Food was delicious and restaraunt was serene and quiet when i went. If there are others in the restaraunt it could quickly switch to a bustling atmosphere, which I feel gives it a unique experience.

Google
Papaya Watercress salad was refreshing and different but a bit spicy. Small, nice atmosphere. Service was quick- was able to sit down and be in and out within 25 minutes.

Good place for a casual pan-Asian dinner. Quality of food and ingredients seems high and we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered in addition to the cocktails. We particularly enjoyed the orange beef, although the portion was much smaller than we expected for a “large” plate. They have a cute back patio area which is lovely in summer. Please note that the prices of the menu items are higher than what is advertised on the website, so I’m posting the current menu here.

We arrived when the place opened and were immediately taken to our table. We ordered the avocado tofu summer roll to start and all the ingredients were fresh. Then we ordered the pan fried pork dumplings which were crispy and not greasy and paired it with the spicy drunk noodles with chicken. It had the right amount of veggies and chicken. We finished our meal with a mango sorbet. The place is quiet and there’s a ton of light.

Beautiful, charming and low key set up and ambiance. Pan Asian cuisine that is excellent and delicious, and a wonderful staff who care about providing good quality service. The grilled vegetable dumplings are delicious, as well as the drunken noodles, and the salmon. Also, they make the best Manhattan in NYC!

Google
Despite the reviews I decided to try the place in hopes they had learned and improved. Sad to say they have not- it appears this place continues to serve borderline unseasoned, definite unspicy- small portioned food. It is apparent with how empty the place is, the popularity. I would say the food was fine but why waste your time when you can have way better authentic or fusion places elsewhere

Google
The pork belly dumplings were so yummy! And the drunk chicken noodles. I also ordered a lychee spritz that was pretty good. Service was fast and friendly!

Very nice quite restaurant. I had a baby and ha made a little noise but they were very understanding and kind.

Yelp
Delicious, reasonably priced, with accommodating waitstaff. A good selection of vegetarian options. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area. The quality of ingredients is top notch. Ate here towards the end of the opening hours, so understandably staff were pretty busy. The interiors are modern and cute. Great for a small group or a solo meal. They have a bar as well.

Elizabeth E.

Yelp
Amazing fried rice. Ordered via phone and 15 minutes later my order was ready for pick up in person. Cute little shop with wonderful workers. Would absolutely return and try another dish. 5/5!

Myreon H.

Yelp
My mother introduced me to this restaurant, and I'm so glad she did. I order the same items when I come here, but that's because they're prepared to perfection. The steamed lamb dumplings are my favorite appetizer on the menu, but I also get the pan fried pork dumplings. The fried organic baby chicken is delicious and fried to a perfect crisp. It pairs well with their white rice, and will leave you feeling satisfied. The service is always good. I recommend this place to all of my friends who visit New York City.

Hannah E.

Yelp
The waitress was super nice and the food came out quick, but unfortunately my spicy sesame noodles were not spicy, and not really anything else either. (Except for a vague undertone of chloriney from, I think, the paltry amount of shredded cucumber and radish.) This dish CAN be surprisingly flavorful despite the fact that it's mostly noodles, if the restaurant gets heavy handed with the sesame paste, chili crisp, and/or chili oil, but this restaurant didn't use a heavy hand with anything.

Vivian S.

Yelp
Although it might look like there are a decent number of vegan options on the menu, in reality there are only two or three, unless you want just straight sautéed veggies, as ALL the tofu is fried in the same oil as meat items, and the curry and papaya salad have fish sauce. I would give two stars, but at least the owner and staff were knowledgeable about what was vegan and what isn't. The vegan drunken noodles were altogether lacking in flavor beyond what you get from soy sauce. The Thai fried rice was nothing special and definitely not worth $15. Portions were pretty small, though the pictures might make it seem otherwise. I could definitively have eaten more. It's a cute restaurant and maybe is ok if you want something quick, but I definitely wouldn't return.

Michelle C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed our dishes we had--orange beef and pad see ew. It almost feels like you're walking into a home kitchen, the flavors were comforting but simple. The portions are also quite generous for what you get, especially for the chelsea area. What a neighborhood gem!

Reshard R.

Yelp
Brothy and wonderful Tom Yum soup with a delicious jasmine tea is just what life orders. Not only is it good to have this option close to my office, it is good food and service.

Bo V.

Yelp
Tiny portions but great food. I'd go much more if they had bigger portions. I live across the street. Wish it had better value.

Rina D.

