Chop House Restaurant at New Sheridan

I’d give six stars if I could. Exceptional meal, service and ambiance. Multiple members of the team greeted us as we arrived and walked to our table. We were told there were no additional seatings at our table so we could take our time. The service was pleasant, well timed and never rushed. The food was delicious, especially the Elk tenderloin. Add this to the list of excellent places to eat in Telluride.

Amazing experience from minute one. Staff is friendly and attentive. Multiple staff members stopped to check on us several times. Got French onion soup (needed a little salt for my taste but still amazing). Both of us got steaks with lobster, all amazing. We were too full to even eat the side dishes we got. A+++

A little pricy for brunch but top quality, unique dishes and great cocktails. Very friendly and helpful service.

Located in the iconic Sheridan hotel, the hotel itself is a big landmark in town. We are a group of 9 were seated in the corner where the wine cabinets are which is semi private. Our server is super friendly and we got couple bottles of wine from the cabinet they are at a decent price. The side dishes are good for table share, pretty good portion, so you can order one side per two person to share. The truffle fries are crispy cornbread is warm and fluffy. For the main I shared the bison, the size is pretty big, I can’t imagine to finish by myself. I think everyone else is sharing the main unless you are really hungry The meal is not cheap definitely a splurge for the trip, but really enjoyed the meal.

What a wonderful evening. It was cold and rainy outside, but warm and cozy inside. We had a great meal and the service was excellent. I started with the wedge salad, which was very flavorful, with blue cheese crumbles and Nueske's bacon. My wife started with the gazpacho and it was wonderful. Then we each had a filet mignon, and they were cooked to perfection - very tender and flavorful. The spinach and french fries were great. We topped it off by sharing the key-lime pie which rivaled one we had had years ago at Ziggys's in the Florida Keys. Thank you for being a great part of Telluride.

What an excellent meal. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was a memorable occasion for sure. The staff are terrific, the food is outstanding, and the ambiance could not have been better.

Great meal and service. Was not a fan of the crab cake, but the server removed it from the bill without asking. Great drinks, mussels were amazing, and the steak and fish were fantastic. Will be back next time I'm in town.

We had to make a last-minute reservation change on the night my (now) wife and I eloped in Telluride. So, we chose to try the Chop House Restaurant. This was one of the best decisions we made the entire trip. We weren’t expecting the staff to be so accommodating because we made the reservation less than 24 hours before. Still, to our surprise, the hosts gave us an excellent table by the windows, and they gave us complimentary champagne to celebrate. Our waiter was fantastic, too! He was attentive and made us feel special. Plus, the food was superb. I’m very happy we chose to celebrate our elopement here.
