had in my fridge. Never again

Sherri C.

Yelp
I was skeptical because of the location - was soooo good! First Chinese food I've had that I believe everything was cooked fresh - no frozen or canned Authentic Chinese
google avatar

Carole S.

Yelp
They keep changing pepper types. Sometimes it is super spicy that even most of Chinese people cannot take. Unstable flavor. Used to be my favorite Sichuan food restaurant in Dallas area but I have to look for a new place if they keep changing the ingredients. Unspicy food still worth to order. 有时候这家饭店的菜,点微辣还是会辣到发苦的地步,但有时候又很正常,肉质倒是一直很好。
google avatar

Yelp
The establishment is nice, clean and quiet. We went for dinner on a Sunday night and were surprised to see so few people in the restaurant but I guess it's a hidden gem in the parking lot next to Target. We ordered the dumplings appetizer, orange chicken and Mongolian Beef with steamed rice. The orange chicken was hands down the best thing we ordered - it was fresh and crispy. I loved that it wasn't overly sweet; the sauce was tangy with a hint of spice. The Mongolian Beef so fork tender but I wanted a little more flavor. However, the meat to onion ratio was good so worth the price. The dumplings were great but they came out after the main dishes so we were already stuffed. We took the majority of them home to eat for lunch - but as a bonus, they reheat well. Bottom line, we would go back and look forward to trying more dishes.

Ying L.

Yelp
First time trying this place. Had cumin lamb, cumin beef, and the string beans. Everything was on point and very flavorful. Glad I ordered the mild because even the mild had good heat. Meat was tender on both dishes and the veggies were fresh and crunchy. Everything went really well with rice. The service was good and the food came out quickly. Seems to be a family owned business and server was attentive. No complaints about this place.

Tao H.

Yelp
Found this newer restaurant on google. Good authentic Sichuan food. The dishes I ordered taste good.
google avatar

Guagua L.

Yelp
Very good taste guys but way spicy for me. I like the food here. Definitely be back. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Giovanny E.

Yelp
This Chinese restaurant has authentic menu. It's different than your regular chinese takeout. Serivice is fast. Food is amazing

Lily B.

Yelp
Not a very big restaurant, but very clean and inviting. Definitely one of my favorites in the DFW area. The dishes are very authentic Sichuanese (hot & spicy) in the Chongqing style. My husband and I discovered it less than a month ago and have already gone for dinner 3 times! Also the service was very good.
google avatar

Curtis K.

Yelp
Well... I had to repeat my order 3 times, no big deal. After arriving my order was still wrong. I chose this place since it is close to my job. I ordered chicken in garlic sauce and egg rolls. It cost me $22 which is a bit much for lunch. The egg rolls were mushy inside, minimal fillings and greasy. My chicken in garlic sauce is floating in oil. I enjoy Asian food of all types but this is only so so. I doubt I would ever go back. My 3 stars is generous.
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
The staff was enjoying their lunch together when we arrived, but that didn't stop them from providing us with the BEST service! They were all super sweet and attentive, even while they themselves were eating! Food was incredibly delicious! I highly recommend the cumin lamb skewers. They come on toothpicks and they're packed with flavor! Another MUST ORDER is the garlicky cucumbers, they're a burst of freshness that is perfect with this type of cuisine. And of course, the chili boiled fish was phenomenal! You will love this place, try it and see!

Nancy M.

Yelp
Ordered the honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken and spring rolls. Extremely disappointed with the taste of all three dishes. Honey walnut shrimp is deep fried shrimp with a side of sweet sauce. The honey walnut shrimp is usually made with the sauce mixed in not on the side. Shrimp tasted like fried oil. The orange chicken was chewy and dry. Hard to swallow. The spring rolls tasted like they had gone bad but still fried and served. If I was eating at this restaurant I would ask for my money back. Needless to say, we are left hungry so we're now reordering food at a different restaurant.

Yelp
This place is not playing. The ma po tofu made my entire mouth and throat tingle for a good hour after I finished eating it. ... which is EXACTLY what is supposed to happen. So whenever I move to a new place or travel to a new city, I look for two things: the best ma po tofu, and the best bubble tea. KFT has the latter covered so I've been searching around Plano for the best ma po tofu for a while, and I think this is it. I cannot comment on the ambiance of the restaurant since, you know, COVID. I ordered via Grubhub and the food arrived warm and on time. The ma po tofu here comes in those tall plastic soup containers, which means the portions are huge. AND it looks bright red when you open it. Perfect. What does this mean? It means they use real, authentic Sichuan peppercorns. Those spicy little things make your mouth tingle in a sensation we call "ma la". The tofu is also drowning in a soupy mixture of oily goodness. To ANYONE who is grumbling about their food being too oily, know this: Sichuan cuisine is SUPPOSED to be oily, and if it's not, you're not eating the real stuff. Can't wait to order more from Chongqing House. The eggplant in garlic sauce is already calling my name.
google avatar

Rebecca X.

Yelp
very delicious!! I love that fried rice! I like Chinese food, and this restaurant is very authentic sichuan food.

Yelp
So Good we ate too fast to snap a pic! If ya havent been, GO! You won't be disappointed!