Yelp
I see a lot of mixed reviews here so my friend and I decided to swing by on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away as there weren't that many customers. Our dishes came out pretty fast and for the price it was pretty decent! It's a really homey vibe which was nice for a casual meal! Honestly for the price I think it was decent. The dishes are pretty simple and the portion size is a bit small though.

anne m.

Yelp
I absolutely love this tiny spot! The food is so good. The service is fast. The decor is cool. It's a hidden gem in this neighborhood! Truly! So good. Try the POACHED NORWEGIAN SALMON, the SUMMER ROLLS and the RUKU CUCUMBER G + T.

Victoria S.

Yelp
This is my new favorite lunch spot in Chelsea/Hudson Yards area. I went the other day with a friend and everything we had was perfection. For apps definitely trip the salt and pepper shrimp, pork belly buns and lamb dumplings. We also had the crab fried right, fried branzino and sweet and spicy orange beef. Everything was amazing and i will definitely be back!

Wenye X.

Yelp
Chop shop is a small Thai restaurant near my apartment. I have walked passed it 10+ time but haven't tried the food until tonight. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Firstly the vibe here is very warm, casual and homey. Service is very friendly. Perfect for a winter Friday night Secondly the food: - Spicy drunken noodle with chicken 10/10 It tastes amazing! The combination of saltiness and spiciness and the texture of the wide noodle tastes exactly how I like it to be. The portion is also just right - Shrimp summer roll with peanut sauce 8/10 The summer roll is just your normal summer roll - healthy and fresh, but the peanut sauce is bomb! Very flavorful with peanut crunches Given the good food, close location and friendly price range, i will definitely come back to try some other dishes

Yelp
I visited Chop Shop this past weekend after the chaos of Pride. I was craving something that wasn't American or Italian and at a reasonable price and this spot definitely fit the bill. As soon as I walked in I was transported to an oasis by the well-designed interior, air conditioning and jazz music. Since it was off-hours I was also happily the only customer when I walked in. Shortly after I sat down a couple came in for drinks and sat near the window. They ordered drinks to go so I assume the drinks were good! I was still recovering from the heat so I stuck with water and ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp. The food came out very quickly, which was nice. The dish was great, included a great balance of veggies, noodles and shrimp and great flavor! I asked for mine to be mild instead of spicy and it was still the opposite of bland. Everything tasted super fresh and high quality. I'm actually getting hungry while writing this review! All in all, Chop Shop was a great neighborhood spot to check out. Great food, cute interior, wonderful service. Can't wait to go back!

Gaby L.

Yelp
Nice spot! I got the veggie curry and it was quite yummy, the spicy margarita was also great. they have a cute backyard area i really like. service was good, had a little mix up with the timing of our entrees and they handled it well so no complaints!

Ali K.

Yelp
Small, cozy, fusion but a lean towards Thai flavours. A little more space would always be welcome but hey it's in Chelsea and I'm glad it's around! We had made a reservation and showed up and were seated ten minutes early (thank you !) The hostess was friendly and prompt and attentive. Limited space so consider making a reservation. The spicy cold noodles ( with chicken) were not too spicy at all. Not out of this world but unique enough to be noticed. The sea bass was awesome. Flaky, spicy with a noticeable hint of sweetness. Super fresh tasting. It does have skin on in case that's not your think with fish. Comes with rice Also tried the green curry with shrimp and eggplant. Very aromatic with basil leaves. Not too spicy either. Noticeable coconut flavour. Comes with rice as well. The portions are not too large and so an appetiser is not a bad idea. Will certainly come here again.

Karen H.

Yelp
The little fried chicken is a MUST and the eggplant in the sweet brown sauce ...there were two options...it wasn't the curry option...it was the other one ...really sauce and excellent w rice.. The veggie dumplings that are pan fried was ok...the papaya salad w watercress was okay.... The fried shrimp app was okay..the shrimp was fried w the shell and I felt like the shell was in the way...I wish it had been fired without the shell ....bokchoi was okay....my heart and taste buds were in heaven w that fried chicken... The flan is phenomenal...I could have eaten four of those all on my own....soooooo. Good! The ice creams were also great....black sesame = YES, ginger= YES, toasted coconut = YES, Thai iced tea ice cream...= hmmmmm maybe Service was lovely

Robby S.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and great experience with the staff. although the price to portion size was a bit disappointing.

Elsa T.

Yelp
This place was amazing! They had a great, COVID-19 friendly outdoor set up in the back. They even had heaters, which was definitely a plus since it was so cold out the day we went. We ordered dumplings and some pork buns as appetizers. They were both delicious!!! The pork buns were so good that we ended up ordering seconds. They were probably the best pork buns I've ever had in my life. Our drinks were also delicious. I got this lychee sake cocktail which was one of their most popular drinks. Would definitely recommend! For our entrees, we ordered the crab fried rice and the chicken drunken noodles. The crab fried rice was a solid option, but the drunken noodles were to die for!!! They were cooked with the right amount of spice and were overall so flavorful! I would highly recommend going to this place - I left craving more and will hopefully be able to go back soon!

Yassmin A.

Yelp
Just had a great dinner! They have a great outdoor area for dining and the service was wonderful :) Summer roll- solid Lamb dumplings- delicious! Crab fried rice - solid Japanese eggplant and shrimp curry- delicious! Sezchuan Orange beef- delicious!

Adebola G.

Yelp
Good service. Spacious with an additional dining room in the back. The food was great. I really enjoyed the shrimp spring rolls!

Ayumi A.

Yelp
Finally a place we're you get that authentic Asian cuisine flavor in every dish is..very tasty and moderately priced I Definitely recommend trying this restaurant

Stefany B.

Yelp
I arranged for the entire back garden for a party of 19 people. Everything was handled well and the food was amazing including fried baby chicken, steamed salmon, curried vegetables, pork belly buns, pea shoots, and much more. People could not stop emailing me about how wonderful everything was including dessert and wine choices. The staff was very accommodating and it all went of seamlessly. A++

David T.

Yelp
Think bulgogi style meat with rice, veggies and a couple of French fries. Had the sesame chop which was great! White sauce is similar to kewpie sauce.

Gina G.

Yelp
Our go-to order in place for comfort food! The vegetable curry, the fried rice, always a side of bok choy, the salmon, the noodles. Always solid, always comforting!

Patricia T.

Yelp
I stoped in while walking up 10th Avenue i found the food expensive (what isn't now a days ) but the taste was well worth the price. I had Drunken noodles with chicken also pork dumplings both dishes were packed with flavor! Will be returning!

Julie C.

Yelp
This has become my neighborhood go-to spot during the pandemic. Always clean ... always prompt ... always delicious! They are just the best place for freshly prepared and nutritious options ... and their dumplings are madly good.

Aldo D.

Yelp
This is literally the best Asian non-sushi meal I've ever had. The dumplings were perfectly cooked with a crisp crunch on edges. Then there were the drunken noodles. One of the best plates of noodles/pasta I've ever tasted anywhere. Spicy, packing a punch with each bite. Absolutely loved!!!!

Nick M.

Yelp
Easy place to miss if you're walking by. I went in last night for a quick bite to eat, and ended up sitting at the bar and ordering the Pork Belly Buns, and the Cold Spicy Sesame Noodles. First, I chatted with the bartender working and asked for a recommendation on a sweet drink. He pointed out the Chop Shop Margarita, and I decided to give it a try. I ended up regretting that immediately. It's a spicy drink, which is totally up some folks alley, but I'd specifically asked for a rec to something sweet. Honestly, even as someone who likes spicy drinks sometimes, this definitely isn't one I'd ever order again. The pork belly buns came out, and were absolutely amazing. Really wished that more than 2 came with a meal! They were so juicy and rich! Very fatty though, so if that's not your thing it's good to know upfront. I'd definitely say they're a must-have if you're stopping in. The cold spicy sesame noodles were also a hit! Not actually spicy, but I felt the portion was just enough to be a nice dinner. Other than that, there's not much to say about Chop Shop. It's small and cozy. Not so many options that it's overwhelming. Food tasted good. A little pricy for the portion size you get, and I'm not sure how much familiarity the staff has with their drinks menu. Overall I'd say it's a B- for me.

Max Z.

Yelp
First time really eating in New York and I must say it's some of the best food I've ever had. I ordered the "Thai Iced Tea" which was AMAZING. Then I ordered the Szechuan Sweet and Spicy Beef large plate. I wasn't too hungry so I was a little hesitant, but it was a perfect portion size with a side rice bowl!! There is dim lighting in the restaurant so it seems dark but ITS WORTH IT!!!!

Madison E.

Yelp
Great place for a quick lunch! Lovely, clean, good service, delicious light food. I would recommend the papaya salad with the shrimp! Came with 5 pieces and it was DELISH! I wish I had more to say! Loved it all around

Sankalp S.

Yelp
Disappointing food. Good service, location and ambience. We tried summer rolls and drunken noodles. Didn't feel like trying anything more..

Nisha L.

Yelp
The food was ok. The prices indicated larger portions but not shareable. The drunken noodles were better than Kung pao chicken which was unrecognizable but not in a good way. Too pricey and not worth it

Jake S.

Yelp
Got the Sweet and Spicy Szechuan Orange Beef. It was delicious! Service was good and it's a nice area!

Chris L.

Yelp
I came here with Boo Boo after walking the Highline on a nice Saturday. We built up an appetite and yelp had a lot of good reviews for here. Sadly, Yelp didn't help us. The food was a big letdown. We were able to sit at back 'outdoor' room. Sitting in the back is really quiet. I was over hearing the conversation from the couple 2 tables away from us. We ordered the bun since everyone was raving about it. And from my pic it was very sad and disappointing. At $4 each I wanted to more. Not because it was tasty but I expected more of it. The bun was cold so it made the filling inside cold faster. $4 for 2 bites is not really worth unless it's really tasty. My gf ordered a spicy shrimp chow fun noodles. And I got the braised short ribs with radish. The chow fun sauce tasted like watered down shiracha. And my braised short rib lacked salt was not tender enough to get the melted collagen texture. We also shared the snow pea veggie stir fry. We both enjoyed that dish the best because it was flavor stuff and had a fresher taste compared to out entrees. This place might be good to come for drinks and chit chat but I would not come here for the food. This place needs to replace the old tired Chinese cooks with a 'rock star' chef. We should have taken the train downtown for a more complete meal. We walked down 6 blocks to Artichoke pizza and shared a $5 pizza slice to finish our meal and then walked but uptown to the Bus terminal.

Mariah D.

Yelp
Was strolling around the area and wanted to give something new a try. This place is so beautiful on the inside and out (make a reservation to get seated outside you'll love it ). Being that it was my first time eating here I did my norm and asked the server what would she recommend I try. Me and my friend ordered what she said we should get and it was a great choice. This place has the best THAI iced teas that I have ever had. All the food we got was phenomenal!

Jessica B.

Yelp
Overwhelmingly average, I wouldn't come back here. The service was less than poor. My drink took maybe 20 minutes to come. We had to get the waiters attention to order, get the check etc. They never checked on us. The restaurant itself is very small perhaps they were understaffed. We sat in the back in what looks like a makeshift enclosed patio. At first I thought this was nice, a bit chilly but then a strong cigarette smell encompassed the space. The worst part for me was that the food came in 2 minutes, maybe less? It tasted like it was just sitting out. Even if everything is pre made at least wait 5 more minutes so I can pretend it's freshly made? We got the drunken noodles with shrimp and the spicy fried sea bass. Both were decent, nothing to write home about. The Thai boxer drink was pretty good.

allie w.

Yelp
Amazing food!! Came here with a big group and it was great! Service was fast and food was hot and yummy! Would eat again

Sam L.

Yelp
Chop Shop is a quaint little restaurant with dishes that pack a huge punch! We had fried pork dumplings and the pork belly buns as an appetizer. The pork belly buns were my favorite! The bao bun was soft and the pork was very flavorful. We also ordered chicken pad thai and the Thai fried rice. The pad thai's sauce was perfectly sweetened with tamarind. The service was quick and the staff was very welcoming.

Ashton B.

Yelp
I've always enjoyed coming here for the food, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. They always seemed to be severely understaffed for Lunch and the servers are clearly not pleased by it, you can barely get a smile. With the volume of daytime takeout they do, I am surprised they do not have a host or manager working to assist. I would be a little more understanding if the service was a little more hospitable.

Jessica D.

Yelp
We forgot all about Chop Shop since we first tried it a couple of months ago. This time, we placed a larger order and got to try many things. And all of them rocked, so couldn't resist updating this review. In addition to the Kung Pao Chicken and Beef with Broccoli, which were as good as before, the vegetable curry was insanely delicious, as were the drunken noodles with shrimp. Papaya watercress salad was fresh and good. My daughter gave the pan fried pork dumplings the thumbs up, but my veggie dumplings were a little soggy - guessing this wouldn't be an issue if we ate them at the restaurant. Not only that, woman who took my order was so friendly! Looking forward to dropping in and/or ordering again.

Jenny T.

Yelp
I've eaten in three times, and have gotten delivery twice. Always excellent! I would not have found this place unless my friend had taken me there. Located in a somewhat non-descript stretch of 10th avenue, and doesn't look impressive from the outside, but is definitely worth a visit. Nice, small outdoor seating in the back. The drunken noodle is very yummy, as is the roast pork bun type appetizer. Very tasty papaya salad. I have yet to have anything less than great here, really. Also, VERY tasty, creative cocktails. Reasonable prices, especially compared to many non-stellar, over priced restaurants in the neighborhood. Go try a great neighborhood restaurant! You won't regret it!

Megan B.

Yelp
Would normally have walked right past it. Tiny, uninviting front, no sight of a menu posted, but we were afraid of getting caught in the rain and were hungry. Started with a lichee cocktail that was light. Had the fried pork dumplings and they were some of the best I have had. The orange beef was out of this world! Surprised to come across this little gem.

Kate H.

Yelp
One of the few places in the Hudson Yards area that I can consistently come to for a reliable, hearty work lunch. I'm seeing a lot of reviews for customer service problems, but I've never experienced anything worth marking them down for. To be honest, I'm just happy that I can get a seat for a group ranging from 2-5 with no reservation and no wait. Everything I've had here is probably around a 3.5 star meal (pad thai, drunken noodles, yellow curry, eggplant, cold sesame noodles.) With pricing around $12-14 a dish, it seems about right for the area.

Toné S.

Yelp
Wow! Such a nice low key restaurant. I came here to celebrate a co-workers birthday, who btw loves this place. I was not particularly enthused about going here because the menu didn't show many options. Also, several of us were looking for drinks and didn't see that either. When we arrived, we were seated in the back which is also considered there "outdoor seating". It doesn't look like your outdoor because they have it semi closed in with heaters. Still was very nice and quiet. There was only one other party there when we arrived. The menu, though a bit basic, wasn't too bad. We ordered ribs, crab fried rice (which was a first for me and was very good), pork chops (were super tender). The food was phenomenal. The drinks (sorry can't remember the names) were great as well! I will definitely visit this place again.

Nelly J.

Yelp
This place was nice and the staff were nice but the food was underwhelming. I don't claim to be some expert on chinese food, but i think i know the difference between pork dumplings and lamb dumplings. The menu said lamb, clearly pork. The pork buns were 80% fat. So my rating is based on the food. Other than that, the place was enjoyable to sit in and relax a bit. Low lighting and modern furniture.

Ruby S.

Yelp
Yum! I've been meaning to go here and I finally went. I went for a quick lunch and it was perfect. We originally sat in the back which is "outside" but really it's just a closed off area that is separate from the actual restaurant. It was extremely hot and muggy in there so we moved into the front of the restaurant. It was cold in the front and the waiter seemed very annoyed that we moved. He also picked up my friends phone and sunglasses just to place a cup of water in a particular place. Service (B-) it made me fee u comfortable. Shrimp Summer Rolls (B) Nothing amazing. I've had this before. However I've never had just one cut into 4 tiny pieces for $6. Absurd. Vegetable Penang Curry (A) Yum! Delicious ! I was actually surprised at how good the curry was. It was creamy but not too creamy and it had delicious pieces of eggplant and sweet potato. The tofu was strange since it was fried triangles of thin tofu. I did not enjoy the tofu that much but I did eat every last drop of the sauce. Yum! Perfect place to have a quick and yummy lunch especially if you are in the neighborhood.

Tina T.

Yelp
Upon stepping into this place, I found myself transported into an age of China that was particularly reminiscent of Kung Fu Hustle. Quaint, ma & pop, and rustically chic. The decor of this original location was very enjoyable & the ambiance was a fresh take on a typical Chinese take-out joint. We ordered two dishes, the spicy red curry Beef Fried Rice & Tom Yum Soup. And 2 drinks, the Thai Boxer & 43 Ludlow Manhattan. The flavors of the fried rice were very good; flavorful, spicy, and delicious. However, the $14 price tag was pretty hefty for such a small portion of rice. The Tom Yum Soup was a bit disappointing, as it was overly acidic and sour due to contrasting acidities from lime and red onion. For a portion to price ratio, I do think this place is overpriced. You can probably get better asian fusion food elsewhere. The drinks here were very delicious, however. The Thai Boxer was very well made, coconut-y in just the right elements. I was sold on the Thai Boxer and the ambiance alone, and would recommend for anyone who comes here in the future to dabble on some smaller dishes and focus on the drinks- since they have a great bartender.

Jen C.

Yelp
Normally I wouldn't just leave a bad review bc I have had many fine dining experiences here... I came in with my boss as per my recommendation and a roach climbed up the wall next to us. The waitress was very calm got someone to come kill it - he missed and it fell to the floor and ran off. No apology was given and we just needed to leave - we left our food and took our check I understand it's NY and it is an ongoing battle but that ruined out lunch and we didn't finish. My boss will never return and I am mortified I recommended this place. I thought you should know how it was handled (we were not the only table there was a couple next to us who practically jumped onto our laps when they saw! asking for a check quickly as well... ) NO APOLOGY was given and we paid FULL price ...it was required! Ew and no thank you.
